Used 2006 Honda Civic Si Consumer Reviews
Let 'er scream
With about 25,000 miles on the car, and having read most of the online reviews of this car I wanted to add my two cents worth. The car is great as a small performance car. Handling is superb, it is quite fast. The two tiered dash takes a lot to get used to. The throttle hang that many complained of began to disappear at around 15,000 miles and now is mostly non-existent unless she's cold. The third gear notchyness that many complained of was noticeable when the car was cold during the first winter but this winter has not appeared. Honda has a new gear lube for this tranny for winter driving. Overall, the car is a gas to drive, is very comfortable for two, very high build quality.
Best Bang for Your Buck.
Prior to this, I would've never considered owning any foreign car... Performance: This car is zippy, even if you're not hitting VTEC. It rockets, very quickly, to 60, and blows most competition away. Comfort: The pseudo-suede seats are comfortable, but I wish they offered a leather option. There is no lumbar support, which I really miss, though the height adjustment is a nice touch. The middle hump in the backseat is slightly uncomfortable. Economy: Good on gas at average 23/32, but requires premium fuel only. Fun to Drive: The best part. Amazing handling (second only to RX-8, that I've driven), great road feel, smooth ride, tight, responsive steering. Amazing short throw shifter.
458k miles and going
My SI is still going strong with the original motor. I use this car for my commute to work. 16 years and the Vtec still kicks

Sweet little Si
I bought my 1st Honda Si in 1987, and loved everything about it. Sold it with over 200,000 miles and the engine was still perfect. The 2006 gives me the same feeling. This engine is the sweetest engine you will find. It loves to rev, and the sound is pure music. Currently have over 3,000 miles on mine and have enjoyed every mile. It's really amazing this day and age that you can find a sporty, well made, did I mention "fun" car for low 20's. You really need to drive one to know what I'm talking about. Kudo's to Honda for making a great car. Jim in Tennessee
It's a blast
So I was not really looking to get a Civic until I drove the new Si. I have had classic Chevys over the years and they have all been over 300 hp. I know the the SI is not 300 but it still has guts for a 4 banger. The handling of this car is great right off the lot. I have yet to change anything to do with the suspension and I don't belive that I will. I did put 18" wheels on it with better tires. It made a pretty big difference.
