2020 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E 4dr Crew Cab AWD SB (3.5L 6cyl 9A)

The 2020 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E was my choice after many weeks of shopping around and test driving some of the "other" trucks. I occasionally tow a smaller boat, make some local trips to home improvement stores. I live in a seasonal climate so I do encounter a fair share of snow. The Ridgeline easily handles everything I've encountered so far. I love it! I have the comfort and luxury of a high end SUV along with a "bonus" pickup bed. Not to mention all the unique features this truck has, Two way locking tailgate, trunk in bed, convenience charging/power ports. Safety features all around! And much more... I feel that the Ridgeline is underrated as a pickup truck and I was hesitant to even shop for one, But I quickly changed my mind and opinion after driving it myself. If you are looking for a pickup truck, I suggest you at least test drive a Ridgeline before making that final decision. I know that this review reads like a Honda commercial, but I am being completely honest! Good luck. -Frank

Great car. 6 stars. Infotainment is disapointing

Great car, everything is perfect in a high level. But the infotainment system is a great mess. I is almost unbelievable how the guys from this sector lunch every day with the guys from the rest of the factory. Come on. Every review is saying that your infotainment system is a [non-permissible content removed]. Do something. Begin everything from zero again

If you are seriously looking at a Ridgeline you already know what type truck you want to buy. It's a "city" truck with moderate off road usage and towing. Highway driving is a dream for a truck. Smooth, quiet, responsive, good acceleration, safe with all of the features, AWD, good sound system. Rides like a good crossover. Off-road goes well because of the unibody design and independent rear suspension. Payload capacity is best in class. Disagree with Edmunds review on the touch screen - have no problems with it at all or the controls on and around the steering. Also disagree on the gearing down as mine has the manual shifting with paddles if desired. Honda also fixed their dim headlight problems in past models. These are excellent. Future model years are supposed to have a bigger screen. I added an Extang hard tri-fold bed cover, AVS vent shades, Weathertech on the floors and splash guards, Honda storage under the rear seating, separation panels in the locking watertight trunk under the bed. That's a great feature that can also be used as a large ice chest for picnics/tailgates. Mine has the inverter and truck bed lighting as well. On a vacation with interstate driving we got 26 miles to the gallon and only used the economy mode for half the trip. Have driven for a few months now and literally have nothing negative to say, only positives. It fits our purposes for a mid-size truck exactly. UPDATE 7/21: Still perfectly describes our opinion of the truck. Could not be more pleased. Added a bug deflector and panels to the console storage. Have been pleasantly surprised by the factory Firestone tires as well. Really good traction and ride. Hope Honda always makes Ridgelines in the spirit of this model. Update 1/22: Totally satisfied. Still averaging 26+ mpg on the highway with AWD. Rides great. Operated well with a full loaded bed of decking boards/materials. Appearance has remained great. Don't let people tell you it's not a "real" truck. It is. The manufacture of it is innovative using frame rails and the unibody. You will love the waterproof trunk in the bed. Interior remains like new.

Perfect SUV/truck hybrid

The Ridgeline suits my needs perfectly. I can transport grandkids and cargo with equal ease. It’s a cinch to buckle a kid’s car seat & I can carry a sheet of 4’ x 8’ plywood in the bed (with the tailgate down). I was hauling stone and landscaping supplies the day after I bought it and grandkids the next day. It is quiet and has a smooth ride. It handles so well I could forget it is a truck and not a passenger car. The instrument panel is well designed— easy to read at a glance. The headrest is as annoying as all of them are these days, but the seats are otherwise quite comfortable. I am finding the lockable trunk built into the bed to be quite handy. The gas mileage is as good as my last SUV.

In my opinion the 2020 Honda Ridgeline is the best mid size truck on the market. I checked all of the other mid size trucks and found the Ridgeline to be more competent in all categories. It has the most and best storage, rides like a Suv, and the bed speaker system is awesome. If you are looking for a everyday truck Ridgeline is the way to go. If you are looking for a work truck then you should consider full size trucks and not the Ridgeline. All the other midsize trucks that I drove are not up to the standards of the Ridgeline.
