I recently rented a Compass Trailhawk for a Vegas trip. We drove all over Vegas, city and freeway. I. The City, it has a severe acceleration delay. The Compass shuts off at stop to save gas. If you creap, it will keep the engine running, but even with the engine running there is a long delay in acceleration. So much so that I waited for much larger gaps in traffic than I would in other cars. On the freeway the Compass feels very unstable, it is overly sensative and very twitchy. Curving freeway interchanges were fun, had to slow down more than usual to avoid the walls. It just felt terrible. Hard acceleration was interesting too, the Compass pulled terriblely and required constant steering correction. Fuel milage was 24-25 mpg, 75% freeway driving. The seats were nice, the steering wheel had some poor stiching that was sticking out. That car had less than 5000 miles on it. Maybe there was something wrong with the Compass I drove, this thing was the worst vehicle I have ever driven.
