Used 1994 Isuzu Trooper Consumer Reviews
Reliable, practical tank
This suv is one of the most maligned and under-rated trucks around. The thing is built like a tank, with my vehicle having over 200,000 miles on it and nary a squeak or rattle. The inside is huge and usable.Very reliable and great off road. Consumer Reports did a hatchet job on this vehicle, and destroyed resale. Others loss is your gain. Buy it!
Still a Trooper
I,bought this 93 isuzu Trooper used,it had about 400 miles on the odameter. This is by far the most reliable truck/suv I,have ever owned! The only problems encountered were with the right rear electric window and replacing the miniture lightbulbs in the switches on the dash. O2 sensor light came on at 90k O2 senser tested good reset light on the back of instrument panel.Replaced shocks with bilstein shocks. greatly improved braking. If you are looking for a used SUV the Trooper is the way to go.
170K and still running strong!
This has been the best car we have ever owned. No problems, still on the original rotors. Replaced the starter at 120K. Only oil, gas, and filters. My wife t-boned and they replaced the grill and quarter panels - still drives like a champ. I live in the South, moved to Alaska, drove all the way pulling a trailer. Spent 3 years there, bad roads - the stories about the ALCAN HWY are true, drove back. Haven't even bothered to do a wheel alignment. I'm not very good about prevent maintenance and the Trooper still treats me good - I don't deserve such a good car! I am buying a another car to commute in DC because of the 15-17 mpg but I'm not selling. My sons (6, 11) will be driving her some day!
High Mileage
Bought the car new by trading in a lemon BMW and junker Wagoneer. Car has absolutely been one of the most reliable I have ever been associated with. Only work done was a starter, A/C clutch and compressor, rear wheel bearing and ignition wires and coils (just now). I drive it every day, have towed campers and boats, and generally used it for everything imaginable. Doesn't use any oil, always starts and the finish has held up well. With the age now some of the upholstery and dash plastic is beginning to show wear.
"tough as a bag of rocks"
I have over 220,000 miles on my '93 Trooper and it seems to still be going strong. What more can I say.
