2022 Touring 10k mile review
So far, so good in my 2022 Touring. The darker grey color with the black interior looks quite classy. Interior is much quieter than I expected. The engine has more than enough power to lug around our family of five plus cargo. Very comfortable on the few 4+ hour road trips we have taken. We definitely like the amount of USB cords available. Overall, this van seems to be a solid buy. I will update with more mileage. UPDATE: 20,000 trouble free miles now on this van. I’ve come to appreciate the adaptive cruise and lane keeping assist when I go on long road trips. The interior is holding up well as is the exterior. Tires still have plenty of tread, brakes working almost as new. We upgraded the rear suspension with a set of Timbren SES’s. It tightened up the back when we had a heavy load in the vehicle. Highly recommend this van to anyone looking. UPDATE: 30,000 miles now and nary a problem. I appreciate the automatic hi-beams and the interior and exterior are holding up well. Starting to look into a set of upgraded front brakes, a vibration is starting to occur at times under anything harder than normal braking. Tires have been rotated At recommended intervals and have a good amount of tread left. Nothing negative to report at all, the van is serving our family well. UPDATE: 40,000 miles, zero issues. Will be putting new tires on this van within the next month, the original tires are about to tap out as are the front brakes. I’ll replace them with some Centric rotors and Akebono pads. A few 17+ hour road trips under her belt and still rides tight and comfortable. UPDATE 1/10/24: Dropped 4 new shoes on the van at 43,000. I really like these Michelin Defender 2’s that we purchased at COSTCO. I also installed a set of Centric rotors and Akebono pads at around 46,000 miles. The original pads had plenty of life on them but the current setup is definitely an upgrade. The fan stops much better now. Currently at 49,000 and zero major issues with the van. Minor concern is it seems the FM reception is awful. Other than that I’m very happy with the vehicle. The interior is wearing very well and no exterior issues.

Transmission Died at 2k miles
We were 2 hours into a 5-hour road trip when the transmission on our brand new 2022 Elite Odyssey slipped into neutral going 70 mph on a busy interstate. The fact we made it over to the shoulder safely is a miracle. There were no warning lights that came on to indicate a problem, the car just stopped accelerating out of nowhere. The van was towed to a nearby dealer (hours from our house) and it remains there over two weeks later while waiting for the transmission to come in. Honda America has been completely unhelpful and I am counting down the days for my state's lemon law to kick in. I reported the issue to the NTSB and have seen multiple other reports of the same issue with the 2022 model in other forums. Honda should be taking this seriously before someone is seriously injured or killed...as I mentioned we were lucky. Our case manager has been completely useless. Please take note future buyers and Honda if you care to read reviews such as mine.

Transmission went
Only a week into my new 2022 Honda Odyssey was odyssey with just about 500 miles At 12 midnight with the van full of kids driving on the highway my transmission went it started making noises I pulled over and and the gears couldn't change . Was left stranded . Needed to leave it in gas station .

Worst Purchase Ever. Unreliable.
We purchased our BRAND NEW 2022 Odyssey in May 2021. 300 miles into driving it the transmission went completely out on the highway without warning and left us stranded in an unsafe situation. They had to completely replace it. Since that incident, we’ve gone on two family road trips and it has left us stranded both times in the way home with our two toddlers and dog. Zero warning. Neither the dealership nor Honda corporate has done anything to make it right. I would NEVER EVER recommend this van or another Honda to anyone. It’s completely unreliable and unsafe.

Should have left it at the dealership
The electronics are awful. One day the lane assist works the next it doesn’t. Even when it does work I only get a warning light which I don’t usually see. The idle option doesn’t work unless I turn the heat off. One day I was backing up and a big truck was coming behind me and no warning sound came on. This van’s been to my dealership countless times. They keep telling me everything is fine. I’m so sick of the frustration involved.
sliding door will not shut
5 miles into our new car and the driver side sliding door would not shut. I have had it towed to the dealership 3 times now. Has been "in the shop" for over 26 days now so we are super close to declaring this one a lemon. Honda has tried to fix it, replaced a ton of parts on the door, but it appears some electronics are preventing it from shutting. Nothing worse than 4 kids in car seats, the door won't shut then you have to get it towed door open to a dealer ship..... What a disaster!

Super great car, with a few issues
The car is great in almost every way - drives like a luxury sedan, is quiet, responsive and hi tech. There are a few annoying aspects. The driver's / front row seat belt should ride up about an inch higher. I'm 6'1" and its not quite high enough. Not a show stopper but certainly annoying. The arm rests for the second row seats are like sticks. They have no width to them. These won't comfortably support an adult's arms. What the heck? It seems like they cheaped out on this to save a few dollars but its ridiculous. Bad decision on their part. Another very bad decision on the design is that they seemed to have reduced the height of the interior (and overall height) of the car. I could load two or three biikes in my old Odyssey with the middle seats out with no diffifculty. In the new Odyssey its very very difficult to arrange two bikes to fit. Possible but difficult. I know they're trying to make the car sleeker, but reducing the height just takes away functionality. One reason to buy a minivan is for its loading capacity. The height dimension is important. Again why did they do this? This is the most annoying change to the vehicle. Anyway, other than that, the car is just great.

Switched from 2007 to 2022
I had my 2007 ocean mist Odyssey EXL for 14 years with 215,000 miles on it when I totaled it on a frozen bridge couple of miles from home. My kids grew up in that van that took us all over the USA and Canada. Never had any issues. It was a truly family vehicle with tons of storage space. Wife insisted on another Odyssey. Got 2022 EXL in March of 2021. The vehicle looks sharp, handling is amazing so is the acceleration. Ton of safety features that practically allows van to be “self driving .” Wife and my grown kids love the new van. I am not crazy about it though. Yes, I love the electronic steering versus pump driven one, but I feel the hesitation in the gear shifting. I am not implying the the transaction is bad, it’s just different from the 2007 model. What bothers me also is that the van doesn’t feel to be a family hauler anymore. They made it sporty while completely removing the in floor storage along with all the hidden storage components that used to be in the third generation Odysseys. The grill on 21-22 models is different from 18-20 models and it’s ugly. Wish Honda kept the original one. It’s my personal opinion based on observations that the Honda quality isn’t there. It feels as if the “dealership will fix” mentality has taken over since there’s a huge deficit of the new vehicles. In couple of spots I see the gap misaligned and the rubber weatherstripping on the lift gate window is kinked and twisted. Overall the van is a good buy and no major issues.

Truly Elite!
After selling our beloved Toyota Sienna this spring, we purchased a 2022 Odyssey Elite in June and have already taken it on a week+ road trip from Minneapolis to NYC, CT and Cape Cod, followed by a shorter journey to the North Shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota. It is currently sitting at just under 5K miles, and we have loved every minute of owning this Odyssey. We met or exceeded the estimated highway MPG on both of our trips, and we have never driven in such a quiet vehicle. Both road noise and other ambient noise are effectively mitigated. We have found the Odyssey to be supremely comfortable, fast, smooth and quiet, and we have enjoyed all of the nooks and crannies for storage. Plenty of room even with our dog and kennel along. All-in-all: A truly elite road trip vehicle. (Also, top safety ratings were a driving factor in our decision to purchase, but glad we waited some of the refinements made in the 2021/22 models.)

I can’t hate this car more
Been a longtime Toyota person but tried a Honda. Needed a van for the kids. I’ve had this car less than a week and I have major regrets about the purchase. First, the electronics. They are glitchy beyond belief. Half the time Apple car play doesn’t work. 2/3 of the time the climate controls don’t work. This van is also very far from quiet. I guess it’s all relative but my old Toyota was quieter. I also got warning lights about total loss of steering while going 70mph on a highway. Nice. Thankfully it was fast, but when the electronics in the car don’t work, that includes steering. Last but not least, I absolutely HATE the design of the driver seat. It’s literally back-breaking. Didn’t realize I’d need weekly chiropractor adjustments just to be able to have a van. I don’t think they could have made that seat more uncomfortable if they tried. Little things: I like the glasses compartments but there are not enough cubbies for other things. The driver armrest also blocks the seatbelt buckle. The third row latch doesn’t work half the time on one side. I hate this car and I’ll be that person who trades in within a year (and that’s if I make it even that far) at a huge loss. Never again. Just no. Absolutely horrible.

I keep comparing this to my 10 year old mini van
I traded in my 10 year old grand caravan for a new 2022 Honda Odyssey. Maybe I expected too much but I miss my old van! The heat and air does not work half as well as my old van! I can not even tell that the seats are heated. It gets slightly warm but that is it. I like to remote start the vehicle to get it warmed up in the winter and I run it two cycles (20 minutes) and it is still cold when I get it. Yes, we have the heat settings full blast on high. What is going on. My old mini would be almost too hot on one cycle. The air and heat are LOUD when turned up high. Much louder than my old mini. Another thing that is really annoying is the remote start. Most vehicles allow remote from the app, however Honda makes you pay a yearly fee!!! That right there is enough for me to never buy another Honda. The push button controls did not fully engage in drive and it sounded like the car was going to explode, I quickly pulled over to restart the car and hope that it would be in the right gear. I have less than 5000 miles on this vehicle and I am ready to trade it in:(

So far so good.
Wow, reading some of these reviews is scary. I thought they fixed transmission issues when they upgraded from the 9 speed to the 10 speed, but I guess not? That's a bummer. Our van has been great so far, but we've only had it 1 month. I'll update later if anything changes. We own a 2009 Odyssey as well, and the 2022 seats sit MUCH lower. Switching between the 2 vans, the 2022 feels like a car seat while the 09 sits high up like a truck. Very strange. The armrests are a downgrade, especially the pencil thin rests in the 2nd row. They're a joke. The driver-side rest is shorter than the 2009 so half my arm is hanging off it. I love the technology. For the one struggling with carplay issues, just make sure to use a better Apple cable. No problems after switching from a generic one. Love the ACC and LKAS. The van can pretty much drive itself on the interstate. I hope we can get 12 years out of this van like our old one. Oh, the A/C is not as cold as the 2009. I blame the switch to R1234yf for that. Thanks to the environmentalists.... :-/
Great Family Car
Saw the reviews about the transmission and owned the van six months with 8K. So far, the vehicle has been great, took a trip to Florida and great family car. My only qualms is the tech is a bit old and the wifi hotspot is really slow. Wished they had some streaming capability since most kids watch Netflix or YouTube. Terms of driving, you can tell the difference between a V6 and 4 cylinder, instant torque you need in the Highway. This is my 4th Honda and been loyal to the brand since I never had no major issues. Just did the regular maintenance schedule.

Overall poor choice, basic features don’t work
Overall, I am sorry that I purchased this vehicle - it is just not up to the standards of previous models. The touchscreen has never worked properly. It is a major distraction to use as it takes at least 2-3 taps to get anything working and multiple functions just do not work at all because the tapping does not do anything. Incredible distraction while driving and not really possible to change radio stations or heat and stay within marked lanes. CarPlay is also problematic and it typically takes 3-4 tried to get it to recognize any phone even though the phone is getting power. Again - trying to get it working is an incredible distraction while driving and it never connects properly of the car of not running. Finally the idle stop does not work and the deal we had no idea how to fix it. Basically it’s a piece of crap and I am strongly considering counting my losses and getting rid of it. Such a disappointment.

Unnecessary Equipment
No sure if the trim, probably Touring, more expensive than the EX-L. As a retired couple we do not need a camera and DVD player for the second row. We essentially require all the safety features, such as lane departure, collision mitigation, parking sensors, etc., and helpful features such as keyless entry, apple play, rear gate remote, etc.

Likes Gas
The Honda Odyssey EXL has got a pretty classy interior. The engine and transmission combination is fairly smooth, but I've driven better (and I've driven worse). My biggest complaint is I'm not getting anywhere near the mileage rating which is advertised for that vehicle. The ride is also a bit overly smooth reminicent of a '79 Caddy. Could be just a bit tighter for my taste.I've test driven all the other new minivans and the Honda was as at least as good, if not better than the others. The new hybrid Sienna had a loud engine and did not feel as solid as the Honda. The Kia Carnival was on par with the Honda. So was the Pacifica.

Nice and spacious
It is a nice looking van. Smooth, quiet drive. The safety features really keep you safe on the road. Comfortable seats from front to back. The back seat is spacious enough to accommodate 3 carsits. The captain chairs in the 2nd row are comfortable. I love how the 2nd row can be adjusted in different ways. We can have them next to each other or give them a little or a lot of space between them. The trunk space is surprisingly big. It is huge. The built in mirror area at the glasses holder is great. I can check on the kids without having to turn around. However: I wish the doors had a safety feature that would stop them from closing when someone was on the way. Like an elevator ;) The vents on the front don't close and have limited redirection range. I wish they close. The compartment between the front seats need taller barriers to keep thing from falling on the drivers feet. Overall it is a great van.

A recall waiting to happen
The electronics in this car are terrible. Usually the lane assist doesn't work. The backup warning works sporadically and the auto stop never worked to begin with. I have been to the dealership at least 5 times to no avail. They let me try another new 2022 Odyssey and those features didn't work on this car either. I am fed up!

Gorgeous Radiant Red
Before vehicle, with all the latest safety features including a backseat reminder check if there is weight in the back seats, how safe and cool is that. The Odyssey is quiet, comfortable and roomy. The interior and exterior have a great fit and finish. Had the Odyssey for 6 months, no issues at all. Need Wireless Air Play. Don’t like to Plug In just for Apple Car Play. The vehicle has wireless charging, why not have wireless Apple Car Play?

Sorry purchase
I never thought I would have a new vehicle I was less interested in driving. Good job to the Honda engineers for taking the joy out of driving. Loaded with electronics but can't have navigation unless you buy the top trim package with even more stuff you don't want. I hate looking at the main screen, it's useless. Love my Ford sync with the maps, radio and phone. Also not a fan of push button starter and transmission. I guess I'll consider myself lucky if I don't have the big problems others are having. Can't wait to get rid of this pos ! BTW, my own fault, wife works for a dealer and we just traded up from a '17 odyssey. Didn't do my homework, hate the changes, mea culpa.
Nice ride
Only had it a week but so far I love it, the safety features are awesome, blind spot detection is one of my favorite

2022 Honda Odyssey EX-L: So far, we really like it
We traded in a 2019 Odyssey for a 2022, and so far we are very happy with it. The biggest difference is in the transmission - the car is noticably smoother and has more pep than the 2019. Also has a few more safety features. One small con: Honda decided to put multi-colored carpet floor mats in the van that are UGLY! What were they thinking?
Underwhelmed by the 2022 elite
We went to our local dealership to check out a 2022 Honda Odyssey elite Platinum white with black interior and found ourselves to be disappointed. We knew we weren't fans of the black interior but liked it even less than we even thought we would! We have a 2019 Odyssey touring in the Pacific pewter, and a side-by-side comparison of it and the 2022, ours wins hands down... Just a classier look overall. The elite has a couple of features that our touring model does not have, but we are thinking we will just keep what we have for now. The vehicle not the dealership

Wonderful Odyssey
This is my 4th Honda Odyssey. What a great vehicle! It rides so smoothly and everything I ever want in a vehicle is right there.
Safe and comfortable
It's so safer than I expected all safety operations working very well. Seat back have enough space for adults people till eight people. Gas consumption is reasonable range when you use economy fuel option. It's speeding very fast.
Best Minivan out there!
I highly recommend the Odyssey because it's so versatile if you have kids. The sliding doors are an absolute dream. Kids can get themselves in and out easily. Good for people young and old.
So far so good
I leased the Honda Odyssey Touring model and while I have only had for a week I am pleased with the overall vehicle. Took a bit to get used to the different controls but the ride is smooth and the vehicle is quiet.

Pretty Good
So far this car have met my expectations and I am enjoying the drive as well. Electronics on this thing are amazing. I just have to see how this car performs in long run that time will tell. With so much electronics onboard, any small component failing will be an expensive repair.
