2026 Kia EV9 Trims Comparison

2026 EV9 trim level differences

The 2026 Kia EV9 is an all-electric three-row SUV available in Light, Light Long Range, Wind, Land, GT-Line and GT trim levels. Although each of these has the requisite difference in feature content (detailed below), there are also contrasts in performance, drivetrain (rear- vs. all-wheel drive), and battery size and range. Each version has an 800-volt electrical system capable of accepting between 210 kW (all trims except Light) to 235 kW (Light) of peak power, resulting in very quick charging times.

Light
The base trim gets you in the door with a good starting price and lots of features, though performance and range aren't as prodigious as other trims. Standard features include:

  • Single-motor rear-wheel drive (215 horsepower, 258 lb-ft of torque)
  • 76.1-kWh battery pack
  • Kia-estimated 230 miles of range
  • 19-inch alloy wheels
  • LED headlights
  • Heated and power-folding mirrors
  • Hands-free liftgate
  • Auto-dimming rearview mirror
  • Synthetic leather upholstery
  • Heated and ventilated power-adjustable front seats
  • Second-row bench seat (seven-passenger seating)
  • Tri-zone automatic climate control

These tech features are also standard on the EV9 Light:

  • 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and 5-inch climate control display
  • 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
  • Eight-speaker audio system
  • Wireless smartphone charging pad
  • Kia Connect connected services
  • Integrated navigation system
  • Two USB charging ports in each row
  • Wi-Fi hotspot

Every EV9 also includes these advanced driver assist systems and safety features:

  • Forward collision warning with automatic braking (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios; detects cars, pedestrians and cyclists)
  • Intersection collision mitigation (warns you of an impending collision from cross traffic and can apply the brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning (alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)
  • Lane departure mitigation (warns you of a lane departure when a turn signal isn't used and can automatically steer to maintain lane position)
  • Lane keeping system (makes minor steering corrections to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane)
  • Evasive steering assistance (enhances the forward collision warning system with steering-based collision avoidance)
  • Adaptive cruise control (maintains a driver-set distance between the EV9 and the car in front)
  • Lane-centering steering assist (makes minor steering corrections to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane while using adaptive cruise control)
  • Front and rear parking sensors (alert you to obstacles that may not be visible in front of or behind the vehicle when parking)

Light Long Range
Builds on the base trim with a larger-capacity battery and more range, but it has less power. It's also only available with six seats. Additional features include:

  • Single-motor rear-wheel drive (201 horsepower, 258 lb-ft of torque)
  • 99.8-kWh battery pack
  • Kia-estimated 305 miles of range
  • Second-row captain's chairs (six-passenger seating)
  • Sunroof

Wind
Adds a second motor to the front wheels for electric all-wheel drive and significantly more power. Features include:

  • Dual electric motors all-wheel drive (379 hp, 443 lb-ft; torque is upgradable to 516 lb-ft via download)
  • Kia-estimated 283 miles of range
  • Heat pump (heats the cabin more efficiently than typical heater)
  • Flush roof rails
  • Panoramic glass roof
  • Second-row bench seat
  • Heated power-adjustable steering wheel
  • Driver's seat memory settings
  • Surround-view monitor (gives you a top-down view of the EV9 and its surroundings in tight parking situations)
  • Blind-spot camera (displays an image of the vehicle's blind spot in the instrument panel when you activate a turn signal)
  • Rear automatic braking (applies the brakes automatically to avoid an imminent collision with an object behind the vehicle)

Land
This has the same motor, drivetrain and battery setup as the Wind. Its added features include:

  • 20-inch wheels
  • Self-leveling rear suspension
  • Upgraded exterior lighting
  • Gloss black exterior trim and accents
  • Auto-dimming exterior mirrors
  • Sound-reducing rear glass
  • Digital rearview mirror function (allows you to see out of the back even with a fully loaded cargo area)
  • Rear window shades
  • Ambient cabin lighting
  • Driver's seat power-adjustable thigh support and additional lumbar adjustment
  • Heated and ventilated rear seats
  • Second-row captain's chairs with a center console (six-passenger seating)
  • 14-speaker Meridian premium audio system

The Land is available with the Nightfall Edition package that adds black wheels, exterior trim and badging. There are also unique interior design elements, and the torque upgrade to 516 lb-ft is standard. It can be had with a second-row bench or captain's chairs.

GT-Line
The GT-Line offers sportier styling than the trim levels below but should not be confused with the much spicier GT, detailed below. Its extras include:

  • Dual electric motors all-wheel drive (379 horsepower, 516 lb-ft of torque)
  • Kia-estimated 280 miles of range
  • 21-inch wheels
  • Raised roof rails
  • Special styling details
  • Massaging function for driver's seat
  • Power-adjustable thigh support for front passenger seat
  • Head-up display (displays important information in your sight line on the windshield)
  • Automated parking system (steers into a parking spot with little or no driver intervention; can be used from outside the car via the key fob)

The GT-Line's unique 2nd Row Relaxation package adds thigh extenders and comfort headrests to the second-row captain's chairs.

GT
Exact feature content for the new high-output GT model was not available at the time of this writing, but we expect standard content to mirror that of the GT-Line. We do know, however, many of the GT's performance- and design-oriented upgrades. These include:

  • Dual electric motors all-wheel drive (501 hp)
  • Simulated engine noise and transmission shifts
  • Electronic limited-slip differential
  • Electronically controlled adaptive suspension
  • Special 21-inch wheels
  • Bigger brakes
  • Unique exterior design elements
  • Sport steering wheel
  • Front sport seats
  • Synthetic suede upholstery
  • Unique ambient lighting and neon green interior trim

Which 2026 EV9 trim does Edmunds recommend?

We recommend the Wind trim level. Although its feature content additions are modest over the Light, its considerable power increase makes a big difference in the big, heavy EV9. That said, if you'll mostly be ferrying the kids around town, saving $6,000 by going with the Light Long Range wouldn't be a terrible idea.
