2025 Honda Odyssey Consumer Reviews

No better than my 2018 odyssey. Different problems
2024 touring. 9 months 16,000 miles Sliding door on drivers side rattles when van is hot. When I finally got dealer to work on it they made it worse. Intermittently the Engine doesn't idle smoothly or when accelerating normally (but runs smooth if you run it hard). Sometimes you have to press hard on the brake to get it to start. Cruise control is programmed so that it does not TRY to keep the speed on set point after coasting down a hill, but instead, it will let it get 2 mph below the set point before it back shifts & gives gas to accelerate back up to speed. It does this instead of gradually giving gas to try and maintain the speed it was set at as soon as it goes below the set speed. Lane Keeping Assist ( LKAS ) is a joke and can be dangerous. The biggest complaint is when entering a left curve, it will help you enter the curve early right across the line and then warn that you are out of your lane. It also does this on right turns but not as much. Driving straight down a road if you get on either line, it may not help pull you back but it will warn you that you are getting out of your lane on the dash. Collision avoidance system puts on the brakes for no reason driving down the interstate. I have had the road departure mitigation system activate while I was in the center of the lane on a two lane road with a trailer truck behind you! (Must be kept off for safety reasons.) Adaptive cruise control works great but may apply brakes during passing another car on a two lane road. Also, if someone is turning off the road the adaptive cruise control continues to apply brakes long after the car has made the turn and is no longer in your lane. I have 16,000 miles on mine now and now torque converter is developing a problem. Sometimes the lockup clutch doesn't lock in if you have been costing for several seconds, the RPM is low and you apply gas to accelerate. I have seen it go up to 3500 RPM in 7 gear driving 45 MPH. I have to let off the gas for a second then go again to get it to lock in properly when it does this. The good stuff is it has a better computer than my 2018 and it responds quicker. (Except for the door rattle) it is quieter in the van than my 2018 EX-L. It has good power when you put your foot down and get the RPMs up. So far the brakes are excellent and the idle stop works properly even though it hesitates on restart sometimes. (They don't give you the choice to turn idle stop off until you turn it back on. It is always active when you start the car until you press the button again). UPDATE: Road Departure preventive is dangerous & must be kept off. I will apply the brakes for no reason (even with a big truck right behind you). Lane keeping assist is re-tarded. It starts helping you turn into a corner on the interstate too much and then complains when you go over the line that you are getting out of your lane. The automatic cruise control will put on the brakes randomly when you are passing another vehicle on the interstate. At 20,000 miles the torque converter has started malfunctioning a little but not enough to throw a code. The Drivers side sliding door makes creaking noises sometimes. The second time I took it in for this, they said that they adjusted it and now it is much worse. When accelerating, there is a slight variation in thrust. Can't tell if it is the engine or transmission. I have taken the van in three times for all these problems with no results. The last item I don't like is the cruise control is programmed to not try to keep the speed right on the set speed. It will let it go 2 miles per hour under the set speed then back shift and accelerate back up to the set speed over and over anytime the terrain isn't just flat. At 27,000 miles, I am already starting to think about trading and wondering what I am going to try in stead of a Honda.

Comfortable Minivan (w/ a Couple of Dealbreakers)
After being disappointed by the super-hyped Toyota Sienna, my family thought it might be fair to give the Odyssey a try. It was far more comfortable in ride quality than the Sienna, and the seats were also amazing.. Its lackluster MPGs belong in decades past, and its unexplainable NON-ceiling air vents in the rear will leave still-rear-facing children far more uncomfortable than necessary. If Honda could keep the comfort while increasing the mpgs and moving the rear vents back up to the ceiling, I think this would be the best vehicle on the market.

Fabulous
I have had our fabulous 2024 Odyssey Touring for 4 months. 10k miles. Best vehicle I have ever owned and driven. So quite and comfortable. Kids love rear entertainment system for road trips. Tremendous power when needed from v6 engine. Getting 30.8 mpg on the highway. Nav is terrific. Radio has great sound. So much storage and seating for 8 when you need it. Looks great also. Got the platinum white with beige interior. Could not be happier..cheers!!! Get one as you will love.it.

Deserves a 4.5 - Love this minivan
We bought our Elite in May and they have worked out technical kinks out 2018 had. More info r a comfortable ride, adept braking and a good amount of power when you have it loaded up. I don’t live that they don’t put better tires on it (Michelin) but the Turanzas are adequate. Look no further if you’re in the market bc this is the flagship. The tech is very good and I wish it had a B&O stereo option on the Elite bc again very good just not great. Fuel economy is ok but I figure I have to sacrifice a little for the power it has . I’d buy this one again

Undocumented feature
Have a 4 month old Odyssey with 1,600 miles on it, it has all kinds of electrical and computer problems when cold and wet. Second time to the dealership for the same problem. Electric locks, turnsignals, rear lift gate, and other computer controlled features not functioning. Very disapointed with the vehicle.

Great van
Only have car for 7 days. It rides and steers very good, quiet and solid , no rattles and bumps are hardly felt. Also car is great looking. On the con side, controls are confusing and it will take awhile to learn how to navigate everything, could use a little more legroom in front seats

Garbage
I’ve had screen issues since around 5 months. They’ve replaced the connectors, replaced other components and I’m now waiting on a full screen replacement with no end date in sight. The screen hasn’t been on for more than a few seconds in weeks. Very disappointing.

Disappointed on features for the price
Paid over $42,,000 exl and it feels like Honda has short sheeted the features no parking sensors garage door Remote and limited storage At 150 miles pulled out in heavy traffic and transmission would [non-permissible content removed], wind noise excessive on highway drives... Hoped to keep a while not sure kia better warranty and many more features for the $$ Honda dealerships seem interested in only making money Will be taking in for service shortly

A Space Odyssey!
It is far too early to actually evaluate this car after only 3 days. First impressions though are that we like it. What we do NOT like however is the fact that the Odyssey does not have AWD or Hybrid. This is a big mistake forcing minivan buyers to go to Siennas which have their own major issue of not allowing the second row seats to be removed to move large items or large dog crates!!.

Exactly the fit for our four kids.
Coming from Volvo xc90 moving to the odyssey I was mad to leave the Volvo behind but just a week in of owning the odyssey it’s 100% the right fit for our family of six. Each row has plenty of room for our kids. My 3 year old is in the third row and has almost 12 inches of room in front of our feet. Whereas in the Volvo she had to turn her feet and sometimes even take her shoes off to fit her feet. The built in tv in the touring trim is also a huge plus forcing our kids to agree on a show to watch together A+ on the Honda odyssey.

Car is great all around. Being an owner of Hondas since 1989, it’s what I expected from Honda. Never disappointed with the brand, doesn’t matter what model Honda.

Absolute junk
We bought a 2025 Odyssey having traded in a Grand Highlander Hybrid Limited (great car, not enough space). My god, this thing was awful. Electrical problems from the get go, cheap materials, terrible uncomfortable seats, sliding doors that reluctantly opened and closed (and regularly didn’t want to do either), sensors that didn’t work at all (a legitimate safety issue), blind spot warning not working, entertainment system refused to operate and awful in any kind of snow. We owned for 3 weeks and got rid of it. Buy a Sienna if you need a minivan. Shocking product from Honda.

Great Van
We leased our 24 Odyssey Ex-l in June of 24 and now in Jan of 25 we have about 6500 miles. So far the experience has been great. Let me start by saying we have disabled all the 'safety' features except for blind spot monitor which did need a service appt to get it to work properly. Since then, however, it's been a flawless experience. It drives very nice, has ample space for lots of passengers, good power overall and decent fuel mileage for such a large and versatile vehicle. So far the transmission shifts smooth and doesn't really hunt for gears, we'll see how it ages. Current plan is to buy out the lease in 2.5 years. Will update with ownership experiences as it continues, but so far, we are loving it!
Wonky trans
We love the comfortable heated cloth seats in beautiful brown! Great for road trips! The transmission is the weakest link. While driving in stop and go traffic the transmission is constantly searching for gears. Driving over 50 mph the shifting goes away. The quality of the plastics are not what they used to be, but I have noticed this with Toyota as well. I wish the ex model would have come with a power tailgate. The motor is a pleasure on the highway. If toyota still offered a V6 we would have considered it. I think there is a redesign for the Odyssey in 2025. From what I can tell it will not have a V6 option. We have owned our 2024 Odyssey EX for 7 months, and put 4000 miles on it. No issues yet.

A learning disaster
It may be a superb vehicle but the Honda team that supports you in learning what you have purchased is a disaster. My ability to take advantage of the vehicles capabilities is a bummer. No easy document access and human support just plain STINKS.

24 Odyssey Ex-l
We got our Odyssey in June of 2024 and now in Jan of 2025 we have about 6500 miles. After about 6 months and 6500 miles, it's been a fully satisfactory experience thus far. We're currently leasing it for 3 years/36,000 miles and right now we're planning on buying it after the lease. It's very nice driving (for a minivan). Tons of space. I love the configurable seating. It has plenty of power and gets pretty decent fuel mileage. Will update as we continue our lease/ownership. But as of now, i would recommend it to anyone!

Honda Lies
I purchased a 2024 Honda Odyssey Touring. My research on the Honda site tells me that my Touring is equipped with wireless car play, but it does not have wireless. It was one of my cosiderations when moving up to a Touring.

Very Disappointed with Honda Odyssey
My 2019 Honda Odyssey has a power tailgate issue—it won’t open. After researching online, I discovered that this is a common problem caused by water leakage. The Power Control Unit is located inside the car body and covered by a box, but somehow, water still gets in and damages the unit. I took the car to the dealership, and the repair estimate was over $1,600. I explained to the service advisor that this appears to be a widespread issue with Honda Odysseys. Unfortunately, he dismissed my concerns and simply told me not to blame Honda. Further research revealed numerous discussions and even lawsuits related to this exact problem. Many Odyssey owners have experienced the same issue, yet Honda continues to hold customers responsible for the repair costs. [HTML removed] Another issue is with the gas pedal response. When I stop at an intersection and then press the gas pedal, the response is extremely slow. Once it finally picks up, the front wheels spin. This is dangerous and could easily lead to an accident. I mentioned this to the dealership as well, but they were unable to fix it. This will be my last Honda. I can no longer recommend the brand to friends or anyone else. Honda’s customer service has also fallen far short of my expectations.
