Ruby my Jeep
New rear end unexpectedly @ 8000 miles. The new air lock broke while backing up a very small incline and one back wheel spun. Unable to unlock rear lock, towed to nearest dealer and warranty covered it. For a jeep built for off road, I was surprised by how little it took on road to break it. So far so good @ 9000 miles.
Rubicon after two years.....
Still very impressed with my Jeep. I lifted 3" (Rubicon Express) and put all sorts of plates underneath. Other than that it is stock and so far has gone everywhere I wanted to go. I have been on several 4 rated trails and have never been stuck. The lockers are great! I have only had one small mechanical problem with the front locker and the dealer fixed it in one day.

Jeep Rubicon
Surprisingly quiet, smooth ride in a rugged vehicle-an improvement over my old Wrangler Sport-only highway moise is the big treaded tires. Good, basic tried and true vehicle. Excellent off road capabilities-probably hte best stock vehicle ever built for orr-road, but not a bad daily driver, either. A little difficult to get kids in back with only one lifting seat, but otherwise fine. Lots of cuhy refinements over prior models.
rubicon's got some problems
i'm having transfer case problems at 451 miles out of the dealer. aft drive shaft, and speed sensor seal. been waiting a week to get the parts. i've read several reviews with the same problem. havn't even taken it off road yet, just to and from work. t case was nearly out of fluid, jeep won't replace it, that's great customer service for ya. i can only hope this is the last time i have problems, or i'll just let that t case leak all the way down until it burns up, then they'll be getting me one.

a little gutless 4 all the hype..after market chip, exaust, air brought it up to expectation...now a lift will be a killer road worthy, trail worthy, daily driver
Jeep wrangler sport 04
I love this car so much. It's so much fun. To sell this car will be a very sad day. With the amount of driving I do I need something a little more economical. It has been the best car I have ever owned.
Stuck with a Lemon
Would be fun to drive if I could get it to shift properly. I've been driving standard shift vehicles for 36 years. I've been getting a Loud "clink" when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear and from 2nd to 3rd gears. The service tech at the dealership told me that Chrysler changed transmissions in the 2003 & 2004 Jeeps. That they can not be fixed becase they all do it. It certainly takes the enjoyment out of driving it.
Delayed Review
Had this Wrangler Sahara for over 5 years. A very FUN car to drive, although not the comfortable one. Had hardtop and added U-haul hitch. Very classic looking. Small, but very easy to park and making turns. Very noisy with high speed, but that is expected with a Jeep. Never had any engine or mechanical related problem. I also love the tires with "Wrangler" brand (from Goodyear), as well as the high ride with this Jeep. Sahara line is well equipped. I only wish the sound insulation is little better. My hardtop is great, but removing it is difficult. People either love this or hate this car. There is no middle ground. (just as you never go to South Pole to see winter, not summer
I Love this vehicle
I have owned Jeeps my whole life and people ask me why I love them so much. They complain about the ride being too rough and it eating too much fuel. To me, however, a vehicle should be practical and fun to drive and that is what I love about the Jeep Wrangler; they are awesome off-road, sporty enough to drive around town, not to mention there are myriad configurations for the roof which is awesome since I live in Hawaii. But the thing I love the most is the fact that they haven't changed all that much in the past, once again proving the old mantra "if it aint broke don't fix it."
Jeep Rubicon
My new Rubicon almost immediately destroyed my life - my wife, and oldest son were constantly trying to take it away from me. I broke down and bought a second Wrangler for them to fight over - a 2003 Sport. I bought my first Jeep back in 1977. They have sure come a long way since then. Both my Jeeps are hard tops - they are asy to remove and the heater and A/C both work better. Gas mileage is unjustifiably poor - the excuses don't cut it. My bigger, heavier Suburban with a much bigger engine gets better mileage than either one of the Jeeps and there is nothing aerodynamic about a Suburban. Expect 15-17 TOPS!
I love my Jeep...kinda
It's got just about every disadvantage going for it. Mediocre to poor gas mileage (especially for a vehicle this small), bumpy/bouncy ride, noisier than a motorcycle, no cargo space, not a highway car AT ALL...despite all those things..it's got one huge ADVANTAGE...IT'S FUN AS HELL TO DRIVE.
great jeep
I have had this Jeep for 1 1/2 years. So far I love it. It is great in the mud or snow and I don't even have a lift on it. It is marginal at interstate speeds. Rough riding but that is expected. You learn to love it. The worst part is that the engine is underpowered. I added a Banks Cold Air Intake and that helped out a lot. I hope to put a cat-back exhaust system on soon. Great fun in the summer with the top and doors off.
Great fun, 4cyl grossly underpowered
The Wrangler SE is loads of fun to own and drive. However, the 4cyl motor is grossly underpowered. Lags very badly on the steep California hills with an empty cargo. Fuel mileage should be much better for a 4cyl. I average about 15.7 mpg with the top down and 17.9 with the top on.
Timeless
Holds its Value with minimum depriciation! Everyone loves to ride in it. It handles so bad with 2 straight axles on springs with fat balloon tires its actualy fun to drive!
Rubicrap
Although the Rubicon looks great and boasts hard-core options such as the 4:1 transfer case, Dana 44s, lockers, etc., I have found the quality of the vehicle to be too poor to justify buying this vehicle (in retrospect). In the three months I have owned the Jeep it has been in the shop five times for transfer-case and rear differential work, including two complete transfer case replacements! Save yourself the headache and buy an old Jeep (before Chrysler got a hold of them), buy quality aftermarket options, and install them yourself.
i dont know about this...
I'm going to be accosted for this but... I hate driving this thing, it is in perfect condition and all but it is HELL on the highway! You feel like the wind is going to take you and flip you over and It has almost happened a few times. It wont move in snow unless its in 4X4. Don't get caught in a snow storm on the highway because driving in 4wd on the highway is scary also. Overall its a very dangerous vehicle if you do a lot of highway driving. The newer ones address those problems and its not as bad but do be careful, and choose wisely if you are going to drive this on the highway. Also my local dealer is full of scammers and traveling salesman.
Do Not Buy!!!
Do not buy a Jeep Wrangler! Most importantly, do not buy an X model with half doors! Especially do not buy one in silver with black soft top! And do not even think of buying the Columbia Edition! It's all mine and you can't have any! You would be happier with an SUV of some sort (it's a jeep thing).
Jeep Wrangler Columbia Edition
I got my Jeep in January of 2004. It warmed up quickly and stayed warm despite sub-zero temperatures outside. I have not noticed any excessive noise associated with the soft top. It is louder than a hard top vehicle but it isn't annoying. Driving with the top down is a wonderful feeling. I love my Jeep!
Spence loves his jeep!
Is it love? I think it is! My jeep never ceases to exite me with the confidence inspiring performance put out by the solid straight six engine nestled in the front of the car. This engine, not found in any other Chrysler brand, puts out a more than adaquite 190 hp and an exhilarating 210 ft/lbs of torque. Though this is certainly no road car, being far more suitable for off-roading, it still is a hoot to drive. I also love the fact that It makes most of its torque at IDLE and that it's 4WD low gear ratios turn its 210 ft/lbs into more like 600 for truly incredible off road ability.
Still the best 4x4 on the road
As a previous Jeep owner, I had an idea of what I was getting into, but after buying and driving my new 2004 Wrangler, I found that it was a whole new beast. The engine feels very beefy, lots of power. I opted for the 4-speed auto, which is IMHO the biggest enhancement of these new models. The interior is much quieter when driving at highway speed. If you're looking for a fun 4x4 convertible, this is your only option. If you need to haul, well, anything, this is not for you (very limited storage space).
THE JEEEEP!
this car is an all around off-road monster. you can take it anywhere, anytime.if you want a cheap, realiable, off-road, fun to drive car, this is it.
Jeep 4 Life
Best Car. No Doubt
They still make Jeeps like they used to.
Jeep Wranglers rule! I bought my '04 Sahara a month ago, and it is incredible. The only 4X4 that I could find that wasn't made mostly of plastic. They cut all the gadgets and gizmos. I knew going into it that 16-18MPG would be normal, so I can't complain. The engine is powerful, stock suspension is very capable on trails. I found it interesting that people said the freeway drive is too bouncy and noisy. With the hard top on, it is just as quiet as my wife's Integra, the soft top isn't bad either. It is very smooth on freeways. Yeah, when you hit bumps on smaller roads, you do bounce a little, but it is a Jeep! Take it off-roading and you will see what I mean.
Better Get Ear Plugs...
This is a very competent vehicle, for off-roading, but as a daily driver it leaves much to be desired. The Goodyear MTR tires howl like a lonely dog wishing for the moon. The wind noise is certainly there, but you wouldn't know thanks to the tires. You also need to choose your back seat passengers with care, as they may need to be extra nimble to get in and out. The performance is lack luster at best, with the engine attempting to lug around 3700+ pounds, which also offsets any hope of reasonable gas mileage. It will get down and dirty in the off road enviorment, but other than that, you should have limited expectations.
Wrangler X
This is one type of car/truck/SUV that everyone wants. We have owned sports cars, trucks and minivans but I have always wanted a Wrangler. This is the most fun you can have in anything out there. We live in NE Ohio about 60 miles south of Lake Erie. Just last week it was 72 degrees on a Friday and 10 inches of snow on Sunday morning. Our Wrangler has handled everything our weather has thrown at us. From winter snows to the top down fun in the summer; you just can't find that in any other SUV.
Jeep Wrangler
I have been a proud Jeep owner since 1998 and I wouldn't trade my Jeep in for anything in this world! I love it. It has been the best thing I have ever driven. You go Jeep!!
Mag's review
I think everyone should own a Jeep
Wrangler X model
I have owned 8 wranglers over the years. They are the most reliable go anywhere vehicle around. Owning a Jeep Wrangler is a love affair. There is no in between. It's off road capability is the best I have seen. Its rugged, good looking in a boxy kind of way.
My Jeep Wrangler
It's a very very nice car sporty looking and fun to drive and jsut ride out with friends in !
Great for what it does.
This is THE BEST offroad vehicle stock, period. I wish it had a bit of a lift and a little wider tires, but I can understand that lawyers are involved. But its a great platform to build on with stock lockers, Dana44 axles, beefy transfer case, etc. Make no mistake, this is built for offroad, so it won't ride like a minivan. Lots of the features are for offroad only. (For the guy who "broke" his lockers...never, never, never, never use the lockers on-road. Ever. The fact that you have to shift into 4Low and not driving faster than 10mph should be a clue they were intended for rock crawling, not grocery getting).
I love this thing!
I bought my jeep a few weeks ago and already it has lived up to the "Jeep" name. I wouldn't want another vehicle. Very pleasent dealing with the great staff over at Hall Jeep, Va Beach. Thumbs up guy's. Would buy another in a heartbeat. Just can't afford it now:)
Jeep for fun
If you want a fun automobile, the Jeep Wrangler Sport is for you. The kids love it. Its fun to drive, and easy to park. It is built like a tank. Sold steel construction, with a sturdy roll bar. Probably one of the safest convertables that you could ever own.
2004 Jeep Wrangler Sahara
The last Jeep I owned was a 1991 Wrangler. This 2004 Wrangler is a greatly improved automobile. The fuel economy could be better for its size...but overall I am very please with the purchase. No buyers remorse...
My Rubicon
What a Jeep! Took it off raod and WOW! Couldn't get it stuck if i tried. Crawled over rocks, ledges, did off camber runs. Just fantastic. Got mine with the dual tops and paid 23,500 after rebates. I have had offroad vehilces for over 20 years and this is the best bar none!
GREAT VEHICLE
AWESOME VEHICLE!!!!!! GREAT FUN TO DRIVE AROUND AND DEPENDABLE TO BOOT..
Love the Jeep Wrangler
I love this vehicle. I just "downgraded" from a Ford F150 that I owned for six years. The F150 was huge, safe, and had tons of cargo space. The Jeep is a huge improvement. Better seats that support my back, easy to park, convertible, corners without throwing things around the cabin, stops more easily, and still has tons of torque and power. What it lacks in practicality, it makes up for in its near-motorcycle fun factor without the requisite organ donation.
Jeep Rubicon
I am very excited about my new Rubicon, I have had it in the colorado mountains and it's performance was unsurpassed. I went where other jeeps could not and with ease. I have owned 2 other jeeps in the past, but this Rubicon (stock) is awesome.
New Jeep Wrangler Sport
I bought this as a second car; primarily for the snow, sun and fun. I expect my son will be driving this vehicle in the past so I also consider safety, roll-over and fun. The jeep itself is larger inside than I expected for the driver and front passenger. It is tight in the back and there is very limited trunk space, but it still works for me.
Wranglers are the best
Jeep Wranglers are the best all terrain and all season vehicle. You can 4x4 in the snow during the winter and drive in the sand with the top off in the summer. The only thing is, you have to be into the ruggedness of a Jeep. It's not for anyone looking for luxury. It's fun, reliable and one of a kind.
Solid as a rock
Fun,solid and go anywhere vehicle. People that like jeeps buy jeeps...people that are looking for a cutsie mobile look elsewhere.
It's a Jeep
I just bought this January 2010 as my first Jeep (SE trim, 5-speed manual). Overall I dig it, but I you gotta be sort of a Jeep fan to in my opinion. The ride is harsh (more bumpy than the average car, and the wind noise can be unbearable if you're just getting out of a Cobalt or anything other quiet car ride). On the other hand, from what I've seen, they're pretty reliable (I know mine is), and off roading is great alongside the many many accessories from tops to lift kits, you name it, there's probably an accessory for the jeep and that's always great!
TJS OPINION
LOVE IT, FUN TO DRIVE, ESPECIALLY IN FLORIDA. GET ME THROUGH HEAVY RAIN AND PUDDLES
I love my Jeep.
I love my Jeep Wrangler. It's the best car you can have. You've got the best of both worlds, it's a SUV and a convertible. What more could you want?
Jeep wrangler sport
Love riding around in a jeep
fun fun fun jeep
great performance! good fuel millage! easy removable top! great 7 speaker radio! our second jeep great improvments on a verry old design. fun fun fun fun
nice SUV
the hood should open from inside and the fuel cap should have a safe key.
I Love My Rubicon!!!
I owned a loved my 90 Jeep Wrangler and just bought a 2004 Rubicon!! What a difference in the ride!!! I love my Rubicon and will always have one!!! Can't beat them!!!
Great enjoyable 4WD.
Very ejoyable in many outdoors aspects
i love my wrangler
people that don't own wranglers are doubtful - doubtful that a convertible is warm enough in the winter - well, it's been in the negative temps for two weeks straight and i can honestly tell you, my jeep starts every morning and takes less time than our other vehicles to warm up. people are doubtful they are safe - we live in the snow belt of upstate new york, it is very rare, in fact i have never seen a jeep wrangler in a ditch, usually it is the wrangler pulling another vehicle out. i am 40 years old and have owned two wranglers, i will never be happy without one.
Florida Vehicle
Brought it home and removed the top on New Years Day...still topless! Only way to go. Surprised on how nice the ride is compared to the older models.
