Best of the Bunch

This is our third Jeep from the Wrangler family. Love it so far. Best ride and functionality of the group (we still own the other two). They finally catered to those of us in the south and added functional A/C. The only downside is the vulnerability. We've been broken into 3 times in 3 weeks. I guess that's the drawback of the soft-top.

I love the Wrangler Unlimited. I believe that this is the first year they came out. The longer wheel base and extra cargo make this a more versatile Jeep than the standard Wrangler. The 15" wheels are substantial but could be bigger but the longer wheel base makes this a solid drive on or off-road. The straight six is more powerful than advertised or at least it feels that way. This is a fun drive with the Sunrider Top (front seat only pull back on top). I may get one of the newer Unlimiteds as well. Great ride with the only drawback for me being 16mpg city and 21mpg highway.

Bought mine for $13,688 base model with no radio, no rear seat, and no AC. Added radio & seat aftermarket for 1/7th what the dealer wanted. Not much power as the car is not geared right with a 2.4L 4cyl, but really fun to drive and own.

Overall, my little beast is a dream come true! I love everything about it (except the gas mileage, but that comes with the territory)! I put a 3.5" Super Flex Rubicon Express Lift Kit suspension lift and a 1.25" body lift to fit the 305x70x16 (original rims) tires. She's a little monster now! I couldn't have asked for a more fun vehicle to own and drive. Just driving around and watching the heads turn make me love it just that much more!

I love my Rubicon and there is no other stock SUV or 4x4 that can do what this Jeep can do on or off road. I have 31,500 miles on it and have not had any problems with it yet. I take it off road 2 or 3 times a month with member's of my Jeep group and more than a few of them have bought one because of how good it does on and off road.

Driving this vehicle is an experience unto it's own. Either you love it or you hate it. The little Jeep is extremely maneuverable. I mean extremely. It can get you out of tight spots like no other. The ride is rough and noisy, so accept that or get another vehicle. The 4WD is serious, not simply a show piece. The audio is good, the air is quite cold and powerful as is the heat.

It was a nice looking jeep miles low honest dealer no fees willing to ship to fl but he was honest and said it had a wobbly ground end and willing to drop the jeep price because of that. I’m older and was nervous to make a deal on a vehicle that needed work. I want for a every day driver

This is a highly capable off road vehicle that takes command of the situation. The ride and handling characteristics are what one should expect of a true off road vehicle. This vehicle is highly impractical for anything other than fun. But fun is what I bought it for!

I've had two other wranglers. This one is clearly the best of the best. I have had the chance to take it off road on several occations and it performed great. I'm always getting compliments on it. It gets more attention than my friends Corvette Z06. The only complaint is the gas mileage. @15-18mpg with manual trans. However, I knew that going into it. Get one before they stop making them. A true collectors item.

I have had my wrangler for 5 years, never had any problem whatsoever! It's fun to drive, great to put the top down and just go! We took it from Ohio to Tennessee, had a great time in the mountains,it goes anywhere. This jeep does much better than my hubby's ford truck in mud or snow, both 4wd. I'm hooked!

This is the easiest soft top ever to put up or take down..... Jeep has done another great job. A Jeep wave out to you all........

All of these reviews are starting to frustrate me. If you are looking for a cheap car that rides like a Cadillac Deville and has design like an Aston Martin Vanquish, give up. If you are one of those people who expect to get into a Wrangler and enjoy the same type of experience that you would have in a regular sedan, here is my advice to you: Give up. The Jeep Wrangler community is a special breed of automotive enthusiasts. That's why whenever Wrangler drivers pass each other on the street, they wave. Basically what it comes down to is that it's simply a Jeep thing, and you may or may not understand.

After less than 150 miles the rear brakes were making a metal to metal grinding noise. When I took it back to the dealer the service manager said, "It was driven with the parking brake on" (exact words). And the mechanic said, "Well, I prepped it and I didn't have the brake on." WHAT DO THEY THINK I AM? AN IDIOT? They had to order the replacement brake pads. When I returned the new pads were defective! Talk about standing behind your product. Not very good on poor highways. Had the tires knocked out of balanced twice within 1000 miles. I'm actually discouraged by my treatment by the service people. And I'm looking to get rid of it.

I love my 1998 Sahara Wrangler but after 66,000 miles it lives in the shop now. Every 10,000 miles - some thing breaks. 66,000 miles the Radator broke 70,000 the AC compressor siezed 74,000 the Exaust manafold craked 80,000 the clutch unit and other transmission parts needed to be replaced 90,100 - in the shop again - the computer is broken - they are trying to see what broke it.

I LOVE this vehicle! I've been in Wranglers before, but NEVER one like this! This vehicle is DEFINATELY for the more adventurous driver. Would recommend it to ANYONE! I was in an accident, hit by another driver - her fault, and man did those tires survive a beating! The wheel fenders took the impact, saving me from being smashed in by my driver's side door. I believe the Rubi saved my life!

For darn near forever we've wanted a REAL Jeep. I've had other 4X4's and an 85 4 Cyl Cherokee that was darn near impossible to destroy (other than self inflicted wounds). It took me everywhere I wanted to go and then some. Our Astro van had 0ver 200K on it and the wife said "Let's get me (meaning her)a Jeep". Eh....ok. Gave the van to the kids and we bought a Solar Yellow Rubicon, loaded. Wife went from Soccer Mom to "Who's yer Mommy?" Are we happy with it? Very much so! Her Jeep...MY payments and upkeep...But I did get to "Accesorize" it and I have weekend visitation rights!!! WOO HOO...I can live with that!

The Rubicon is everything I thought it would be, and more. It handles very well around town and thinks nothing of off-roading. Haven't had a chance to try the lockers out yet, but hopefully soon. Jeep has outdone themselves with the exterior styling of the Rubicon - between the Moab rims, diamond plate rocker guards and MTRs. The interior is simple, but attractive. I find the operation of the soft top to be quick and simple, despite what others say. My last vehicle was a '96 Cherokee Sport. The Rubicon, even with the soft top, is not much louder on the highway than the Cherokee was. The Rubicon is truly the essence of Jeep.

I've had my silver/black Rubicon now for just two weeks, but so far the experience has been great. When comparing this to a '95 Wrangler Sport 4.0L that I owned, I've noticed night and day differences in some areas. The soundproofing from road noise is much better! Interior comfort level is vastly better. The Sound System is HUGELY better (7 speaker system in the new one). The biggest difference, in a negative light, is that my new Rubicon is a Dog... I've got the 4.0L Inline 6, with the 5 speed manual tranny, and it's not quick by any means (my '95 was better). Not to mention the terrible gas mileage. On a positive note, Dual Tops are Great!

This truck is the only one of it's kind. You cannot imagine how it is good in off-road situation,ITS AMAZING , I have beat Hummers for real... I've tried it to a jeep jamboree...you cannot believe what the Rubi can do if you have never see it.The tires are great.I had put the Mopar light bar on it and the night doesn't exist anymore! Very Very great in winter,I tried it in winter because I'm from Montreal. Great for hardcore camping and expedition. The only machine that can bring you anywhere, that is convertible and that it as cool as a Mustang Cabra.

It's nice to go off roading, but it gets old quick, and I bought a second vehicle because it is simply impossible to live with on a daily basis. The MANUAL tranny had a factory defect and needed replaced ... all while the dealer took 3 weeks and provided no rental car, so I spent my Christmas and New Years with a $426 payment and no car! The vehicle had a fender bender too, and never ran right since, despite being fixed 3 times more. My driveshaft parts are very rusty, even though I live in one of the driest deserts on earth! The constant vibration on the freeway is the true reason I am trading this vehicle in, despite the loss I'll take. If you really want one, save $$$, buy used!
