Frustrating infotainment and safety features

Unless you want to be Googling “Hyundai Tucson CarPlay not working Reddit” every week, save yourself a migraine and do not get this car. The infotainment system is some of the buggiest tech I’ve ever used. The aux cord and Bluetooth rarely ever work consistently if at all, so be prepared to unsafely hold your phone up with one hand if you need GPS. Based on my many Google searches, this seems to be a consistent bug with this car. The safety features are too “smart” for their own good and lack intuition. The sensors will detect obstacles that definitely aren’t there and force your car into a full brake which has ironically forced us into unsafe scenarios. I 100% regret getting this car and wish we could break our 3 year lease.

Hybrid Limited Trim but Unlimited Quality & Value

As gas approaches $4 a gallon again this summer, this safe, well appointed, extremely quiet SUV delivers high mpg (35 to 37) with all the bells and whistles anyone could possibly want. Update at 10500 miles: this is a well designed, fun to drive medium sized SUV combining a terrific hybrid with a turbo that produces the 36 to 37 mpg mentioned before. Only improvements I would make to this vehicle would be better nighttime driving lights, add fog lights, and get a real shifter not the electronic one.

Terrible MPG

So I thought at first it was my dream car then after having it for six months I found out a few things. The sound it makes when it backs up is really obnoxiously loud, embarrassing. The touch screen is beautiful but I miss having buttons, also the screens collect a lot of lint/dirt. The leather is not very durable I already have a small hole in the back seats. The back seat cup holders only hold small kid size cups, very annoying! When backing up even without a vehicle in the way if it has even a small sign of a vehicle it will slam on the break, also annoying. Now the MPG issue I have never gotten the advertised 38 mpg! I average 27-29 in the city/highway, not what I was expecting- I could have spent less and gotten a gas vehicle with similar mpg!!! I also had to wait 6 months to get a spare key because they were on back order through Hyundai. The car is pretty and functional even though sluggish but most hybrids are. The backseat has good leg room. I wish it got the advertised mpg- very disappointing!!

Bluelink not working!

Danielle, 11/09/2022

My Bluelink wasn't working from the start (February 2022). This is not a feature I was particularly concerned about, but since I had just bought a new car I felt it was important that everything was in working order. After a few calls to Bluelink things worked for a short while. When it failed again (May 2022), it took many calls and many hours and 4 weeks to get my car to the dealer (June 2022). It then sat at the dealer (Lia in Albany, NY) for nearly 3 week before the dealer and Bluelink could get their acts together and replace the head unit. In September of 2022 I noticed Bluelink wasn't working again. I waited until October to submit a new ticket because I knew what a headache it would be to deal with them. Hours spent on the phone again. I was told it needed to go to the dealer. More calls unreturned from Lia Hyundai in Albany. An appointment made and cancelled because they can't provide a loaner car. I called to get a new appointment. No return call again. The whole experience has been awful. I owned a Tuscon from 2005-2020 and loved it. This has been so frustrating.

Second time around for a great suv!

This 2022 Tucson is the second time I’ve leased a Tucson! Loved driving it so much the first time that I leased one again! This time a few things were different;not deal breakers, but things were” improved”, that in my opinion shouldn’t have been. The acceleration is a bit sluggish in comparison as well as feeling less grounded in windy conditions. Other than these concerns, I am still thrilled with this awesome SUV! I love to drive and the Tucson makes it an absolute pleasure!
