2018 CRV EX
After purchasing and leasing many Hondas over the last 20 years—civics, accords, odysseys, insights—I purchased a new crv in 2014. I drove it for about three months and decided that it was the best Honda I had ever owned. I put over 100K miles on it in four years, and then purchased a 2018 model. This crv was better in almost every way: gas mileage, ride, comfort, handling, noise level—all very impressive. However, as many owners have observed, the Achilles heel of this otherwise outstanding vehicle is the flawed infotainment system, especially Apple CarPlay. I’ve read about every “fix” on the internet, changed out multiple Apple cables, consulted with my service advisor, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to reboot the system; this works for a little while, and then it’s back to not recognizing my phone, etc., etc. I’ve never had a Honda feature give me so much trouble, and obviously I am not alone. Honda, please get together with Apple and figure this out!

2018 CRV
Noise, distortion for handsfree call. Happens all the time, Sounds like underwater or driving with the windows being opened at highway speeds. Clients wanted to hang up with me because they cannot talk to me while in my CRV. So far as of 02/26/2020 Honda corporation does not have nor are they seeking a fix/repair for this issue. If you use handsfree, do NOT buy a Honda product.

Too many issues for the prices
2018 Honda CR-C Ex-L with navigation purchased new. Have had issues with foggy windows since purchasing. Oil dilution issue lead to injectors being replaced at around 65k miles (just out of warranty) although Honda did credit me the labor to replace them. Now the AC has malfunctioned and will need a new compressor, another $1000 plus repair. Although the vehicle is comfortable to drive and gets adequate gas mileage (around 30Hwy). No way a vehicle with only 75k miles should have had all these what I consider major issues. Wont buy another one.

The best ever vehicle looking to add another one H
After getting the heater for not warming up cured by the dealer flushing the cooling system it now works beautifully. The air conditioning compressor failed the dealer replaced it working great. The security system was going off randomly that was cured by replacing hood lath including security switch. A great vehicle would buy again.

Great SUV
My car is an EXL AWD. I have never got less than 30 mpg which is amazing for a 3600 pound AWD SUV. I have 2300 miles on my car now and it has averaged 30.6 mpg since I drove it off of the dealers lot.The ride is taught and handling is like it is on rails. The steering wheel is thick in your hands and the leather on it feels rich. The interior fit and finish are perfect and the look and feel of the interior is above anything else in this price class. If you're looking for an SUV in this size and class you owe it to yourself to test drive a CRV. Now that I have owned my CRV for 8 months I have a better feel for it. To start with the gas mileage has been amazing. I now have over 10K on the car and I have averaged 32.3 mpg since I left the dealership, I have had a low of 28.6 and a high of 41.8 mpg. That is amazing for a AWD 3600 lb. car that runs this well. I went on vacation to the Smokey Mountains this year and the total trip was a little over 2500 miles and the car preformed flawlessly. Considering all the cars in this 5 passenger SUV market I definitely made the right choice. Considering the room, look, mpg's and performance I am more than happy and I definitely made the right choice! Now that I have a little over 17K on my car it still impresses me. The MPG, ride, handling, comfort and the looks of the car are amazing. MPG since I left the dealer lot is still 32.3 mpg in combined driving. I live in the mountains of Pa. There is no flat land where I live which makes the mpg that much more impressive. I would by this car again in a heart beat!

Screen issues
Nice car but about 3 months ago my computer screen started to turn on and off and the brightness bar will show up flashing and beeping. Honda tells me that they don't have an explanation but few car owners are reporting similar problems. Let's hope they figure it out soon.
Great new car
The more I drive it the more I like it. I now see why I see so many CR-Vs on the road.

After two months and four snow/ice storms
This is a very good vehicle. Safety and overall functionality are excellent. There is a learning curve to the electronics and safety feature, but it was reasonably intuitive. We have logged about 2700 miles including several major storms, each with multiple traffic accidents occurring all around us as well as quite a bit of high speed rush hour traffic. The car did very well through it all so far. Also, the purchasing process, using Edmunds was very helpful.

Too early to tell
I now have a grand total of 76 miles on this car, so, toooo early to tell. The dealer did not do a very good job of explaining the technology features, so I had to really study the manual to see how the settings worked. I am still working on that.

Love it even though I still barely know it
After exhaustive research on crossovers, numerous spreadsheets, etc, I had narrowed my choice down to the Honda CRV EX, the Toyota RAV4 XLE, and the Hyundai Santa Fe Sport 2.0T. I ended up with the Honda and after approx 1000 miles, I have no regrets. This is a very practical car, but also quite fun one as long as I take it out of ECON mode. The turbo engine has some serious kick to merge into traffic, and then once I have merged, I put it into ECON mode. After numerous trips from Denver into the mountains for skiing, I am still averaging over 31mpg. I am still learning all the features of the amazing entertainment system. We are really looking forward to our first road trip with mountain bikes in it! The RAV4 just felt simple and primitive inside and the big 19" wheels on the Hyundai made it ride way too rough for my comfort. An update after about 8000 miles. Awesome. We took a big road trip with heaps of camping gear, golf clubs, mountain bikes (on a Thule rack) and it was very comfortable. The gas mileage dropped a bit since we had a rooftop cargo box, but the car drove very well. No regrets at all. My only nitpick is I wish the radio had a radial tuning knob. It would be easier than trying to punch the arrow buttons on the touch screen. I realize this is obviously a first-world-problem.

impossible to use interior cockpit
if you like getting out of the car to pull the "open gas tank" lever, the CRV is right for you. Nothing is easy in the cockpit of a CRV. Glove compartment hard to access from driver's seat, charging plug in is so deep in middle console you can't possibly find it without a special light, even during daylight. console has limited space, and is not easy to reach from driver's seat. No light in far back...good luck unpacking in the dark! And driver has less space in the CRV than in the Accord. Would never buy another one!

Waiting out warranty
2018 CRV EX electrical problems at all the bulletin updates done because of flashing warning lights on dash board , third time . Said it had something to do with the injectors replaced at 38,000 miles not good . Waiting out warranty, other than that I love the way the car drives and handles, the Interior Plus the gas mileage . Thinking of going to the proven pilot V6 , six speed transmission. Prefer the CRV do not prefer the issue after issue. (Solved problem ! )Got a 2016 Highlander V6 rock Solid engine and Trans ,only 36,000 m Tried and tested . I must admit though I may be {checking }out the 2020 hybrid CRV, they will have to make me one fantastic deal to switch back, no more turbos, At least from Japan, hybird has a gasoline engine batteries guaranteed 10 years ! I must say the dealership that I got the CRV from were very courteous always gave me a loaner car no questions asked. That’s The reason I may go back to check out the hybrid. I advise do not buy a Honda turbo CRV, Pilot would be my only and ONLY option.

So much fun to drive!
This car is zippy, comfortable and so fun to drive. I drove from NY to VA and I barely noticed. I love the leather because it makes having 4 dogs in and out of it, no problem at all. It cleans so easily. The heated seats are such a nice touch for the NY winters. I love using the Apple car play so you can use Pandora, listen to podcasts or audible and safely listen to and respond to text messages. The navigation displays is nicely sized. It also gets great gas mileage too.

first suv
I love the pricing of this SUV for all the things it offers with a lot of space. Update 2 years after owning it I still enjoy it and all the features it offers. I have not been satisfied with Honda paint, the paint on my hood started peeling within a year. I was able to get it fixed due to it being under the 36k mike warranty but I would not purchase another Honda for a very long time.

Disappointing
Love this car when it is running, but I am getting to know the service dept. people too well. Multiple issues with the displays operating erratically. A 6 hour recall to avoid engine oil being contaminated with gasoline. A roadside service call when it would not start for some unexplained reason. I must now bring it in again to have them try to figure out why it would not start. One of the most unreliable cars I have ever owned in over 60 years of driving. i do not recommend this car. Best decision I made was leasing it so i can give it back to Honda at the end of my lease. Nearing the end of my lease. Still feel the same. Dealer does not help with unneeded recommended maintenance items.
Waited so long
This is a great size and handling SUV with some wonderful safety features. We have only had it a few months and haven't put a lot of miles on it yet, but have done both city and highway driving. The only thing it is lacking is a front camera to help with pulling into a parking space (and would also help pulling into my garage). It is hard sometimes to judge how close you are to the concrete barriers and if you are within the lines. We didn't realize that it didn't have that when we bought the car although I don't think it would have made a difference in our decision to buy it. Also, I wish that the blind side warning light on the mirrors was a little larger. Overall, we feel it was a good buy, and we are enjoying it.

Decent SUV with all the bells and whistles
Purchased our CR-V in Feb 2018. Now that we’ve had it a year and racked up 19,000 miles, I would say it’s safe to do a review. I love the cars styling and handling. Gas mileage is good with an average of 29.8 mpg in mixed driving. The cargo area is plenty big enough for our 3 dogs with the seats down. Handling in the snow and slush is very good as well. The only downfalls I can say is that in our year of ownership the vehicle has been in the service center 9 times. Not for standard maintenance either. Three times was the suspension, once was a antifreeze smell coming from the engine, and 4 times for a squealing sound coming from the dash when the air or heat is on. First they replaced the air control module (what makes the air blow different directions) and that didn’t fix it. Now it’s in the shop again on a 3 day repair for the heater control box. Obviously the entire dash needed to be pulled out to have it repaired. The fun part is the actual part took 6 weeks to get in because Honda wouldn’t release them to a dealership until they met a certain quota. I have a feeling that with all the issues we have had in a $35,000 vehicle, I may switch back to GM.

Really enjoying the CR-V
I thought it would be a bigger adjustment to downsize from the Odyssey now that I no longer am regularly driving a teen around, but it's been fine. The ride is steady and I love the active safety controls.

Honda CR-V ex has no CD player, a show stopper!!
I just bought a 2018 Honda CR/V for my wife. I assumed that it would have a built-in CD player like all the 3 Hondas I have owned over the years. Shock and horror!! The CR/V has no CD player. I totally rely on listening to books on CD all the time I drive. Had I noticed the lack of a CD player I would not have bought the Honda CR/V. My only option is to have an external CD player with a Bluetooth; a very clunky solution. Buyer be aware! If I could return the Honda CR/V I would. I was going to buy a CR/V for myself, next month, not a chance! I will not buy any car without a good sound system with a integral CD player. Buyer be aware.

My CR-V
Car has been all I expected it to be, replacing a Lexus RX350 and I do not miss it. The only complaint is the exhaust tone!! Very lame!!! The car now has 10K miles on it and I still enjoy driving it. I have three things that Honda could change to make it almost perfect: a larger gas tank would be nice, (it now has a 12 gallon tank), reverse tilting mirrors would assist in locating the curbs when parking, and sensors in the rear bumper, (i know these can be added by the dealer but they should be standard). And I still would like the exhaust tone to be improved, a Civic SI has the same engine but sounds awesome). My 2018 CR-V now has 27K miles on it and I still enjoy driving it. The only maintenance it has needed is changing the oil and filters and tire rotation. It has been perfect. And we get 36 mpg on the highway. Approaching 40k miles, six years old, still going strong, after a good wash it looks li's a new vehicle and it rides like one, almost time for a break job, waiting for parts for a fuel pump recall.

Great Ride
Replaced our 2013 Rogue with the CR-V a few weeks ago. The CR-V has enhanced safety dynamics, good acceleration, comfortable quiet interior, good handling and exceptional interior room. The outward visibility is much enhanced over the Rogue. Our Rogue had a very loud engine noise, poor outward visibility and underwhelming acceleration,

CR-V gripes
Our CR-V handles well in snow and gas mileage pretty good. Something that could be tweaked Dome light to far back can’t reach from front seat. Lights in back hatch area are on the sides , can’t see anything at night. No automatic headlight censor at night, so don’t forget to turn on your lights at dusk.

Not Exactly My Idea of a Great Car
This vehicle has been a pain to own. The GPS/Radio has gone out four times and has been replaced each time by Honda. There is a glitch in the electrical system that causes the GPS to stop functioning and the GPS and radio refuses to start until the car has been turned off and allowed to sit for five minutes. Honda remains clueless about how to diagnose/repair the issue. Recently the temperature gauge has started bouncing from low to high at startup. Returns to normal setting once the engine warms. The dealer has seen the problem via numerous videos taken however cannot replicate the issue so Honda Corp says the issue does not exist. The dealer also sold me on outside mirrors that auto-adjusted depending on which key was used to start the car. Mentioned on the window sticker, the owner's manual and by the dealer. Turns out Honda Corp. eliminated this feature in 2018 and failed to tell anyone. Honda told me thank you for bringing the misprint on the window sticker and the owner's manual to their attention. No apology for misrepresenting the vehicle to the dealers or the potential buyer. This will be my last Honda. I have owned four Hondas (an 2010 Accord EX-L and this 2018 CR-V being the most recent) and Honda's decline has been evident. What is more disturbing is Honda Corporation's lack of concern after the sale. The dealer believes the car should be taken back as a lemon however Honda Corp, even with proof of ongoing electrical failures, refuses to even discuss a buyback. There are better cars out there....

You will be soooo happy you purchased the CRV, just be aware the blu-tooth phone connectivity suffers from background noise, and I had callers say they thought they could hear the radio in the background (strange since the radio cuts out when the phone comes over the speakers!).

The car is just too dependent on the center dash screen. The screen becomes a distraction while driving. The car is slow to respond to controls. It feels like you are fighting the cor for control while driving. Only have 15k on the can the the check engine light comes on. I used to buy only Honda’s but nor any more. Feel like the car won’t last 5 years with how it’s built.

My new CR-V
I’ve had this car for 6 weeks. I have 1900 miles including a round trip to Wash DC for 1000 miles. The car is very comfortable to drive and I really like the safety features. I am getting 35 mpg highway and 25 in town. These are both better than my Sonata with the 2.0t engine. I am getting used to the CVT tranny. My only complaint is that with the 1.5l turbo engine the vehicle is underpowered. Put in a 2.0l turbo or the engine from the Acura RCD and this baby would drive like my old Sonata. Overall, I love my new Honda CR-V.
