144,300 miles and still going strong.
First car I have owned more than 4 years. A pleasure to drive. Great highway car. Super smooth transmission. Still get compliments. Highly recommend the GS. Traded it in last July for 2016 Lexus GS. The 2016 GS is a great car. Highly recommend it to anyone who likes to drive!!!!. Traded it in for a new 2016 Lexus GS.

Great purchase
Just traded in my 2001 GS300 for 2006 GS300. All in all it was a great purchase and good value. Surprisingly, I posted 29.8 mpg on highway from DE to NY and back for a total of 220 miles trip. But I do not get anything better than 19 mpg in the city.

LOVE this car
I have liked Infiniti's, Acura's, Volvo's. Those feel vibration harsh compared to my dark sapphire blue beauty. This GS300 is amazing in every way
Dependable, But Front Panel Rattle Issue
While my Lexus 2006 GS 300 AWD is very reliable, I do have an issue with it. The radio console and front dashboard panel on occasion will have rattling issues. Extremely annoying when the rattle starts. I can't understand why Lexus would put in a radio console that has multiple plastic part assembly in the radio panel, and poor padding in the front dashboard panel. Very poor radio/console design. They missed this in there quality control. I've brought my car in to the dealer twice, they've resolved most rattles in the front dashboard panel area, but not the radio console front panel. For a higher end luxury car, this is unacceptable.
The Best Car I've Ever Owned
I've had this car for about 2 years and I still look forward to the next time I get to drive it. I enjoy how the footlights and interior lights glow when I approach the car at night. The keyless entry is great. I just have to grab the handle and the car unlocks. The ride is so smooth and refined. The brakes are great. I especially like the feature that notices if you jam on the brakes and gives you an accelerated braking response. The Mark Levinson sound system is like a home theater. The DVD capability of the nav screen is nice if you have to wait in the car for someone. The engine idles so quietly and smoothly that once in the while I need to check the RPM gauge to see if it's on.
