Used 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Consumer Reviews
TAKE GOOD CARE OF THEM AND THEY WILL RUN FOREVER
bought my first one at the turn of the millenium. now twenty years later, it has a bit of minnesota rust from all of the salt but the engine is strong and so is the transmission. front rotors literally rusted off this vehicle from the salt but new Nakamoto's were put on and it carries on. biggest issue in this wet PNW area is the moisture incessantly attacking it, parked outside they never seem to ever dry out at all. Best to keep dessicant on the dash and keep that recharged each week lest you start to condense way too much moisture in the car. those rear vents are there to allow the occupants to breathe but they can be an issue in wet places like the PNW is. Anyway, with an MSD6A on her, she got 25 plus MPG on the highway, and get this, I ran Bosch Platinum plugs in her for 14 years and she still started. Of course they were worn pretty badly but due to the MSD6A, they still fired. best place for that is to mount it under the wiper arm plastic shrowd on the passenger side, as there is nowhere in the engine compartment for it to keep it cool. Note: water pumps, radiators, and alternators are about al you'll change on these other than the oil. Using LUCAS oil stabilizer, it stopped the oil consumption in it's tracks and the lifters sound less clacky and it just runs like a scalded dawg. Just an amazing vehicle even with the VIC cold solder joint issues and the leaky caps that make the overhead mileage computer and compass not work. All in all the best vehicle I have ever owned, so I bought a second one one year newer because they're just bullet proof. Second one has the 318 C.I. v8, 5.2 Litre engine in it, and yep, it needs the shifter linkage grommet at 221k miles but it's still on it's original MOPAR water pump!!! Oh, forgot to mention the electric fuel pump on the 4.0L one went out at 157k miles, and required the tank to be dropped to change that. Nothing beats these older jeeps. NOTHING!
Great SUV
I have had this Jeep for about 5 years now and it is one of the best that I have ever owned. It offers a great ride, comfortable seating for everyone, and very easy to work on in my driveway. I live in Wisconsin and some times the snow plows just can't keep up. This Jeep has been able to walk right through everything. Very good quality and design. Currently has 171,000 miles on it and it still runs like a Swiss watch!

Long lasting V-6
I purchased this vehicle with 40k on it and now have 158k. It has been a reliable vehicle with good safety features for a car made in 93 (air bag, brakes). The interior has held up very well and it still handles like a new one. It is noisy inside especially during gear shifting at lower speeds. Overall it is a tough vehicle.
My Jeep
I love the all wheel drive! Snow, mud, water; just point and go. Plenty of power, not so good on the gas; basically it likes gas and loves to drink it. We take it snow boarding all the time and we've never had a problem.
Wish it were brand new
Like the size and driver visibility. The features are good. The motor has a 180k miles on it and uses a qt of oil every 1500. Hoping to drive it for another 16 months and then buy something newer (or new).
