Great Vheicle
4wd capable with a great ride. Quality has been perfect and I love it.
Another Great Jeep
It is an all in one package for any man with luxury and outdoors in mind. Lots of horsepower and torque. Quadra-Trac II is exceptional and extremely responsive. I am dying to take it offroad, though.

2004 Overland one year later.
The love affair continues. Looking great, running great and the only problem so far, the voltmeter quit working. On order with the dealership. Coming from San Diego back to Arizona, there is a steep, long, descending and winding road. BMW X5 with low profile tires tried to loose me at speeds nowhere close to legal. He will for ever remember graphite Overland, and its oversized custom exhaust pipe.
Better than 2001 V6
I traded my 2001 Limited Grand Cherokee 2WDw/V6 engine for 2004 2WDw/V8. I love the way that it drives. I totally disagree w/ Edmonds that it rides like a truck, and so does everyone else that I talk with. The V8 with 5 speed transmission is much more fun to drive and very smooth; IMO.The styling is great inside and out.I did have a number of problems with my 2001, but I believe that Jeep has strived hard for better quality in recent years.
Good Jeep
My wife and I purchased our GC LTD new and have generally enjoyed it. It has a nice smooth ride, and with the 4.7L V- 8, accelerates very quickly. My wife drives mainly in town and averages 14MPG, though on longer trips we have averaged as high as 23 MPG. We have had some recurrent problems, such as with window seals shrinking and front brake rotor problems. Jeep replaced the front brakes a couple of years ago under recall and have had no problems since, including no brake dust! We also had a heated seat burn through, but with some fighting Jeep repaired the seat. Overall, I would recommend the Grand Cherokee.
