1995 Infiniti G20 (automatic)
I just bought this car a few days ago from a car dealer and it was in excellent condition with only 1 previous owner. This car handles very well and feels very steady on the road. My father had a '93 Infiniti G20 and I loved driving that car and my '95 G20 is no different.
Buy yourself one, you'll bless yourself
I have had my g20 for 3 years now and have had some wonderful times. People say its pretty slow, but a four door used sedan for under 5 k, its about the best motor you can get. Its handling is top notch and i feel once your drive a G its hard to get used to something that doesnt handle as well. My car has 167k on it with no issues, paint steal gleams, not a single rattle or creak yet. Rides firm and nice, great high speed cruiser if you drive long distances. Im getting between 23-28 for gas mileage, and im a very hard driver. I liberally use the 7500 rpm red line. I've got 40,000 miles on my current tires, maybe about 15k left. Its a best buy
Get the manual
Bought in 2000 with 67k miles. Now has 200769+ miles. The bad: a couple of big repairs, transmission and clutch at about 130k, also cvboots/axles at around 185k. Tachometer not working, driver-side window only goes down about 80%, sunroof motor retired in 2007, and odometer just broke. The good: the best car I've ever owned (81 RX7, 82 Saab Turbo, 86 GTI, 91 Eclipse GSX, 95 Camry). VERY fun to drive, great handling, not quick off the line, but great performance at 3k rpm and above, quiet, solid, interior still essentially perfect. Good investment to have windows tinted when I got the car. 22-24 mpg city, 24-27 mpg hwy. $50/year DMV registration in CA. I would sell this car to my mom.
Best car I've ever bought
I bought the car when she was 2 and had about 32k, she's has been a dream. No problems. Just regular stuff like a battery, new brakes and tires. Did I mention she has 125,000 miles now. Thinking of trading her in, but am afraid I won't find anything as reliable as her. She drive 35 miles each way in Atlanta traffic every day and never complains a bit. By the way, the dealership service, while expensive, is worth it. While it was under warranty they found a few minor things for me and repaired them. The loaner program while your car is in for service is reason enough to buy an Infiniti. You never have to sit around and wait!
Fun, Economical & Reliable
Bought this one with 145k miles but I think the ODO was rolled back. It may have 170K miles on it. I have had it for 4k miles. I am not sure what has been done to the car in terms of maintenance or repairs, but it runs very strong. It needed a CV joint - $150. A lot of fun to drive, sporty and for the money, I am very happy. Bought it to be my daily driver versus my big Ford Expedition. Getting 27 mpg city driving!! It is black on black and the interior is like new, so the quality of the leather, rugs and other components are very good. Paint is still holding up in the Georgia sun - loosing a little of the clear coat on the roof and spoiler. Overall I am extremely pleased.
Infiniti G20 4DR Sedan
My knowledge of automobiles and pricing contributed to a great buy of 1995 Infiniti g20 with 70,000 miles in mint condition absolutely flawless for $7500 cash before taxes. My first experience with the car was pleasantly surprising. I looked at the quality of the interior, design, controls, swithches everything in the place where it should be. I drive that car very hard I mean it very hard. Abrupt acceleration, braking, hitting the New York's streets. The brakes and handling are more than impressive. I had only two things failing in my car the passenger window switch and a thermostat. This car truly has an excellent reliability.
Utah G20t
I bought this car when my college son turned it down and have enjoyed driving it for the past 4 years. I've driven it between California and Colorado and it has yet to give me problems, even with 161,000 miles. Yes, I wish it had more power and a cup holder, but I don't want to trade it even though an AWD or 4WD would be nicer during the winter snows of Utah. It fits just like a fighter jet, which I also operate (hence, I can go fast in something else to satisfy my adrenalin rush for speed). All in all, a great little car.
1995 g20
Bought this car with 50k miles. Wife tried to beat it to death by driving it for her med sales job in a fairly aggressive fashion for almost 80k miles - and she insisted on putting in low grade gas the entire time -against the owners manual advice. That nearly killed it! It ran terribly, knocking, rattling, pinging, rough idle etc. Now that I've inherited the car again, it's had good 88 or above octane gas and regular maintenance for the last 30k miles and it's running excellent! I've wanted to upgrade to a BMW 3 series but for now I'll stick with this car until it dies, which is probably not any time soon. Minimal repairs required, no major items.
Best Car I have Ever Owned
I purchased this car from the 2nd owner 5 years ago at 182K. I am now at 250K and have driven the car without any out of the ordinary issues. I have owned a number of other cars, and this is by far the most reliable car every. I wish there was a cup holder, but other then that its the perfect balance of performance, luxury and economy.
Commute in comfort
I've had my G20 for 6 years now and I still love it. I bought it used over a Maxima and a Subaru Legacy and have never regreted it. It's comfortable for 4, gets excellent mileage and has never given me any problems. The dealer has been outstanding. The car is tight and handles well. I enjoyed a long commute with it for 4 years and my wife uses it now to run errands. She loves the trunk space. It's getting to be time to trade it in - I'll definitely be looking at another G20.
Dream Car
When I got this car I wasn't looking for a a G20, I was looking for a Q45. The deal was too good to pass up though so I took her home. I have not regretted it for one second. This is a great car! Not very fast from a stop but runs like a dream on the highway. The factory cd player died at 120k miles and the motor mounts at about 108k. Other than that, she has never needed any substantial repairs. 122k miles and still runs like a top.
G20
Very reliable, no problems, great deal when purchased, peppy engine, easy to look at.
Impressed
We shopped around for a used Honda for our son to drive to school and saw this G20 in near perfect condition and purchased it instead. So far it appears to be a good car and our son is more than happy with his "new" wheels.
1995 G20
Excellent Reliable car I have had it for over four years and never any problems. If you keep up with the maitaniace of the vehicle they will run for a long time. I have 140000 miles and still is running in tip top shape. It handles well in all types of weather and performance wise it is a fast car considering its size.
Stillkickn
I bought this car used in 1997 and I have been very impressed with Infiniti's quality. I have had no major problems with this car and it now has 125,000 miles and going strong. My only complaints- 1)Its a little confined for over six footers- I'm (6'02"). 2)It needs more power! I have a standard transmission and it needs it with this little engine. I wish I had a auto transmission for the commute in heavy traffic.
infinity G20
This has been a reliable and comfortable vehicle. The leather seats have held up to much use by children. I would like better cup holders and CD storage place. The antenna did not hold up well. It broke after the 1st year, shortly after the warrantee expired. Also some engine work that was needed missed the warranty period by 3-4 months. I find dealer repairs expensive but am pleased with my own machanic.
Terrific handling, bullet-proof sedan
During my eight plus years with this car, it has had ZERO problems. Nissan simply over-engineered the car. There isn't another car in its class with as much reliability baked-in. Rather than spending $35k to replace it, I just spent $1k on the 60k tuneup, new set of tires, front brakes and a new set of shocks. After 2 days of detailing, it now looks and drives like new.
Very Good Car
I have owned this car for 7 years now and i have had not one problem with it.. it is a fun little car to drive
Ole Reliable
I have had this vehicle for 7 years and will try to keep it for at least 2 more. I have found it to be reasonable reliable with only routine maintenance. It's a very good vehicle if you are somewhat lax in getting your vehicle serviced.
Excellent sport sedan
I have had my G20 for almost three years now (it's my first car), and it has been an amazing car. Fun to drive, great looking, comfortable inside. Reliability has been nothing short of excellent. One of the most underrated cars ever produced. The handling is also better than cars costing many times the price. Get one if you're in the market. You'll fall in love by the end of the test drive.
Nice Ride
I have had this car for over a year, I bought it with 179,000 miles on it. The one problem I have had was the fuel pump broke and had to be replaced. I love this car, it is fast and fun to drive, and handles great in the snow. I would recommend it to anyone.
Reliable AND Fun
Very reliable, no problems outside of normal wear in 5 years of ownership. Very well appointed with lots of nice touches not normally found on "non luxury" brands; ie. heated outside mirrors.
Surprise Surprise
You'd never think this car was so good. A lot of people have them. Infiniti rarely advertises yet people buy them in a heartbeat. The G20 is the perfect car for anyone with the level of features it has, how easy and fun it is to drive, and the fact that it's reliable!!! You get a Timing CHAIN!! No silly rubber belt. Die- hard motor. My car has 70K but i've seen cars with over 200K and they run the same. Build quality and quality of materials is exceptional. This car is a great value.
Great car - great value
Honda reliability for 20% less!!! Sentra SE-R performance w/ more room. In a year and a half and 35K+ miles my G20t has been just about perfect - only needed a starter. The 5 speed extracts the horsepower much better than the automatic. MPG has been up to 34. Performance is excellent especially after a few tips from g20 (dot)net. The Touring model is worth the extra change. It gets you the rear spoiler, a limited slip differential (better in the snow), leather interior, keyless entry / security system, fog lights, AM/FM/CD with dual amps, folding rear seat backs and snug fitting front bucket seats.
Best Kept Secret!!!
The G20 really is the best kept secret. Great price; fantastic reliability; fun to drive... what more is there? I love my car and would recommend it to anyone.
Great Little Car
I owned a '95 G20 for 8 years and it always drove as if it were brand new. The G20 fit like a glove and it always felt great to slip behind the wheel. I recommend the manual transmission, as it has much better power delivery than the automatic. My transmission (manual) went bad at 140,000 miles, otherwise I'd still be driving it. I now drive a BMW 325I, which is nice, but it doesn't fit quite like the G20.
Ten Wonderful Years
We bought a new 95 G20 in Feb. 95. We are giving it to our daughter & son-in- law because we want something different and after 110,000 miles (mostly highway) it still has years of use left in it. It is the best car we have owned in 40 years. About the only thing I have had to replace are the tires, battery, headlamp bulbs and windshield wipers. It still has the original brake pads and exhaust system. If they are taken care of G20's will run for a long time. It's never let us down.
Just Plain... Good Value
I'd recommend this car to anybody seeking an extraordinary value for comfort, standard ammenities and reliability in an economy car! I don't think the price can be beat for something reliable and feature-laden. I wish the either the fuel efficiency or acceleration were better. The off- the-line acceleration with my automatic is abysmal--don't try to beat anybody coming from the other direction! Power is great once you're already moving. I have 91K and get about 19 mpg in all-city driving (not as good as I had hoped).
12 Years of Ownership
I bought this car brand new and have not had any problem with it other than the usual wear and tear. The bluebook price for the book is about $2,000, but I think it is worth more than that. I am planning to keep it until it completely shuts down (I don't think it will :) cuz' you cannot get anything as reliable with that price.
Nice when it runs
Okay...great car, when it runs. I love this car. I can't complain about the power. Its a zippy little car. Nice for parallel parking. My issue is this. I bought this car last year for 7,000. Not a bad deal for 2001. All the ratings were good. I've spent now get this...$6000 in repairs!! Transmission, tires, brakes, starter, motor assembly, my radio, 3 CV boots, and other engine components. Now some of this, ie. the CV boots are a result of crappy train tracks in SODO, but there is no reason that a tranny and so many engine components should go out before 100,000. No excuse for a Japanese car to do that.
5 years and still a great car...
I purchased this car from my father in 1998 and he had already put over 60K miles on her. But, another 90K later, she still runs like a dream. Reliability is one of the best things about this car. I have replaced the clutch (I blame heavy city driving), motor mounts, and CV boots/joints, but most of these components are bound to wear out anyway after 150K +. I share the other reviewer's sentiments about cup holders - I guess that is my only real complaint! This car is still a great car and fun to drive!
Infinity G 20
I purchased the vehicle with 38,000 miles on it and have had very few problems with it.
Still running strong
When I bought the car at about 100K the clutch needed to be replaced. The car is just shy of 200K right now and drives as strong as the day I purchased it. It has had a few quirks - like the ABS light comes on and I have to pop the ABS thing out and then back in and it will be fine for six months. I have to put in a new gasket but all in all the car just won't die! I want a new car now just for the mileage but don't think I will sell this because the resale is so low and it would be hard to find something under $2000 that could even compare. I expect this car will get another 50 - 100K without any problem.
1995 G20 4 Door Sedan
Good car, reliable. A real dog when merging or trying to pass. I would only buy another if the engine had more power.
95 Infiniti - an amazing deal
I bought this car with 100,000 miles on it. Even though it shows its age in a few aspects, it was a steal in the price I paid, and how much I got. It drives just as well as many new cars. I would recomend this to anyone looking for a great car at a great price, and if you have more cash to burn get a newer model, or don't and save the rest ;)
Rusty Bucket
This worked out great the first year i had it since then most of the electric systems have been shot at one time, cruise, ac, horn, windows...ect and now is falling apart from rust. I have put about 100000 miles on the car, and still have it. Currently looking for a new one, not considering an infinity though.
