Buy this car!
I was looking for a 4-door sedan. Tried the Sentra, Civic = didn't like. This board recommended the Elantra. After staunching the typical knee-jerk anti-Hyundai reaction I did a test drive. Then I bought it. So far, I cannot look back! I'm very satisfied.
Hyundai GT review
So far we've put 1300 miles on this car in two months not one problem so far. It feels very solid. The car has decent acceleration and good power on the highway. Only problems is it needs more lumbar support and better gas mileage right now we're only getting 22 mpg average. But the main reason we bought this car was the overwhelming number of items available at the price, we got leather seats, a trip computer, cd player (6 speakers), alloy wheels, fog lights, rear spoiler and the best warranty all standard! Name one other car that gives you this kind of bargain!
A small car for a big Man
I'm 6 4 220 lbs. and this car is a very roomy car for my long legs I drive 100 miles a day and for the first time I have not had back pain since I bought my elantra. The car is great to drive and has alot of pick up. I lookes at many cars before I bought thia one. any I talked to who has this car loves it to. T-bone
Car Has Poor Review
My transmission fell out of the vehicle 10,000 miles after i bought it. I have had nothing but problems with it. DO NOT BUY ONE...THEY SUCK.
Fun to Drive
Overall, I really enjoy this car. It is fun to drive, for having a small engine, it really has a lot of get up and go power, especially for the freeway. It is really comfortable, and fits everything that I would need to take with me either camping or to the beach, the trunk is very large.
the best for the price
This car is realy good, specially for the price. the manual transmision do the job. and his 135hp are realy acceptable.
Just Bought New Hyundai
Hello, I just purchased a new Hyundai GLS 4 dr w/ automatic transmission today for my daughter. It is a quiet car for the money. As a first car, it is perfect for the college kid. It has A/C Power windows, doorlocks, tilt wheel, cruise control AM/FM/CD and Sunroof. It is really loaded for such a small car. Time will tell as to how reliable it is. We expect good gas mileage and cheap operation.
I love my hyundai!
I wasn't a big fan of hyundai when I went into the dealership last december. I test drove an accent and it was a little under powered, but when I sat in the elantra it was like coming home. the interior was soothing, the exterioir lines sporty yet sophisticated. when I took it out for a test drive, the powerful 2 liter motor put me into the seat just the way i liked it. I came in a doubter and left a customer for life, my next purchase is an new Tiburon.
AWESOME CAR!!!
This vehicle definately 100% has the most bang for the buck! Ok here are the very few negative things. Some may not consider this a bad thing, but the dash gagues are indigo and for easy manufacturing reasons almost every other lighted button or dial in this car is that standard pale green from the radio to the air conditioner controls to the door locks/windows. The paint on this car is very very easily scratched or chipped so be careful. This car is really an amazing car for the price. Do your research and take this one for a spin, I think youll like!
Great Car for the Money
Just passed 3000 miles with no problems.
Been solid as a rock
The dealer had quite a number of 03's left as the '04's were coming out, so I felt the "deal" was good. Looking at all the cars in this price range, Edmunds comment was it was a "good commuter car". I drive a hundred miles round trip to work and back, they were 100% correct. It still averages almost 30mpg. I've been very pleased. Never been back to the dealership. Change the oil ever 3-4 thousand miles. Original tires tires lasted about 45k. With 68,000 miles on it (I drive a Mustang convert most of the summer), I'm looking for a new one.
You get what you pay for
Not a bad car, but could use some work. The older it gets, the more cheap it feels. There are a lot of squeaks and rattles on the interior. Road noise is overwhelming, and makes it difficult to have a conversation. Simple parts are expensive and hard to find. Fuel economy is not as good as it should be for such slow acceleration. The paint is of poor quality, and easily scratches and chips. Leather interior feels and looks like vynil. Sun visor mirror covers broke without being touched, and driver's side visor will not adjust without making a horrible sound and feeling like it is going to break.
Sweet car for price
I don't have one negative thing to say about this car. I haven't had one issue whatsoever! Very pleased with this car, and will be sticking to the brand in the future.
Five years and no problems
Have had my 2003 Hyundai Elantra for five years and have had no problems. Bought car new with four miles on it. Outside of new brakes, tires and oil changes, have had ZERO problems with my car. Has never been in shop for problems. Am selling now at 70k miles, and will buy another as this car has been perfect. Honestly cannot say any issues/problems have had with car. Have never had to test warranty. Very happy.
Mistake
I bought this car like 5 months ago and I have had nothing but problems. The first month I had the car the Check engine light came on and the car wasnt shifting properly. They had to replace a switch in the transmission. 2 months later the car wouldnt start and I had to bring it in again. The car is overpriced and yea the options are great but the wind noise is terrible. It sucks to drive in the rain so far cause it seems the car tends to slide on the we roadway. Its not that fun to drive and even thought it says GT it doesnt drive like any other GT I have ever had. The only thing that makes this car appealing is the warranty, and you will need it.
Too Sweet For You
Just a crazy fun and cool car that can be upgraded with aftermarket parts like I am doing with my 2003 Hyundai Elantra. Yea baby.
Don't waste your money!!
I have my Elantra for less than 1 year now and I can say it runs great and has a low gas consumption. I had no major mechanic problem but some eletric ones. The worst part of owning a Hyundai is the depreciation. I paid $15,000.00 for my car and a little over 1 year the same HYUNDAI pays me just $8,000.00... It's right... I have lost $7,000.00 within 1,5 year. I am now paying my loan (still have 11k) and have to pay at least 4k to get rid of this car. Trying a trade-in, some dealers pay even less than.
Functional Car. Great for teens
Bought the vehicle in late 2005 with only 19K miles on it. Was a good purchase. Drove it for a year and the sold it to my teenage son for $2000. Great inexpensive transportation. Unfortunately car was totaled in a hail storm.
