My 2021 Nautilus an extremely capable, comfortable and quiet vehicle. The car is even more quiet on the freeway than my 2017 Continental was - and it was very quiet. The Nautilus is a delight to drive and has lots of leg room and head room (I am 6' 6"). The seats are very comfortable and have excellent adjustments to fit any size person. I love the push button gear selector and easy to use controls on the steering wheel and center console. I bought the model without the sun roof because the sun is so hot in Florida I never used the last sun roof I had and it also let in a lot of heat. Not having the sunroof also gives me extra headroom. Everything about the Nautilus feels like quality. I ordered the turbo four cylinder engine and it has more than enough power. The car is responsive and quick and fun to drive. Acceleration and braking are excellent. I like the automatic fold-down rear seats that greatly increase the rear cargo space. I think this is an excellent quality vehicle and I fully expect it to be as reliable and trouble free as my previous two Lincolns. The Nautilus comes with a 4 year warranty and that is a nice back up to have if there ever is a problem. I think this is a beautiful vehicle and get many compliments on it. The only thing I would suggest to Lincoln is to offer some more color choices for the interior. The beige leather is beautiful and very nice, but I would have chosen blue or red if those colors were available. I have been extremely pleased with my Lincoln dealer over the years. They do a great job and are very customer focused. This is my third Lincoln after owning many high end European luxury cars. The Lincoln is as good or better than those cars and much less expensive for maintenance and repairs. If you are looking for a top quality SUV, you should give the Nautilus a look. UPDATE: I love my 2021 Nautilus. It is attractive, quick, quiet, comfortable and handles well. The seats are very comfortable and the Synch system is easy to use and does many things. It gets 21.6 mpg around town. So far everything works exactly like it did when new. I have had zero issues. This is perfect sized crossover and very well made with quality materiels.

2020 Lincoln Nautilus Reserve 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 8A)

We bought this car because my wife has nerve issues in her back and after sitting in almost every SUV available she liked these seats the best. She couldn't ride a mile in her Mercedes without hurting. She just drove 200 miles in the Nautilus and felt great. We got the upgraded seats and they are fantastic. Besides the seats, we are very pleased with the performance and ride of the car. Plenty fast and a very solid ride. She drives in sport mode most of the time because it feels tighter. Standard mode is definitely smoother. I wasn't sure this car was worth $60k, but we wanted those seats. It is very luxurious inside and overall we are surprisingly pleased with the car. The trim we got is not listed in the drop down menu. We got the V6 AWD Reserve.

Outstanding comfort, power, handling and comfort

As the owner of a 2007 Linclon MKX with 128,000 miles, which we loved, our first stop in shopping for a new SUV was the 2020 Lincoln Nautilus. The Lincoln dealer near us had just received an Ice Mocha Reserve 1 Nautilus with V6 and AWD, which is exactly what we wanted. The Reserve 1 package included more options that we were necessarily looking for, but included the 360 degree cameras and navigation. One test drive and we were sold. The performance of the V6 w/ AWD was outstanding, and all of the safety features were great to have. This coupled with very helpful sales staff, X-Plan pricing with no needed negotiation, and 0.9% 48 month financing and $2500 in rebates, and we had a new vehicle. I should add that we also test drove the new model 2020 Aviator, but we found it to be too big, and seemed slow in performance compared to the Nautilus. Same engine and transmission, but only RWD. But are beautiful looking vehicles inside and out!

Just bought a 2020 Lincoln Nautilus Standard. Am delighted with it and am completely satisfied with the baseline amenities. At 74, I’ve owned, driven and seen just about every type of automobile, truck and motorcycle up to a price of $72,000. Wanted a car that meets my needs of local driving plus occasional 14-hour trips to our second home. I didn’t want three rows of seats. I wanted comfortable leather seats, lots of head and shoulder room, good entertainment system and the quietest and smoothest ride on the highway. I wanted elegance that exceeds that of the neighbors’ family vans. Don’t need zero to sixty mph in five seconds that I never do. Don’t need a sunroof that I never open. Don’t need tricky apps and gizmos that require my grandson to program for me. Wanted a great dealer nearby. Wanted best trade for my virtually new ¾ ton truck. Wanted a great price. Got all of the above in this great new car. Could’ve tricked it out up to $63,000. Don’t need that anymore, either. Price was sixty percent of that truck and my last BMW. I’ve read reviews of every mid-sized SUV up to $60,000. Mine can’t be beat. Go shop.

While researching and driving mid sized two row SUV's in the luxury category, it became obvious that all the major players were still putting sporty performance at the top of their list. All except Lincoln. Lincoln has decided to get back into the luxury game which originally made them famous. I believe they did this by turning back the clock and remembering the attributes that made them one of the premier providers of a true American automotive luxury experience. They did it by remembering not only what type of people bought their cars, but what they bought them for. I'm talking about older folks who have reached a station in their life where they want to treat themselves to a better class of car. I'm talking about people like realtors who want to chauffeur their clients around with style while making a statement about their success as a competent salesperson. While their new line of luxury SUV's do have sport modes, it is subdued and more like a slight nod to younger buyers. It never even tries to be more important than the luxury aspect, and it's effects when turned on are subtle at best, which is as it should be. The buyers who want a true luxury experience could care less about neck snapping 0-60 performance, off road capability, or high speed corner handling. That's not what true luxury is about, and Lincoln gets kudos for finally remembered that. I bought my 2020 Black Label Nautilus because I have reached that station I mentioned, and because my stiff back likes the ease of entry and exit afforded by the ride height of a mid sized SUV and the not so radical front roof pillar rake common to most cars. I test drove and then rejected offerings from Cadillac, Lexus, and several others because none of them. at least to my sensibilities, had the quiet refined smoothness of handling and ride that I was looking for. The Nautilus rides more like a car than an SUV but is never mushy, and the handling is smooth and precise. Lincoln went all out to make the interior quiet, with better insulation and acoustic glass to help block sound. The audio system emits white noise to help cancel the outside world. Even the wheel wells have sound dampening material to help reduce tire noise. Put all of it together and you have one quiet enjoyable ride. The twin turbo 2.7 has plenty of power without being annoyingly buzzy like I found the Cadillac XT5 to be. It's loaded with all of the desirable tech functions that are popular. Two of my favorites are the Auto Hold function that keeps the brakes applied when you stop so you don't have to keep the brake pedal depressed, and Adaptive Cruise Control that automatically maintains the distance you select to help you maintain a safe following distance. Another feature I really like is the tire pressure monitoring system that shows the pressure on all four tires at once so you never have to guess which one is causing the low pressure alert. I like to listen to music when I drive, and the Revel System is one of the best I've ever had in a vehicle. My Nautilus is dressed in Burgundy Velvet with the Gala Theme Carmine interior, and it is a very pleasing combination. Even with all the available tech, the dash is refined and elegant looking and doesn't look like it would be more at home in a space ship. I could go on and on, but I think I've made my point, which is, if you value luxury first and foremost, you might want to give the Nautilus a test drive. It hits all the marks in that category.

Hers, his, and OUR vehicles

My wife has her sporty Alfa Romeo; I have my luxurious Jaguar XF, but when we go together we always take our Lincoln Nautilus. If we had only one vehicle, the Nautilus would be it. The quietest vehicle we have driven, with a very smooth and confident ride and all the comfort features you desire. We have been on highway trips a lot recently; enough to appreciate the 22-way massaging seats. Living out west where the speed limit can be 80mph (and the traffic even faster), we love the great handling and acceleration on tap at any speed (2.7L turbo engine). The vehicle has the towing package and will pull our boat effortlessly. The adaptive cruise control makes traffic maneuvers simple; it is really looking out for the driver but insists that you keep your hands (at least one) on the steering wheel. I think we found an excellent dealership; very professional and a good price quoted without playing "footsie". I walked away from another dealership where the price was always rather nebulous. August 2022: Our Nautilus is still our "go to" vehicle. Almost 33K miles now. This is the vehicle we take on road trips. It is comfortable (22-way adjustable massaging seats), responsive (335 hp), makes driving easy with all its driver's aids, and will carry whatever you want to bring with you (bicycles, or tow a boat). Mechanically it has been flawless. We initially leased this vehicle, thinking that in a couple years we might want to look at an EV, but now we have paid off our Nautilus; it is a keeper. At 35K miles and 3 1/2 years, still flawless performance. This is our heavy-duty vehicle; used for long trips, towing our boat, carrying lumber on the roof rack, carrying large objects (furniture) inside, and carrying our bikes with its receiver hitch. It will do all we ask without being an overly large vehicle to maneuver in traffic and parking lots. Our 2019 Nautilus is now at five years and 42K miles. Still our workhorse vehicle: hauling bikes, towing our boat, bring home lumber or sacks of mulch, and still, it is the vehicle we choose for long distance trips. Quiet, mechanically flawless, and with all the driver's aids that make driving effortless. One thing to note: I had a tire puncture from a 3/8" bolt. Thank goodness the tire went flat while at home. If I had been on the road, there is no way I could have changed that tire with the tools provided by Lincoln. The most pathetic tire changing kit I have ever seen. I was able to use tools from my shop. Then I went out and bought a real lug wrench to replace the "imitation" tool included with the car. March 2025: With three cars available and extensive foreign travel plans, none of our vehicles are racking up many miles. The Nautilus continues to be comfortable, reliable and a solid value. I see no reason to look at any new vehicles. I am still not a fan of the push button gear changes, but that is a very minor annoyance.

Had no intention of buying a Lincoln. Had found a Cadillac XT5 that I liked. Decided on the way to finalize the deal to stop at the Lincoln dealer. Very glad I did. I drove it 1/2 a block and fell in love with it. Bought it that afternoon. One month and still excited to drive anywhere. “Buttery” smooth drive. Exceptionally quiet interior. Lots of tech to learn. Well done Lincoln!!

Automatic transmission jerks like manual.

At low speeds the transmission jerks as if it is a manual transmission driven by a first time driver. Been in for service three times on this same issue. Re programmed each time. Latest recommendation is that I need to drive the car more so the car will learn how to smoothly change gears. (said with a straight face by a very nice service manager). A luxury car should be luxury when you drive it off the lot. It should not have to learn how to be luxurious.

Bought the Reserve 2020 nautilus. Everything’s great- until the system becomes laggy I.e. not showing songs that are playing until a few minutes after starting the vehicle. The back window refused to roll down more than a few inches, then begins working again a few days later. The worst- while using lane assist- the car abruptly jolted me into the right lane, COMPLETELY abs aggressively switching lanes in about .5 seconds. Luckily no one was around. The next day the powertrain malfunction light came on when I started the car. Haven’t even had it for two months, barely 1000 miles on it. Got it checked today- they said they can’t find any issues.

Eight months to fix the rattles. Now seats tearing along perforations, tailgate gasket failing, and rear "Lincoln" emblem falling off. Lincoln corporate refuses to fix the issues for a longtime Lincoln customer. Impossible to get good service when out-of-town. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!

Our 2020 Nautilus is a head turner. It's stylish looks plus the very quiet, comfortable seats and smooth ride are even a bigger plus. Not a favorite is the large "hump" that houses the info screen and is like a great wall between driver and passenger seats (the 2021 model addresses this issue). All in all though it's a great vehicle (I4 turbocharged engine is a pleasant surprise coupled with the 8 speed transmission).

We just purchased a 2021 Nautilus. With 1500 miles we are on a road trip and the electronics go haywire. Our Lincoln App (that they are so proud of) shows 102 errors with the car. While 3 hours from home the AC doesn't work - the steering wheel goes up and down the blind side assist doesn't work - the back hatch doesn't open, etc. We call their concierge service and spend an hour on the phone for the lady to tell us we have problem and it needs service ASAP at the nearest Lincoln dealership. Now we are in Michigan 200 miles from home on a Sunday holiday weekend and they don't open until Tuesday. She said we could try and limp the $60,000 car home and she would get us an appointment as soon as possible. So today (4 days later) they call with an appointment Oct 27th, (48 days from now). Hard to believe.

The Screen is fantastic, interior features flow, display info integrated into front gauge panel as well. Seats amazing, with the air cooling even in Texas heat my car is cool and comfortable within a minute. Cabin is quiet, drive smooth, power exceptional (6cyl), features are intuitive. This weeks favorite feature is turning off ignition automatically puts car in park so 1 push and done when parking. 1 year update- Still love my car. Comfort is superior, seat heater plus massage let's you tune out everything and relax as a passenger. I feel confident in the power abd acceleration available while still offering the smooth comfort of a Lincoln. Few glitches with phone connection, hoping to have it corrected in first service appt.

The Regret Lincoln

Alexander Toronto Ontario Cana, 06/05/2023
2020 Lincoln Nautilus Black Label 4dr SUV AWD (2.7L 6cyl Turbo 8A)
18 of 20 people found this review helpful

Let’s start with the positive. I like how my Lincoln looks, I like how it drives as far as the power goes, I have a 2.7 L. I find it very responsive in acceleration, which I enjoy, the 21-way seats are very comfortable, and there’s plenty of room in it. I also think that it is well-made. This is my fifth Lincoln. It’s the second one that I regret buying. It will be my last Lincoln. Now to the sort of negative things. When pulling out of my driveway onto the highway, I accelerate in a normal fashion and the words “power reduced brakes applied” jump up on the screen. The vehicle actually begins to slow down. This can happen at any time. It can happen pulling away from a stoplight. I am a senior, and I’m not exactly a drag racer. I find this not only upsetting, but very dangerous. Yes, I have taken it into the dealer, and they have adjusted and fooled around with it, and occasionally without any warning it will do it again. The worst danger of all is when I am on the expressway. I have my auto pilot 360 engaged, and cruising along at 77 miles an hour. There are no cars or trucks in front of or beside me. Suddenly the brakes jam on, bringing me down to about 37 mph before I can get my foot onto the gas and floor the accelerator to get up to some kind of a safe speed. So far there have been no vehicles really close to the back of me. This is a recipe for disaster. Not only that there’s a chance that the car behind me will think that I am brake checking them or something, and I could end up badly hurt in some kind of road rage. Again, I have taken this back to the dealer, and it has been adjusted, and it still does it. When the warranty is up, I’m getting rid of this thing, unless lady luck decides I’m going to get rid of it sooner. I’ve become quite reluctant to take it anywhere out of the city. I would not recommend one to anyone. I’ve owned a great number of cars. The strengths of this one are very good. The idiosyncrasies of it could be fatal. Nothing seems to be able to be done.

I have a new 2021 Nautilus and am extremely disappointed in this auto. The backup camera has already been replaced and is still terrible and glitchy. The radio will occasionally come on of its own accord, the windshield wipers will randomly start, and the trunk has tried to close on me three times. The worst is probably the wind noise when driving - it's bad enough that I worry about it developing leaks. I like the large screen but wish that it could be more customized to have the most used features on the first screen. Overall the ride is nice (but noisy) and the seats are cushy which is appreciated. I'm not pleased at all with my Nautilus and am very disappointed. **Update Sept 2022** Still experiencing issues with the audio system and the wind noise.

Got a great deal on our new 2020 Lincoln Nautilus Black Label. This is our second Black Label Lincoln and loved the first one, thus the decision to get another. We love the the way the car handles, rides and accelerates! Everything aspect of the car is superb! The dealership has treated us exceptionally well with both purchases and our experience with the service department has always been great!

Looks really good on the outside but a mix bag on the inside. The leather is really nice but the transmission buttons are cheap plastic and out of place for a CUV that cost me 65k! This price range opens the door to some really nice cars. Overall I love the size and the American Luxury comfort. Definitely take it for a test drive, it's worth a look.

Smooth, quiet, stylish SUV that looks nice, refined and gets decent gas mileage. I own the 2020 Cadillac XT6 which is a little larger but is very similar to the 2021 Nautilus. I also own the much smaller 2019 Lincoln MKC. The Nautilus is much better than I expected and enjoyable to drive. The car also gets attention from other folks. The only complaint is the stereo system. It is not the upgraded one and falls behind the sound systems in my other cars... not terrible by any means, just not as good sound quality. I recommend this car (and I don't say that often about American made cars). UPDATE: Still happy with the Nautilus.

Nothing but a pretty car. Under 30k miles needed a new transmutation. Had to go back in for more transmission work after the “new” transmission was put in. The sunroof constantly makes a loud knocking noise. It has been in 4 times for this noise and still wasn’t remedied only to be made worse. They have replaced the shade, deflector (twice) and the front pano glass. Not only is it still knocking, but it’s now crooked and the entire thing rattles and has the worst wind noise. The stereo blacks out. The leather is soft but stretches quickly making it wrinkly so we resorted to everyone sitting on towels. The seat’s bolsters are too close together making it uncomfortable. We loved the beauty of this car but after everything we traded it and have walked away from Lincoln permanently. Oh and the trunk! I can’t count how many times the trunk hatch tried to kill me and my daughter when unloading groceries. It is foot sensitive so if your foot even barely goes under the car when you try to get things out, it closes on you without warning. My 12 year old wouldn’t help me get anything out of the trunk after the third time when o had to yank her out before it completely closed on her back. Lincoln’s are just a beautiful lot of lemons and this one is no exception.

I am a traditional German car guy - MB and Audi have been my staples. Yet, I had a chance to test drive the new Lincoln Nautilus and I must admit that I like it. Cabin noise is very low; it has the necessary tech bells and whistles; it has good acceleration and good cabin space. Impressive. Almost as good as an Audi Q7 or BMW X5. Why the 4 stars? Two reasons. First, too much plastic in the cabin relative to the competition. Second, I have to deal with Ford dealers - who seem to be intent to subjecting me to all the tricks and traps that I tried to escape by going to MB. For example, the dealership that I visited nearly Lansing (MI) had posted one price and quoted me a higher price in person. When I challenged them on this, they changed the on-line price. Typical. Ford should consider separating the Lincoln dealership from the Ford dealerships - like GM does. Pity - a good car with promise. Update: 05 13 2020 Well, I bought a car - it was not the Nautilus. Why? Several reasons. First, concerns raised regarding reliability. Second, the depreciation of having a luxury brand. Third, the more that I looked at it, the less complete it seemed - it was always close but no cigar. So what did I buy? The 2020 Subaru Ascent Touring, The total package was close to the Nautilus in terms of level of trim. Subaru is more reliable and suffers from less depreciation. Finally, Subaru really knows how to treat its customers.

The first year with 2021 nautilus was a rough one. Engine shaking, transmission locking and braking issues but weirdly, they self corrected after turning the engine off and leaving it for awhile. Since then only one issue fixed with a new battery. The car has numerous bells and whistles and I really enjoy driving it. The multi tone interior is impressive, comfortable and convenient. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone wanting to drive a luxury type SUV.

The perfect upgrade from performance to luxury

Years ago I thought Lincolns were for the aging crony crowd but now as a well oiled senior citizen, I've changed my mind. I love cars. I love trucks. Through the years I've owned them all from stylish and fast Corvettes, to high performance Mustangs, to competitive upscale BMWs, and practical yet sophisticated 1/2 and 3/4 ton pickups. As I was waiting for my F150 to complete routine servicing I took a walk through the Ford/Lincoln dealer lot and spied a good looking 2020 Nautilus which I wound up taking for a test spin. That's all it took. As a 30-year military veteran, my body, especially my back, has succumbed to eight surgeries leaving me with chronic pain which I learned to live with. My Nautilus taught me that I could incorporate comfort, stylishness and spunky performance into my expectations of what an exacting senior citizen wants from his trusty steed. I was surprised to find the right combination of these characteristics in my Nautilus and have now accepted 'Mickey' as my ideal driving machine. I like it. I like it a lot. The perfect fashionable, yet peppy machine capable of providing comfort and luxury on those relaxing road trips to stylishly pulling a vintage Mustang to the weekend car shows. Wish I had transitioned a few years ago.

I travel over 100 miles per day to and from work for the last 23 years and this by far is the most comfortable car I have had the pleasure to own. Cooling seats for those hot Texas days and heated steering wheel when you have that once ayear northern blast that just chills you to the bone. Remote start says I have arrived when walking out to your car with your coworkers and the automatic liftgate lets Mom know she is valued. More cargo room than a Lexus and easier on the wallet. You can not go wrong keeping it classy.

I purchased my CPO '21 Nautilus when it was already three years old with 45K miles. I traded in a 2015 Lexus RX450h, which was OK, but I missed all the special features of a Lincoln, having previously owned a '16 Lincoln MKX, which I absolutely loved! There's just something special about driving a beautiful Lincoln that makes me want to get in it, get comfortable and drive. Mine has the 2.0 4-cylinder, which has been fine, and consistently gets 25-28 mpg in mixed city/highway driving. According to Consumer Reports, Lincoln vehicles have a lower cost to maintain and repair than most other vehicles. That's been my experience too. Mine also has the optional 22-way power seats with massage function, that are the epitome of comfort and relaxation. Some of the little things I love about the car: the welcome lighting when you approach the car with the key in your pocket, absolutely beautiful! Also, there are cornering lights that activate when you turn the wheel in either direction that give you better visibility at night. There are other thoughtful touches. For example, if a call comes in while the fan is blowing on high, it automatically lowers the fan speed to provide a quieter environment during the call. That's clever. The Revel audio system is excellent, and the instrumentation is clear and pleasant to look at. The ride is comfortable, smooth and quiet. I really love driving and looking at my Nautilus, and highly recommend it!

Build Quality is Substandard

Love the ride / low noise levels / comfort features / style / color scheme. The build quality is poor as far as fit. Excessive gaps on doors and trunk and uneven alignment. Paint in general is OK but some sags and blotchiness in visible areas. Chrome burns chrome misses and dirt particles beyond acceptable limits. The cloth-wrapped A-pillars are not supported properly in the middle (design flaw) and after 2 years of sun exposure they have deformed beyond the blackout area. I will be very critical on fit form and function when I buy my next Lincoln as I do enjoy the comforts. BTW this vehicle was built in Canada St Thomas assembly plant.

Audio system worse I've ever had in a vehicle. Sound is in your face and not possible to set up for surround sound. Few adjustments for tone, sound is very tinny. No longer listen to music in the car. Sitting on the seats rather than in them with few adjustments to set up for your preference. Would not take the Nautilus for a lengthy drive. The vehicle has too many issues to list and will be getting rid of it shortly. The 2021 Nautilus needs another revamping. I will say the size is good for me with and appealing looking interior. The driver's seat moves back and steering column lifts up which makes for easy entry and exit. The car handles well on the road but needs alot of tune up in audio, seats, and camera issues. Very sorry I bought this car
