2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee Consumer Reviews

Big upgrade from my 4Runner
Made the switch from 2013 4Runner (great car and my son now drives it) to Grand Cherokee since no new 4Runners currently for sale and bare bones Land Cruiser was almost 50% more than a Limited GC. Land Cruiser interior is almost all hard plastics—Toyota jacking up prices while going cheaper on materials. Happy with the Jeep so far. It’s got awesome value, great features on the Limited and the UConnect has been great. I’m 6’3” and like that it is nimble to drive but has plenty of room for me (with grown kids I don’t need a 3 row SUV). Mileage so so but that’s been the only con so far; when they upgrade to Hurricane engine that will be fixed. Overall very happy and surprised Jeep doesn’t give the press Limited examples to drive so they can see how great an option it is at the price point. I do wish Jeep would offer 4Lo on Limited package but that’s just a suggestion not a deal breaker. UPDATE: I used to work at the assembly plant where my new Jeep GC was built. So I really wanted to love my new Jeep. But in just seven months it's already been towed to the dealership, spent almost two weeks at the dealership over two visits due to a dead battery and then a misaligned hood rubbing the fender. I'm now battling with the customer care to get the paint damage from the hood resolved. Overall, it's been an extremely disappointing ownership experience. Keep your sanity and buy Toyota/Lexus/Honda/Acura instead of dealing with this. This Jeep has already been in the shop more than my 10+ year old 4Runner and MDX combined! Jeep leadership should be ashamed of themselves.

Better than most
It has everything you need and then some. Very quiet and easy to drive. Plenty of headroom. Plenty of space. Passenger can surf the Internet on the dash monitor and the driver can't see it. All passengers have controls for AC and music.

Bought a ‘24 Altitude X. So far so good, shifts good, good acceleration/power, steeering/handling. Pretty decent MPG for a naturally aspirated V6. I’m kind of disappointed that the altitude x doesn’t come with the Selec–Terrain System or a version of it. I should be able to choose between Snow, Rain, Mud, Etc… My 15 year old mid level truck has these options. One thing I also noticed a few days after purchasing is it came with the 20” wheels but the spare was an 18” wheel. Pretty ridiculous that they wouldn’t give me a matching size spare.

A true luxury SUV in a smaller package
Did a lot of research after I got burned by the low quality on my GLE 580 and chose the Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve. Considered the Grand Wagoneer, but don't really need the larger size. Very pleased with the Gr. Cher. Interior is gorgeous. McIntosh sound system is incredible. Controls and infotainment interface are top notch. More extras than I can mention, such as nighttime infrared warning. Only buy gas every other week (first time that's ever happened.) Engine is sufficiently powerful, although I probably would have gone with the V8 if it had been available. Haven't had any problems, which is amazing considering the complexity of the vehicle. Noticed Jeep raised the price from $70 to $80K after I bought, omg, but still cheaper than the Range Rover Sport Autobiography at $120K.

Poor & Slow Electronics
SUV does not follow driver "Profile" settings - you never know what to expect. Engine, shifting and braking are less than sophisticated - by far. Dealer incompetence is unbelievable - like they never saw a Grand Cherokee before. UPDATE: 2024 Limited with Luxury Tech package. Basically, electronics are (put kindly) crazy. We never know what to expect from AC settings to seat positions. Every time we start the car, we have to check what all settings have been changed. Many trips to dealer later, the dealer encouraged us to file a lemon law case against Jeep. Another person at the dealership said they couldn't get help from Jeep as Jeep didn't care. Bottom line, avoid all Stelantis autos!
