Worst Jeep I've had

My 2015 Jeep has the V6 with that stupid stop/start feature, I hate this. If you forget to turn it off each time you start the jeep at the first stop sign it shuts off, always catches me off guard. Next is the so called 4WD, wrong it's front wheel all the time and it's supposed to kick in the rear when needed. Even in the snow or mud mode front wheels spin like crazy. I bought my first jeep in 1977 and I've had 6 different models and my wife has had 7 Grand Cheerokes, I'll never have another Cheeroke like this one. Can't wait till my wife wants a new Grand Cheeroke so I can have her old one (2014) and get rid of my 2015 Cheeroke. Update couldn't wait any longer-traded it in on a Dodge Ram.

The 2015 Cherokee only has recalls on days that end in y! Constant recalls and transmission problems with this POS! Half a dozen visits to the dealer for a transmission problem that they say they cannot reproduce. Then, the entire transmission needed to be replaced. Now the trans is slipping again and frequently "slams" into gear. Only 25000 miles on this heap! Two more trips to the dealer and "cannot find a problem". Problem is I bought a Chrysler product. Or, should I say a Fiat. I would tell them to "Fix It Again, Tony" if they would fix it. A friend had the same vehicle and dumped it off on CarMax. Will be trading this Jeep in before the warranty is up. And NOT on another Chrysler product!

From day one it has been nothing but trouble! From the transmission to the tires to the gas. Where do I even begin. 30K later I have a piece of crap that btw has been babied and taken care of since day one and it had a transmission failure 3 months into owning it. That happened 3 times before the warranty gave out. Then there was the tires... they lasted all of about 1 1/2. Im not an off roader by any means nor do I have extensive city driving with pot holes. But yet treads down to nothing and now chunk missing. Great and lastly the check engine light. That has come on because the suv is running so rough that it feels as if we are sliding down a cliff on your bum. I want mention all the minor things that have ben a headache as well so just do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS CAR LIKE THE PLAUGE!

Solid Review of 2015 Jeep Cherokee

My wife and I were very excited when we purchased our first Jeep product, a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited. During the first two years the only thing I noticed was that it shifted a little rough. I took it to the dealer to check it out and was told, "It's a Jeep. They are a rugged, comfortable vehicle and they shift hard". It only went downhill from there. The shifting continued to get rougher and started really clunking when going into reverse. Again the dealer told me, It's a Jeep ...". I began thinking if this is how a Jeep operates, it's my last. Then the radio started blanking out and if you have seen one of these, everything is controlled by the radio. When you shut it down for a minute then turned it back on, it would work again, for awhile. The dealer gave me the gears saying they could find nothing wrong - like it was my imagination or something. I pushed the issue and made them change it while it was under warranty. In year 6 the PTU crapped out. That was a $3600 repair job. Now in year 7 the radio has died again, a $1500 replacement cost and the steady bearing in the drive shaft is shot, another $1500. My wife wants to sell it now. If anyone is interested, I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited for sale. Great vehicle if you don't want to listen to music, or use the GPS, or make any electronic adjustments with the radio. It rides very nice, lots of power, decent towing capacity. It does have a slight grinding noise in the front end and it shifts hard but, Hey - its a Jeep ...

2015 models with v6 engine idle rough and have an automatic engine stop switch that shuts engine off at stop lights. Wear and tear on starter over the life of the car must be significant. Had ours at dealership for four days with 575 miles only to be told the rough idle is the nature of the vehicle and is normal operation. We drove at least four more Cherokees and all had the rough idle, some worse than ours. It is so bad that we traded back at a substantial loss just to get out of it. Beware, if you test drive a v6 Cherokee, make sure to drive it enough to get it to operating temperature and observe the automatic shut down and then put it in park and check the idle. Good luck after that!

This is actually the 3.2L V-6 model. Will never own another Jeep product again. 4 recalls and one "campaign" fix issue later; on the third radio now, as well as a transmission leak. This vehicle has been in the shop longer than all my previous vehicles combined in 24 years of driving experience. Transmission shift is still horrible after several computer updates, now at 43k miles it has started to leak on my garage floor. Headed back in for service once again

Didn’t expect to fall in Love with Jeep

I was initially disappointed cause I couldn’t get all the bells&whistles my previous Dodge had. I was actually mad at “her” for almost a year! My eyes were finally opened when we had our 1st snowfall in 2016 & I realized the benefit of 4WD. Then I realized how fantastic the fuel economy was compared to my Dodge Journey R/T. In addition my Jeep has been extremely dependable & I believe only had 1 or 2 recalls for very simple things. I would say my favorite thing about her is the 6 Cylinder 289 HP (I believe that’s accurate) she gets up & goes without any hesitation. I have a heavy foot so I like my car to have that ability, when needed, or just for fun! Overall I am sad that my lease is up & our time is over. If the buyout wasn’t ridiculous I would totally have bought her, just on a strict budget currently. This has been my family car for almost 4 years. It held up to having 3 kids, 2 who are messy, sloppy teenagers, & a Chiweenie who wants to go on every single car ride (and mostly does)! The cloth interior held its own, however that would also be my only negative comment. I hated the fabric used for cloth in this vehicle. Every single hair from my clothes or dog weave into the fabric. It’s damn near impossible to get it out! I keep about 4 lint rollers in the Jeep so I can keep interior clean but also to remove hair that transfered back to any dark clothing we wore. Also almost forgot, the UConnect has a mind of its own. Half the time it won’t connect, there doesn’t seem to be a particular trick to fix it either. Used to turn vehicle off & back on but it doesn’t help. I believe it’s based on if your phone connects to the UConnect App. But the stock radio sounds like garbage as I guess does any stock radio, but I’ve had days where even the radio wouldn’t come on wouldn’t do ANYTHING! Definetly needs more thought & effort on Chrystler’s behalf. Even in my Journey with the upgraded sound system that sounded amazing, the connection was almost rare. It works when it feels like it is the best I can say.

We purchased this vehicle in May of 2015. About 1600 miles in the Transmission "sensor" failed and the ENTIRE transmission needed to be replaced. Ouch. This didn't settle well with me, but I let the dealership have a go at fixing it and they were able to replace it within 5 days and we got a loaner vehicle so it wasn't THAT much of a problem. We all know these cars have transmission issues NOW lol. Here we are at 47,533 miles and there hasn't been an issue since then with the Transmission, HOWEVER, the HVAC motor blower have recently been giving us problems. It works when it wants to. The check engine light has come on and every time I take it to the dealer the light turns off and there's "Nothing we can do except check the code" when I take it in haha! This is pretty much normal for every dealership. They want to see the check engine light ON. I figured out that it's the blower motor so I bought a replacement and am waiting for it to come in to see if replacing it works. It could also be the module that conrols the motor so we'll see. I was able to file a claim to have the dealership look at the issue but I got impatient and want to try to fix it myself. It's not expensive. Other than those two issues the car has been pretty much perfect. We average about 25-26 combined mpg's which is great (according to onboard diagnostics). The bluetooth SOMETIMES has a hard time connecting to my wifes phone but it's not a big deal. Just have to do it manually. I give it a 4 star because I feel 3 is too harsh and 5 is too kind considering our initial problem and current one haha! Road noise is fine. Engine noise is quiet. We like the vehicle in the end. About to try to sell because family is getting bigger.

The transmission is horrible and the dealership says it is as designed and make no effort to correct the problem. Our 16 year old was driving it and at times it would lurch foreword for no reaso, it is an accident waiting to happen. The shift lever is easy to bump and if a passenger turns to the back seat it is easy to knock it from drive to neutral. There is no lockout. The fuel mileage is horrible, worse than my Challenger 5.7 Hemi, and the stall feature at stops is dangerous considering when you start the transmission can lurch foreword. The Navigstion is inaccurate and inferior to the Dodge as is the entertainment package. The Cargo area is small and the seats uncomfortable. The car is a nuicense and a safety hazard and resale shows how poor the car is. We just traded it in on a Chevy because, in my opinion, it is too dangerous to drive. This car also has unending recalls resulting in uncompensated lost work and expense taking it to an uncaring dealer.

A couple stupid built-in functions: You can’t turn the radio off. You mute it, on restart, it’s on. You can only turn down the volume. Bluetooth favors Android. Syncing to an iPhone can take minutes. Drives a little stiff, but, I suppose it is a truck. Recently, 70,000 miles about, there is a greasy smell coming from the heater. Looks like the heater core is a real project to replace. I just need to take the box apart, as there might be a critter in there. Only problems to date, since new, are the driver window controls became erratic when it was left open and it rained. There was an engine light, can’t remember what it was. The dealer said this and that needed to be changed. Cabin filter, etc. it was few hundred to fix. And, they (dealer) broke the housing latch on the cabin filter door. Now I find this hole in the floor behind the brake pedal going outside! I’m complaining about these little things, but I see other reviews much worse. I don’t think I’d buy another. I bought a new Saturn in 95’ and changed a battery and brake light on it in 101,000 miles. Even the tires and brakes were original!

I have a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Limited with the 2.4 L 4 cylinder engine, automatic transmission and 4x2 with (as today) 57,200 miles and NOTHING has gone wrong with it :) And I do have to add, I drove my car in Mexico's streets that have at least 1 bump (hole) per block. I do know that closing to the 60K I'll to replace engine & trans mounts and maybe some suspension parts. But for a 5 year old car driven in Mexico's streets, it's not unsual. I know I'll have to expend close to 3,000 Dlls. But I'm very happy with the car. I DO RECOMEND IT ;)

Transmission is a bit rough. auto start is a pain. Car is easy to drive in town driving but a little harsh for cross country. Great choice for a Tag car behind RV. Easy to haul 4 wheels down. Been 80% happy with choice. No major repairs for 87,000 miles but repairs are expensive. Very peppy with the 6 cyl. engine. Easy to park in crowed lots.

I bought my 2015 Jeep Cherokee on October 2014,since the beginning the car was jumping every time I came into a stop, after some months of the dealer trying to fix that with uptades and Crusler giving me oil changes to make me feel better about it( I payed cash for the car) it started running very nice, I loved it, this month with only 27.000 miles on the car the transmission died on me in the middle of the road( all these year many times the engine light came on and off, the dealer said it's nothing),now I had to pay $ 9.500.00 to replace the transmission, everyone advised me not to fix it it was almost 9 years old even if it only had low mileage, I liked the car and I'm upset that I had to buy another companies car now, but all the recalls and what happened to me I just don't trust Clysler anymore( they couldn't do anything because it was out of warranty. An expense that I wasn't expecting yet

Good car. Transmission issues are true though

Good car and good on gas. It’s been mechanically reliable and never left me stranded but between that and ride comfort that’s where all I can be is frustrated with how it shifts at low speeds especially in cold weather. Tons of slack as soon as I put the car in drive or reverse and rocks excessively in park. I recommend just hitting the parking brake when you park it. The screen also went out and is functional but has no display after 60k miles. I’m now at 110k and it runs fine but has had the same issues since almost new. Highway driving it’s a great car and all of the comforts are great. All I can say is transmission transmission transmission. You would think there would be a fix as early as this happens with these cars.

Garage Membership Needed

For the many ebdless times I've had to take this thing into the dealer garage they should offer garage lifetime memberships. Holy @#$%! this vehicle has issues! You name it : electrical, tramsmission, 4 banger engine absolutely sucks (I keep the tranny setting in sport mode, which is ok) constant alignment/suspension issues (trust me, not due to operator error), expensive navigation map updates. I remember the hype for this vehicle in 2015 when it debuted and I REGRET giving in & rushing out to buy and NOT waiting a year or 2. Avoid this Jeep year & model & avoid the headaches.

I like my car but yes transmission was hard to adjust to. This car has issues but have all been because of the changes. The driver makes the difference. When I adjust to the car I have less issues. Not sure I like having to put so much effort in thinking about what that transmission has on it's mind. Not knowing if the car is going to want to go or not when you step on the gas gets annoying. Don't like a car that leaps out from under you or hesitates. I think eventually this can cause a serious accident. It's embarrassing to be at an intersection at a stop light and the light turns and you cant go and people are honking. Not ideal situation at all. Causes road rage to some people.

Fed Up

I bought my 2015 Jeep Latitude brand new and have had more issues with it than I have with my older 2009 toyota corrolla that has 155k miles on it! I have had to take my jeep in 3 times for transmission and computer problems when it nearly caused an accident on the highway and left me stranded on a separate occurrence. Now the dang thing won't start and it's not the battery, I have a feeling its the alternator. When you buy a brand new car you should have at least 5 years of NO mechanical issues but I have had nothing but these costly issues since owning it. My warranty no longer covers the bumper to bumper and I have even reached out to the manufacturer after learning that I was not the only person experiencing these issues with this type & model but yet there is no recall (I guess because no one has died yet-sad I know but we all know how this works) and they wouldn't do a dang thing about it, not a single thing! Now I have to figure out what I am going to do so that I am not so upside down in payments should I trade it in.

The Best Vehicle If You Love Wasting Money

Bought mine brand new and it was a straight money pit. Built with very cheap parts and is strictly meant to sell as a cosmetic car vs a performance car. Very slow rev speed, always had computer problems, and it broke down on me three times, and they were all for different reasons. Two of the times were on the highway during rush hour. I took great care of the jeep and I always got it serviced every 3000 miles, yet it still created its own problems. I recommend a 98' civic if you want to get from point A to point B cause a 2015 Cherokee cannot perform that task.

If you don't want to drive it buy it it has a piece of plastic on the oil filter housing that leaks if it gets cracked and you have to wait a half a month to get the parts and it's expensive

Transmission flaw

PK, 03/23/2022

Transmission flaw- as soon as you touch the brakes in neutral you can no longer apply the gas. As in, the accelerator is bypassed. This leaves no recourse but a blown engine with subsequent normal applications of gas/brake while in motion. Big data fails!
