Used 2009 Hyundai Elantra Touring Hatchback Consumer Reviews
update - touring hatchback
Well here's an update to what I already have. Just took a little trip to cape cod. The car went 188.5 miles on 4.8 gals. of gas. That's 39.2 miles per gal highway at 70 mph. I think it would have been higher if we did not get stuck in a 5 mile crawl to the Bourne bridge. In city seems to be about 31.5 miles per gal. The ride was very comfortable. No back pains like in other cars. The car handled great on uneven surface for repaving. I am loving this car more now than when I first got it. Good going Hyundai!
Great all-around car
Wife and I spent a few months looking for a good mid-sized hatchback/wagon, this one was it. The matrix, and Mazada3 didn't even compare. I'm picky about my cars and usually buy Japanese. This has been a great family car over the last 6 months. I'm 6'2 and I fit comfortably in this car. This car is not the Elantra, it is the German designed i30, handles like a Euro car and is built much better. This not only is the most well rounded mid-sized wagon it's also the best priced. Love car so far!

Everything I was looking for and more!!
I wanted a car that I could haul my stuff with ease and room to spare. I test drove everything in this class, and some larger, and found nothing that compared to the Touring, especially in its generous features. My touring has solid handling, turns on a dime and delivers everything it promised. I love the sporty exterior look and the roomy interior. I am amazed that Hyundai could offer so many features for the price...sunroof, blue tooth, xm capability (3 months free), 17" nitro-fill tires and much more, . The others I tested couldn't come close. This sweet car is a keeper!
Fun to drive, great value!
Bought the 5 Speed Manual version with the sport package (17" Alloy Wheels, Sunroof, XM-Radio, etc.)in July 2009 and I looooove that car!!! Had to wait a week (manual is hard to get - dealer got it from a different state 240 miles away). I am from Germany so I love the european style (interior & exterior). Did a lot of research and the Touring was by far the best deal out there. Tons of standard features, overall quality is impressive, I get 26 mp (about 30% Highway driving). The handling is responsive, no complains here. The ride is a little stiff. Engine has enough power for the size of the car. Very roomy, I love the Hatchback versatility!!! Unbeatable Warranty!
Update on my 5/something/2010 review
Now at 58K and STILL loving this fun little car! It's so much fun to drive with the 5-speed manual and it cruises right along. Plenty of get-up and go! I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!
