I can't say more good things about it. Most important the minor problems I did have have been resolved by the support of the Service Department. I did not get this from several Dodge Dealerships with my Lemon Durango. Their concern has been outstanding. So far I can say I'm truly happy with my Hyundai and have sent others to them and they are happy with their purchase too.

Wow! That is all I can think of when driving the new Hyundai. A comfortable ride for long distance driving that is easy on the gas but carries the power to accelerate to pass as well as handle any Interstate speed while being fuel efficient even with California smog equipment. The adjustable driver seat allows you to be comfortable any time. Outside, the car is just the right size for parking in tough places.Inside, the 2003 model is roomier than our older 2000 trade-in. Trading in the old Hyundai for a new one was not so easy. There wasn't anything wrong with it except we had put a lot of miles on it. In fact, we liked Hyundai so much we bought two of them this time!

Bought new in '03 and now has 117,000 on it and still runs and drives great. Have had zero problems other than the typical eating of tires and the head and tail light headaches. Has been the most reliable car I have ever owned. Also, hit a deer at 55 mph and the front end held up incredibly well, just replaced the grill and hood after about a month and looks and runs great still.

Good little car

$12,008 total price. $1,000 under invoice. I am very pleased with the quality and the features compared to the price. Plus a great warranty. Peppy little car. I've put 17,000 miles on it in 7 months over rock roads. I had two problems, a defective throttle sensor and 7 flat tires. The dealer repaired the sensor. No charge. The flat tires came from nails, probably due to the miles on rock roads. The gas milage could be better. I've averaged 24 mpg but it has been decreasing steadily. On recent tanks I've only been getting about 22mpg. For this size car I expected better. Overall I'm impressed. Would definitely consider other Hyundai models.

Great car. New generation Hyundais have nothing to envy the other manufacturers considering the low price tag it and the lots of standard features you get. Good grip, handling, powerfull engine. Gearbox is a bit long. Air conditioner punishes performance. Not very confortable front seats. Ugly exhaust pipe, average fuel economy. Anyway, people who say it´s better buying an old japanese instead of a new korean are people who haven´t driven the new Elantra. Try before you buy I and think you´ll end up liking this car as much as your Neon or Civic, for a lot money less. This car is definetly a serious competitor for the japanese and europeans when choosing a new car.

Im coming into this 02 Elantra GLS from a 97 Accord LX. I don't know why people think that Honda is one of the best. Iv had NOTHING but problems with mine... Iv had absolutely NO trouble with the Elantra. But "eeww a Hyundai" I think to myself.. I still think Excel.( Had 3 of them..) HYUNDAI HAS CHANGED. The Elantra PROVES it. Its built very tightly, and very quite ride. Excellent attention to detail. Better than Civic, Sentra's in many ways. It's roomy. Styling is original. It's not hard to look at. But its not "cute." Overall I like this car a lot.. Root for the underdog!... Go Hyundai.. =)

After a month of car shopping and researching, I am so glad of the decision to buy the Elantra GT. Being a Hyundai, I was somewhat skeptic to buy it but the warrenty helped change that. The price is the greatest about the car. It just couldn't compare to civic and corolla with the same options.

After losing my 2000 Elantra to a wreck in which it was totaled; safety features worked like a charm. We walked away with just bruses. We looked at other cars in this class and none could be had with these features even for alot more money. I had 96000 miles on the 2k Elantra and had no problems at all and it still ran like new until stupid me ran off the road and front- ended a telephone pole, witch I snapped off.

This is the best car that I have ever had. It fits my needs perfectly. It is a perfect size, and rides beautifully! It was also priced unbelieveably great. The gauges are easy to read and everything inside is easy to find. There were even a few extra perks that I didn't expect the car to have. For instance, I now have a special holder for my sunglasses. This comes in handy because I always leave them in the car, and this way they don't get scratched. Sometimes it is the little things that get the consumer excited about a car. I must say again how pleased I am with my new Hyundai Elantra!

There usually is a catch to unbelievably low sticker prices. Not this time. Although I expected the standard features and read the good reviews here before buying, I was pleasantly suprised by the steering and shock absorbsion. Even with the auto transmission, the car climbs very steep hills easily. More suprising was that it handles rough roads more comfortably than my American make (2001) minivan. Handles the curves very well and has good acceleration.

I have an '01 that I bought new at the beginning of '02 and I love the little thing. It's not a car that is out to thrill, but if you are in the market for a well engineered economy car I would take a hard look at this one. I am a student and put 40k a year on a car and the Elantra has been a $12,000 god send. I am also 6'3" tall and have a hard time fitting into most economy cars. The interior space in it is mind blowing, I regularly put 4 adults in it with little difficulty. It handles well for what it is. At freeway speeds it feels like a midsize car. I have had no mechanical difficulties at 71000 miles.

I bought this car in 06 with only 15k miles on it so it was like brand new. I bought it because of the reputation of reliability, quality and gas mileage. But right at 50,000 miles in the middle of a road trip, my radiator suddenly cracked without warning and all of my coolant leaked out on the spot and my engine overheated. It all happened within 60 seconds at a stop light. I ended up stranded for 4 full days. Finally the dealership discovered the cracked radiator. No one can explain why that happened. I have kept impeccable care of the car. In fact I checked my coolant levels etc before I left on the trip. All was fine. It cost me over $1000 and now I am nervous to go on a trip!

I have had my car for about 4 months. This is a very practical car. Considering that a car depreciates about $3000 per year, you can throw this car away after 5 years and still have done well. Like the old Chevette, but much more appointed. If your looking for more than basic transportation for a great price, this is it.

Buying my 2002 Elantra was the best dicision I could have made! For a small car, you cannot compare the ride comfort, standard features, warranty and price to any other foreign small car. When I searched for my "perfect" new automobile I never would have thought Hyundai...The warranty attracted me, I drove one and was so impressed I wrote my check the moment my test drive was over! I have driven over 26,000 miles in the 9 months I have owned the Elantra and not once has it skipped a beat~! AND you cannot beat the warranty!

I bought this car new in 2003. It is the base model GLS. It is not fancy, it's only a 4.0 cylinder, but it is very reliable. It now has 105,000 miles and has not needed any major repairs and still running great! I'm looking to get a new vehicle and after the experience with this one, I'm thinking it will be another Hyundai. My husband bought a 2001 Ford Taurus in 2003, when I got my Hyundai and has had all types of problems with it.

I am very impressed! I was hit in the rear bumper by an Acura at about 40-45 mph and rocketed into the stationary truck in front. The Acura's front end was caved-in with severe damage. Amazingly, the Elantra was fully in tact and the trunk's door was not even dented, nor tail lights damaged, nor windows broken! The passenger cabin was untouched!! I could not believe it. The bumper and frame took most of the impact, and most damage was below the bumper inside the trunk and frame. Although the car was totalled due to rear frame damage, I drove it for 58 miles at 65 mph back to home and then the autobody shop with no problem. This car is strong!!!

This is a fun-to-drive car with many standard features. It has a surprising amount of room inside. I am 6'3", 280 lbs and I fit in the driver's seat just fine with ample leg room (after I adjusted the seat angle a little). I like the fact that almost everything comes standard. The only extra I got was a spoiler for an additional $500. Everything else I wanted came standard. The only hangup I've had is its low-end torque. It seems like I really have to wind the engine up to get it to accelerate well. It doesn't really take off until I hit 3500 RPMs.

Looking for a fun commuter I was all set to buy a Civic until I found that it didn't offer leather or traction control or a $14K price tag. Fuel pump went 1st mo which was replaced by dealer same day. Oil change every 3K, replaced brakes once at 60K and now have 120K on orig clutch. 30-32mpg combined city/hwy. Upgrades include Tiburon rear anti sway bar and 17" wheels which make it very fun in the twisties. Don't try this at home but is very stable at 105mph. Recently have also replaced headlights every 6mo and found my first rust spot behind rear wheel. Excellent in the snow with winter tires. I, too, barely get NYC AM stations from 60 mi away. Very happy with this ride.
