Looker but OH the frustrations!
I traded my 110K miles BMW M3 for this car. Looked at Mercedes C93 AMG, Audi RS5, and BMW M5. Thought I would try this car before any other co-worker had one in the parking lot. Loved it for the first 2K miles until the tire sensor light came on. Service said it was probably the cold weather and not to worry. 3,800 miles Engine light (supercharger gasket), 12,700 miles trunk would not close (trunk latch replaced), 14,900 miles tire sensor (resulted in a front tire blow out), 16,000 miles engine light (thermostat replaced), 16,200 miles engine light (Vacuum tube detached - service error), 18,900 engine would not start (second try an hour later it started).
Looks great...when it leaves you stranded
I'll start by saying that for the price, the looks of this car inside and out are amazing. With the supercharger, its also faster than most cars in its class....when the car actually lets you drive it. My car has 32,000 miles on it, and the problems I've had: fuel door wouldn't open when I was on empty, inaccurate fuel gauge, passenger A/C stopped working, cabin light comes on and off by itself, and best of all, gear knob stuck in drive and then wouldn't restart after I turned the engine off. Not to mention the cost of oil changes and maintaining the car, and forget about driving it in snow. With a MSRP of $63,000, these problems are simply unacceptable. Should have bought a Benz CLS.

Don’t walk away from this car, RUN away
This was the worst car I have owned in my entire life. There is a major design flaw in the rear differential. The differential cover broke at the speed of 50mph and broke my two rear axles causing the car to fail in the middle of the road traveling 50mph. My mechanic said that this flaw could’ve caused my car to flip over. In addition to this issue, there were constant check engine lights for various emission problems. Just run away from this car. I’m never buying Jaguar again.
A new breed of cat
I previously had a S-Type R. whose style is much maligned for its retro- trend, even though I think it is very cool in design. Nevertheless, the XF is really a drastic departure from the traditional Jaguar aesthetics. It is modern, high tech and a lot of fun to drive. The super charged engine gives inexhaustible supply of power. Especially when it is in manual shift mode, the gear changes are smooth and the car is eager to leap to action, like a pony alive. The styling, without doubt, is sleek. There is much debate about its front, some people denigrate it as Hyundai variant. But you have to look at the car in its entirety, then everything comes in harmony.
Another Bummed Out XF Owner
I love this car. Thank G-D it's off lease in 5 months. Now in shop for over a month because of transmission--knob stuck in park. Dealer said no parts available, 3 weeks wait. This is after they fixed it with the recall kit and it failed again. Generally the car has been great but this tranny problem is a deal breaker. Factory doesn't care-- promised me a call back after I called them. Didn't hear back from them when they said they would call. Given the other choices out there I expect I will be looking for a more reliable car and service commitment in the future. Local dealer is a mess.
