I am very happy with it and would consider purchasing another one. Really wanted the Mazda SUV, but it wasn't available at the time. The only problems that I have are the power and gas mileage. It has a hard time making it up some of the hills in the area. And, the gas mileage is terrible. Other than that, I am pleased.
Great van for the money
Bought the van almost 8 years ago and have had only a few issues. Alternator need replacement. Rear hatch struts failed and coolant lines to rear leaked but both were recall items (sure hurt when the hatch slammed onto my head and knocked me to the ground). I've got 165,000 kms on it now and it is rusting like crazy...that is my only real complaint other than the not so great gas mileage and the fact that the van is so boring.

mazda mpv -great value and reliability
Great vehicle large enough for a family of five. Ease of use, flexible vehicle.
a mini van for fun and more
great handling both in city and highway. spaceous and confertable, but not extremely huge that it would be hard to manouver, over all is a great mini-van.
MPV great van bad cupholder
This is a great van. Drives like a car but packs like a truck. The engine is a little under powered (changed to a 3.0 5 speed auto in 2002) but it'll still get up and go if needed. The seating is comfortable and supportive. Endless possibilities for seatiing. I get about 22 mpg on mine, which isn't too bad, as far as vans go.
