Excellent Vehicle
I test drove most competitors in this class, and was not happy until I test drove the XF. I immediately knew this was a car for me! I have owned Lexus and Acura, but they do not compare with this car. The interior design is spectacular with the leather dash, great seating, and technology, and the exterior sets it apart from its competitors in its class. I have fallen madly in love with my first Jaguar - it is an exceptional vehicle! The build quality is excellent and the transmission shifts through the gears beautifully! I cannot explain how happy I am to have, on a whim, stopped in to test drive the XF.
Heartbroken
It actually pains me to write this review because I REALLY LOVE my car. I've had it for about 2 yrs and first problem was at 7K miles I needed new brakes. Also with the 19" tires you really can't drive over potholes, I also replaced 3 already. The real heartbreak is that now at 22,000 miles my transmission/gear shift knob doesn't work! Took it to service they "fixed" it and now one month later I'm home stranded AGAIN with the same problem. According to svc ctr there is a recall but I can't find any news on it. I still love this car but wish I had leased it because it will not last me the long yrs I hoped it would. I don't know what to do, I still love my car.

Great car but lots of troubles
The supercharged engine is fantastic. Push the pedal and go! But, in the first year it has been in the shop so many times. AC O ring failed in first month - 2 weeks in shop. Screen locks up - have to disconnect battery repeatedly. Battery power failure - loose connection finally found in console. Rubber hood support bumpers fall off in Las Vegas heat. Front tires have inner wear that ends tire life early - why? Maintenance costs $150 for oil change and $450 for 20k service. Rear brakes wear out in 13k miles - considered normal but another $400. If you get one of these, be prepared to spend a lot to keep it up. It is a fantastic car, but not cheap.
Great car, but...
Just took my XF on a round trip to Vegas from San Diego. It was a great ride all the way through. Even without the super charged engine, she managed just fine. My only gripe about this car is the sunroof continues to squeak even though the dealer has worked on it. There was a chirping sound at low speeds and the dealer found that to be a cable rubbing against the chassis that connected to the rear seat release to the trunk. Everything else on the car is A-1. Quite and upgrade from the S-type. Now, if I can only get those Celena wheels without foreclosing on my house.
The most awesome car I have ever owned
My XF 2009 is simply awesome. The exterior style turns heads everywhere I go. MB, Lexus and BMW are a dime a dozen but not this Jag. It is unique. The interior is extremely comfortable and high tech.
