Used 2004 Kia Sedona Minivan Consumer Reviews
Great price not so great car
Our family bought the van used in 12/07 and already has had internal engine issues and timing chain/cover replacements and found out it has had major engine work previously and it only has 21,000 miles. Almost everything was covered by warranty although it did take them 5 weeks because a certain part had to be shipped from Korea. I think this is not a good running car because of the problems I've had. When the car runs it is all in all a cheap but pretty good van
Interesting differences
I am in UK, and have a 12/03 registered ex Dealer demonstrator 2004 model Sedona L. Unlike the US a 2.9 diesel engine is available and the fuel consumption on this is 30-34 UK gall per mile. Engine is not speedy but does have grunt. From what I can see from sites/reviews the main issue is quality control in Korea, also possibly does not like certain driving styles (heavy braking rather than anticipation..etc.) We wait to see how it goes over the years. A lot of vehicle for the money but the jury is out over longevity.

I LOVE MY KIA
BELL ROAD KIA TREATED ME WITH RESPECT AND GAVE ME A GREAT DEAL. THEY WERE FRIENDLY AND VERY HELPFUL.THE SEDONA VAN IS A FANTASTIC INVESTMENT.
so far so good
I have owned Ford products for the past 40 years. When it was time to replace our Windstar at 198,000 we did comparative shopping. We drove them all and researched all mini-vans and concluded that the Sedona was the best value for the money. We talked to other Sedona owners and received no negative response. We have only owned our Sedona for a few weeks, but have recommended it to several of our neighbors who are shopping for a van. Several complain about gas economy. We could never get more than 19-20 on the highway with the Windstar, so 20-22 is an improvement. We love it so far.
NOT THE BEST, BUT NOT THE WORST
BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS VAN I HAD A CARAVAN.THE KIA IS DEFINITELY NICER,BUT IT ALSO COST MORE. I WISH IT HAD MORE ROOM OVERALL. THE GAS MILEAGE IS NOT GOOD BECAUSE THE CAR IS SO HEAVY. BUT, BEING HEAVY IS A PLUS IF YOU GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.IT'S QUIET INSIDE AND I LIKE BEING ABLE TO TURN DOWN THE MUSIC IN THE FRONT WHILE LEAVING IT LOUDER IN THE BACK. THE INTERIOR IS CLASSY. THE TRAY IN BETWEEN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT IS A GOOD IDEA, BUT I CAN'T FIT MY ARM DOWN BESIDE IT IF I DROP ANYTHING. THERE ARE NO CUP HOLDERS FOR THE SECOND ROW SEATS. ALL IN ALL, THE VAN IS VERY NICE. I LOVE THE WARRANTY. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SERVICE YET. THE AC IS GREAT.
kick ass mini van
Tow's my jet skis with no problem. Grate power and comfort.
Kia 2004
had a hard time actually buying a minivan, but works well for my family.
alot for your money
THE BEST THING I FOUND ABOUT KIA IS THAT YOU GET ALOT FOR YOUR MONEY NOT ONLY WITH THE SEDONA BUT WITH ALL THEIR CARS. I LOVE THIS VAN. IS HAS FRONT AND REAR HEAT AND A/C I GOT A DVD PLAYER AND THE KIDS LOVE IT. IT CAME WITH 2 HEAD SETS! THE WARRANTY IS GREAT. THE DEALERSHIP THAT I BOUGHT IT WAS WONDERFUL!
so far so good!
great mini van. for sure better than any american built. dont compare with hondas or nissans. but they dont have nearly as good a warrenty
Disappointed Consumer
I have had my sedona 2 years, and I have had to take it back in 6 times for repairs. 3 times were for check engine light, which is still not repaired. Both of the sliding doors had to have the rollers replaced, and the passenger side mirror is stuck. All of the repairs have been under the warranty, but what happens when the warranty ends?
