The SUV that set the bar for ALL others
Things to take into consideration when looking at the 2016 CR-V EX (middle trim level). Features, Safety and Reliability. The 2016 EX has it all. Smart Key entry, Lane Departure camera, Touchscreen Audio and Personalized Settings, 10way Power Driver Seat (including lower lumbar support adjustment), Tilt and Telescopic Steering, "3" info centers for driver viewing. Not another in it's class that is even close.

Is it rude to call a Vehicle Junk?
How about after having the transmission replaced at only 30,400 miles ! This is our second Honda to have the transmission replaced in the last six months ! I think that qualifies, in an unbiased manner... Junk ! It was bad enough that our last three Honda's needed new tires before accumulating 25,000 miles; our 2016 CR-V, my 2017 CR-V, and my 2018 Odyssey EX, all had severe tire issues. And they were rotated and cared for as needed. We have purchased 13 Honda's over the past 20 years, from the dame dealership in Cary,NC. It seems that recent models no longer live up to the quality standards of the past. We will buy no more Honda cars !

18 months in and loving it
We purchased this used with 19,000mi and found it just broken in. Great build in general, consistent with Honda quality. Only routine maintenance done, no surprises. It can get 26-28 mpg around town if you drive conservatively. Surprisingly, the mpg drops to about 24 when you keep it about 70-75 mph, probably due to the AWD and small 4 cyd engine. My other car is an 2012 Acura, but despite that common heritage, I did not think the steering wheel controls, or even the touch screen controls were intuitive. They seem to push you towards using your voice control to do everything (at least while driving, for "safety" sake) for navigation and that was VERY frustrating. The voice recognition software is just not good enough- at least not in during a noisy drive (which reminds me, it is noisier than my Acura, as expected, but I still think they could have quieted it down some. The lane warnings are occasionally inaccurate, which bugs me, but it is not terrible. As a follow up now, in 2024, it has needed no major maintenance. Still runs well.

Don't do it!
The vibration issue is real!. After five months I began to feel the vibration especially when holding the brake while stopped at a light. It has gotten increasingly worse. Three trips to the service center to be told that this is normal. Shame on Honda. This problem outweighs any positive features.

Luxury of a Cadillac in aMid size Honda CR-V Touri
To get the owner features found in my Cadillac SRX I had to buy the CR-V touring. Like the ability to open my garage, good bluetooth connectivity with my iPhone. The new right side rear viewing camera is very handy during changing lanes.
