Don't believe ConsumerReports.org rating

I was very hesitant to purchase the Grand Cherokee Limited due to the low ratings it received from ConsumerReports.org, but after test driving the car and going over the specifications personally, I have no doubt that this is a great SUV. The quality is great, and the value is even greater. I do have to admit that I am a slave to great marketing, but everything a Jeep represents it can do, I now have the option of doing so.

I replaced my 93 Grand Cherokee Ltd (110k miles)with this 2004 Grand Cherokee Ltd 8 cyl. It is classy, rides like a dream, and makes heads turn. Altho it is not good on gas- I could care less--it's a pleasure to drive and puts you back in the seat when you need to pass.

Laredo vs. Special Edition

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Rwd 4dr SUV (4.0L 6cyl 4A)

This is my 3rd Cherokee in the last 3 years. My first two were Laredos and this is my first Special Edition Model and so far, I can say that I like this model. If you're curious about the difference, I can tell you that the Special Edition 2WD model has the body style of the Limited model, (about $10,000 more on the MSRP), but its interior features are that of the Laredo model. I've been really content with my last Cherokee and decided to trade up to the Special Edition. You won't be dissapointed if you choose this model. The ride is incredibly smooth, handles great on the open highway, and the gas mileage is reasonable compared to other larger SUV's.

Best Jeep Yet

Just traded in my '00 Grand Cherokee Laredo for the '04 Overland. It's hard to find another SUV that combines all the features and extras of the Overland for such a good price. The engine is strong although quite thristy...what do you expect from a V8? The seats are much improved from my old Laredo. The off-road performance is great. Already used the new quadra-drive system to pull my buddies explorer out of the mud!
