95 Civic
Had my civic for 14 years and 270,000 miles later it still going strong. Very reliable and easy to work on. Worth every penny.
Honda: The way to go!!!!
Over all a great car!!! Fun to drive, hugs every turn tight, GREAT gas mileage. VETC engine is great and has plenty of power in the higher RPM's. 5 speed manual is the way to go with the 4 cylinder engine!!! Great Buy!!!
Just sold it and now miss it!
We just bought a 2003 Honda Odyssey because we simply outgrew the smaller civic. It's been my wife's car for almost 7 years. We have never had any problems. The interior held up extremely well. I loved the way it handled. After 120,000 miles, everything worked and the car almost looked like new when we sold it.
Little Green Machine
I bought this car new and have loved it ever since. I have owned other vehicles during this time, but my little green machine never failed me in 11 yrs. Two nights ago, I was driving home and someone hit me head on. The crumple zones worked like they are supposed to and the airbags kept me from being injured. I always told my husband I would keep this car until the body rotted off - but it wasn't happening. The officers and tow truck drivers all commented on how good a condition the car was in (except for the now smashed front.) It had 161,000 miles on it and I finally just did the belts a few months ago. I am going to miss this car more than the Mustang I traded it for....
1995 Honda Civic finally retired
I bought this car used in 1997 and have driven it until the wheels fall off. The odometer stopped working almost a year ago at 229,900 miles; it's probably pushing 300,000 now. Great car, never let me down. Replaced CV boots/joints, O2 sensor, radiator and had work done on AC timing belt and seals. I can't say enough about how well designed the car is, how great it handled and how nice it was to have no car payment for 9 years! It's hemorrhaging oil now, so I'm going to lay it to rest and get a new civic.
greatest car i ever owned
this is the best car i have ever owned! to bad some chick crashed into me and it got totaled! i loved everything about the car. the only thing it lacked was its 1.6 liter vtec engine putting out only 125 horses, put with a few mods it does fairly well. great mileage, great looks, nice and comfortable! i had the car from day one and i would drive it as hard as possible and it never had a problem.
My fun little baby
I bought this car at 108000 miles, and it was still running smooth. Everything in the car was manual... tranny, windows, locks. the previous owner recently replaced the clutch and belts, so it has smooth shifting and runs nicely. I put wider tires on it and it just a great drive every time i go out.
1995 Honda Civic Review
Great reliability, fuel economy. Would highly recommend as a used car.
Most reliable car
Bought it new and still running. The sad part is a recent car accident may make me part with it. Otherwise, I planned to drive it until the odometer started at 0 again.
superior in it's class
I had thought used Hondas were overpriced. Then I got lucky and found a '95 EX coupe/automatic that was a bargain. Now I gladly pay the premium to buy Honda. Civics are well designed, well built. The EX is sporty, economical, reliable. If I were to give this car a report card, it would get all A's, with the one glaring weakness being very poor traction in the snow (special compound snow tires addressed that issue). In sum, the only way you can go wrong buying a used Civic is to overpay for it.
Red Civic
I bought this car used in July as I knew the owner. It gets thirty plus mpg but I have gotten over 40 mpg on a trip. So far have put a set of front brakes and rotors, a muffler and adjusted the valves. It has 170000 miles and feels like it's good for that many more.
Canadian Si Coupe - USA EX Coupe
I just bought this car with about 250,000km's on it and it still runs like a beauty. Came with K&N filter and a could air intake which gives it a bit of a boost on takeoffs and keeps the engine really cool, even though winter does that pretty well too. Trunk came with a bit of a puddle in it around the wheelwell which I was told was because of condensation even though there is a drain plug inside it. Has a lot of pep and thank god I bought this one in standard, its really built for it though the gas tends to stick a bit when releasing the clutch which could be fixed by altering the timing a bit.
'95 Civic EX Coupe
What can I say? It's a Honda. It's a great car. When I bought mine, it had 85k on it, now it has around 130k and running strong. Starts every day, runs like a beast. The thing I like is the amount of aftermarket parts. The B16A should've been offered.Even though you can get a 5-spd, more power could have been nice although it has a decent amount. It could've had a little more room in the back seats, but nontheless, it's comfortable. I drive pretty hard sometimes and I've --NEVER-- had any problems with it. I just take it and get the oil changed every 3k miles and have things serviced. It's a very sporty, well-built car and I would --- HIGHLY---- recommend this car to anyone.
Honda Civic
Very noisy and rattles constantly. Heat and air don't work well. Does not get very good gas mileage like they claim. Carpet coming away from door panels, exposing "shell." Good things: the rear- end is hard to mess up. I have been "rear-ended" twice and there are only scratches.
Great Value
I have owned my civic for 10 1/2 years. This has been one of the best purchases ever. I have had no problems with my car. The only work that has needed to be done is basic maintenance and an axle replacement. I hate to part with it but I am thinking of buying a new one.
1.6 liters is pleanty of engine
This is a very peppy car. The manual transmission is smooth and the routine maintenance is easy since the fluid resevoirs are very accessible. Extremely reliable. Still gets 35 miles/gallon.
Love this ride
I purchased this car new in 1995. I never had an issue with this car. It was even good in the snow. I have owned other cars since I purchased my Civic, but I never kept any of them. The guys at the garage that just recently replaced the original belts said I could easily get another 100,000 miles from this car as long as I keep up with the oil changes every 3000 miles. It currently has 161,600. The body was in great shape until a few days ago when I got hit head on. The crumple zones and airbags worked well. Unfortunately, insurance has listed it as a loss. I am going to miss this car more than the Mustang I traded for it. I will definitely buy another Honda.
AWESOME
My experiences with my 1995 Honda Civic EX Coupe have been wonderful. My car has never let me down. My car now makes over 200 Wheel Horse Power and it still runs great. And no I am not a kid who puts a big grapefruit launcher on my exhaust, and I don't have a giant spoiler either. I am an adult who likes to drag race.
A good "every day" car!!
First, I must apologise for the not so good quality of my english... So, my '93 Chevy broked down last april and I bought this 150 000 Km Honda Civic knowing that its not a sport car, but an economic one! It's realy good at what it is suposed to do! But, I love powerfull cars... so... The 102hp/98lbs.ft. is not satisfying my need for speed! but she's good with my wallet! The most fun to have with a Civic is... at the gas station! but, it still handle very well and, with a manual transmission, it is possible to pass the slow ones on the highway!
Keeps going and going
Bought this 5 years ago for daughter in HS. She has put about 40,000 miles on it. It has been extremely reliable, and we have only had to fix routine maint items. Was in major hailstorm, so repaired all dents, repainted and added chrome / alloy 16 inch wheels. Also added Sony CD player, new speakers, and auto start / remote locks. The car still looks new, and interior is holding up amazing for a 12 year old car. My daughter still likes the car, especially since it was repainted and customized, adding remote starter. Still gets 32 MPG on highway, low insurance costs, and hardly any repair costs. Not sure how much more you could ask of a car. The v-tech engine still runs great.
Good Car
Passenger side front seat-back broke off on right side.
ALL I CAN SAY IS RELIABILITY
I purchased my Honda back in 1998 with 35000 miles on it. I now have 85000 miles on this. The body works rusts a bit but with the money you save from having to repair major "under the hood" problems, you could get a new paint job. Passed inspection all 5 years with only needing tires...(too good to be true).....
One of the greatest
The 1995 Honda civic is one of the greatest cars ever made. They are easy to maintain and work on. Only minor work has been needed for mine. Oil changes, tune ups, brakes, tires are the only things that it has needed. I gave it a custom paint job since the original paint faded. One of the car's faults was the paint but everything else is great. It's fun to drive - very reliable and awesome in gas. If the American automobile industry made cars like this, they would not be bankrupt. I will not buy another car that is not a civic. For now I'll take care of mine because it takes care of me. I think it will run forever. I changed the timing belt and waterpump just to be safe, and it might run another 200,000 miles...
Great Vehicle
Riding a 1995 Honda Civic Ex Coupe is pleasurable. Its interior comfort is great and its performance is almost excellent. The EX model is powerful though lacks much horsepower. It should have brought a twin cam Vtec system. I've been a couple of years with it and had not a single problem with it. It has a beautiful exterior design because of its sportish, modern design. Overall Ill rate it excellent
Awesome Car.
I am the owner of a modded 95 D16z6 SOHC coupe. All's I have to say is the D series motors that come Stock in this car can be really fast. There are many bolt-ons and also Turbo and Superchargers that they make for this car. I would advise looking into that.
great car
the best car i've ever owned. replaced brake pads once, timing belt once (as a precautionary measure) and tires twice. have had no mechanical problems with the vehicle at all. did not have rustproofing and wax it once a year and still have no rust. would not hesitate to buy another.
love my little civic
When i bought my Civic 2 months ago it had 107,000 miles on it. the car, when new, had a proposed 125hp, i had the car dyno'd after a few upgrades and it topped off at 141hp @ 6800RPMs. not bad for a >100k mile car. my only problem is that the automatic tranny changes gears roughly...although this is a known problem with this model civic...and some auto tranny lube and conditioner helps dramatically.
The lil engines that could
I got my Civic Ex 4 door for graduation is 1995. Before that I had a 1991 Civic Lx with over 200k on it. My 95 has 122,000 miles on it currently. As with Honda/Acura, just maitenence and oil changes. I currently have another Honda product, and a Ford SUV(tow Civic to the track). I circuit race the 95 Ex. I have replaced the original drivetrain with one of out a 94 Acura Integra GSR. The car just begs to be driven hard. Feels like a very fast go cart. I pushing about 202 hp at the wheels.
it keeps going and going and going
I love my civic, I have driven it across the country. It now has 208,000 mile and is still going. Just in the last year has it begun to need repairs. (Head work, air compressor, rear door interior)I am looking for a new car and hope my next car is as good as this one has been.
95 Honda Civic
This car is fun, comfortable, reliable, awesome. One of the best compact cars of all time
Still a honda fan
this is our second honda, and we love it. It runs great, drives and rides great, and is just great in general. The cup holder placing is kind of lame, though, but otherwise it's just right.
Bring Back The Economical Hatchbacks!
I've had this car since 1997, and the previous owner was going to do an engine swap, but I stopped him by offering a reasonable amount of money. I can tell you that I do not regret buying this car at all. I love how people with gas-guzzling SUVs get surprised at how much this car can carry. Since now, it has been trouble free, and it is very simple and cheap to maintain. Seats are still comfortable. It's environment friendly. I even sold my 97 BMW M3 just to keep my Civic VX. It may not be as fast, but i'd rather have a safer, reliable, cleaner, more fuel economical car that promises to start every time you turn the key!
not alot of luck
We did not have a good experience with this one. It sits too low in front and was forever coming apart because it got stuck on those cement parking lot stoppers. It was always needing new tires because the tires are so small. It was totaled in a little accident because the front end is so low. I just slightly banged into the Honda Accord in front of me and it was crushed quite a bit. It is now junk! Never again. No more Honda Civics for us.
95 Honda Civic EX
CV joints were the only thing (other than brakes and tires) I replaced on this car.
Civic
I have had it about nine months. So far no problems. Bought it used with 115000 miles, had the timming belt changed and all maintenance done right after I bought it.
I love my Honda
I bought my car last year and have put well over 30k. The guy I bought it from figured it must be getting old at 230k for miles. Now at 266k it still goes and goes. I had to put a transmission in it when I got it. (which I got for $140 used and installed only into it less that $500). All I ever have to do is put oil in it .
Perfect Car
I couldn't be more happy with my Civic. It is a blast to drive and looks excellent. The car has 94000+ miles on it and has never had any of the original parts replaced! It is excellent on gas. Went 313 miles on one full tank of 87 unleaded. Parts are cheap as is the maintanence. I have a 5spd manual and the throttle delivery is fine on freeways. Enjoy your Honda. It won't treat you bad. Just watch out for shady salesmen and get a good clean, mechanically sound car no matter what you buy.
Best car everrr!
Purchased the car from my brother 2 years ago. A few things were done to it including an engine swap from a japanese civic SiR-II(170HP) and cloth seats from a 2001 Integra, as well as 2001 Integra GS-R rims. It is amazing on gas averaging about 40mpg hwy and has alot of oomph when I need it. I use it to commute to my job about 26 miles a day. I use synthetic oil and change oil as suggested as well as spark plugs. I have had no problems with the car as of yet. I love the looks of the car. Very unique... Honda really should put out a new hatchback model. I wont be getting rid of this car for a long long time. Exterior is stock except for coilovers and fresh paintjob. I get alot of compliments
Love my Honda
Excellent driver, loves to be driven at the limit and handles well. Not a long- drive car (a little noisy, needs better insulation). Absolutely trouble-free!
Nice Automobile
I love my Honda Civic. It gets excelent gas mileage about 37-38mpg.
A super little car
I LOVE this car. It's sporty, fun to drive and has been very reliable. For fuel economy, it's wonderful. Although mpg varies with season, temperatures and type of driving, I have very consistently gotten approximately 32mpg as an average of city and highway. Sometimes more, occasionally less. It's a sharp little car, especially in red!
civic are great, but better if stick
I needed a car and without hesitation I bought a civic, too bad it wasn't ex. I bought the car 3 months ago, and everything is great, except for that it does not bring a clock and tachometer. My auto civic is great, but after driving it as a stick-shift it runs even better. The interior is great as well as the body. Too bad Honda is moving away from sleek-looking cars to building spaceships on wheels. But if I had to buy another car it would definitely be a 1992-00 Honda.
Simple, Efficient, Comfortable
Since day 1, this machine ran like a dream. Its independent Coil over suspension gives it a soft ride over ridged bumps and yet stiff enough not to flip when taking quick corners. Mine was in pretty ruff shape, the dash board was all broken because somebody wanted a stock radio, the wiper blade switch was busted, and the exhaust system. I installed a Cat-back exhaust on mine, not for show but because I don't want to be robed of performance from the garbage muffler that was on there. Has surprisingly more room then my last car, the power windows are a plus, for me! The underbelly of the car was coated with Rhino Lining, NO RUST! quarter panels are almost gone! Big trunk!
First car
My parents bought me this car just one month ago, and I'm already thrilled with it. The ride is excellent, the engine zippy, and the fuel economy is perfect for a teenager without a job, like me. The power windows are a little creaky, but no problems so far. Also, two hubcaps fell off, but that's most likely because CarMax didn't fasten them on well when they put on new tires.
Excellent Quality and Reliability
I bought this car last year with 110,000 miles and now at 125,000 it has never let me stranded, I drive 100 miles per day with an impressive 30 mpg using A/C. I have never visited a repair shop except for changing tires and timing belt and brake pads, which you have to replace in every car due to normal wear. I am a student and let me tell you is the best decision I've ever made, Hondas are reliable, economical and excellently well built, when I graduate I think I'll keep it as a second car. Forget Bimmers Saabs or Jags, if you want luxury get an Acura which is basically a Honda with the luxury package!
Great Car
It is my first car and i love it. I have fun laughing at people spending $20.00 at the gas station. Have not had any problems. Sporty look and good acceleration.Surprisingly well in Snow. Great car recomended for anyone wanting a reliable inexspensive car.
Tried&True-most reliable car of 6 owned!
I have had a lot of nightmares with used cars, and this one has been amazing. 3.5 years with not one single problem. Fun to drive, at least 30 mpg, usually 33mpg. One of the safest, acc. to Consumer reports. The only reason I am selling is because I'm moving. If I could, I would drive it until it died (which wouldn't be until at least 250k miles, I'm convinced!), and I would get more than my money's worth. These cars are definitely worth way more than they sell for!!
Truly is fun to drive.
Just purchased a 95 Civic DX coupe. I have read reviews like these ones, with such great reviews and good reports. I did my research before purchasing and I was NOT dissapointed what so ever. Consumer Reports rates Civics as being fun to drive and reliable, being one of the most appealing reasons why I bought it. The car seems like the gas gauge never even moves after hours of city driving. The car is very zippy and handles great. The styling is a nice plus. Don't like the fact civics are everywhere??? Well think about this, everyone has civics because they really are great cars.
Fun Drive, great on fuel economy
I checked out virtually all compacts available on market when I purchased. Civic sub-compact faster than all compacts! Great in comfort, no-brainer purchase at time. Only one major repair done, they say it was dirty gas, not sure, valve stuck open. Otherwise, no problems. Gas mileage is great, hardly ever hit the pumps. Get this, battery is original going on 9 years! It doesn't take much to start a sewing machine! I recommend '96 and above, because by then you have side- impact beams for safety. That was my only hesitation on original purchase.
very satisfied honda civic owner
I am a very satisfied honda civic owner. Bought it new at the dealership and it still starts on a dime 101,000 miles later. No repairs -- ever. Just normal manintenance.
