The Ultimate Ride
I have had my XF for almost a month now, and love it! I purchased the premium model with tech package, warm climate and advance vision pack. I also was given the 20inch wheels that comes with the super charge model (someone did not want them when they got their super charger..thanks!) from the dealer and the lighted kick plates. This car stops drivers in their track, I can't believe how many times people stop me in 7 series BMW and S class Mercedes to ask what I am driving. The car is beautiful inside and out. The ride, the speed and the handling makes me wish I could drive on a racetrack. If you purchase this car you will not be sorry!
Incredible Value For a Supercar
I've had my Supercharged for about ten months. I'm extremely happy. The combination of refinement, handling and power is phenomenal for the money. The styling grows on you and I'm constantly getting compliments and stares. The cars are still rather rare where I live so I get lots of questions. I was concerned about winter driving but was pleasantly surprised. I did put Dunlop performance winter tires on and drop to 18" wheels during the winter. There's no way the performance tires work in wintry weather. Two quibbles: the touchless glove box is stupid and often balks and the fuel filler cap without a handle is likewise dumb and had to be replaced. Other than that....I love this car!

Nice Kitty!!
This is my first Jaguar. I am a new owner and so far this car has exceeded my expectations. Great balance of sleek design, power, and comfort. Fit and finish is great and a heck of a lot of fun to drive
The Best
Worth every quarter. Heads turn wherever I go with it. People actually pull in the drive and talk about it. Workmanship is excellent.
Power, beauty and soul
I've owned the car less than a month and have been thrilled with the car's overall performance, interior build quality, surround sound and easy to use touch screen nav, audio, and communication panel (I did need to read the manual). I have found the rear mirror / blind spot detection system to be very helpful. The V8 purrs, but not like my father's Jag. When using the paddle shift, there's no question this cat likes to run with more of a throaty growl, meanwhile holding a very tight corner. The ride is stiffer than I would have expected, but it is welcomed. True with Ian Cullum's other designs, this one gets tons of looks. Be prepared to answer many questions about the car by admirers.
Amazing Car
This car is amazing. I drove several cars prior to purchasing this one inlcuding Lexus GS, BMW 5 series, Audi A6 (no S though), and Mercedes E class. The Jaguar has the best of all these cars melded into it. The Lexus is too luxury and the BMW too sporty. The jag is "just right." The interior feels contemporary and refined yet sporty. The ride is smooth but responsive and the engine/transmission seem to have no problems with any request I make no matter how insane it seems. If it's too insane it will let me know and just ignore the request which is a very nice feature. I could go on and on but I will end by saying that you just can't go wrong if you buy this car. You wont regret it.
Over 5,000 miles and it's still great
This is my second review, the car now has over 5,000 and remains flawless. Just completed a 1,050 trip, averaged 27 mpg while cruising at 75-80 mph, car was loaded too. Have had only one problem, rattling sunroof, dealer fixed it. There is some wind noise from the side mirrors, even though they replaced the door seals, but no sign of wind leak. They say mirrors make the noise and a fix is coming. :) Love this car.
A Pleasant Surprise
This is truly a departure for Jaguar. The XF handles with the feel of a sports car but has interior room and comfort unlike anything in its class. Even with the naturally aspirated 4.2L V8, the car is more than a match for most American roads. Test drove it along with the GS 460, A6 and E550. No comparison in handling. This was quite a surprise considering the competitive pricing of the XF. Bought it on first visit to dealer. Despite many previews referring to disappointing exterior styling, this car turns heads. In the first week, had the alarm set off several times by overzealous observers in parking lots. Interior styling is simple and unique and has no equal in its class.
Super Hot Car
My 2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged Sport Sedan is the coolest car I have ever owned. This includes a long list of Mercedes and other high-end brands. It is beautiful and incredibly fast. I get compliments on the style, color (Botanical Green), and general good looks. Many Mercedes and BMW owners have stopped to inquire about this Jag. It is an amazing car and value for the price. You will not regret buying this one.
Can't trust it
I have had more problems in 8 months with this car then I had in the last 6 years combined with my BMW and Lincoln LS. Battery cable problems left me stranded and had to be repaired twice. Windshield washers repaired twice. Touch screen replaced. Check engine light fixed. My local dealer has been OUTSTANDING and saved my sanity. On style and ride the car wins hands down; but if I had it to do over again, I would be in a BMW. Beauty doesn't help when the car won't run.
My new XF
I am so excited to own this car. My last car, a Lexus ES 330 is nothing compared to this. I love everything about it. The car handles so well. Went up to 110 (shhhhhh) and felt like I was going 50 mph. The features are plentiful. The advanced vision package is a must! My favorite feature, driving down the street and people just stare. Seriously, they actually stare! When I valet park, they put my car right in front! I love it. Attention getter, excellent performance, more features than you could ever possibly use. I've have the car two weeks and I still have not finished reading the manual.
Classy Vehicle
This has to be the nicest vehicle I have ever purchased. It is classy, beautiful to look at, interior is scrumptious and comfortable. I even get an average of 26 mpg combined city & highway.
Fast 4 door coupe
Trade my CLS 550 for the supercharged XF. I had Acura RL, GL Class before, this car handles super, the adaptive suspension is tuned for both comfort and sporty. Steering has a great feel at high way speed, and it is light when parking. The sound system is wonderful, better than any car I had.
My super white XF supercharged
Just picked up my new white XF supercharged and week ago and boy what a week it has been. The car has performed beyond my expectations in every way. I get a kick out of people trying to see what kind of car it is as they say "OH that's a JAG"! I looked at the BMW 550, Lexus 460, and the Mercedes E class but once I saw the XF I was sold. The best part you don't see many or any on the road like you do the others. Go buy one if you have the chance, you will not be disappointed.
A fun car to own
I fell in love with the car after seeing it the first time. The car looks great. It has all the toys and features I could ever wanted in a car. Warm and cold package is a big plus. Blind spot warning is a nice feature. The auto dim mirror and navigation are nicely done. The rotating shifter dial is a nice change. The paddle gear shifters are convenient. The sound system is good. The handling is good, but not great compared to my BMW (performance 8). The noise reduction is not so good compared to Lexus and MB (comfort 8). The fuel economy is good for a V8. It may lack things in some areas, but overall it is so much fun to drive, I can ignore the rest.
2009 XF Supercharged
I picked up this car about two weeks ago after giving up on my search for a new Audi S5. Wow, am I really happy I didn't go with the S5. This car, especially the supercharged, feels as if you are driving a $125k automobile. With 420 hp, it doesn't feel like a car, it feel like a rocketship. Reaching 120 mph is just way too easy. The interior is the most beautiful and most technologically advanced I have ever seen. It trumps anything Audi, BMW, Mercedes, or Lexus has ever done. The exterior has flawless lines and makes a 4 door sedan feel like a 2 door sports coupe.
Most fun I've had driving
I test drove just about every other car in this class and I just fell in love with the XF. I am admittedly an avid fan of most things British, but my fiancee wasn't and a few joy rides in this beauty and she was completely converted. In Dynamic Mode this thing is an outright monster.
Very Satisfied
My 99 Audi A4 - 5 speed with every option including special suspension and recaro seats still looked new, but I needed something a touch larger. I had been actively looking and driving everything from the BMW 6 series through Lexus GS for over a year. Nothing was getting me excited on looks or even came close to the fun of driving the Audi. FGOS - the new A5 was to small. Then I saw the XF, tested it and bought one on the spot. It may not be as nimble as my previous car but it is certainly fun of a different kind to drive. I actually look forward to my 60 min commute to work each way. So far no regrets.
Unbelievably fun car
Easily the coolest and most fun to drive car i have ever owned. Previous cars were BMW and Audi. Get stares and comments regularly (not that i necessarily enjoy all the attention). Ride quality, handling, and what seems like limitless power are the highs. Not to mention luxurious interior and all the gizmos (adaptive cruise, blind spot detection, parking aid, dynamic suspension, ventilated seats, ipod, sat radio, etc). no problems or bugs so far (nearly 5000 miles). we'll see how long the 20inch tires and brakes last.
Can't live with the vibration
The supercharged XF sold itself when I saw if for the first time. Unfortunately, it might sell itself again if Jaguar doesnt address the steering vibration. For a still undetermined reason my XF shakes. It is most noticeable (and visible) in the steering wheel, but can also be felt in my seat as well. My dealer has tried everything they know how to do and it still shakes. Jaguar engineers say its a high performance car and vibration is to be expected. I say if theyre betting Jaguars future on this car, they might want rethink their position. Regrettably, despite its promising appearance its not a car Id recommend until they get the first year bugs worked out.
XF Exceptional!
This is not a traditional Jaguar in design or execution. I had two prior Jaguars that I enjoyed, but this XF breaks out of the old Jag form, with grace and style! Great looking, nice build quality, great features. The car looks like a four door coupe, and the interior is gorgeous with nice materials and features. The drive is crisp, and handling is good. There is just enough soundproofing to offer comfort, but not total isolation. The engine performs well, even without supercharger, and the exhaust tuning sounds great too. I was originally a skeptic of the pop up shifter, but it is easy to use, and with the paddle shifters it is easy to executre crisp gear changes.
Dream Car
My new Jaguar XF SCV8 has simply exceeded my expectations, which were high to begin with. After thoroughly researching and vetting all the cars in the category, and testing each one, the decision to go with the Jaguar became very simple. Of the BMW, Mercedes, and Audi offsets, none offered the total package of the XF, and they are all fine vehicles. The styling, road grace, sound system and incredibly smooth power made this THE car. The Jag XF has received it's share of global acclaim, and my personal experience to date with the XF has validated the high praise. The folks at Jaguar got it right, top to bottom and I encourage anyone looking for a car in this range to drive one.
THEY FOUND THE DAMN NOISE
I just wanted to let those who have been frustrated like I have been about a silly creak or chirp in what seems to be the carriage of the car that the fix ultimately is an easy one - thank goodness. There are two issues with the car and maybe it's the early ones, but one is the sunroof clips - fixed. The other is this creak or chirp which really ticked me off. I was at the brink on this one but my service rep figured it out today. The problem happened to be the cables attached to the latch which releases the back seats so they can fold down. YES, they fold down. The cables were rubbing against the metal at the top of the trunk. Problem solved. The car is great as it should be.
2 Jags two times the problems
We purchased two XF's, problems started about two months after. Engine lights coming on, two tires blown, brake noise, steering pulsating, brake fade, bad, roof seal, wind noise and more. Continental tires on delivered vehicles that are not recommended. Dealership is trying but no luck so far, we may be looking at Lemon Law. We love the look of the car. We were very excited to make the purchase as this is a very sexy car and should be much better than what we have experienced. These are our first Jags and possibly our last. Problems are consistent on both cars. Jag has a problem and they need to fix it!
It's a looker
Bought my Supercharged XF from a local dealer in Southern Calif. Was originally looking at the XJ, but way too low tech. This dealer modifies a lot of vehicles. Mine has ground effects and 22 inch tires. I get comments everywhere I drive. Just passed 8000 miles. Made four trips with it to Las Vegas, have installed escort ci 9500 for a little extra safety on long drives. Only problem is the electronic parking brake knob gets very hot during long drives.
Engineering Mistake?
Fast. Transmission is great. Handles well especially when using manual mode while driving. Does everything advertised. I buy a car every six months and so far, this may go down as one of the best.
2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged
I assumed the lease on this beautiful Liquid Silver Jaguar XF Supercharged almost 1 month ago. I picked it up in the Bay area and drove it up along Interstate 5 all night long and it was the most exhilarating drive. Going through the mountains near Shasta was smooth and I felt very confident going over and around the bends. I put approximately 750 miles that night and even though I was tired when I got home I couldn't help but stare at the beautiful curves and elegant design, and couldn't leave it dirty, so I ended up washing it.
Finally
Jag has finally entered the 21st century with the XF. The car builds upon the excellent XK series and addresses all shortcomings. I've owned all the luxury and sport nameplates and this is the finest combination of luxury, performance, and looks I have ever seen this side of the MB CLS.
Should have gotten it sooner!
Outstanding road handling. 4.2L engine supercharged is an amazing option. You will be acknowledged by others on the road. Lock your passenger doors, someone will jump-in and request a ride. Standard sound system is above average. If I had to negotiate the car again, I would request the upgrade version. The experience begins with: Press, rotate, step on the gas and enjoy!!!! (No keys, no shifter)
This makes two
This is our second XF in 6 months. First one had too many problems that we negotiated a buyout. Now we have the second and Jaguar quality control is still poor. Love the styling and performance and that is about it. I don't think we will keep this one. Very disappointed in Jaguar.
Better than "Ultimate Driving Machine"
Got my XF 5 months ago and I still feel the same excitement to drive this car as I felt on the first day! I've owned BMWs (both, 3- & 5-series sedans) for over 8 years and never thought I'd walk away from a BMW, but when I test drove an XF I was hooked in 45 seconds! BMWs are awesome, but the Jag has far superior handling, and the transmission & ride are unbelievably smooth. My wife never turns down my "rare & limited" offers to drive the XF, gladly handing me her Lexus RX350 keys. Also, I absolutely enjoy the looks I get when I drive by anyone. :)
Sunday Driver - Weekends only
Although I drive our XF mostly on weekends the experience reminds me of being on vacation, nice environment and everything new and pleasant. The vehicle draws attention from absolutely everyone helping me to realize that hard work and doing it right pays off. The jaguar XF is a sports car in hiding until you punch it, then you accelerate from the norm while the tone of the exhaust leaves you with a smurt on your face. So far I've only seen one other on the road & that's ok with me, I like being unique. I'm sure the XF will do well on the market but for now I like being one of the first to own it. The car is a must have, but if you don't buy it, I will not mind.
Ultimate Black/Spice interior
Had this car on order for 3 months. Picked up Sept 3 and has been to mechanic 3 times for engine light on. They can't seem to determine what problem is at this point, looking for Jaguar to replace car. I have owned BMW, Lexus, Porsche and Mercedes and was looking to buy another BMW when I found this car. If it wasn't for mechanical issues I am having with this particular car, I would have nothing but good things to say. Roomy, powerful, good trunk room, love exterior and interior. Excellent sound system, fit and finish could be better- However at this point, I think I bought a lemon so will see what future holds.
Love the XF
This is my fourth Jag and certainly the best. I had S Type Rs, Xtypes and fell in love with the new XF Supercharged in Silver- it is light years better than the old S type- better engine, trans, handling and of course the design. Back seat passengers don't complain now and the boot is rather large. I have driven in snow /ice with snow tires and the winter mode keeps you moving without fail. Valets love it and makes me grin every time I drive it too 7000 miles so far and only problems have been alignment and windnoise which the dealer fixed . If you are considering BMW, Audi, Lexus or Mercedes, take a hard look at the XF- even get 22-24 mpg on the highway!
Beauty and the Beast
I've had the my Supercharged XF about 1 1/2 years. Loved the design and content...but. Engine warning lights, blown manifold gaskets, inoperable gas cover (try that when on empty), recalls, rear brakes gone at 15K with tires right behind and today dead in the garage and pulled out by a towing service (wonder what damage they did) after numerous engine and gearbox errors on dash. Sexy design and still draws looks. Seems the electronic gremlins and reliability are still subpar. Should have stuck with my first instinct of a BMW. At least the routine maintenance is included with them!
Very Happy
I ordered the Jaguar XF a couple months before it came out based on the way the interior and exterior looked. I knew it would have to be comfortable, ride well, and be quick. I was really impressed once it came in and I actually purchased the vehicle. It really takes some time to figure out all the settings especially with the transmission, suspension, and engine response settings. It really is a beautiful car inside and out. I would highly recommend it. I previously owned a 2001 Mercedes CLK 430 and had concerns buying a Jaguar after a Mercedes. I was overly impressed with the Jaguar.
Jag lover with few exeptions
I love the solid feel of the car. The balance is wonderful. I had one mech problem, promptly fixed.
What a Ride!
I have had my XF for a week and everytime I get in it and crank it up it is amazing. The handling of this model is significantly better than the S-type. The interior is not like anything I have seen. The seats are very comfortable. The pickup speed of the car is unbelievable. It will cruise at about 75 mph just under 2000 RPMs. Mine is a radiance color and it is stunning. The number of drivers turning their head to see this car is remarkable. I thought maybe not having the wood grain steering wheel would be a minus to being able to grip that wheel especially on the highway is quite the match.
Great Car
It sounds funny to say that a 60-plus car is a steal, but it's true. The XF delivers so many standard features on the Supercharged that the Germans should hang their heads in shame for delivering their comparable equipped, high-priced, yawn-inspiring designed cars.
3 kids seat fit in the back
This is the only sedan I found that will hold 3 kids seats in a row in the back. Most have very deep buckets for two that makes having 3 kids seats impossible. I went to buy an Acura MDX - it drove like a van. The Jag dealer was next door. After juggling one big baby seat and 2 boosters I got them to fit - then I test drove it, WOW! I had a BMW 330i and have had a Boxster, this XF beats them both. It is very comfortable, will hit 60 in 6 secs and has one of best sounding rumblings when you get on it. The base model with heat package is everything you would want. This car will turn heads!
Wow... where can I go next
This is the best car and yes a head turner. I live in LA and I have only seen one other on the road. I drove the BMW 550 and Mercedes but I didn't want to drive what everyone else had. I remember seeing the XF at the LA Auto show and loved the stying. When I saw it and drove it, it had only been out 10 days. Amazing. Love the distinctive styling, rides like a dream. Love the touch screen and the nav is so intuitive. The swivel air panels and blue lighting is the best of all auto technology. Love the sporty ride, paddle shifting and the great trunk with fold down seats.
fun to drive
we took the car on a 850mi round trip...performed very well. Average 26 miles despite getting stuck in montreal traffic. Much better than infiniti G35. other than minor issues, car has performed very well.
The New Jag Rocks!
Great car. Great looks, Great build quality. Very impressive and comfortable. This is a winner, and it shows that Jaguar can build a great sedan at a reasonable price.
XF Fun
We purchased our XF about 60 days after the model intro. We have had zero issues with this car. My wife had a bit of difficulty with the paddle shifters at first but now enjoys them as do I. This car continues to amaze in handling, acceleration and, believe it or not, fuel economy. We average 21 mpg in overall driving with 70+% being in town destinations. Rear seat leg room? It is adequate. Trunk room is satisfactory. Put down the rear seat and viola, an instant Costco runner.
The Sexy Black Cat
WOW... what a car. This car is an amazing work of art. I just purchased a black on black XF with the advance vision and navigation package. I love the engine and exhaust noise. I love the looks I get while driving it. I love the fact that I am only a part of a few people that have this car. Especially in LA, where most people drive MBenz, BMW, and Lexus I am proud to be driving the new hot Jag.
Love it!
Perfect reliability except one little glitch: gas tank door that refused to open. Fixed (I hope). Only major downside: gas consumption which averages between 16 mpg (US) city and 19.3 hwy (14,7-12,2L/100kms). This is the most enjoyable car I've owned (including Mercedes SL450, BMW 735i, Lexus etc.). I've rediscovered the fun of driving and even if long past, I feel like a kid again looking forward to an excuse to go for a drive, like I felt with my muscle cars in the 60s.
Don't be fooled by the looks. LEMON!!!
Fell in love with the car the first time my husband and I saw it. A month after leasing it the problems started. I have had it towed twice because of no start, hot shotted once. It has also been in the shop for the drivers window twice being stuck, twice for a rattling in the roof. Jaguar usa has been of no help. I think i have a lemon and have contacted a lawyer.
The best
After having three 5 series BMW's in the past ten years I was ready for a change from the same old same old...i- drive and run flat tires ended the ten year the love hate relationship. My first XF was the V6 ( I'm in Australia) and it was a real disappointment performance wise after the 530i I had previously. For all its sins the BMW had it over the Jag hands down. So after 3months, I took the financial pain and switched to the Premium Luxury 4.2, and what a difference. I've had mine for just on a year and it continues to delight me and frankly a lot of others judging by comments and interest in the vehicle.
Head Turning
This is my third Jag {2 previous S- Types}, and it is awesome! Total strangers ask me if they can check it out and want to know if I would recommend it. Since I have had NO problems with the car, I say, OH YA, I love it! My gas mileage is not very good since I drive faster than most but I do enjoy the upgraded Bowers And Wilkins stereo system and living in Houston, the rear window shade has really helped keep the car cooler. The a/c seats rock when it's 100 degrees too! I currently have 8,300 miles on the car and can't wait to go on a road trip with lots of curves!
Great car
This is a great car all around; gorgeous inside and out, solid power and handling. Very comfortable ride, much more so than my Lexus. Would go for premium luxury next time; I miss the backup camera and Xenon headlamps and cooled seats.
