Mazda3 Sport HB (no bose, no tech pkg)

Best overall package in the segment. Driven the Golf, Civic, Corolla, Camry and used TSX and it trumps them big time. They all have prices around $20,000. Handling, ride and comfort are great. The route I drive has some bad section. It absorb and bumps and cracks well with confidence. Running on smooth road has no road noise at all. Noise on bad road are not bad also. No squeak and rattle. Price is reasonable and the hatch is very useful. Engine is very powerful, but sacrifice fuel economy. This is not your car if you expect 30+ mpg. It is not as smooth as the Toyota 2.5L. But better than the others. Rear seat room is plenty unless you have 2 6-footers front and back.

Exhilarating ride, impeccable design

I compared the Mazda3 hatch to the Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, Toyota Matrix and Honda Fit. My wife has a Fit and loves it. But for me, I needed something sportier with better pickup and a little more style. The Matrix was too pricey and bland and the Subaru's style didn't impress me. For only a grand more than the Fit, I got a Mazda3 with everything I could ever ask for. Granted, I did sacrifice fuel economy (my wife's Fit averages 38 mpg, but I'll be lucky if I can get 28 out of my 3). However, the 3's engine is monstrously powerful, making it an absolute joy to drive. It has a tight turning radius, is a pleasure to drive and I don't notice any excessive road noise. Highly recommended!

I love this car...

I love this car. It handles great and it greets you with a zoom-zoom and hello and then a goodbye when you leave. The joker grin grille is a bit much, but it suits the personality of the car. I'm tempted to get a Joker license plate. The hatch allows me to carry my mountain bike or whatever from Home Depot. There's one thing I would change and that is the seat width in my upper back area. It's too narrow for me. My son just bought a new Subaru WRX and the seatback width is perfect. So Mazda make the seats as wide in the back so that the side bolsters surround the driver, not dig into my back. Funny I didn't notice it when I test drove it. Other than that I love the car. It's practical fun!

Just picked up the car last week and so far it has been everything it was cracked up to be. The car looks great and drives like a much more expensive car. I love all the instrumentation controls being on the steering wheel and the Bose sound system is amazing. Fit and finish are excellent and the interior at night is just plain cool. I'll be driving this car as my primary commuter and the morning and evening commutes just got a whole lot more fun (and economical). Oh, the push-button start (technology package) is sweet.

Well this has been a great car for the past 2 weeks. Really Fun To Drive!! From a Toyota Camery, 4-speed auto; now I got a 6-speed Manual. What can be better?! The design is out of this world with the lights and that Graphite Grey paint job. Wicked, way better than white and a vinyl roof! Well its very sporty, I think Mazdaspeed had a hand in this, with the suspension. The Hatchback is very cool looking, best on the market, and love the versatility for cargo. Bluetooth is sweet (freak out the friends), they need to work on the voice recognition though. Interior is very comfortable in both back and front seats (rear windows go all the way down). I also looked at (Lancer and Imprezza) FAST!
