XF Supercharged Roadrunner
This is my 6th Jag, yeah, they depreciate like a lead brick, and worst of all the hourly rate at Jag dealers now is $200 per hour, or more. That is crazy. So, if you decide to get one of these beauties, here is my advice after driving Jaguar XJ, S Type, and XF's since 2004: Pay very close attention to the maintenance history, by far the most important component when considering a preowned Jag. Never buy one new, unless you can throw over $20K out the window after driving out of the lot. Find a quality certified wrench who can work on your Jag keeping the maintenance up to date. They are very reliable cars when maintained properly. My favorite Jag of all time was my 03 XJ8, followed by my current Jag, an 09 XF Supercharged, the last year of the 4.2 V8, the best V8 Jag has ever made, and in my opinion one of the best in the world period. I traded my 2017 XF with the 3.0 Supercharged V6, which was an awesome highway driver as well and very reliable. However, the 2009 XF Supercharged is special. It really is an incredible car, especially on long trips. I bought mine in January 2022 with 24K miles and it will turn 40k miles after my next trip in a couple weeks. The car simply is amazing on the open road and gets 23-25 MPG on the highway at 80-85MPH. So far the only two things that have occurred are the window motor failing at 13 years old, and the push gas cover getting stuck. Pay a a good wrench to fix your window motor and it will cost you under $400. Go to the dealer and it will be close to $900, which is pathetic. Buy some Silicone spray for the gas cover, it will save you $320 or more. The stereo system in the 09 Jag XF Supercharged is the best stock car stereo I have ever experienced in a car. Mechanically, the engine for me thus far has been bulletproof, and it is the 3rd Jag I have owned with the 4.2 V8, the other two engines were the 4.0 V8 in the 03 XJ8 and the 3.0 in the 17 XF. Bottom line, if you do not know a good private service center to take your Jag, do not buy the Jag. There are several people who have put 190,000 miles, 250,000 miles and one even crossing 300,000 miles. Synthetic oil changed regularly along with the brake fluid, tranny fluid, and fuel filter will result in an engine that purrs a long, long time. Mine is 14 years old now and in 2 weeks I am driving it 13 hours to my hometown, nothing like a Jag on the highway! The feel of this car at 80+ mph is exhilarating, like the car is begging you to keep the petal down, they run all day and night at 80+, I know because it has been done in my Jags numerous times

Watch Out
looks techy, sleek & athletic but very slow tranny reaction time, punch it you will see. Dog for a V8 - no sport mode - poor navi - only 2D - very very slow - Expensive over-rated sound system. Poor bass & tones - controls on wheel - needs to be buttons - poor resale

XF Supercharged
Traded in an 04 XJ8, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Before buying the XF, I drove the following: Acura RL, Lexus GS 460, Infiniti M45, BMW 550, and Merc E550. In performance, styling and handling, the XF is as good or better than any of the others. It really shines in the interior; simple, understated, and luxurious. Have had only a couple of minor problems, including a bad battery. The dealership has been very helpful even made a lease payment for me for the inconvenience. So far, the finest car I have ever owned, and incredible value for the money.
Jove my XF
I drove Q45's for 10 years. I tried this car on a whim and fell in love with it! Great looking. Excellent ride. No mechanical problems. A little worried about snow condition driving. Highly recommended. Great value for the money!
I can't believe I bought a Jaguar
I never thought I'll own a Jaguar but during a recent search of my next $50k car, I stumble on to a magazine article comparing Jag XF with Mbz 500E, GS460, Bmw 550i and saw that XF came on top. I went to local dealer to test drive the car, and I was in love with design and how it rides. I'm coming off the lease from 04 Infiniti G35 coupe and was looking for car that was little more size. I went with basic model with a navigation to cut the cost down a little but this car already came with a lot of options I needed anyway. Exterior design is slick and modern and interior is impeccable. But best quality about XF is the ride. Try it and you'll know what I mean. It's the best car I ever bought.
