Sedona LX

We have only had the Sedona for 2 days. Gas mileage is crappy but the fit, finish and design extras are great. Excellent interior features like storage and lighting. Seats could be more comfortable (cloth). Drives very nicely, good power, very quiet interior. Far superior to the Caravan with respect to interior fit and finish and extras. Why can't we build them like this after 100 years? Just ask the cutomers what they want. Kia apparently did.

Have this car for over a year and Im still in love with it. It's lived up to all my expectations and then some. It's easy to handle, great on gas and the maintenance is a dream come true. The only thing that I would change is the positioning of the second row passenger side seat. It should be closer to the door for easier access.

Interesting differences

I am in UK, and have a 12/03 registered ex Dealer demonstrator 2004 model Sedona L. Unlike the US a 2.9 diesel engine is available and the fuel consumption on this is 30-34 UK gall per mile. Engine is not speedy but does have grunt. From what I can see from sites/reviews the main issue is quality control in Korea, also possibly does not like certain driving styles (heavy braking rather than anticipation..etc.) We wait to see how it goes over the years. A lot of vehicle for the money but the jury is out over longevity.

I have owned Ford products for the past 40 years. When it was time to replace our Windstar at 198,000 we did comparative shopping. We drove them all and researched all mini-vans and concluded that the Sedona was the best value for the money. We talked to other Sedona owners and received no negative response. We have only owned our Sedona for a few weeks, but have recommended it to several of our neighbors who are shopping for a van. Several complain about gas economy. We could never get more than 19-20 on the highway with the Windstar, so 20-22 is an improvement. We love it so far.

NOT THE BEST, BUT NOT THE WORST

BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS VAN I HAD A CARAVAN.THE KIA IS DEFINITELY NICER,BUT IT ALSO COST MORE. I WISH IT HAD MORE ROOM OVERALL. THE GAS MILEAGE IS NOT GOOD BECAUSE THE CAR IS SO HEAVY. BUT, BEING HEAVY IS A PLUS IF YOU GET INTO AN ACCIDENT.IT'S QUIET INSIDE AND I LIKE BEING ABLE TO TURN DOWN THE MUSIC IN THE FRONT WHILE LEAVING IT LOUDER IN THE BACK. THE INTERIOR IS CLASSY. THE TRAY IN BETWEEN THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEAT IS A GOOD IDEA, BUT I CAN'T FIT MY ARM DOWN BESIDE IT IF I DROP ANYTHING. THERE ARE NO CUP HOLDERS FOR THE SECOND ROW SEATS. ALL IN ALL, THE VAN IS VERY NICE. I LOVE THE WARRANTY. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SERVICE YET. THE AC IS GREAT.

Great looking & value for the money. We got the EX because of all the extras...and its not that much more. This one has everything you need. Got DVD, sunroof, ABS (a necessity), spoiler, leather seats as options. Never thought the spoiler would add so much, looks great. If you want a great minivan with value for the dollar...this is the one. Try to find something else with so many features, warranty and safety. It rides great, looks great and my family loves it. Very quiet, no rattles or shakes, excellent shifting transmission...very responsive. Engine is solid...there when you need it.

We used to own a 2000 Dodge Caravan SE. We drive alot of miles so upon looking for another van to replace it with, we found we just couldnt afford what was out there with the features we wanted...until we looked at the Kia...the website and brochures do not do this van justice!!! It is so much better in person and to drive it! Our children love the DVD system, we love the sunroof, the 4 captains chairs are so comfortable and there is so much leg room even for adults in all 3 rows...this van has so far exceeded all of our expectations and every day we drive it, we are so glad to have all the features that it comes with at such a reasonable price!!!

I have had my sedona 2 years, and I have had to take it back in 6 times for repairs. 3 times were for check engine light, which is still not repaired. Both of the sliding doors had to have the rollers replaced, and the passenger side mirror is stuck. All of the repairs have been under the warranty, but what happens when the warranty ends?
