I just bought a Mazda MVP two days ago. The one I bought was New. This car is great. I love it, my wife loves it, and my child thinks it's cool. I told my mother this is the best thing I've ever owned except my house. Two big thumbs up

I pondered a while about which minivan to purchase and test drove Odyssey, Sienna and MPV. In the end I decided on MPV because of its size and its cost. MPV's size is just right - can fit a lot of stuff, but handling and parking is like that of a sedan. We had this van for a few weeks and it's been great. It really is fun to drive. My wife, who was very worried about driving a minivan is perfectly comfortable with it now. So far I didn't notice any problems with the car (like mentioned missed gear shifts). Finally, it is 3-4 K cheaper to comparably equipped Odyssey!

We love it! Many of the professional reviews harp on the MPV for not being as big or spacious as its competitors. But for us, that is a real advantage--it is easy to park and manage. It is zippy and fun to drive, and has plenty of space for our family. Best of all, it was THOUSANDS of dollars cheaper than all of the other options.

We bought this van after we drove a Ford Windstar, Toyota Highlander, a few other SUVs and visited the annual L.A. Auto show. Has good power, expected interior size and folding chairs. On a tight budget so we ended with the MPV in the garage for $18,000 (including taxes). Feels slow when stepped on the gas (comparing to my 87' T-bird), but braking is good. Has the largest turning of any car I ever drove - U-turn is a problem. The gear shifter is - dumb - placed across the AC and radio controls. Cheap arm rests. Shortly after purchase, the water pump was leaking coolant on the hot engine, fumes were coming in the inside. Fixed on warranty. A bumper crash in the rear made a $3200 damage.

I love driving my MPV. The gas milage is good and it handles like a car. Compared to similar SUV's the MPV has more cargo space and better gas milage. It has better cargo space than similar Wagons. The cost was thousands less than the competing Mini-vans.

I love my MPV. It handles great, is narrow and easy to park and the fold down rear seat is extremely handy. I also like the regular roll down windows and the dual electric sliding doors. The price is also suprisingly low. I would recommend this van to anyone looking for convience, reliability and fun.

Just purchased this loaded EX for $27K!!!! Other minivans we were interested in: Toyota Sienna 04 (have to wait 4 months and pay $34K) and Chrysler T&C limited 03 (we had a Dodge for 6 years). The MPV just felt right, smaller size, more nible handling, stylish (with GFX package), kids love it (6 & 9). Everyone has commented on it-saying how great it looks. You cannot go wrong here!!

We have 2003 ES model. Fun to drive and perfectly capable of hauling a family of 5 with all the cargo. Best handling and extremely goof-looking interior. Reliability is questionable - we had tranny replaced on a long trip when the car stalled on a highway at 7pm in December. Had to spend 3 days in upstate NY on our way to Florida while waiting for the replacement (at Mazda's expense). Electric doors frequently malfunction.

We bought this Van for $21,000 from the dealer brand new. We looked at the Odyssey, and Sienna first but couldn't justify the cost of those other vans. The MPV is stylish and the power sliding doors always gets comments and looks from bystanders! It also handles like a car much better than a camry or an accord!!!I love my MPV!!!It's also not as cumbersome as the other vans this is good since the wife drives it most of the time and it fits in compact spaces. We used to have an SUV before this and that felt like a truck.I highly recommend this van if you have a small family.

I originally was not even going to consider the MPV because it was "too small." It turns out its size is one of its best features. There is more than enough room for the family and it handles better than the Odsy/Sienna/Caravan.

Wow, I am driving a minivan, my previous vehicle was a 2000 Maxima. But, with the addition of one son in 2000 and another in 2002, and a wife who feels we need to bring everything including the kitchen sink along on outings a minivan was needed. Compared every minivan offering at the time plus SUV's. The MPV's balance of handling, power, comfort, space and style sold me and my wife. It is also a capbale hauler. I can tow my 16 feet boat (have towing pak), kids, dog and cargo, and still feel I have enough power and space. Overall love this van and would buy another.

Our MPV has been great. We saw it as the best blend of performance, handling, styling and utility available for the money. The only issues thus far have been a 'jerking' in the transmission on occasion. My understanding is that Mazda is aware and that there is a fix. We just have to bring it in. Overall, no major complaints. Build quality is excellent. No rattles or squeaks even!

I always hated vans, but as a father, I had to give in. I got rid of my "grampa-style" sedan and my 4x4 truck and got one family vehicle. I debated between an SUV and a Minivan, today I drive the MPV. Granted I miss my comfy seats sedan and its leather seats, sub-woofer, moon-roof, etc., but I'm impressed by this van. It was well thought out. The variable seating configuration is amazing. I added Limo Tint and a rooftop LCD and we even go sit in the back seat, eat dinner and watch a movie inside the van. It drives and handles very well. I just wish the driver seat was a lot more comfortable, its too hard and too short.

Replacing 8-yr old Grand Caravan. After months of research, considered and compared Sienna & MPV as two most reliable alternatives. Didn't consider Odyssey - too many transmission failures (although some MPV owners had transmission shift-shock issue; now resolved with updated transmission software flash). I preferred larger size of Sienna; even bigger than Grand Caravan. But price was definitely an issue and wife preferred smaller size, maneuverability, handling, and looks of MPV. For less money, MPV ES also has more standard features than Sienna LE: leather, 6-disc in-dash CD changer, 2 power sliding doors, and alloys. If you have a smaller family and smaller size is OK, then recommend MPV.

I have the lx version with all kinds of upgrades. The van is well balanced as far as control and comfort are concerned.the one weakness of this van is the loud under-horse powered engine. the engine is adequate but thats about it. It growls and sounds like its always working too hard, also the gear shifter should be repositioned. Everything else about the van is an exceptionally superb deal.wish they had engine options, or a mazda built not ford built engine.

Moved from a 2001 Town & Country to the MPV and couldn't be happier. We wanted the functionality of a minivan, but not the huge size. The MPV is perfect...narrow and short enough for easy parking while still having all the necessary minivan features. Looks sporty and has great handling.

The car looks great and is fun to drive. The new front grill really looks sporty and makes the car look more like a car and less like a minivan. Gas mileage has been good. This is the best buy in the Japenese import market. The van isn't as big as the Honda, but you do get a car like driving experience with the MPV and feel less like you are driving a minivan.

An excellent value, the added Sports Package lends to a less "Soccer- Mommish" appearance. Great handling, the smoothest ride, seven passengers very comfortably. Removable second row bucket seats and fold down third row seat are fantastic, makes for an easy transition. Plenty of cargo room, not notably less roomier than competitors which I have rented in the past. Sleek interior with great sound system and 6 CD player. Overall a real delight so far, and the dealership bent over backwards for me. Great price and a great value, someone actually asked me the other day, "Would you mind moving your silver Mercedes??", and I answered, that "M" stands for Mazda!!

We 24 hour test drove ALL of the 2004 minivans available in our area. Toyota, Honda and Mazda were top ranking for us. The toyotas and hondas were very hard to find, as they are popular this year. The Nissan was a good van, but the queer interior was too much to get past. We eventually chose the Mazda MPV based on reliability, price and our test drive. We were overall more satisfied with the Mazda. Visabilty is much better that all the others and the overall drive was pleasing. We relied heavily on the Consumer Reports ratings for reliability. If you are "on the fence" we would definately recommend the Mazda MPV. Good Luck!

I was looking for a replacement for my 1994 Miata as my primary vehicle. Looked at sedans, SUVs, and minivans and decided the MPV offered the most bang for the buck. It drove nice, was quiet, had good fit and finish, and the LX with the LX Upgrade package, traction control, and the 4 seasons package had everything I wanted. I'm 6 feet tall and the van had plenty of creature comforts for me. My garage is small but the MPV's "footprint" is actually smaller than some sedans. The seats are very versatile and I can handle them 'by myself'... which was important as a single female.

The MPV is by far the sexiest minivan on the road, and it has plenty of room in all rows. The controls are awesome, and the shift lever over the air conditioning is not a problem. Acceleration is great even with only 200 HP. I wouldn't say it corners like a car, but it does corner well and takes bumps with hardly a twitch that make my Nissan Sentra shudder. The controls on the steering wheel are fabulous and the wheel itself is very comfortable to hold. See Favorite Features below for more compliments. My main gripe: mileage is 15/21, although I'm still tweaking the tire pressure.

This is our 3rd MPV. I've been in the car business for 22 years and never bought a new vehicle until I went to work for Mazda. The MPV is very good looking and dependable but let me make a few suggestions. The traction control feature is a must if you live in a snow belt. If you want a power seat you must go to the ES model. If it were available in the Lx model I would give the vehicle all 10's. Transmission had to be reprogrammed but is fine now.

Excellent road holding and ride. Powerful V6 2.5L. Ample cargo and passenger space for a small family. All in all much better than any of the other similar sized vans on the market. The cargo space is VERY versatile. I like the way the third row seats fold half down and tip over to make a tailgate seat for the ball games and the beach. My vehicle was fully imported from Japan and has that Japanese attention to detail and quality that others only wish they had.

We bought our MPV to replace a 1994 Toyota Camry 7 passenger wagon. The MPV has been superior in every respect: comfort, handling, fuel economy, ease of ingress/egress, fun factor, etc. Our average mileage is 20-21 mpg in combination city/highway driving. So far, after nearly 15000 miles, the only visits to the dealership have been for scheduled maintenance.

I bought this van for my wife for Christmas '04. She was against a minivan, except for a Mazda. We both agreed that it is the only van that looks even somewhat sporty. We have had NO problems with it of any kind. The only thing that can be annoying is the stiffer than normal ride. I can still deal with it though. It just mostly rattles change and other items stored in its many compartments. I am very pleased with the quality and value this van has provided. Definitely the best vehicle I have owned. Very smooth engine. Quick and sporty without a minivan sway and feel of bulk. Fuel mileage on the highway is actually better than my 2000 Ford Focus. The 5 speed auto helps keep revs down. GREAT VAN.
