Worst Honda Ever

I've had my car for exactly one week and I am completely disappointed. This is my third Honda and is my last Honda. Vibration and shuddering after it warmed up and really terrible at idle (stop on D). The vibration is very noticeable on passenger seat without passenger. The posted MPG is not true. The MPG from Honda website is 26 city/33 highway/28 combined mpg rating for AWD models. Currently mine is only 23.3 mpg combined (driving a little more city than highway). The heater is weak and has trouble keeping up in cold weather. The back seat takes very long time to get warm. This is really a problem for me because I have kids sitting in the back seat.

Updated from original review (6-3-15) (6-3-17) I've driven the CRV for 1200+ miles here in SoCal. I've only come across the vibration while driving once when I was on the freeway at 60+ mph. The outside temp was in the high 50's. The drive felt very rough. All other drives except when idling, at a stop with the car in drive and my foot on the brake, have been vibration free. I find the infotainment system to be outdated and difficult to use along with the voice features. I've gotten used to the Lane watch feature and I've grown to love it. I can't wait until all cars get rid of mirrors and switch to cameras only. I'd prefer to have the camera feed show up on the instrument panel or a HUD feature instead of the infotainment display. Otherwise, it's got a comfortable interior, a good ride and good looks. I'm happy (Update from 6-3-16) The dreaded vibration creeped in at about 2,000 miles. For me, the whole issue has been blown out of proportion. It's not as bad as I've been led to believe. It's noticeable for sure, but it only happens when stopped, with the car in gear and after it has warmed up. Because the weather is usually warm and I don't stop often or for very long the vibration isn't an issue. However, this may change in the long run. Also, loading gear for my wife and I is a breeze. The floor is low so it's easy to get a stroller in and out. I'm satisfied with my purchase.

Rattles; lots of cheap plastic; lousy mileage

I've had this vehicle for 26 months & 13000 miles of mixed driving. It's been getting 22.5 mpg, & I've been babying it w/eco mode on. If you drive it "normally", it drops to 22 in eco mode, & 21 w/o eco mode. Unless you have super quick reflexes to hit the eco button to disable eco mode in an emergency, leave it off or the car has virtually no pickup. The interior of the doors is all cheap plastic, and there's very little in the way of support behind the door panels. I tend to lean my left leg against the door when I drive, and it's already starting to "give". The door panels rattle and the dealer says it's "normal". Really? The console box is small compared to my Camry & the USB/HDMI connections are in there; if you keep stuff wired up, there isn't much usable storage in there. Little pickup but handles well. The tech package isn't ready for prime time. Lane departure warning gives more false alarms than legit and I keep it off. Lane keep assist (self steering) works ok on a clean road with freshly painted lines, but any little thing makes it lose sight of the road and it constantly warns you to take over full control. More of a distraction once you get past the novelty of it. Pass on the tech package: $5000 and it is not Tesla's or Google's self driving car, not even close Update: Jan 7, 2017: It's been a while and the review stands as-written. I leave the eco-mode off full time as I've had a few occasions to need to accelerate rapidly and there is simply no time to find that eco button. The lane-departure-warning is wrong more than it's right. The lane-keep-assist requires you to spend more time looking at the dash than the road since it's constantly giving the the can't-see-the-lines-on-the-road-please-take-over warning. Also, the mileage is not even remotely close to what Honda advertised. Update: Jan 10, 2017: One final thought to consider when purchasing this - or any other - vehicle. Most of my trips are short (less than 10 miles). I just got back from a two day 900 mile trip and discovered something else. The front seats have what I'll call "wings" that are sculpted up and inward on the base, and seat back - presumably to provide support, or help keep you in place during an accident. I'm a pretty big guy and on any long trip they tend to put a lot of pressure on your thighs and back. I assumed it was because of my size. My brother, who is as skinny as can be, bought a Lexus with the same style seats. He has a 95 mile daily drive and within 2 weeks he traded in the car because the seats made him uncomfortable. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but you'll only know if it works for you personally if you think about it *consciously* while sitting in the vehicle. It's not something you'll notice on a test drive, but something that you should consider when purchasing ANY vehicle.

7600 miles and still under warranty ( thank heavens). On I-95 in Delaware, headed for my son's in PA when transmission dies! In middle lane of 5 lane highway. Truck driver behind me pushes me to shoulder at great personal risk. Towed to dealer who got me rental. Ordered new transmission and I picked it up on Thursday. Dealer (Martin Honda was great) but Honda disappinted me. I had a 2007 CRV which I loved! If this tranny busts it will be my last Honda!

UPDATED: Radio/CD/Bluetooth worse: can't easily replace sound system, now dropping most hands-free mobile calls (Apple iOS) rear camera gets more annoying every day; radio can't be upgraded to a real one without losing function; high maintenance cost… Never again. Interior cubbies, storage, are lacking. Rear-view camera & guides are totally useless, I only use mirrors. Radio with single optical disc far too big, poorly laid out, long long learning curve. Bluetooth for phone okay functionally, hard to program. CVT was not an issue, but just as noisy inside as ever. Very bad carpet-plastics-paint co-ördination: brown with black with white? Aggressive up-selling of bs options at finalization, no deals on financing. Stuck with this turkey for 3~5 years, depreciated one-third ($20k two years later). Last one of these, ever.

Should be happy

I went from a V8 Sierra, to the Honda CRV Touring. The gas mileage is very good, average around town 25-26. Don't pull out in traffic, it doesn't have the fastest get up and go. Love the heated seats (would be nice to have more temperature control, not just hi and low) Moon roof leaked a little in some car washes, but liked this option. Navigation too hard to set up, Bluetooth worked but sounded bad to callers, and you really had to speak clearly and loudly. Turned off collision braking, not a good option in traffic. It braked, if you had to quickly go around someone in traffic. (almost got rear ended) Drivers seat is on the smaller side for someone with long legs. Touch pad screen hard to navigate when driving, especially fast forwarding a song, or trying to turn the radio down. Albiet you can use the steering wheel button. There are 3 different screens to look at, everything should be more centralized. It rarely understands voice commands. I'm pretty good with new technology, but this car is frustrating to use all its gadgets.

2015 Honda CRV EX-FWD

I debated for a long time after reading reviews detailing problems with vibration during operation of this vehicle. I've owned two Honda vehicles and I still drive one with 295,000 virtually trouble free miles. Since I've had good experiences with Honda I went ahead and purchased a 2015 CRV. I love this vehicle and have had no problems with vibration. It drives as smooth as silk. I've driven it on a long trip and also short in town errands. I am so happy I didn't let issues some customers are having sway me. I couldn't be happier with it. Update 18 months later. My 2015 CRV is still running smooth as silk and I've never had any vibration issues with it. The added features like back up camera and camera in right outside mirror have proved very useful. My gas mileage meets what is advertised and even exceeds it if I'm careful where I purchase my gas. Update 2 years later. My 2015 CRV still drives like a new one with no vibration issues. The only complaint I have is the original tires Honda put on the car. At 22,000 miles I just put a new set on. They had plenty of tread but were wearing uneven. I had noticed a slight difference in how it drove and that was the problem. New tires and again it drives very smoothly. I was disappointed to learn Honda only put the right side mirror in the 2015 and 2016 model. Its my favorite feature of the car. I thought about trading for a new one in a couple of years, but I don't think I can give up my camera. Four year update: I have just over 40,000 miles on my CRV and never had any vibration problems. The only thing I have done is required maintenance. The tires I put on at 22,000 miles are holding up well. Again, the only complaint I have is Honda should put better tires on vehicle. This is a great vehicle. By the way I still have the 2002 CRV as a "dogmobile" and still going strong at 315,000 + miles. Update 5 years: All I can say is I have not had one problem with my CRV. It still gets 32 - 33 MPG and drives the same as day I purchased it. So far the only maintenance it has needed is oil changes. As mentioned in earlier post original tires had to be replaced at 22000 miles but replacement tires are wearing well.

I love this car and had to review because of all the complaints that I saw on here. I bought the CRV to replace a 2013 Accord that I just never really fell in love with. The build quality on my car is excellent. I do recommend that you test drive the particular car that you are buying so that you are not concerned with the vibration issue that some are having. Mine does vibrate a little when completely stopped at a red light for a long period, but I only noticed it because of the comments on this forum. This slight vibration is due to a very low idle which is much better to have than one of those cars that turn off the engine at each stop.

Steering Wheel Vibration

At this point I would not recommend this vehicle. Let me state first this is my third Honda. My first two were a civic and a CRV. Held each from 12-15 years. I couldn't say enough about the quality and service from Honda. Repeatedly recommended them to friends and co-workers. But this 2015 CRV has serious issues with the vibration coming through the steering column. The best description is if the driver side tire is bad. The vibration is very noticeable in the steering wheel. Then somewhat in the seat. Didn't I notice while test driving? I tested the 2014. Ready to buy then I heard the about the improved 2015's coming out. With winter I bought the car too quick. Big mistake.

Have had my AWD 2015 CRV since October. When buying I had asked the salesman @ Stevens Point, Wi. Honda when the 16's were coming in. He stated in the spring. A month later the 16's were on the lot. So he lied to me to make room for 16's. This vehicle is made for those about 5'8" or less. It's a little cramped. When the front seat is all the way back you can not fold down the back seat all the way without hitting the back of the front seat. The AWD doesn't tell the driver when it's in AWD. Driver has no idea when the vehicle is in AWD. I am sure this is a decent vehicle for the city but if you live out in the country in WI, MN or other snowy states this is not the vehicle for you. My driveway has a small hill. When it's slippery out the front wheels spin. The AWD never kicks in. In other words, I don't actually know if I have AWD. The radio system isn't user friendly. The CD system behind the screen is a little weird. Mileage has been good getting between 32-35 on highway. 28.6 overall since owning.

CR-V AC Condenser Rip-off!!

Rebekah Conatser, 07/20/2015

I purchased a 2015 CR-V in April of 2015. I have always had Honda vehicles and have never been as disappointed as I am right now. On this past Friday afternoon, I got into my CR-V in 96 degree weather and my AC was not working. I immediately called Honda and made an appointment for the following morning. When I got home, my husband, who is a mechanic, checked it out just to see. He said the compressor was working and the belts were all running. So the sensor was sensing freon. Well we got to Honda the next morning, waited for 2 long hours, for them to say a rock or something hit my condenser and all my freon leaked out. And, of course, MY WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER IT. It will cost me $400 to replace all of this. They did offer a $100 discount since the car was so new, however, I asked how a dent in my condenser that is smaller than a dime could take out my AC in the 3 months I've had it. They said the condenser is made out of aluminum and is very fragile. There is NOTHING guarding this on the front of my car. I called the Honda Customer Service in my warranty book. The woman I spoke with flat out refused to reimburse me as well. I understand that an act of nature CAUSED this. However, if the condenser had been made out of stronger material or had protection covering it, this would never have happened!! I should not have to be replacing my AC after having my car for 3 months!!!

More and more issues coming up with every month

Bought this brand new on 12/31/2014. Traded in a 2012 Accord to get into something with all wheel drive and a slightly taller driving position. Shortly after purchasing the dreaded idle vibration started to occur. This issue alone would be enough for me to dissuade someone else from buying the vehicle. Then we noticed that during cold starts there seemed to be a metal on metal grinding noise coming from the engine. After doing some research this seems to be the VTC actuator which has been a well documented issue on the 2.4 engines for some time which Honda has still not yet fixed. Now after only three years there is rust forming on the inside of a couple doors from the water drain holes. This car has been a huge disappointment. Really frustrating because it gets fantastic fuel economy and is an overall practical vehicle. Would 100% recommend a different vehicle rather than this.

I cannot believe some of these reviewers who just accept that their CRV has a vibration to it. I have owned a lot of new cars in my life and do not accept a vehicle that vibrates as a "characteristic". I have taken my issue to CAMVAP (Canadian auto mobile vehicle arbitration) as my wife gets ill from the vibration on long trips. Do not buy this vehicle!

I bought the Honda CR-V 2015 in Nov, 2015. I felt vibration at stop on D. I did call the dealer in few days said will go away after 1000 miles. I took it to service center about 1500 miles, service center said we did not feel anything. Very disappointed. I took the suv for the second time when the miles at 3200 because the vibration getting worse. I did not put on park at service center, just left on D. I called the service consultant including the manager to feel the vibration. Everyone agreed, but when I went to pick up the suv they did not fix the issue said "this is the characteristic of the new CR-V". They even gave me in writing. UNBELIVABLE AND VERY DISAPPOINTED.

This is our first SUV. My wife test drove the Acura RDX but could not justify the $37k price tag. Then went to Honda dealer and the gave us a great trade in for her 2007 Civic. The car was loaded for $30k. The LED lights on the CRV look awesome. The front end is restyled nicely and not as bland. The back is almost the same except the chrome bar across. It rides like a pillow and corners great too. Gas mileage is amazing with the new fuel injected engine. New multifunction touchscreen radio is great. Also the additional display on top makes the car look high class. Leather seats are perforated and look of high quality. This is a very solid car, and I have owned VW's. Update: The CRV has a slight vibration now. It does not bother me that much so I don't want the dealer to take it apart. Wonder if premium fuel would solve the issue. Update: The car is still flawless. Not noticing any vibration lately. Update: It’s been over 6 years and the car still drives like new. I don’t think it will ever change.

I just purchased a used 2015 crv exl and the vibration issue is happening to me. It happens when in gear and stopped at a light. Does not seem to happen in other driving conditions. I am not sure if I should bring it into Honda as I have read that people complained that after the fix their gas mileage went down. Very disappointed in Honda. And I am very disappointed in the Honda sealer since they should have know about the problem and addressed it prior to selling it.

I have had MAJOR problems with this vehicle and EXTREMELY poor support from Honda in getting it fixed. I bought this car in December by June, it had 3,000 miles on it and the a/c didn't work - in Texas - in the summertime. This was the first time I heard "it seems to be fine to me. Let's compare it to another 2015 CRV." I have heard that phrase EVERY SINGLE TIME I have taken this vehicle in for service. Each time I have replied "I don't need to compare it to another. I know how this car was performing X days ago and it's not performing to that level today." And, I am promptly dismissed. This exact scenario has taken place at EVERY dealership for EVERY service issue. And, the service issues have been many: the windshield wipers don't always work, the sound system works intermittently, the dashboard lights work sporadically, the windows leak, and the ever present a/c problems- in Texas. I believe that Honda once made a good vehicle. I also believe that Honda changed something after the 2014 model year. Now, anybody I speak with who owns 2015, 2016 or 2017 Honda expresses major disappointment with the vehicle's quality. I won't be purchasing another Honda. I have now owned this car for 3 years. I'm still having difficulties. It has 27,000 on it and now the back seatbelt doesn't work. It's just me. Nobody sits in the back. So, it's not from over use. I don't even know how long it has been broken. I'm sticking to my original assessment, don't buy a Honda. Four years, 34,000 miles and still the issues continue. The computer radio goes haywire. Sometimes you can't change the stations, sometimes the stations continually change themselves and the only way to stop it is to turn the car off. Turning the radio off won't do it. Still having issues with the seat moving on it's own. I'll be driving and I'll feel the seat start to move. Still having dashboard light malfunctions, still having windshield wiper issues. The reason I still own the car is because I pay cash for my cars and I haven't saved the money yet to replace this car. At the rate of car price increases, I'm stuck with this crap car for probably another 3 years. As long as Edmund's sends me requests for updates, I'll continue to report on this car. As my father-in-law used to say "you couldn't run fast enough to give me another Honda." Five years, 42,000 miles and now it's developed that "CRV shake" that so many others have talked about. I had considered myself lucky that I at least didn't have that shake, but now I've got it to. It popped up right around 40K miles. Also, the seats are so badly stained that folks comment on it to me "WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR SEATS?" And, I have to tell them "I sat on it with a wet bathing suit." A wet bathing suit folks! I wish I could share a picture. And, I had a towel and a floor mat between the wet bathing suit and the seat. Also, the gas mileage has gone down considerably. I have friends with Toyotas who get 30-35 mpg, I'm down to 21. While I've grown accustomed to this car, I don't think I'll ever learn to like it.

Apparently, I got one without the vibration issue. I already have 65,000 trouble-free miles on this vehicle and I have never noticed a vibration issue. It has been the second-best vehicle I've ever owned, with the best being my 2005 CRV with 290,000 miles on it. I'm sold on Honda quality. And, bonus, the 2015 was built in the U.S.

2015 CRV Progressively deteriorating

Really love the car but getting scared off it. Had it at the dealer to be told there is nothing wrong with it but it shakes so bad above 68 mph, I'm about ready to blow my top. Bought a new set of tires about 9 months ago (crv only had about 30K miles) hoping it would alleviate the problem and even went through the pains of having the tires true'd twice (process in which they shave the rubber off the tire to make them round while mounted to the car) with no luck, dealer wanted to blame the tire manufacture so I went and bought another set of tires, this time I bought some really high end tires but got the same effect, steering wheel shaking like a wheel is hopping. Ride is so poor... Really think I won't buy another one of these, love the car but can't deal with this anymore, come on Honda, step up to the base here, the touring is the Cadillac of the crvs, think I would rather had gave my money for what I spent on this to someone who was selling a 1980s Yugo than you, at least with those, they road like a Cadillac!

April 2015 This is my third CRV and I have always been pleased. My new 2015 CRV vibrates and Honda knows about the problem, but has no idea what to do about it. Honda will not guarantee it will not have any long term effect. So I have a new $30,000 car with a problem that Honda cannot fix, sadly disappointed with Honda. My local dealer has been excellent despite not knowing what to do. February 2017 It took Honda 8/9 months (September 2015) to find and repair the problem, since then the car has been excellent. Also Honda reimbursement with 6 months of car payments ($1800) because of the inconvenience.

I purchased my Honda CRV2015 on Dec.2014.I thought i was getting really good deal.It never even crossed my mind to do research, didnt think twice about about buying it on the spot either. After taking it out on a test drive and everthing was working smoothly,i took it home. However, everytime i arrive at a stop light/sign,the car vibrated vigorusly when i start to accelerate.I took it back to the dealer and at first they refused to acknowlege the problem I was experiencing, but later they admitted to receiving complaints about the same issue. They told me that they would give a call once they find a solution to it and fix the car.I didn't expect this much hassle after buying a Brand new car. >:(

I have brought the new 2015 Honda CRV in NJ and from the day one I noticed a vibration on the front seats, I report that to local dealer and American Honda. Dealer checked it with other new 2015 models and confirmed that this is with all Honda CRV 2015 Models. I reported the same to American HOnda and they told me GET LOST. The vibration is not always but few times but is strong that you can literally feel it at the back. Very sad that HONDA put my feedback under the carpet and washed off their hands with there responsibility. I told them that the vibration is so strong that my driving get distracted and I get a feel of discomfort but they did not listen to me and closed my case :-(

At 89000 still no problems. Outside of regular maintenance and tires, there have been no surprises. I am still on the original brakes and replaced the tires @ 67k miles. Paint is holding up well but I have it washed frequently. I use a battery maintainer once a week which seems to be extending the life of the 4 year old battery. I have noticed no change in the mpg I replace my own cabin and air filters bought from Amazon. I am 82 now so the Honda may outlast me. Looking at an EV replacement but don't feel I can justify parting with this great vehicle.

CRV 2015 is not a safe car

Brand new CRV on the third trip from home. The hesitation/vibration problem is noticeable (intermittent shuddering as if a wheel is out of alignment and/or the vehicle has just hit a patch of black ice, but related to the newly designed CRV transmission, a problem common to all CRV 2015 that does not yet have a fix) but what really stunned me was a sudden EXTREMELY HIGH REV when going down a small hill. I was braking lightly at the time. It happened again a week later going up a small hill without brake. It didn't last very long, but the engine raced so completely out of control that the vehicle did not feel safe. The noise was incredible. I returned the car to the dealership.

Honda knows about the vibration issue with transmission/motor match-up- when I talked with Honda of North America, all they said was they "were working on it". I have driven Hondas for over 20 years and relied to heavily on my past experiences with Hondas in buying this clunker. Still no fix for the vibration issue -don't even bother to ask-same answer, after 1.5 years. Everything else about my CRV is just fine. Spartan interior and functional. Nav system is counterintuitive and not easy to program., you get used to it. Still think it does not live up to its hype-a lot of other choices for 33k(touring model).

I bought my CR-V about a month ago and now have around 1,000 miles on it. I keep reading about a vibration issue with this model, but I'm very uncertain as to why people are saying this. Let me assure you, there are no cars on the market that don't have even just a little vibration when idling. My CR-V has some lunging sounds when driving at lower speeds, but that's because the transmission is shifting into a higher gear to improve fuel economy. Please don't let some of these "vibration" complaints stop you from buying such a great car. Go drive one for yourself and you will see it rides and drives wonderfully!

Long time Honda owner and i finally decided to get my first SUV. Did my research, saved my Money. Naturally my pick was Honda CRV- I can't believe Honda built this car. It has bad vibrations when stopped and idling, it has bad engine/ transmission shuddering when I accelerate. Even at highway speeds it shudders at random intervals. This is a big problem. Spent almost $ 30,000 for this??? Honda responds " Vibrations are characteristic of the car". Strange, didn't see that description in the brochure at the dealership. Honda needs to acknowledge this problem, find a solution, and apologize to me and all those 2015 CRV Owners.

Smooth powerful for the engine class. Love it. Not sure why others are experiencing vibration. Love the new style and design too. Quiet ride. Wish the horn was louder and a bit more padded on the doors for the elbows. After a year. Still lovin my CRV. Couple of improvements I'd like to see. Opening tailgate after raining causes water to accumulate and creates this water fall effect from the rear bumper. If your windows are open on the hwy and you use wipers with fluid some of the excess eventually comes into the driver window. A note about the ECO mode, it causes the acceleration to be dampened. It seems to try to conserve fuel by eliminating the jerkiness of people's feet on the accelerator, which causes rpms to fluctuate drastically. This mode reduces that fluctuation. However it hinders the acceleration of the vehicle. I used it for the first 3-4 months but I've turned it off since. I just am more mindful of my rpms. I would like a more useful tech. I bought the navigation app and cables. So not worth it. Navigation Apps on the iPhone 6+ are better, more accurate and have better interfaces. They need to upgrade to Apple CarPlay. The audio sounds tone better in clarity and tone when playing through the dock cable and not blue tooth. The Bluetooth is decent but the quality is so much better via cable into the CRV's USB port. If you're plugged in choose dock connector for your audio output from your iPhone. One big gripe of mine, while nominal, it was annoying. The steering wheel, the item you interact most in the car, just felt slippery barely any grip, the texture was unpleasant, and more like a sanded floor texture. They couldn't make it feel more like leather or some TPU product? Sheesh! Any fixed it by getting a nice steer wheel cover that has a tad of tack and actually matches the interior. Now it's the perfect feel. Oh the interior of the door panels flex too much for me. That should be padded and rigid. Fuel economy is wonderful. Usually 26 mpg per tank, with more hwy about 27-28 per tank, more city 25.5 mpg per tank.

Bluetooth - Voice Command prompt randomly turns on

JBB, 09/12/2015

Purchased 12/2014. Past couple of months the voice command prompt (that lists the commands you can use) randomly turns on. First time it happened I thought it was because I was using my phone, next time I wasn't touching my phone. The frequency that this happens went from once every few days, to a couple of times a day. I took the car to the Honda dealer, they checked and this is not a software update issue. Taking it back this week to leave it so they can call Honda Tech support to see if this has been reported before. Wondering if this is related to the issues with Apply iPhones and the Honda Bluetooth? Air conditioning takes forever to cool off on a hot day (I think I was spoiled by how good my past two Toyotas cooled off). Have not had any vibration issues. Hate the layout of the fan buttons and temperature control knobs. Wish they had reversed the layout and made the fan speed the knobs and the temperature control the buttons. Sound quality is really bad. Definitely not getting the advertised gas mileage (26 local/33 highway), the only time I've gotten close to the 33 highway was on a cross-country road trip the month I bought the car where I hit 30mpg. Average highway has been 26, if I do a lot of local driving it's under 24mpg (I always leave it in e-con mode). Lane assist, conceptually a great idea, but on long trips, when you're tired, it can actually lead to more fatigue in your arms with the constant correction to stay in the lane where the car thinks you should be. LOVE the blind-spot camera! This should be standard on all vehicles! HUGE safety benefit for highway driving.

I purchased the 2015 Honda CR-V EX AWD on July 2, 2015. Previously I had a 2010 CR-V EX so I had a very good means of comparison. Initially I was concerned regarding reviews/reports of excessive vibrations with the new CVT transmission. I can say categorically after 800+ miles that the 2015 CR-V with the CVT does not vibrate any more than my previous 2010 CR-V EX AWD did. The features and functions of the new 2015 EX model are very nice. First the acceleration is excellent. Fuel mileage has increased from 21-22 for the 2010 to 28.5+ for the 2015 model. The backup camera is a real plus. The radio controls take a bit to get used to, however considering I'm moving from the old analog radio with buttons to a touch screen it's very nice. Overall I believe Honda has produced an excellent vehicle that will more than meet my needs. 7/25/2017: Overall very pleased after 19,500 miles. Had 1 recall for the transmission to update software. My biggest complaint is the original tires were basically worn out at 19,000 miles. Honda should go back to using Michelin tires. 1/29/2019: During the past 5 months or so fuel mileage has plummeted from 27+ city to 15-19 city. Replaced the Air Filter and ran multiple tanks of gas with fuel injector cleaner and cleaned the Mass Airflow Sensor all without improvement. Discovered that the vehicle was not warming up properly. Lack of heat and gauge showing always cold. Investigation has shown either the Thermostat is faulty or something else is wrong. Recently replaced the Radiator Cap ($10 at Advanced Auto) to be sure the system maintains 16lbs pressure. Unbelievably the problem with taking forever to get up to temperature appears to have been solved or at least significantly improved. Now I have to verify the fuel mileage has improved. 8/12/2019: The issue with the fuel mileage has never fully recovered. Replacement of the thermostat did fix the warm up problem. However the mileage around town has never recovered past 24 mpg. Prior the thermostat issue the CRV would average 27+. Overall it is a very good vehicle. However Honda should fix things that are under warranty.

2015 CRV has left my wife stranded twice with less than 60000 miles. Battery gave no warning, died completely at 30000 miles. Due to remote location, was forced to get nearest available battery, so I could not get the remaining warranty on the Honda battery. Transmission sensor module failed and transmission would not move at 62000 miles. Drive train immediately locked up as a safety standard, to prevent driver from destroying transmission. When I bought the car new, the salesman told me that the tires only last from 30000 to 40000 miles. Salesman was correct. Passenger side windshield cracked for no apparent reason while car was in garage. My research on internet showed that many 2015-2018 CRV ‘s have cracked windshields with no apparent reason. Honda has decided not to address this problem. Please check out windshield problems on CRV’s on the Internet before purchasing a new CRV. Unsafe vehicle. No excuse for a new Honda to leave any one stranded, especially a woman. Had to drive to her each time. Honda is installing cheap batteries, cheap tires and CVT transmissions in all of their new cars. CVT’s are nothing but expensive junk. They cost $4000 to $7000 dollars, not including removal and replacement. CVT’s cannot be rebuilt because they normally explode internally when they fail. Honda failed to inform buyers of this little detail. If CVT’s are so great, like Honda claims, why are all car manufacturers refusing to put them in trucks? This should be a warning that Honda is cutting quality. Honda is trying to live on their past reputation. Won’t be long before buyers will see this. Look elsewhere for a quality SUV. I have updated this review to 3 stars instead of two because the car now has 105,000 miles with no more problems. I still am convinced that CVT transmissions are junk.

Honda AWD LX - Good Mileage, Bad Dealer

The Honda AWD LX is the plain Jane model with AWD. Mileage was good - around town in the low to mid 20's and highway upper 20's to 30 (about 29). There are a few complaints: Road noise was high on trips; the intermittent wiper is one speed; restricted view towards the rear (both sides feel like you have some body work in the way). My LAST complaint would be the dealership - bad vibes, bad attitude, hard to get in - they think of you as a mark, not a client.

Great Car After Vibration Fix was Made

I was very happy with the 2015 CRV until I noticed the car had vibration problems at idle, between 20-30mph and when accelerating. The more I drove it, the more I hated it because I was very annoyed that I just spent over $23K for a car I did not like driving. Honda did come up with a software fix that was applied to my car, and Honda nailed it!! All the issues went away and I now enjoy driving the car. Now that I also understand how the CVT transmission works, I realize that the lack of gears shifting makes the drive perfectly smooth. The car has a lot to offer for the money, and I would recommend it as long as you make sure the vibration problems get corrected. 2017 -- 2 year update: The car still has a vibration at low speeds.. It is something I have just learned to live with. But everything else about the car is great. I have not had any problems and overall enjoy driving the CRV.

Impressed with Honda

So far (700+ miles in), this has been a great car. I've gone from a pickup getting 18 mpg to 30.5 (all city driving) mpg on my last fill up. I am a big person, but the front seat is very comfortable. I love having multiple adjustments for the seat and steering wheel. I have had open heart surgery so ease of seating, adjustment of steering wheel, and getting in/out, are now top issues for me. Plus by getting and SUV, I don't feel I've lost much in getting rid of a truck as far as hauling stuff around. I never towed anything anyhow. The vibration issue is non-existent in this car. I've read about it and seen videos on it. It just feels like a regular 4 cylinder to me. I don't doubt that some folks are getting jostled, though. But mine is just fine. Over time I do wonder about the cloth seats. They are very plush and very soft. I am concerned that over time they will start to show their age, but I'll deal with that when I have to. So far, I've been very impressed with the overall fit and finish of the car. This is my first Honda and they were never really on my radar. But after deciding to get out of a truck and shopping around, I shopped Chevy, Ford, Nissan and Mazda. The CR-V just made sense. It's a more comfortable ride with better standard features for the price. There is a bit of a learning curve regarding the touchscreen radio, but tinker around for a few minutes and you'll have it figured out. We were very happy with how we were treated at our Honda dealership and I'm sure this will be our new place to shop.

Really like the vehicle, except for the vibration issue so many others are noting. Honda, please get a fix out for this as soon as possible. Notice after car has fully warmed up, you stop in "drive" and you are not running accessories like heater. It is much more vibration than a typical 4 cylinder. It does seem like the cause is idling too low. Otherwise, the car is really nice.

When I bought the CRV three months ago, forewarned by other reviewers about the vibration issue I test drove two CRVs. Neither CRV had the vibration and I chose the CRV that seemed to run better even though the color was my second choice. I live in rural hilly PA and consistently get 30+mpg. in the ECO mode. I traded in a good running 2011 Honda CRV EX AWD for this LX AWD. The LX is quicker, quieter , better handling and the seats are more comfortable. The 2015 is a better car and my 2011 was a good car. Test drive before you buy.

Updating my review. Love the car, cargo area is great, drives well, super comfortable. If there was anything con I’d have to say the navigation is not user friendly and the wind noise from the passenger window is less than desirable. ————-/////————/////———— The first month was rough (see initial review referenced below). No problems since the initial problem mentioned below. Since then I have been getting used to the noise and slight vibration. A nice surprise/perk was the dealer changed out my vehicle for another vehicle same make/model but WITH GPS. The cost was abou the same (within $19). It's rare for this to happen but the circumstances were such that the dealer wanted a happy customer and not one that was misled and thought they were purchasing something and learned later driving off the lot that they did not. So yes, we are happy customer now. Initial Review: Pointed after buying first Honda 1 week ago. Took a 300 mile one way trip and the tire warning light came on after only 700 miles on the car. Check the manual and check the tires and adjusted inflation got on the road and the rear tire went flat. Before stopping at a tire company as an emergency stop we called the dealer - Scott Robinson Honda of Torrance, California - where we purchased the car and the general manager advised that the tires were not covered under the 7 year warranty all maintenance paid contract. Say what? This is not normal wear and tear you would expect a brand new car to be able to take a simple 300 mi trip (one way) and return home safely. We also noticed the car vibrating at 65 70 miles per hour speed which isn't the main concern but it definitely doesn't make for a happy customer. When we purchased the car we thought we were getting the navigation with it our fault we didn't test it and come to find out no navigation so - live and learn - do not leave any dealership without thoroughly checking every feature of your car!

EX-L Vibrations

New 2015 CR-V bought from Piazza Honda of Pottstown PA December 2014. Regular and severe vibrations at 2000 RPM especially at 40-50 mph, or at 1000 PRM at lower speed; random vibrations at other RPM and speed. Very noise. Really regret not getting Toyota RV4, my initial choice.

This car is better than a horse and carriage. The seating position is good. The ride is good considering what it is. The is heated seats in my model. I swapped a mustang for this one. I miss Ford Sync. The 2015 CRV Ex isn't a fan of Android.... yet. As for the vibration yes there is one. Not a huge deal breaker but you will normally feel it at a stop while in drive. I think it's really more like a Mercedes comfort accessory.

Disappointed with my decision

I did a lot of research into what car I wanted to invest in and am overall very disappointed with my decision. I'm not a huge car person, nor do I pay much attention to these kinds of things. However, for how much I spent on this car, I would have expected a much better value. First, the gas mileage is really poor. It guzzles my gas and there is no chance that I get 22 mpg. My prior car had the same MPG and would last me at least 2x than what I get now. Second, the car rattles and shakes very easily, especially at high speeds. Third, the overall smoothness to the car. It is hard to drive and keep it smooth without jerking at any speed. The breaking is poor as well. Lastly, the stereo system is not clear and precise. For me, Toyota and Honda have always been safe choices. For this to be a Honda and give me this kind of trouble is disappointing. I'm going to take a look at my options to see how I can trade it in and not lose a ton of money on it.

I have been waiting to get a new vehcile for awhile and had it narrowed down to the rav4 or the crv. After test driving the crv with the new cvt and direct injection. There was no comparison for the value that offers. It's quiet, reliable and gets good gas mileage for being the AWD model. Do yourself a favor and go test drive one. I have more standard features suxh as Bluetooth audio and a backup camera then a bmw 3 series. Also about the cvt vibrations, they are hardly noticeable and not at all a dealbreaker.

Vibration and shuddering

Just picked up my new 2015 CRV EX AWD a couple of weeks ago. Noticed right away that when it warmed up and hit certain speeds, taking foot off gas and then lightly depressing the pedal and there was a shuddering like the car was in the wrong gear. Took to the dealer and service manager came for a test drive and told me that was normal! Crap! No other new vehicle I have had did this. I thought I was buying quality by buying Honda, wrong!
