Bought a used 2007 manual wagon with 90K on it - really takes off, great on gas with 25-35mpg avg, stick shift handles great in all precipitation, requires very little maintenance (in 3 yrs Ive only replaced tires, oil, brake pads/line, AC recharged). This is my 4th Mazda - currently looking for my 5th! I have two car seats which leaves little leg room for all passengers but it does have a large wagon space.

I'm going to be honest and tell you I had to replace the fuel pump two days after buying this car. I'm calling it a fluke. Aside from that, this car rocks. I've been researching this one since it first came out, and now that I have it, it's everything I could want in a car. It came down to this or the Honda Accord, but this car has so much more passion. I know it's an economy car, but seriously, this is the closest thing to a BMW 3 series that I've driven this side of 25 grand. It's really that good. The engine is super smooth and powerful. The suspension is perfect, and the layout and design of the car is spot on. Buy this car. It's even better than you're hoping it will be.

I researched various cars over a year ago before my purchase, and online reviews were a large part of it. To return the favour, I'll write about my Mazda 3 5-door. Everything about it is great. My boyfriend has an Avalanche and can barely afford to drive it, but my car, even with the high gas prices, is $45 every 2 weeks. And I drive home at lunch every day. The back seats fold down so my 2 large dogs can fit in the back without destruction, and with the hatchback I just lift up the trunk to let them jump in. I hesitated to get the fit, scion a & versa as they were puny. This car has some guts but is sporty and versatile at the same time. Cheers.
