Excellent SUV but one major flaw
The Sorento EX has it all for the price. I am 6'5" and it has plenty of room with easy ingress/egress for me. The SUV is fast, quiet and very solid. There are no rattles or squeaks. I am a conservative driver and my around town driving has measured 22.9 mpg. Very happy with that. The transmission is not smooth, shifts at strange times, downshifts with an impact and "clunks" the first 1st to 2nd gear shift of the day.
Sold Mercedes. Got a Kia!
Was tired of spending thousands and got a Kia. LOVE it so far! Very dependable and drives great! Read the reviews and was an easy decision!

Junk
Paid 17 Thousand dollars for my used Kia Sorento1.5 years ago. The rod bearing went on my commute to work and I was left stranded. Quoted 22 THOUSAND to replace the engine by Kia. This extensive issue has Kia offering extended warranty on several other models, but not this one. Worst purchase I have ever made.

Worst vehicle ever owned
In 30 years of car ownership I have never witnessed a vehicle in such perpetual need of maintenance.
luv my kia sorento
Best SUV we ever owned plus you can't beat the warranty and the price! Others are way over priced and don't compare, plus it has a great exterior look!

Kia doesn't honor extended warranties
I bought this vehicle in 2016, kia was aware then that the 3.3 liter engines in alot of there vehicles had a manufacturing defects that caused dangers to not only the engines but the drivers. My sorrento suffered catastrophic engine failureat 118,000 miles at the end of 2024. Kia issued extended warranties for these "suspect" engines but made sure there was a loophole in not covering engine replacement by making it mandatory that the recalls service for the knock sensor was done. The service does not stop the engine from seizing or leaking fluids including oil everywhere amongst other engine damage. It only stops the engine from catching fire. So I'm being denied the repairs and have been quoted by my local deership a hefty $13,000 labor and engine replacement fee. Kia is great at paying millions upon millions of dollars for advertising but have no care for consumers happiness or safety. I will never purchase another Kia.

Great all-around SUV
This has been a very good vehicle us, and would be for a family of 5 or less. Would like a little better fuel economy, but it does well when you look at similar sized SUV's. Only 1 or 2 recalls over 5 years and just routine maintenance to keep up on.
