Great all-around car

2020 Honda CR-V EX-L 4dr SUV AWD (1.5L 4cyl Turbo CVT)

This car holds everything that we need it to hold, which is why we bought it to begin with. It accelerates very smoothly because it has a CVT and at a decent rate. My wife thinks it is slow because she is accustomed to our previous car that had a normal automatic. I really like the car a lot because of the features that it has that were considered super-luxury as recent as five years ago, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist as well. Honda's great reputation is the cherry on top.

Auto engine idle shutoff is DANGEROUS.

I will start with the -1st, and it is a very important thing to consider. Auto engine shut off when idling is an extremely dangerous future when it cannot be disabled as a default. Every time you restart your vehicle this feature is auto enabled, if you forget to disable it you will inevitably have your engine shut off when you do a quick stop before moving into an intersection. This means you have no power your car is delayed in momentum and any speed that you anticipated is stripped away. If you live in a busy city with lots of intersections that you need to pull into this is extremely dangerous. I decided to write this review after I almost was hit in an intersection because of this “feature”. And of course I would be at fault, even though the reason is that my engine shut off at the exact moment I went to press the gas pedal, When it finally decided to move it kind of sputtered me into the oncoming traffic This is an extremely easy fix and future revisions, which would simply see the ability to permanently disable this feature as a default, rather than having to remember this every single time you get into your vehicle. It is a feature that is designed to basically Improve needed for consumption when selling the vehicles, But in many cases has little effect. And may actually lead to more engine wear anyways. Now for the positives, extremely sturdy quiet ride. Sportier drive than the Toyota RAV4, no cheap materials inside. Very comfortable and ergonomically. I have spent months driving the competition from various companies. And realize that this is the superior option. Most importantly most of the features you want to come as a base, whereas with the competition you have to move up several models, and therefore price, to get the same features

CR-ME

I bought a Honda CR-V back in 2006 and I’ve owned up until September. One owner, sold it with only 138,000 miles for $5600. It was sad so I started looking at brand new CR-V’s and I saw a 2020 CR-V for sale me in the color blue. I test drove it and before I knew I was buying it. Payed $29,000 and now I’ve owned it for 3 months and I have 2,334 Miles on it. Haven’t had one issue, fuel economy is great. Love all the technology and stuff. I can already CR-ME a future with this.

Can't Go Wrong with This Honda

6+ Months update: I’ve put on close to 7K miles in about 6 months... Still no complains! I have also discovered the magic of Lane Keep Assist!! I will however say that the seats can feel uncomfortable if you’re sitting in there for 6+ hours. Bring some extra cushions for your tailbone! Mechanically, no complaints so far. Acceleration has gotten better with time, I swear. Gas mileage is a little lower than I expected but oh well. I used to be able to drive over 300+ miles across the state on 2/3 tank of gas (in a Civic & Accord) but now it takes the full tank to do the same drive so I end up filling up again. I know it’s a bigger car, AWD and all that factors in but still a little disappointed. Just a little. Otherwise, I’m still happy with it and still worth the 5 stars. I bought this car after trying to decide between EX & the EX-L. The AWD provides a comfort and sense of safety that most FWD can't give. I ended up with the EX-L because of the additional safety features it came with. I'm not a fan of leather seats or leather interiors in general but in this car, it felt pretty good. The front seats warm up so as the main driver, this is perfect-o. My hubs and I have had so much fun personalizing the touch screen interface (you can even change the background - whaaaat!!) and listening to music with the 8 speakers. Hondas aren't known to be luxurious cars but the 2020 CRV has really amped up its affordability and the feeling of royalty when you're in the car.

Front was small; touch-screen only option for AC/R

I know Honda makes a great car, however, I was surprised by how crammed the front felt once inside. We actually found the HR-V to have more (or at least felt like more) space to the front. We also did not like that Radio/AC/Heat were all touch-screen with no knobs. Only the base models have knobs. Salesman said it was important to buy extended warranty because his Honda's touch-screen needed repaired 6 months after warranty. He stated that the touch-screen breaks often, leaving you with no knob to adjust/turn on/off. Only option is replace immediately. We chose not to purchase and ended up purchasing a 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer RS instead. Roomier, nicer overall features, touch-screen and knobs and same price for a sharper looking vehicle.
