I had been shopping around for a while and had my eyes set on a Mazda CX-5 after lots of searching. I found the grand touring model and was extremely happy with my test drive (including the subwoofer built into the spare tire, I love my loud music!) I was driving a '11 Nissan Rogue -- the pickup in the Mazda was noticeably much quicker! Interior much more comfortable.

Reliability, Where? Pathetic ownership experience

I have owned my CX-5 for just 14 months and in that time have had it in the shop 6 separate times. There are constant issues, constant repairs; and constant expense to keep it on the road. What's more is that its resale value has plummeted by $10,000 since I bought it. Everything about the build quality feels cheap, and is wearing out rapidly; and its only in a year of driving. I don't really know where all the rave reviews for this car are coming from because it quite simply has been awful. As soon as it rolled off the lot the problems began. The windshield cracks from the tiniest stones, any dirt hitting you leaves scratches in the pant, rust is forming in the middle of body panels. Don't believe the other reviews; you are buying a money pit. Worst financial decision I've ever made.

This is the size I wanted as a female, may be space problem with taller person driving and rear passenger. Works well for me to drive my teen and friends.

Smooth ride on the highway. In town you feel a bit more of the road imperfections. Great driving position. Heated seats and steering wheel are a big plus on the colder weather. 3400 miles and no problems.
