Used 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV Consumer Reviews
Absolutely LOVE this SUV!
I am shocked to read anything negative about this car. We bought it as our fifth Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. We had bought used Grand Cherokee Limited's as back up cars to my husband's Corvette's and his Jaguar F-Type, and whatever sedan I was driving - Volvo, Lincoln, Mercedes, Lexus, and now a Jaguar XJ. The current Jeep was always given to our son when he went off to college, and we bought another one, until the youngest son went to college. When he left, we bought the 2014 Overland, and it is the best Jeep we have ever owned - we love it! We drive it more than our Jags, and love everything about it! We have had not major mechanical issues, and no problems at all with our local dealership. The only thing I wish this car had that our last Grand Cherokee Ltd had is passenger side memory seat - I was really shocked to find that it does not when it is actually a higher grade model. But everything else about it is so over the top that I learned to live with it. The blind side monitors, rear camera, park assist, heated/air conditioned/reclining front and rear seats, heated steering wheel, great navigation screen, I just LOVE this SUV! The color is beautiful, trim package inside and out is gorgeous, and six years later it still looks brand new - inside and out. After owning four before this one, we looked at so many other options before buying another Jeep - yet nothing even came close - no question about it. We just cannot imagine anyone being unhappy with this vehicle!

Still Going Strong.
Good: I really like my Laredo 4x4 v6. Good gas mileage, Paddle shifters, tows my boat no problem. Nice simple styling inside and out. My Laredo doesn't have the adjustable dial (snow, sport etc.) Like the overland. But it does have regular and sport modes and it is very easy to switch the two. The regular mode is for economy and shifts and accelerates slower I don't tow in this mode. This is by design for good gas mileage. I think many reviewers don't understand this. Switch to sport mode and she pulls solidly and the transmission is more responsive. Cons: lots of computer reprogramming recalls. one break recall. All free fixes. Just had to take time to do it. No car rental from dealer. Resale vs. Wrangler, wrangler holds value longer. Overall a good car after recalls done. Still solid at 86000 miles.

good at everything
2014 model. Test drove all engines. Ended up w/v6 for fuel costs. Does good at everything. Got the quadralift air suspension & towing package options. Surprised how well v6 did towing 7k-lb cement trailer at freeway speeds and full of passengers... very stable ride & didn't sag at all. 20" rims handle well on pavement and not bad at all w/AT grappler2 tires offroad. Nasty muddy rutted rocky road up to the cabin.. no prob...just click the button and jacks it up almost 4" for clearance. (got $100 skid plate for piece of mind) Quiet, comfortable ... etc. It's the everything vehicle I needed. I love the high depreciation after the first year. ... bought it 1yr old and saved $25k (50% off) still looks runs brand new. Had 2.5yrs now.. no issues. (favorite feature is adaptive cruise used daily).

Don't buy a 2014 Grand Cherokee!!
I LOVED this car for the first couple years but literally the month my warranty ran out, things started breaking. First a $350 fix for some fuse in the starter. I had to get it towed to the dealership to fix. Now today, it wouldn't accelerate properly and change gears properly (it'd be at 6th gear going 20 mph, then 4th and 5th gear when at a stop. It ended up being a $40 part for a oil pressure switch and $455 of labor!!!!!! The gas mileage sucks, and the maintenance costs are terrible. Just steer clear of these vehicles. I've had this car since Sept 2013 and it has 53k miles on it. I've kept up with all maintenance. The stock tires major sucked so replaced those at 30k miles.

Beware! Poor quality + poor customer service!
I purchased my Grand Cherokee new in September of 2014. As of today, it has spent over 35 days at the dealer for numerous issues - transmission, radiator, gps, bluetooth, brake recall, electrical recall, rusting of tow hooks, water pump, interior door panels broken from the factory. Jeep has refused to negotiate under the New Jersey Lemon Law and has kept me waiting since August. I was also promised that customer care would call this week after my Jeep spent 10 days waiting for a radiator and water pump. Still no answer. Fiat/Chrysler/Jeep have the worst quality as per the latest Consumer's Report that came out last week - and the worst customer relations in the business!
