It is a nice fit
The Tucson is a nice fit for a small family. Has plenty of leg room, head room and storage for everyone. Performance wise I find that it has been somewhat difficult to start and stay running. It just doesn't want to start some days and acts like its flooded. This is the only problem Ive had. Otherwise it has been great.
OK, but
the SUV does not even get close to the est. milage. It would be better if they changed the gear ratios or make it a 4 speed trans. Other then that it is fun to drive. I had a 4cyl. and traded up to the 6 after a road trip. The 4 gets better milage but does not go up hill and was very loud when going 65mph. I purchased because of safety features and the warrenty. My other Suv was 2 years old,

My Tuscon
I bought this as a in town run-a-round. I have found this to be a excelent choice for this. I have used the load area twice and have found the flat folding seats easy to lower and raise. The MPG is holding at arround 19 MPG of intown driving. I have curently 1500 miles on it and am pleased with my choice.
Well Satisfied
I purchased my Hyundai Tuscon about 6 months ago. I have been nothing but pleased. The vehicle is fun to drive, roomy and certainly is a good value for the money. No other SUV can match this one for features for the money and sporty appearance. The warranty is a big plus though haven't had even the first problem.
buy it
great suv fun to drive, decent mpg, easy to maintain.very roomy and great design on the folddown seats.buy one,you won't find a better value in a suv.
great suv
Fun to drive. The unique auto-shifter is a plus when driving around town and the way it automatically downshifts when you slow down is great.
I'd buy another one
My wife and I are very pleased with our Tucson. She has not had a problem with it. It's fun to drive and surprisingly enough, we don't see them on the road all the time. We would gladly recommend them.
Great little SUV
This is a fun to drive, easy to handle suv. Worksmanship is great, it's peppy and so much fun to drive. It's a great little SUV for the money!
Mikes review
I haven't had the vehicle very long However I am very impressed with the quality and performance. Hyundai quality is now one of the best in there market.
not bad
ok... not bad. nice little suv for the price.
Great Value
I purchased the AWD Tuscon in January 06, just in time for a huge New England blizzard. The Tuscon performed magnificantly, and has continued to be a great vehicle. It's a lot of vehicle for the sticker price, loaded with all the options except leather seats. I love how it looks, it handles like a car and has enough quickness to get out of any situations. It's a solid buy, great value and you can't beat the 10 year 100,000 mile warranty.
Hyundai Tuscon
I have had nothing but fun driving my car. It has gone from Alabama to Texas and back. And has also gone to South Carolina and back. It gave me no trouble. The only adjustment I've had to make is gas. I went from a 10 gallon tank to a 17 gallon. I want to drive it all the time. Even when someone says they'll pick me up, I tell them that I'll meet them there. Thanks
Best Bargin SUV Available
I am a Grandfather, and have purchased many vehicles, I checked out the Honda, Toyota, and Lexus small SUV's prior to looking at the Tucson. The Tucson was equal or better than the others I had test driven and......the price....I saved a bundle. Fantastic SUV....I would highly recommend with no reservations.
Tucson V-6 MPG must be improved
The Tucson V-6 has a lot going for it. Easy to drive, responds well, comfortable ride and leads in having the best warranty. For a small SUV it is one of the few that has a design that works for taller people. Too bad they didn't do their homework on providing better mpg. If great mpg is an objective, the Tucson is not for you. You will be disappointed. Consumers look to smaller SUV's to provide great gas mileage. Hyundai failed to respond to consumers. If Hyundai could provide an engine that gets great mpg this SUV would go to the top of it's class.
tucson 06
I did extensive research before I bought the tucson and I felt that the tucson gave me all the options I wanted and still was at the price I wanted, $1000's less than honda and toyota, I am real happy with my decsion to buy a tucson. Just completed a round trip of 850 miles and no problems a of any kind, averaged 22 miles per gallon, even though sticker says 26 for the highway but the mpg will slowly improve as the car ages. I would definately recommend this vehicle for anyone that is searching for a small but spacious suv for the family.
love my truck
my tucan has been great it handles well very comfortable an roomy an myself an husband are large people lol easy with my grandson to put him in an out just a great ride
Tucson - Everything I wanted
I purchased my Tucson just before Christmas last year and have just over 10,000 mi now. I'm VERY happy with the vehicle. When I was searching I wanted all the luxury features but had a very strict budget. This vehicle allowed me to get all I wanted and keep within my budget. I think everyone looking for a vehicle in this class should definitely give the Tucson a look. And I'm impressed with the gas mileage for being a V6. My Mother owns the Honda CRV and I get the same gas mileage as she does and I have the V6!
Bought it for the Kids! It pays off!
I was weary about leaving the Honda family (5 cars bought) and trading in my Firebird, but now that I'm a daddy twice over (not at once that God!), it's time to think 'kids'. I bought the Tucson (a 4-cylinder, FWD) thinking how can this compare to Honda's reputation...We'll, with all the little great things about the interior for me and the kids, the gas mileage and air bags (one big interior balloon!), it was a no-brainer. The CRV is nice, but boxey and over- priced. Toyota, never liked. Anything American-made, lousy junk (sorry USA). Granted it's not my Firebird, but the features, warranty, price, build, and SAFETY for my kids is worth every penny. It also looks nicer than the Sante Fe!
Great SUV
Bought mine a year ago. Have had no problems. It's a good-looking SUV, with ample space for hauling with backseat folded down. Very practical car, great value.
Great Car at a Great Price!
I test drove many cars --- the Honda CRV, the new RAV4, the Ford Escape, the Nissan Murano, but this car had everything for a much better price. Great exterior design and interior features. Love the Hyundai 'attitude'... they want you to be happy.... nationwide roadside assistance and the dealer/salesfolks are very pleasant and positive about their vehicle and making you happy.
I Love My Tuscon
I Love My Tuscon, it is the best SUV. I don't even think of it as an SUV, it just rides so nice and smooth, handles like a car, and is so comfortable. I didn't think I would like it, but was I wrong! I LOVE THIS CAR/SUV. It's fun to drive, its performance is just great. Its a well built vehicle. With being a Hyundai, it is a reliable car/suv. It does very well on gas. We drove to Florida and back and it averaged 28mpg. My husband was very impressed, but he still likes his Sonata. This will be my last car for a while and I am very happy that I bought a Tuscon. I Love My Tuscon!!!!
Love This Vehicle
I was only looking for a vehicle but bought one instead. I like the looks, inside and out, handles great and very fun to drive. I would recommend this SUV to anyone.
Best Ever
I drove Toyota for 15 years, 3 vehicles, but after trying to Tucson, I fell in love! I love that the seats fold FLAT...Big selling point for cargo hauling. This vehicle is by far the best for the price, and I strongly recommend anyone looking to check it out!
Great value and performance
This vehicle feels big inside but is not much bigger than the Elantra, and parks anywhere. Tons of nice features and safety packages (ABS, 6 airbags, TCS, ESC). Innovative fold-down hard back seats for cargo carrying. Interior looks better than expected for the money. No problems with acceleration or braking. Handling better than lots of non-SUVs I have owned. Warranty can't be beat.
One Owner's View
Throughly satisfied with this car. Handling, braking, ride, comfort, power, 4WD, stability control, quiet ride, warranty service -- all as good or better than any other car I have owned. So-called "estimated mileage" (26-34 mpg highway) and actual mileage (16-22 mpg highway) are as bad as any using the outmoded EPA ratings.
surprised
i down sized from a full size pick up truck for fuel economy. It has a smooth ride ,good visibility a bit under powered but i really like the shift tronic transmision. if you need to pass down shift and punch it,or for steep hills it can slow you down without using the brakes. so far its fun to drive and feels good.i get a lot looks and questions about it ,i have the black on black with rear tint
Great Little Rig, but Thirsty!
I have to admit, the Tuscon was my 2nd choice. I wanted a Rav4 Limited, but the Toyota dealer lost the sale. The Tuscon has actually turned out to be better in all aspects, except fuel efficiency. It's comfortable, sure-footed in all terrain/weather, and a pleasure to drive. The only things I could wish were better are the gas mileage - I'm averaging 17.5 in town and about 21 on highway trips - and the durability of the 'plastic' interior surfaces. I traded a 10 year old Mazda 626 for this and even after all that time, you really couldn't see a lot of surface mars on the interior/trunk plastics. It seems the Tuscon's scratch easily. That said, I really do like my little black beauty!
I am satified with my investment
I have driven my Tucson for about 1300 mils now and I am fully satisfied. Fuel economy is a bit low in city but its a V6 so I am ok. Every thing is standard so what I feel that its value for money. No need to pay around two or three grands extra for Honda or Toyota.
I Love It
I love driving my tucson. We have four car seats in the car! We have no problem fitting in. Also it is pretty fast for the price. I chose this car over the Ford Escape because of price and power.
blacksilver
Overrall i like the 2006 hyundai. my biggest cry is that the leather seat covering with just normal wear already has noticeable blemishes, the gas mileage remains consistant at aorund 21 miles/gal. i can never seem to reach that estimated 26miles/gal. promised to me,i can feel the slight roll motion navigating a curve under what wolud not normally be an isuue in most suv's. however,i like the comfort level and the relativley smooth ride of the vechicle...but if i had it do do again, i would probably choose something different.
Nightmare
I have brought four different made of Hyundai vehicles since 2000. The last one is a Tucson which gives me the most headache. After it has been used for 16 months, the battery suddenly drained out and couldn't recharge after stayed in garage for 5 days. No interior nor exterior light were turned on. It happened in Jan, May and Sept 2009. I informed Hyundai USA customer service in May and they promised to "do something" if it happened again. Then, when the issue resurfaced in Sept, I called them. They either gave me the run around or simply not return my calls even I have case number. I wrote them email and no reply. What a service! It will be my last Hyundai vehicle(period).
Love my little buggy
I love my little buggy! It is fun to scoot around town. It has plenty of muscle, and is excellent in traffic as well as parking in tight spaces. The sound system is great and the evironmental controls are great in the Texas Heat. It is a quiet smoothe ride. In fact, I note no difference in the ride between this and my dad's Mercedes SUV. I just wish it wasn't so greedy with fuel. Otherwise it is cute, fun and reliable
Great small SUV
It is really nice, and comes with a lot of options standard. Great for the price and very well built. The V6 has good pickup and it drives very well. I had a 2 door sports car before this one. It was a big change but I am really pleased with the Tucson. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a SUV that has a lot of options yet affordable. Gets good MPG too.
Just needs minor changes
Bought this new in 2006 for our daughter because of the size and safety. After a year, she wanted a smaller vehicle and so we bought her a new Tiburon and my wife inherited the Tucson. She absolutely loves it with the exception of some minor design flaws (see below).
great small suv
Very well built small SUV. Very roomy interior and versatile. Very long list of standard features. Best warranty in its class. Could use some more power, but saving plenty at the pump makes up for it. Very quiet ride and independent suspension makes for a comfortable ride.
Hyundai Tuscon
Very pleased with the car with the exception of gas mileage not as good as we expected. The six cylinder has plenty of power and acceleration for an SUV of this size. Very impressed with interior roominess.
Hartmac's Tucson
Fun, sporty and reliable! I love my SUV!
My new Hyundai
I have just purchased a Hyundai Tucson and I am very pleased. It drives like a sedan (that was important to me), feels stable on the highway and has a high view of the road. I traded in a full sized van, so I was looking for something smaller without giving up a lot of the pluses found in a van. I was able to afford a car with much nicer "extras" than I had expected in my price range, plus, the extended warranty was an important factor. The exterior styling mimics that of much pricier cars and it has folding seats to help carry any outsized items. So far, it's exceeded my expectations!
Hyundai just earned a loyal customer
I never thought I'd own a Hyundai but after driving it, pricing it out at $7,000 LESS than a similarly-equipped 06 Toyota RAV-4 Limited V6, and examining the unbelievable warranty (100,000 miles on the powertrain), I was sold. I got a great deal, too, under invoice. Unless you're worried about overpaying for a nameplate to impress your neighbors, this is a no- brainer if you want a small SUV.
Great Design
A very fun suv to drive. Short lenght took some getting use to. 6 inches longer would be perfect, but would it still be a compact or midsize. Really haven't took a road trip to check mpg but city has been very disapointing at only 16/17 mpg?? Shifting sometimes feels lazy and you get the feeling it's guzzing gas? Right arm rest could be designed 4/6 inches longer even in the upper position. Overall this is an excellent value for the money. Jury is still out if I should have paid the extra cash and bought the Honda or the Rava. My auto mechanic for past 25 yrs. suggested the Santa Fe or Tucson since he never gets them in his shop.
gls 2.7 6cyl
Bought my tucson in june of 2006 with careful consideration, I love this car, it has great handling, manuervabilty and easy to drive. I like the rear seats fold flat for hauling things, and the rear window opens as well as the door. the tucson has five star crash test for the front as well as the sides. although the tucson can use little bit more horse power, I am quite happy with the performance after 10 thousand miles. I am getting 19.5-20.5 mpg in town and 23-24 mpg on highway going 80 mph+. I also like the mirrors that fold both ways to prevent someone walking by and breaking them.
Denver Winter Vehicle
After lengthy research I finally settled on a beautiful navy blue 06 Hyundai Tucson V6 4WD with sunroof package. I love it! I live at the top of a pretty steep hill which has always been something of a winter challenge for me in the past. Not any more. The Tucson is heavy enough and peppy enough to get me home every time without fail. It handles wonderfully on ski trips and is super easy to get our gear in and out with the quick release rear seats that fold to a flat deck. It's been on a road trip to AZ and zoomed right on through the mountain passes. Its still pretty new so I'm hoing that it becomes less thirsty with a little more break in time.
The Grey Goose!!
My 2006 Hyundai Tucson. I brought the vehicle used with over 130k on it. ! I needed a vehicle I figured if it runs a year it'll be great lol. . 6 years later Its almost to 300k! It's never given me any problems. Great Vehicle! Very reliable.

Great car for the money
Bought this vehicle a few weeks ago, drove to ca from az. was impressed with the interior features and general comfort. a bit weak on the gas mileage thus far. Smooth riding/good handling vehicle. fun to drive. nice size. could use a bit more cargo space.
fuel economy
on recent trip to winfield kansas 1500mi with cruise control set at 65mph with very good driving conditions average gal.per. mi. was only 19.4 mpg. can you tell me why? fuel economy info says 19 city 24 highwayimp
Fun to drive vehicle
After driving a Ford truck, I can tell you this vehicle is much more fun to drive. It handles great and will do everything we will need it to do. Parking in tight spots is no longer a pain. Engine power is sufficient and ride is what you would expect from an SUV, although is better than most others I have been in. I highly recommend this vehicle.
Much More Than You Think
To be quite honest, I didn't want it. My eyes were on the Santa Fe. However, after a test drive, I was hooked. The ride was smooth and the handling suprised me. Not to mention though the interior is quite basic, the seats are extremely comfortable and the inside is put together quite well (durable). If finances are your main concern, the Tucson by far is the best bang for your buck! No other SUV at similar pricing is loaded with all the safety features the Tucson has and is backed by the #1 warranty in America! If I haven't sold you on it, take a drive for yourself.
bad ride
Bought my tucson in oct 2006. I checked reports. Wasn t happy after I bought it. I get 19 mpg. in town 17hgy. Seems like thats backward. After only 2000 miles I have had 11 tires replaced. Second day they turned the front roters they were warped. Service said tires were bad . The tucson shakes, wobbles at low speeds. Stering wheel vibrates bad. Service says nature of this to happen. I think it has to big of tires on it. Has 235/16/60. tire to wide.Service tech. said only way to change that is to drive it a while and trade it off. I think i will take his advice. I depended on J D Powers ranking when I bought my tucson. I was let down I am 50 years old. I buy new every 2-3 years . NOT HYUNAI.
Love My Hyundai Tuscon
This is my 4th Hyundai purchase, first SUV and I love it!!! The Hyundai cars are a terrific value for the price. They run well, look good, have good storage space especially once the back seats fold down. My Tuscon is my baby, it is so roomy, comfortable and looks good. I can't wait to get in the car (I know its a SUV) and I'm very careful where I park when I go out. I can't say enough about my Tuscon, I will tell anyone who asks where I purchased it, who was my salesperson and that the service department is great also. My 85 year old mother loves the Tuscon and she has no problem either getting in or out. She can't wait until we drive to Disney in February, 2006 and neither can I.
Not what I thought
Not vary reliable, The computor has had to be reprogramed twice. Now the front end is being repaired because car shakes. MPH is bad. Good side is that the warrenty and the finish are great. Would I buy it again? Not sure, but price and warrenty are good. Engine noise very loud.
