Same problems as everyone else
Nothing else matters here, except the transmission issues. If you live anywhere where you might actually have to pull out quickly at any point, don't go near this vehicle. We had the 8/11/2016 "new" update done at the dealership, and we were holding out hope that would take care of our issues. Well, my wife just called me this morning - stepped on the gas to make a left turn, and the car just herked and jerked and just wouldn't get going. And today isnt one of the 95 degree days with the A/C cranking and you step on the gas and nothing happens for 1-2 seconds. 55 degrees this morning. You could give me this car for free today and I wouldn't take it. Starting down the road of heading to the dealership again

My wife is in love with her new Tucson
Aside from the test drive, I have not driven this car myself, so this review is mainly from the passenger's point of view. Because our kids are getting bigger and we love to go camping, we set out on a mission to buy a small SUV. We test drove the CR-V, the Mazda CX-5, and the Hyundai Tucson. The Honda was solid with a steady ride. The Mazda was really peppy but the interior looked a little cheap even on the higher trim. When we first saw the new Tucsons, my wife loved the new body styling. When she saw the interior, she was smitten. A lot of people complain that there is too much hard plastic inside, but with two small kids (6 and 8) in tow, that is not necessarily a bad thing because it can take abuse and still clean up well. Plus, the Tucson's designers made it look very nice. The seats are very comfortable in the front and back. I'm a little over six feet tall, and I sat in every seat to test them out, including the back middle position. Very comfy. I drove in Sport mode during the test drive, and with the turbo, the car would take off like a shot when I stepped on the gas. Yes, there was a second of lag during acceleration, but this is our family outing car, so we aren't going to be doing any drag racing. So far on the freeway, on hills, and in the city the car has performed admirably. My wife leaves the car in Eco mode when she is driving, and so far, it is outperforming its MPG specs. It is getting about 27.5 MPG around town and on a recent road trip, it got almost 38 MPG. That is almost as good as our little Honda Fit that we replaced, and this car is twice as big. There is not quite as much cargo space as the CR-V, but there is still plenty to haul groceries and the kids' sports equipment around without trouble. We both love the entertainment system. The controls are simple to operate and the stereo sounds great especially since the car rides so quietly. This is the quietest car we have ever owned. Even on the freeway, it is like you are in a quiet little bubble. At this point, we have owned the car for a month, and we have 1200 miles on it, but it has been a great purchase. If something does go wrong in the next 10 years, we have the best warranty around to get it fixed. The reason I haven't driven it yet is because my wife love it so much, she always wants to drive. Mission accomplished.

2016 Tucson Limited w/ ultimate package
This is my second Hyundai I sold my 2008 Santa Fe because I wanted all the toys This cat has it all and then some. This review is for the top of the line Limited with the Ultimate Package. Love the 7 speed dual clutch transmission. The engine has great acceleration in sport mode. Sound great too. Huge Panoramic Roof. Bought this vehicle in August2015. As of today , no problems. I am very happy with this vehicle

Dont waist your money
I've had the car a year and on my second service they replaced a part in my transmission. I asked why and they made it sound like a recall part, but it wasn't I found out. This is when the problems started. The car once warmed up and I come to a stop in drive position it would feel like someone was push on the car from outside, and making a rumbling that seemed like it was going to stall. I have taken in three time to have fixed with no help. Since my car has no lights indicating a issue my dealer or Consumer affairs Hyundai would help. I told the dealer to reverse whatever it was they did, but they said they couldn't. Besides this the car shifts all over the place and jerks you around its horrible and engine sounds terrible. The cloth interior is horrible I have white stain marks everywhere on my black cloth. If you get water or any kind of moistness on interior it stains. the only way to get fix is shampooing the car seats which is expensive. Lots of plastic and falling apart already. I'm really depressed because I have always had used cars and problems and finally bought a new car so I wont have to deal with issues and here I am again. I will be turning car into Lemon law attorney to take care of since no one can seem to fix. Also, I meet a girl with same car and same issues. These cars should be completely recalled they should not be allowed out on the road.

In May 2016, as a 30-year (two Accords) Honda owner, our first thought when it came time to acquire a more compact vehicle which was also easier for us (then ages 73 and 79) to get in and out of, was to just buy their CRV. We did test drive a couple of them - also their HRV - before "discovering" the Tucson, almost on a whim, since my impression of earlier Hyundais was not all that great. I did do quite a bit of research on the internet, becoming at least aware of almost every compact SUV then offered. With the Tucson it was a case of lust at first sight. The new sheet metal looked really nice, while from some angles, the current CRV looked almost bizarre. The Tucson interior is also very nice (we did get the Limited/Ultimate package) which gives at least the impression of a more expensive car. Driver's seating position (I'm 5'-10") is excellent, and the cooled seats are great in our 100+ summers. There is ample and comfortable seating room (for two) in the rear. Cargo area is not large, and HAS produced some challenges. The car is quiet. Instrumentation and controls are just great, and fall readily to hand. Much of the design work was done in Germany which I think is a major plus. Compared our Tucson to a friend's 2018 Mercedes GLC. NOT really as much difference as one might think! In addition to the two Hondas, we also test drove the Mazda CX-5 (our 2nd choice) the Toyota RAV4 and looked at the Nissan Rogue. We did not consider the Ford Escape at all, since it did poorly in crash-safety tests that year. The Tucson, on the other hand, received the coveted IIHS "Superior" rating. We probably should have looked at the Subaru Forester, but did not. I still say (after over 7 years of driving) that the 1.6 liter turbo engine and DCT are up to the job. When new, the Tucson was two full seconds quicker to 60, and 20 mph faster overall, than was my 1962 Austin-Healy 3000 (considered a fairly powerful sports car in its' day). All that PLUS carrying two more people, in comfort, getting TWICE the mpg! You may have read some horror stories about the DCT, which, since Hyundai did issue a recall, must have had some validity. However, in over seven years of ownership, we have STILL not had any issues with the transmission - but I am very conscious about NOT creeping in traffic! We did have the software update installed in 2017. I was a bit concerned when I learned that this power-train was being dropped for the 2019 Tucson refresh, but that was a short-lived worry, as I believe it is still being supplied in the Kona, the sub-compact class leader. We have NOT had any oil-consumption issues with the 1.6L engine - apparently that occurs more on the 2.0L unit. The navigation system has worked well, though we really need to update the chip to include roads, etc. added since purchase. We do live in a relatively flat rural area, and perhaps as a result are still getting over 28 mpg, overall, so far (86,200 miles). I isolated a full tank of highway-only driving with the car empty and got 34.7 mpg, but in-town mileage is disappointing. The ride does, at times, seem to be getting a little rougher - might need to think about replacing the shocks at some point. Originally (valuing function over trendiness) we had some qualms about the 19" wheels with the low 245/45 tire profile, but so far (we don't go off-road) all has been well with them, and I have to say the ride is OK and that the car feels really planted on the road. We wound up getting just under 65,000 miles from the original tires, which we replaced in 2022 with Continental 235/50s, giving a bit more sidewall. Through a lucky fluke I wound up with another rim, so carry a full-size spare. We almost never use the "Eco" drive mode, especially after noticing in the 2017 brochure that it had been dropped for the 1.6L engine. Performance is definitely inhibited in "Eco" mode, and I suspect that Hyundai reconsidered its' use for such a small engine moving a relatively heavy car. I'd still rate our 2016 Tucson at 9+ of 10 - based on the theory that nothing is "perfect". This is likely our last vehicle and the longer than "standard" warranty did greatly affect our decision-making. We had a failure of the AC system at around 40K miles, which put the car in the shop for over a week, but the dealer provided a free loaner, so we had ZERO expense. We would definitely buy a 2016-2018 Tucson again. Note: This review has been updated eleven times. Unfortunately, in earlier versions, SOME review features only showed up AFTER hitting "submit", so, previously published results have produced some "conflict". Following is MY current list of pros and cons, no matter what any automatic bullet-points may show: PROS: Acceleration, Roadholding, Braking, Instrumentation, Seating (front and rear), Interior design, Engineering, Warning systems, Good dealer service so far. NEUTRAL: Bluetooth (never signed up), Maintenance costs CONS: Purchase cost, Storage capacity has - after some use - DEFINITELY proven to be somewhat lacking. Have installed, and used, a hitch-mounted carrier for my wife's mobility scooter, with no apparent ill effect. (STILL) TOO EARLY TO TELL: REALLY long-term reliability, but, all is still good at just over 86,000 miles. We purchased the extended warranty, and have used it once, for some AC issues. There was a $100 deductible on a $400 bill. Also, the passenger door lower garnish fell off, and 2 of the 4 nuts holding the tailgate visor came off. ($140 in parts for both, NOT covered - but installation was free). So, just $240 out-of-pocket so far (in problems) over nearly eight full years.

2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited with Ultimate Package
Bought 2016 Hyundai Tucson after extensive research. I'm very pleased with it. Likes No issues getting gas mileage numbers advertised in mixed driving, averaging about 26-27. Straight forward and fairly simple infotainment system to use. Sunroof is just flat out awesome. No issues with power, seems to have plenty for normal driving. Ventilated seats!!! Fairly quiet ride, especially compared to the rest of the class. Quirky stuff While driving slow, transmission seems a little jerky. When going down a steep hill, transmission doesn't seem to upshift so RPM runs pretty high which is easily goes up to 2500 or so. Easily fixed by manually upshifting. Blind spot monitoring button is very bright. So, going through all the items that Edmunds wants, I gave it 3 stars because I the transmission is so bad. Everything else on the car is pretty nice. If you live in an area with stop and go traffic, this is. It the car for you. When it comes to the competition, the only vehicle I liked more was the 2017 Kia Sportage because it had a regular transmission and engine as opposed the the 7 speed dual clutch and 1.6 liter turbo that is in the Tucson. The killer was the 21-25 city/highway gas mileage that is associated with the Kia Sportage. The Honda CRV was very nice but for about the same price, no ventilated seats and the ride was not as quiet. The CRV has more storage space in the trunk, a longer history for strong resale value and reliability. The Toyota RAV4, Mazda CX-5, and Subaru Forester had too much road noise for me. I enjoy driving the Tucson. I feel the acceleration is pretty strong and I don't feel it ever lacks power. I drive pretty normally not too aggressive. The ride is fairly quiet. I love the entertainment system. I almost bought an Audi Q3 but after they showed me how to use the infotainment system, I was totally turned off. The sunroof is so awesome. The blind spot monitoring system works great. It lights up when someone shows up in your blind spot. If you turn your blinker on, it will give you an alarm. The ventilated seats are just awesome for warmer days So, I've read about some people that have had horrible issues with their Tucson and I hope to never experience what they experienced. It's horrible. I also understand that they probably sell quite a few of these vehicles so a couple of bad ones is always a possibility. I ended up paying extra for the full 100k/10 year bumper to bumper warranty just incase. I normally buy Honda's or Toyota's and have never had a problem with them in the past. Overall, Transmission is awful. Outside of that, good vehicle. 2 years update. Car still gets 3* rating. I’m not at 32k miles. Transmission is still jerky. There was a recall for the air conditioning unit. On long trips in warmer weather, car would stop blowing cold air. Dealership took care of it with no problems. Everything about the car is fine. Update. After being frustrated with dual clutch, traded in Tucson after 2.5 years.

Dual clutch problems
I purchased my 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited at the end of May 2016. For about five weeks, I enjoyed the comfort, smooth ride, quiet cabin and features. Unfortunately, after about five weeks, I had to have the vehicle towed to the local dealership because of problems with the “dual clutch transmission” (DCT). It appears that I am not the only person experiencing problems with the DCT (the Eco, Sport and Limited models of the Tucson). You should check out the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration “safercar” web-site to see the over 100 complaints 2016 Tucson owners have reported about the DCT before you buy one for yourself.

Fun to drive
The outward appearance of the 2016 Tucson caught my eye first. I then found the interior equally appealing. The warranty is definitely one of the best around so took it for a test drive. I instantly noticed how quiet it was~impressive. Nice comfortable quiet ride. A real pleasure to drive. I had never had. Hyundai before, was trading in a crv. I wanted another suv but wanted something different than what I had previously owned yet wanted a reliable efficient and comfortable vehicle. The Tucson beat out all the others I looked at including ones costing much more. I am very happy with my choice and am enjoying being a new Hyundai customer .

No acceleration!
The car does not accelerate when you press on the gas. There is a tremendous lag time, which has resulted in serious safety concerns for me and my family. I'm told it's due to it's "dual clutch" (which recently had a recall...the fix did nothing). Regardless of the reason, it's not safe and I do not want it. Hoping to trade it in tomorrow.

Buyer Beware
Ok, let me make this clear this was one of my favorite cars ever until at about 18,000 miles I had the dreaded transmission problem, the horrible 7 speed DCT. Like everyone has reported here always a slight hesitation when starting, then after a while a little whining, took it to the dealer at 23,000 miles, new transmission, and they had the nerve to tell me this was not a big problem, wow after reading all the reviews here an out, and out lie. Anyway got the car back after about 10 days, and then making a left turn going from first gear to second, nothing right in front of traffic, finally kicked in and got out with my life, took it back to the dealer, they said again that they had not heard of this, another lie. They kept it for a week, could not duplicate the problem, but did a software update. After reading all the problems that have been listed here by many customers, it's time for Hyundai to step up, LOL they won't, anyone up for a class action lawsuit?

Bought and did not plan on purchasing new vehicle
I had a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe with only 24,000 miles on it. I took my mother shopping for a new crossover SUV that had to have AWD. We looked at Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, Subaru Forrester and Outback, Ford Escape, and Chevrolet Equinox. For the price, design, comfort and technology features the Hyundai Tucson beat them all. I drove the vehicle and was so impressed with it that I traded in my Santa Fe for the Tucson Sport trim level. My mother bought the ECO trim level. The only issue I have had is that the exterior lights that are to light the front door handle areas when approaching the vehicle with the key fob on me do not work. Hyundai realized the issue and corrected it. The 1.6T turbo engine has plenty of power. Sport mode gets the vehicle on the highway fast and passing other vehicles is quick. I drive mostly in ECO mode and get about 24mpg city and 32mpg highway. One note as it pertains to interior/exterior colors: We both wanted the beige interior, yet it only comes in 4 of the exterior colors. My mother wanted the Caribbean blue exterior, yet the interior only came in a black interior. We both bought Tucsons with the Ruby Wine exterior. I wanted leather interior, yet it only comes in the Tucson's Limited trim level. For what the price is for the Limited trim level, it is almost priced like a similar trim level on a Santa Fe (I.E. The Tucson Limited is overpriced.) UPDATE: I've had the vehicle over a year and still like it. I wish that the Radio/Phone/Entertainment screen was the same as the Santa Fe. There are features on the Santa Fe screen, such as when the radio is on it shows the artist and song, and on the Tucson that information is not displayed and is not available. One would think that the two screens would use the same software.

Beware
Make no mistake this car is dangerous and Hyundai is being extremely silent about it my brand new 2016 less than 45 days old has been in the shop more than I've driven it I am on my third rental car from them and now Hyundai's inspectors have come out looked at the car and are holding it hostage as they can't decide what to do with this car please please go read and look at the videos on Hyundai turbo issues the dual-clutch transmission is a nightmare and an accident waiting to happen someone is going to get killed in this car

just disappointed overall, the transmission issues over and over, I don't feel safe pulling out into traffic and getting close to rear ending someone when the car lungs forward, overall I just am disappointed, this is my 4th Hyundai the other 3 no issues, we have a 2005 Tuscon V6 great car never in shop, had an Elantra and Accent as well, good solid vehicles, but no this time. So today 12/9/2016 it is back in shop and going thru thorough testing they will have it for a week or more? Trhe rental they gave me is a Jeep Compass, it a horrible car, i'll never buy Jeep. Well Put Together. We Love it.
We had looked at the Tucson three years ago and were not at all impressed. This year we looked at the 2016 Tucson Limited and test drove it before we leased it. We were impressed with the changes. The interior quality was excellent with everything having a tight fit and the the driver and passenger electric seats are great. Very good visibility over the dash and hood. We love the push button start and auto tail gate opening as you approach the rear of the car. The BlueLink is easy to use and my wife loves it. The back up camera assist is huge.The radio sound system on the Limited is fabulous. And on this SUV the road noise and wind noise has been reduced significantly. The Navigation system is easy to use and we like the built in compass that shows in the rear view mirror and on the navigation system. The Limited has a very large navigation screen plus extra safety features I won't get into. We love this car. The only down sides so far was that we paid a little more then we wanted to to get the bells and whistles we wanted plus the leather seats. But the apparent quality of the material, options we got and warranty sold us. One thing to note. We did not experience some of the more serious issues other reviewers noted regarding the Turbo Charger. We did note a slight hesitation in starting off after a "stop". The Dealer notified us a week later of a software fix which we had done which gave a slight improvement but the hesitation is there and is more annoying then a safety issue. It is something that needs to be fixed in future models. The engine in very very quiet as well as the transmission. When the car is in idle you can't even tell it is running. After looking at the material quality, road noise etc of Ford and Chevy this car has them beat. Now time will tell. If you want all the bells and whistles go with the Limited. We passed on the sun roof. We are in the second year of the lease and we have not had to take the car in for any problem or issue needing fixing.

Modern throwback without the throwback!
Great overall small SUV! The turbo is more than enough and the 7 speed transmission is smooth and efficient. It has a dual clutch transmission which acts like a manual at low speeds without depressing a clutch or shifting. Reminds me of my first vehicle I ever drove except with ALOT more technological advances. Nice and roomy inside. Safety features galore. My only complaint is the somewhat numb steering feel. Three different driving modes (Eco, Sport, Normal) that allow you to tailor it to your surroundings. I'm averaging 27.4mpg with 80% city driving in Normal mode. Overall I felt I made a wise choice.

Love my Tucson Limited with Ultimate package!!
When you first drive this vehicle you will notice that the cabin is exceptionally quiet, as if there are no other vehicle on the road. All the instrument cluster are placed perfectly and can be used as needed. One of the many feature I like is the panoramic sunroof perfect for any weather and I like it when it is raining :) I drove the dCT aka dual clutch transmission for the first time. It needs a bit getting used to as the other car, which is a Honda, that I have is the traditional A/T transmission. Overall it shifts pretty well and fast and you can feel the turbo kick in as you throttle it. The price point wise I would say it is value for money as the features you get are some of the top of line segment. I would highly recommended this SUV!!

Bad Transmission and Hyundai Corporate silent
This DCT transmission in the Tucson Ltd. 1.6 Turbo is an accident waiting to happen. My wife got stuck while trying to enter 4 lane divided highway. The car stalled while trying to enter traffic and luckily cars were able to avoid her. I put the car in reverse on a hot day and it wouldn't move. We owned the car only two weeks when all this went on. The dealer has the car now and hasn't been able to diagnose or fix. We heard there is no fix available. Don't by this this car.

mostly i am enjoying this vehicle. i have had some issues with the headrest because it juts out so far that it pushes my head and neck forward. it might be because of my height, i am only 5'1". i did try sitting on a cushion, but this didn't resolve the problem. in the end i discovered that i could in fact take the headrest out and flip it around. i don't know if this fits with hyundai's safety guidelines, but it worked for my head and neck and i am far more comfortable in my car now. the only other issue i have is the seat, again probably because of my height. the back of my knees rest on the edge of the seat and cause my legs to ache. if i was taller, i'm sure my fit in the seat would be better. i resolve this for the most part by buying a memory foam seat to raise me up a bit and that has worked out okay. also, in the little over a year that i've owned this vehicle, i've had to bring it back for at least 5 recalls which have been easily resolved, though i noticed no problems. the service department and the staff there are very friendly and my dog is welcome, so the inconvenience has been small.

DON'T BUY HYUNDAI :(
I've had it in 3 time on my electric lock, it makes a screeching noise and until THEY hear it they won't fix it. You have a warrant on it but they will not fix it. Plus the transmission is slipping when you are at a stop sign it acts like it can't get up to go and you have to push the gas pedal really hard so you want get hit. Then one morning at home I was backing out of my drive way and put it in drive and it would not go, it took like 5 minutes before it would move I took it to Bob Howard in OKC and they keep all day and said can't get it to do it. So bring it back and leave it a few days, I am scare to drive it. I feel like because Iam a older woman and a widow they are not listen to me. So don't buy at Bob Howard in OKC.The transmission is terrible it shifts like it was a old stick car, it has something called a double clutch that cannot be fixed, They reset it back to the factory settings, and said that all they can do. THe door locks still has the screeching noise, they put on new locks but it still does it. So when I pick it up they said they could do no more. Plus when I bought it he let on that I could get cheaper interest if I took this $1400.00 play that protects the inside and out, which by the way consists of 5 bottles of stuff for you to use on it. When I try to cancel it they make it clear it cannot be cancel. So rip off as usual, so that adds on to the cost which you will never see. So my question is can they be sued and is anyone suing them and getting anywhere. I truely afraid to drive this car. How about some help. BJ

Worst vehicle ever owned.
On your test drive do all the things you would during your normal driving... punch it, test all the modes, parallel park it. I wish i would have done that as it has some strange things that it will do on its own.... from a dead stop the rpms will drop when you are on the brake and when you let off alittle bit the rpms will jump and the car will lurch forward on its own making it very hard to park in a tight spot....i have a small garage and have to inch in and it always almost hits my other car in front....i hope this is a fixable issue as it very annoying....has alot of turbo lag and seems confused as how to shift off the line or when you need to overtake someone on the freeway.....seems like i have to drive around the quarks that it has and so far have not be able to get used to them because it is so random....maybe its just the one i have but after reading the other reviews it seems that alot of other people are experiencing the same issues....other than that its a sexy style and has alot of potential....hopefully for me this will be fixable with Hyundai....because accelerating on its own is not safe!!....will update if it is fixable or not..... UPDATE... well after seeing the dealer and doing the Ecu update and talking to the tech....this is just the nature of the dual clutch transmission....think of it as if you were driving a stick and had to use a clutch...it does this automatically from a dead stop to a slow roll and will cause it to have a pause during a hard acceleration .....WISH they would have told me this during my test drive!!...which is hard to tell during normal driving until you have to park or coast really slow.....so we are going to have to just deal with it....ill be surely getting rid of this tucson as quickly as a option comes my way....good luck everybody.... Update Feb 22, 2019 Car has been falling apart. Worst vehicle we have ever owned. Both passenger side doors do not open now. Transmission is still exactly the same we just have learned how to drive with its problems. Stay away.

Transmissions problems for 2 years now!!
This car has had transmissions problems for 2 years now. We have taken it in over 10 times to have them fix the transmission or acceleration hesitation. We have almost been in two accidents because the car failed to accelerate when needed. We have almost been in several more because of having to press the accelerator more and then it leap forward. This car is broken and dangerous and the dealership states "It drives as intended". We cannot get them to fix it! After researching I found all over the internet others with the same issue. Hyundai did a recall that was supposed to fix transmission issues and yet they are still there. Based on my experience with Hyundai and the dealership I will never buy another Hyundai. Beware!

Don't buy it!
Horrible transmission. The rest of the car is great but the transmission is a safety hazard and due to the transmission issues the ride quality is abysmal. The car bucks and has a hard time shifting at low speed, for example pulling out to make a turn into traffic - it often won't go. Hyundai says "as designed" - well a $400 Yugo's transmission is better than this. Do your self a favor and buy another brand. Never again Hyundai.

my 2016 tucson has milky engine oil since 750 miles,been to dealer they said and i quote no problem,has warranty don't open the hood check nothing.....my comment ,so run it until it blows up..... and again i quote they said yep..well the mileage is now 2400 only and starting to crap out. i don't want this turd or another hyundai,i want out of this deal

New Tucson
I drove a bunch of different SUVs in this price category. My impressions: Honda CRV - Nice car but under powered. Would have bought this if it came in a 6 cyl. or turbo. Mazda MX-5 Also nice but rather austere and plain. Ford Escape - Very nice styling, good power, busy instrumentation and a bit too close and crowded in the front seat. Hundai Santa Fe - unimpressed, also under-powered based on the non turbo version I drove. Hundai Tucson Ltd 1.6 with turbo engine....Goldie Locks - everything felt just right. Nice styling, nice ride. Very impressed with the 1.6 turbo engine and the vehicle's acceleration. Turbos sometimes take a little getting used to. Instrumentation is clear and not cluttered. Sporty feel with very good brakes. Cabin feels larger than the competitors. Lots of technology bells and whistles. This year 2016 is a new re-design. I have the vehicle a short time, so I can't attest to its reliability. However, Hundai offers one of the best vehicle warantees in the business. So far, I have been very pleased with the vehicle.

Transmission Fixed
Hyundai was finally able to fix the dual-clutch transmission (DCT) problem with a complete software update. So far.....so good. Otherwise, the new-style Tucson is a vast improvement over the old one, and we are happy with it.

Always a jerky start up
I have had my car back to the dealer, but, the dual clutch issues of jerky ride is normal. I have been driving for sixty years and have owned 25 cars including VW, Datsun, Pontiac, Buick, Chevy, Honda and 5 Hyundai. With the exception of the 2016 Tucson Limited 1.6T, all the other transmission were smooth....not this one and the dealer said it is the design of the transmission. Hyundai Of American is looking into the issue. More to come....I was told that the issue is not a defect, but, a design to improve gas mileage. Give me the smooth transmission and I will give up a few miles to the gallon. Hyundai please fix the problem!!!!!!

It would be exceptional other than one thing
Overall it's a great CUV. Performs brilliantly in the snow which is why I got it. The one gripe which is a big gripe and you can see it peppered through the other reviews, is that the tranmission, the dual clutch is jerky and confused and feels like the clutch is slipping in very low speeds (1-10 mph). I had a VW dual clutch before this car, and from my understanding former VW engineers built this car which was a big selling point, but the VW dual clutch doesn't have this issue and it's incredibly awkward in slow moving traffic. It would have been a 10 out of 10 if they just got this right, and I think a proper software revision would fix it. Hope to god they do.

Dangerous and done with Hyundai
Dangerous car. I bought a 2016 Tucson and after owning a 2012 Tucson and New Genesis I thought this was a Quality product. Not so with this vehicle. Transmission would not go in gear when I stopped at lights or would slow down to 20 mph on the open road. Very dangerous. There is no fix at this point. The dealer who was great changed the clutch actuator and it worked for a month. After almost getting hit by a truck I decided I had enough of Hyundai pretending they never heard of this while there are hundreds of owners on the web complaining that they can not drive their cars, I decided to take a loss and traded it in on another brand of vehicle. I guess corporate profits over customer safety.

My 4th Hyundai - 2016 Tuscon
I traded a 2008 Sante Fe for this vehicle. I wanted one that was just a little smaller and had the safety feature of backup camera and hands free talking. This suv has 3 drive modes: regular, eco and sport. It drives great and the seats are very comfortable. I love the automatic day driving lights and the fact that I can open the trunk without unlocking the whole car.

Best CUV out there right now.
So let me start this review off by saying that any of the less than perfect reviews you see on here are people that didn't know what they were getting into when they made their purchase. If you aren't used to a turbo charged engine then you will need to learn how to drive the car to minimize turbo lag. And if you aren't used to a Dual Clutch Transmission then you will need to get used to that too. Several of the reviews that I read were people saying that the car felt weird or when you stepped on the gas the power wasn't immediately available. That isn't the car's fault, that is your fault for not knowing what you were purchasing. That being said, I come from a family that has only bought Toyota/Lexus and would have never considered purchasing a Hyundai. I had lived in Korea for a few years and had seen their quality go up but still figured that I would stick with Toyota no matter what. After doing a lot of research, going on several test drives, and realizing that we would probably only have this car for about 5 years, we decided to go with the Limited Tuscon with all the bells and whistles and AWD. It is zippy, quiet to drive in, handles amazingly, and is super super comfortable. My wife is in love with it. The quality and attention to detail is awesome and it is plenty big for us to take our two golden retrievers and all our gear for camping out on adventures. The all wheel drive works amazingly and we have been in very deep snow with it even just with the stock tires on 19" rims. So, for those that know what they are getting into with a turbo charged vehicle with a dual clutch transmission, you will love this car. It is so much better looking than every other CUV out there and is fun to drive and still gets 27 mpg combined. And that's with me almost burning rubber at every stop light because I love the little turbo so much. It feels like a luxury car and everything is extremely easy to use. The only thing I think it is missing is a memory function for the seats but I can't complain when we got so many other things for the price (blind spot monitoring, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, rear seat warmers). Bottom line. We love this car. It might be the only car that I love as much as my 4Runner. If you want a great CUV then go with the Tuscon and you won't be disappointed.

Hyundai Tuscon Great SUV for a first time SUV owne
I was looking for a SUV to replace my 8 cylinder full time 4wd Dodge Durango that was aging. Consumer Reports and Edmunds both rated the Hyundai SUVs in the top 3, so they were on my shortlist from the beginning. From this line, I tested the Hyundai Tuscon AWD 4cyl, 4cyl turbo, and the Santa Fe 6cyl optioned up with the technology/safety packages. While I thought the handling and drive were smooth, the vehicles lacked power even in the turbo version. The luxury versions were nice inside and had all the great technology options of the more expensive vehicles in the class, but I found the seats not terribly comfortable in the middle and back rows. In addition, I had some difficulty climbing into the driver's seat at 5'1". There wasn't any step-up/running board, or handle to assist climbing in on the driver or passenger side. Considering I was coming from a much larger & taller vehicle, and didn't have these issues, I found this dissappointing. The price was attractive an competitive, with a great warranty. One thing I found odd is that all the local dealers ONLY had BLACK and WHITE on the lot available for purchase. Living in a large metro area, with 3 dozen or so dealers in a 30 mile radius, I found this a huge issue. If I wanted another color, I had to order and wait. Being that I needed a vehicle ASAP, this presented a problem. All in all, I preferred the Santa Fe 6cyl, but it is a significant amount more than the Tuscon for virtually the same vehicle/features. For someone going from a car to a SUV, the Hyundai Tuscon and Santa Fe are great vehicles for the money. If you are going from one of the other big SUVs, you may be underwhelmed. I ended up purchasing the Dodge Durango Citadel AWD which is the top rated SUV

After 8 years finally got rid of this car
***UPDATE 5/2023, SOLD CAR and couldn’t be happier!*** ***UPDATE NOW 4 YEARS & 84,000 MILES *** The car I still love all the features it has for the price point. Still love the look and the comfort of the seats. HOWEVER- the Dual clutch still sucks and has cause my value to go way down which is not the best and hence why I have kept it. Blue link still forces the Hazards to flash when you remote start, annoying yes!! Car still shakes a ton when at fast speeds even with brand new $1200.00 tires. Small things are starting to go wrong with it. Funny on how only 2 years after this was first release it now dose not have the Dual Clutch in it any more, how surprising LOL> The gas millage is terrible with this car. I average only 23 miles per gallon overall and can only push out 25 for all HWY miles and that is terrible. My husband V6 gets about that The turbo still isn't great at all and still has much hesitation to to. The only way to get even a good chance of it working right is putting the car in "Sport Mode" Would I ever buy this car again, maybe but the jury is still out on that one. **UPDATE - now 3 yrs in and 56000 miles, tranny has had 3 recalls and it still is terrible. Dual clutch is the worst idea. Car only gets on average and at best. 20/21 city and 24/26 hwy which is way less than stated the car should get especially for such a small engine. Still love all features of car tho.***

So Far, Everything is Ok - UPDATED 3/10/2018
Unsafe Acceleration and transmission issues - My wife and I love the new redesign and amenities in this car however the DCT transmission is new for the Tucson. I am hopeful that a software recall is coming soon which would resolve these issues. My wife had a major scare with our 2 year old in the car when she tried to accelerate from a stop to make a turn at a busy intersection only to find the car would not even move. She got it in gear by switching it to manual and was able to go. If Hyundai does not resolve this soon, this could become a class action lawsuit especially if there are any fatalities because of these issues. I already contacted the Motor Company with my concerns but have not heard back as of yet. Update as of 1/30/16: The Motor Company has made contact and a rep along with a field engineer will meet us at the dealer on Monday 2/1. Update as of 3/5/16 The Motor Company has changed out the TCU (Transmission Control Unit). We are still having the same issues. The car has been with the dealer for 5 weeks now. The latest update is that they are putting in a new transmission. We had this car for 5 months now. Out of the 5 months, the car has been at the dealer for 7 weeks. We have been in a loaner car since. We got the car back with a new transmission. I am still concerned that this was not a one off but an issue across the board on all 2016 Tucsons. I will update with new developments. Update as of 9/7/2016 After a new transmission and driving the car for about 3,000 miles, the issues came back as I suspected they would. I can not trust the car to accelerate when needed and sometimes even stalls out. The AC sometimes blows hot air instead of cold air. I'm not sure how that is related to the transmission but it is a new issue. I planned on contacting Hyundai Motor Company once again but found out just today that a transmission software update was issued on 8/11/2016. I have an appointment with the dealer this Saturday to update. I will provide another update in this review after the update. Update as of 3/10/2017 The software update issued on 8/11/2016 seems to have fixed the issue. The car has been driven 5,000 miles with no issues. 3/10/2018 UPDATE So far, the transmission is holding up. We are going to pay off and keep this car. In case of any issues, we have purchased additional warranties on the vehicle but are hopeful we will never need to use them. At this point, if one is interested in the redesigned Tucson, they can purchase a 2017 or 2018 model. I'm sure any issues with the 2016 have been rectified.

Better Give It A Try Before You Write It Off
I have 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited and have come to really enjoy this car. At first, I was not sure if the car had a transmission problem because I was not use to the dual clutch transmission and turbo drive motor. However, having driven it now for almost two years I am happy to report that all is well. I read more articles about the car, with it's innovative dual clutch, turbo engine, and the car behaves as it was intended. When one drives one of these cars, it is suppose to feel like a manual transmission engine but it is fully automatic. At first, this was a bit rough, however, over time, I have learned to adjust to it and now consider this a very minor issue. The car is really a good car. It's fun to drive. NEVER BUY HYUNDAI
On June 1, 2017, I purchased a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Limited with Ultimate Package. Approximately six months ago, I noticed that when I released the brake to move forward after stopping the car would jerk. On June 2018, I took my car to Fort Mill Hyundai. The service center reset the adaptive values on my transmission and told me this would help correct the problem. This did not help at all. Within days the car was jerking once again. A month later, while attempting to turn left across a main street, my car did not accelerate. The RPMs increased but the car did not move for at least 5 seconds if not longer. Two weeks later, while once again, I was turning left on another busy street the car did not accelerate. I took the car to South Charlotte Hyundai on August 6, 2018. After going three days without a car, South Charlotte Hyundai called (8/9/2018) to tell me my problem had been fixed by resetting the adaptive values on my transmission. This was the same "fix" Fort Mill Hyundai did in June 2018 which did not correct the problem. On August 13, 2018, while traveling with my family, including my five-year-old nephew, my car failed to accelerate after a brief stop at a stop sign. I called Fort Mill Hyundai to make an appointment to have this serious issue looked at again. I was told that the earliest appointment that they had was a week from now on August 21, 2018. Because of this serious issue with my car, I have been exploring the best option for me. After getting no satisfactory answer from the Hyundai USA consumer affair department, I decided that it may be best to do a private sale for my car. I did also visit the Fort Mill Hyundai to evaluate my option of trading in my car for a safer one. When my sales associate took my car to be evaluated they found that South Charlotte Hyundai made a major mistake which makes them, or any other dealers unwilling to purchase my car. This mistake began in June 2017 when a light in my dashboard replaced. I took my car to South Charlotte Hyundai to have the light replaced. When the car was returned I noticed that the odometer had been reset to 0. I spoke with the serviceman about this reset and he showed me a sticker that they had put on the inside of the driver's door showing the original miles. When I raised my concern that people would not know the sticker was there the serviceman said: “the system will let them know that the odometer was reset.” Months later when I took my car to Precision Tune for an oil change, my miles was recorded as the amount on my current odometer reading. When I later took it to Fort Mill Hyundai in June 2018 they too recorded my miles at its current odometer reading. Another dealership also was not alerted to this issue and recorded the miles incorrectly as well. These records of a lower mileage have raised a red flag on my Carfax report which I was unaware of until the recent appraisal at Fort Mill Hyundai. I was told, that it was determined they couldn't purchase my vehicle with this defect on the Carfax. The service manager went on to tell me that I could not sell the car privately with this defect. He said it could open me up to liability legal liability concerns. I contacted Hyundai USA on August 14, 2018, to ask them is there any way that they could not only fix my Carfax report but fix my odometer to reflect my actual mileage. The customer service representative I spoke with, Erin, was completely uncaring. She told me that Precision Tunes had made the mistake and that Hyundai USA will not help me with correcting the carfax report. She did not address the transmission issue or my request to have the odometer fixed. Her response was that Hyundai USA do not cause the issue and so they would not help me. On August 15, 2018 I spoke to Fort Mill Hyundai about fixing my odometer. They informed me that it can be done but South Charlotte Hyundai would have to send it off to be corrected. I then called Hyundai USA to see if I could get a new case manager to help with at least getting the odometer fixed. I was told that the case was closed and they will not review it again.

TUSCAN TORTURE!!!!!
This vehicle has a very known transmission problem. It has no pickup and had a recall on this problem in which I was never notified. I got stuck in a busy intersection and bought my car to service and was told about the recall at that time. Second issue with this vehicle the transmission overheats in traffic, corporate and service are aware of this problem!!!! This should have a consumer recall immediately it put my family in danger when this occurred on a major bridge. Do not buy or lease this vehicle it is not safe!!!!!!

Had a 2011 Tucson. 2016 not worth it
I traded in my 2011 Hyundai Tucson and regretted it very fast. I had never had an issue with my 2011, so I decided to get a newer and better version and it was a big mistake. Within 2 weeks it was in the shop. It stalls occasionally which is extremely dangerous, the air condition starts throwing out hot air and then goes back to cold after a while. the RPM's go up and down, but the shop hasn't found anything wrong with it. It is in the shop again, and hopefully this time they will be able to fix it and find exactly what is wrong with it. It also has a few recalls which are said to cause accidents. I do not advise anyone to but this car until it is completely fixed.

Real Unsafe for anyone to drive
Do Not BUY!!! I have almost been hit several times, Cussed many times because the car will not go, you can floor this thing and it will go nowhere. I have been to the dealership for they said was a fix and no still not fixed. Asked to speak to the General manager of Daytona Hyundia and no they gave me supervisor of shop after being told by your service manager there is no fix. This is a unsafe car and there should be something done. I have never been told there is no fix for any car I have ever owned. I was also told by a salesperson I didn't know how to drive this car and have the service department set it back to factory setting. WHAT!!! Many answers no fixes. I would think if Hyundia wanted return customers or any customers they would do something after all they claim the 2015 doesn't have this problem and the 2017 doesn't have this problem then WHY does the 2016???

Great little car with hesitation
We have owned this car for over two years and it's unfortunately time to go. We have had problems with the gas pedal that is oddly connected to the floor like in a video game from the 80's. There is a hesitation at times when you step on the pedal, which was addressed in a recall in the first year but did not seem to solve the problem. Also breaking in the car results in a bucking as you begin to come to a complete stop and when you begin to accelerate. I will be trading it in for a loss of about 1k. Its just not built like a Toyota.

The Good, the OK and the "really" Ugly!
In the 21 months we've had this Tucson Limited there has been a lot to like. First, it's a good looking little SUV, my wife's is white. The Tucson also has quite a bit of pep once you get used to the sluggish turbo spool up when starting from a complete stop, like at an intersection or traffic light. However, once moving it has very adequate power and rides and handles like a larger SUV. In my judgement it has more power than the 2017 CRV Limited we recently took for a test drive. However, the CRV was a little more upscale, comfortable and roomy compared to our 2016 Tucson. However, the Tucson may have been a little quieter on the road and seemed to handle better as well. As stated, the Tucson handles great around town and it is rock steady on the interstate moving at 75 plus MPH while giving you the impression it's a larger SUV than it actually is. Also, unlike the CRV, the Tucson has both an volume and tuning know for the radio, while honda has a volume knob only, which makes no sense to me. We now have over 24,000 miles on the Tucson, most of which were aquired traveling monthly from the Jackson, MS Metro to the North East side of Atlanta. The 2016 Tucson Limited has been great except for one big and fatal flaw. In the Spring of 2016 we noticed the AC system started out cooling perfectly and after a hundred miles or so stopped cooling, blowing warm air. The bottom line is we have to shut the system down, let it rest for about 10 minutes and restart only to have it repeat the problem every 45 minutes or so while traveling the Interstate. In fact the AC issue happened five times yesterday before we arrived in the Atlanta area. We've taken the Tucson to the dealer several times in Jackson with no help. They always say there is no bulletin on the problem and they can't fix a problem they can't duplicate. I've spoken with three dealerships in the Atlanta area as well with pretty much the same story. The sad truth is that nobody with Hyundai really cares. When it's summer in the Deep South, that's a fatal flaw, so we're done with Hyundai and headed back to Honda were in 8 leases between the two of us we've never had an issue. Bye Bye Hyundai...

Renting it and loving it!
I am currently renting this vehicle and it has been almost perfect. Since it's a rental, it's the base version, without the turbo or the dual clutch transmission. Just the 2.0L engine and the 6 speed automatic. The weaker engine struggles just a bit in some situations, but I love this car so much, I don't mind. The engine is perfectly fine under normal circumstances, but load the car up with people and stuff and go up an incline and it will feel over-taxed. The steering and handling on this thing is just plain fun. I would not have thought that a simple people mover CUV would be so much fun to drive, but it is. Now, it's not a sports car, and it does start to feel a bit unstable at very high freeway speeds (over 90 mph - which traffic sometimes gets to on our Southern California freeways). Emergency maneuvers at highway speeds would probably be a bad idea (my normal car is a Mercedes sedan that is stable at just about any speed). The Tucson is also quite comfortable and roomy, both front and back. The cargo area is a very decent size, but it feels a bit smaller than the official figures. (Actually, I think the way cargo space is calculated gives an unfair advantage to SUV's and CUV's as compared to sedans). The gauges and infotainment features are very good, very informative, and very easy to use, especially considering that this is a base model. Overall, I love this car and can see myself buying it.

Unsafe acceleration from dead stop.
As Rusty_Blades has stated in an earlier review (and I've replied to the same), My Tucson as delivered has an issue with acceleration from a dead-stop that is both annoying an potentially dangerous. I've only had the car less than a week and haven't been able to talk to service about this yet, so hopefully there is now a fix, I'll update this review when I find out. The problem is that the car starts to accelerate on its own as soon as you take your foot off the pedal, this seemed a bit odd when I test drove it, but I was so impressed with it's performance at highway speed that I purchased it just the same. I wish I had taken Rusty's advice and tried to parallel park it during the test drive. When I tried this a day after I purchased it the buyers remorse really started to kick-in hard. I'm sure Hyundai will come up with a fix for this if they haven't already, but until I can get this fixed this stays at a 2-star review. My other main beef with this car is that the head rest can't be adjusted far enough back for my comfort, I may have to take it apart and try to come up with a way of further adjusting it. Otherwise, I think I'd be super happy with this car, it is very quiet, smooth as silk at highway speed, and Peppy with a capital P. 1/11/18 Update: Increased rating to 3-stars, probably doesn't deserve it, but 2-stars seemed too severe. The programming on the transmission for this car is still a mess. Although Hyundai issued a recall for reprogramming, I find the new programming to actually be worse than the original. The car lurches a little less, but the engagement in reverse is even worse than it was before--makes parallel parking interesting, especially when facing down hill. Additionally, every time I take this car in to be serviced it seems like I get it back with a new issue: 1. First Service, came back with and odd popping noise that would occur (1-time) shortly after putting the transmission under load. 2. Second service reprogram of Trans. made low speed engagement worse and fuel economy dropped 1-2 mpg. 3a. Third service, which (supposedly included changing the cabin air filter), has made the car smell awful when humid--very strange. 3b. Car has developed a strange "oil canning" noise perhaps from the fuel tank, as if the tank is under a slight vacuum while driving and then restores it's shape when I shut down the engine. I have yet to crawl under the car to see if this is the case. 1/24/19 Update: Source of oil-canning sound from rear of car at shut off is actually from the muffler (that is about as big as a gas tank). Annoying, but nothing to worry about. There's been a new recall on the vehicle recently and I need to get it into have that resolved. Fuel economy has continued to slowly drop. 10/31/19 Update: Pretty much status quo, except that the funky smell coming from the vents of this car may become a bigger issue than the DCT at some point if it get's worse next summer. I don't drive this car that much since I work from home, but there seems to be a design flaw in the AC system that leads to musty smells in humid weather. I've had a couple of small hiccups with the DCT, but nothing major yet. I see there is now a class action suit regarding DCT. Seems like that will mainly help people who have had major failures or who sell the car due to safety or performance concerns.

Went from always having a car to the Tuscon Sport
Okay, so I never had an SUV before and never planned on it, but when my lease was expiring on my Sonata it was time to look. The Tuscon Sport looked so great and sporty I had to give it a try. The heated seats and the way the seat hugs you is so comfortable! I tried the Sante Fe, but the Tuscon seat comfort was much better to me. The ride is quiet and pretty smooth considering I live where there aren't very great kept streets. I drive mostly in ECO mode and have turned it off and noticed the huge difference in power, I have also played with the manual shift and might experience some more as I can drive a manual. Brakes work great and I love the back up camera and was surprised when it warned me a car was coming up the street and not to mention I love the lane change indicator for the blind spots. So now I'll never go back to a car again... And I love Hyundai as their warranty is to die for....I have owned a 2003 Elantra, then the 2012 Sonata, but the Tuscon by far the best. I didn't even bother looking at other SUV's, I'm glad I read the other reviews about the other SUV's out there..confirmed to me I did not make a mistake in buying my Tuscon. My SUV gets great compliments...1) mailman was like wow that has a really great trim line, 2) dealership the person installing my remote start said what a beautiful vehicle, 3) my friend was wowed by the appearance....was not expecting the first 2 at all and never had anyone say anything about my Sonata. So go for it, if thinking of buying....I love mine!

Still fantastic after 90,000 miles and 4 1/2 years
Completely re-designed for 2016. The Tucson looks great. The 1.6 turbo with the dual-clutch transmission has terrific performance, especially when accelerating in second and third gears. There is enough to pass in a hurry in Interstate driving. Our gas mileage has greatly exceeded the manufacturer's figures. We get 31-34 combined and normally between 34-38 on the highway between 70-75 miles per-hour. We topped 40 on one occasion. The car is quiet, handles well and the seats are extremely comfortable for trips. They are firm and the lumbar support works well. Cargo space is almost as much as was on the 2012 Santa Fe we traded in. This is our fifth Hyundai and we have never had any problems with any of them. We had a great dealer where we bought and serviced the car in North Carolina and are fortunate that the dealership in Orange Park, Florida, where we have been for 3 years, is just as good. We have never had a bad experience at any Hyundai dealership. The 2017 and 2018 Tucsons with the 1.6 turbo are basically the same as our 2016, so what we've experienced with ours should carry over to the new ones.We traded the Tucson in on a 2016 Subaru Forester. The Tucson had just over 97,000 trouble-free miles on it, but after 5 Hyundais in 21 years, we wanted something different. No problems of any kind with any of the Hyundais.

UPDATE: After reading one of the comments from my review, I decided to give an update to this review. The person who thought I was being "over dramatic", do you even own this vehicle? Since my post, have you seen all of the bad reviews for this vehicle for similar issues? When a person's life is in danger, as you can see from all the MANY other bad reviews regarding safety, how can you say that is being over dramatic? After having the initial repair, we continued to have the same transmission problems that others have been having, although I didn't mention this is the original review. The car has almost completely stalled many times pulling out into traffic that under normal circumstances would have been safe to do, that is, having plenty of time to do it safely. We finally took the vehicle back to the dealer because it had a recall for the latch and mentioned this problem. We were told it needed a gear actuator. Which they had to special order and it was going to take awhile. After not hearing anything for 2 weeks we called the dealer and was advised it was on back order and would be another couple of weeks. We have since got the car back and it still has the same hesitations. After the car had been in the shop for a total of 39 days between both incidents we have sent in the paperwork to lemon this vehicle out. By law in GA it is 30 days out of service (not to mention it would also fall under the other stipulation of failure to fix a serious life threatening problem (which in both cases it was). Beware though, even in the handbook, the manufacturer can't even put in the proper information for getting them the paperwork, the zip code wasn't complete AND it was wrong, had to be auto-corrected when sending them the paperwork. They have 20 days and we have requested buy back, no way do I want another piece of crap car that they have so many problems with. Like one review said, this is a class action law suit waiting to happen. It is a matter of time before someone gets seriously injured. You have no way of contacting corporate directly and when you call customer care you keep getting told you should hear something in 3-5 days. We are following up with the state again tomorrow. Very disappointing, dealership and corporate. I purchased a loaded 2016 Tuscan from a brand new dealership only open 1 week. I had the car for just 1 day shy of 1 MONTH. I was driving home and without warning LOST ALL POWER. Thankfully I was able to get it pulled to the side in a subdivision. I had NO warning of this. Dash light all came on, advising check AEB and TPMS. I couldn't even use my hazard lights!!!! After getting it towed to the dealership we purchased it from we went the next morning and was told the alternator had failed to charge the battery!!!! Really, a brand new car!!!! The manager refused to even talk with us after several attempts to speak with him. Total loss of EVERYTHING on a vehicle is a HUGE safety concern. Thankfully it didn't happen 5 minutes earlier when I was going 60!!!! The manufacturer advises it will be MAYBE February before they can get the alternator since it is so new. Definitely falling under lemon law since out for more than 30 days and major safety issue!!!!!! I would have given this no stars but didn't allow this. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sometime newest technology not always what they claim and not worth it.

LAG is terrible and fuel mileage NOT even close
The lag when you accelerate is not only annoying but DANGEROUS. Several times I have tried to pull out into traffic where I really needed to pick up speed quickly. Hit the gas and the car sits there for a few seconds.....and THEN darts out into traffic when you have another vehicle coming up on you. Also, forget about using the ECO or even regular setting. If you want any pep AT ALL, plan on having it in Sport mode all the time. And even then you aren't getting much. Fuel economy not even close to what they say. The most I have gotten in city is 17 mpg and it has been as low as 12.....yes 12!!!! This will be my last Hyundai.
