Great Sedan!

2005 Honda Accord EX PZEV 4dr Sedan (2.4L 4cyl 5A)

Bought the 2005 Honda Accord in Sept. '04 (right after they came out... I think we were the 1st ones to purchase the '05 at the dealership). Went back and forth between the '04 model and the new '05... I don't care much for the new tail lights on the '05, but some of the improvements they made were worth it. Went from a '02 Chevy Tahoe (V8 engine + 4" lift kit - great SUV, but a gas guzzler!).. cut my gas bill in less than half. My commute to work is 65+ miles one way, so it was a no brainer to downsize. The Accord is a super car! Fits our family of 4 (with a car seat) perfectly and I love driving it! It's stylish, powerful, economical and the interior is top notch!

All the inside of the car works great. Controls are easy to read and love the climate control. I must say the 4 has all the horse. The car key was big in the hand at first, But it does some great things, Door and trunk opener. Another Great option on keys you can hold open button on for 3-4 sec and all 4 windows open. Nice leather seats, like the feel.

This is my third Accord in 7 years and they still surprise me with innovation and design. Exterior design lacks somewhat, but there are more important things like safety, ride, features for the money and reliability. XM radio is great and all the controls are easy to use and reach. Honda is bar none the best engine builder in the world. This engine is a 3 liter engine and so powerful yet good on gas unless you punch it.

Was trying to decide between the Camry and the Accord. The Accord has so much style; a beautiful car and sporty (if you're not looking for the family thing). It's got a lot more power than expected from the 4 cyl and the handling is really nice. Much more sporty handling than the Camry. The exterior is beautiful, with a luxury look much like the Benz, and the controls are all conveniently placed. I drive it sometimes just for fun.

The I4 engine is smooth and quiet and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The interior design is top notch. The cd player is surprisingly good. There is lots of interior storage. The cloth interior is one of the best ones I've ever seen. The wheels are very nice looking. The EPA gas mileage ratings are pretty low this car is capable of 38 MPG on the highway and upper 20s around town. For the price it's a really good value.

Mix of Power and Economy

The 2005 Hybrid is a vast improvement over the 1998 Accord Coupe V6 that I previously owned. The ride is smoother, the vehicle is much quieter--with the exception of some road noise. Mileage on pure highway driving is exceptional, slightly better than the EPA rating in my experience. City driving can vary significantly depending upon conditions. My experience is between 23 and 27 mpg in town, averaging a little over 24 for city driving. In my opinion that's pretty good for a powerful V6. Transition between modes of power: IMA + gasoline engine, 6 cylinder gasoline power and three cylinder power (with and without assist) is usually very smooth, but occasionally noticeable.

Basically I got the car in June brand new and I love it. Incredibly fun to drive. Great pick up. Everything about the car is amazing EXCEPT one thing I have noticed...there is a wicked blind spot to your back left. Other than that, I have nothing but great things to say about this car.

Interior is top notch, everything easy to reach and operate. Leather heated seats are terrific. Moonroof is great and have had no problems in the 2 months I have owned it. Contrary to what many people report about EPA rating, I am averaging 35 MPG on the highway, 27 in the city. Very impressed. Sound system is also excellent. Very roomy. Superior handling characteristics. Love styling of rear end 03-05 models. The 06 rear end looks like everything else on the road from a Ford 500 to Impala/G6/Lacrosse and Camry. Would highly recommend an Accord to anyone. Fit and finish are flawless on mine. Car is Black with Tan interior & spoiler. Gets LOTS of Looks & thumbs up.

I haven't even had my Accord coupe for a month yet but I know that I struck gold when I picked this car. The performance is excellent considering that it is a 4 cyl (no problems merging onto highways). I considered waiting a year to buy an Acura TL, but the Accord has almost everything the TL does plus it's sportier because of the 2-door option and more importantly, much less expensive but every bit as reliable. No regrets here!

I've had the new Accord EX-L for about a week. It is one sweet ride. Some reviews have complained about road noise, but it's not a problem for me. The car is quick and responsive, escpecially for a 4 cyl. car. The auto tranny is unbelievably smooth. You can hardly tell when it shifts. Handling is great. The interior has a quality feel. I especially love the XM radio that comes with the leather package. One catch is that the front passenger seat does not have a heater in the backrest, just the seat. The brakes on my car are a little touchy, so I will bring it back to the dealer for an adjustment. Other than that, its the perfect car for me.

'04 Acura TL to '05 Accord Hybrid switch

After 12 months & 25000 + miles in a new TL enough of the hard nose suspension, growly engine and myriad squeeks and rattles. It cost me about 13 cents/mile to switch to the Acccord Hybrid w/Nav but if the first week and 1000 miles are any indication, I won't regret it abit. Fit and finish is noticably better and not a loose piece of plastic anywhere. Low profile tires may be pretty but you pay for it in your butt. The Accord may not corner like the TL but it certainly is smoother AND just as quiet on smooth surfaces. At a steady 60 mph in rural NC the needle hovers around 42 mpg and it's not even broken in yet! I gave up a sexy broad for an honest woman.

Honda once again manages to build a quality vehicle. Great conmfort and power package for under $30K. Powerful engine at high rpms but sedan V6 would benefit from manual transmission or manumatic. Stopping distance adequate but disappointing, and brake wear/life is is pitiful. Otherwise, a nice entry- level family sedan with many features for the money... But if you're looking for a "fun-to- drive" element in this vehicle, you may be disappointed; that is why I sold my 2004 Accord EX-V6 so I could invest in a more gratifying sedan experience...

I spent a couple months looking for a replacement for my mustang GT convertible. This is definitely the best choice when it comes to looks/comfort/value. I had an impression of Hondas to be plain but this car was surprising luxurious. I test drove the Altima and Maxima SL prior to buying this car. In comparison, the Accord has superior interior (aluminum?/metal panels are beautiful), comparable stereo sound and HP, and are $3000 less. Everything is placed well ergonomically, and the exterior is very sharp. I wasn't looking for XM radio but it has turned out to be one of my fav features of the car.

EPA rates this V6 Honda EX at 22/28 MPG, but I have found that the mileage is much better, at least for highway driving. I curise at 65 to 70+ MPH on the road and have consistantly computed 35 MPG and sometimes 38. On opnly one occasion I got 33. With the cost of gas this is a nice surprise. Since the car is new, I expect that mileage to get better over time. The rest of the car is excellent, but that's why I bought it. The XM radio is fun.

Leased in March , a month later annoying noises at the curtain airbag, rear seatbelt - had to be fixed , scrape sounds when changing gears 1-2 - Honda have no clue how to fix it....two months later - rear speaker is going off + annoying sounds when AC turned on ...Come on ..have 1400 miles on it and it seems that the car will fall apart at 10000 or so...

We almost purchased the new VW Jetta, then came to our senses and walked next door then drove home with the new Accord Coupe. Whew! that was a close call. There is no comparison. There's more wiggle room than you'd think these days when buying a Honda. I paid less than invoice for this beauty, and she does not disappoint. Comfortable seating, good smooth acceleration and stopping, plus PRECISION handling motivate me to take a different and longer way home each night. I drove and loved my Jeep Grand Cherokee for 4 years and thought the change would be difficult. Not so. I drove the Jeep the other day and felt like I was driving a school bus. This is the poor man's Mercedes without the bulk.

I have had this car - 2.4L 4 cyl 5 spd manual- for 8 months now and over 9000 miles on it. It drives super smooth, nice gear box, no problems yet on any front except the reverse gear being hard to throw into the first 5 months - but now its behaving fine. Excellent interior space utilization by honda. 30 MPG with aggressive driving on city+highway. best acceleration when you keep revs at 3000-4500 rpm. Second gear acceleration is sluggish. Third and 4th gears are the best and you would not really feel the need for the fifth gear. Smooth cruising. this car certainly has the best acceleration you can get from a 4 cyl 160 HP engine. A great, economic all round car for anyone. Strongly recommend

This is my second Honda hybrid. Took my former Civic to nearly 100k miles in just under three years with few problems. Routine oil changes were more difficult on that version with 0 weight 30 not easy to find and quirky steps mechanics have to know... so far with the Accord, it's a snap! My only complaint was the premium sticker price and that the fuel efficiency is nowhere close to that advertised. I am mostly drive on the highway and am averaging closer to 30 than 37. I was sold that the enhancements in hybrid technology were supposed to make this one better for increased hwy mileage than in town. Either way, I'm all for hybrids and my experience has been good! Go Green!!

I would not recommend this for now..wait a year or two for the some changes. engine is very strong and does not compliment the handling. it does not hold tight enough on curvy roads like around mountains but in a straigh line it's very nice, quite and smooth. but around town, handling is fine.what amazed me the most is the brake system. It's very powerful. it really bites. regarding gas mileage, i get almost 30mpg 85% highway with milow driving. the transmission shifting to second gear is very noticeble or is not smooth. i already got 7100miles. i use mobil 1 oil. after 2 mins engine warms up at 60degrees and auto stop works. overall I rate this car 7.5. there is plenty of room for improvent

I've had this car for about 8 months now. I love everything about it. One thing I regret is not getting a manual tranny, since they were out of stock at the time. The V6 is awesome in terms of power, but I could not afford it at the time. And the look of it took time to grow on me, but I did get the OEM Aero-kit (HFP), which is just amazing. I think in the price range, there is no other car I would have gotten.

The days of choosing between a fuel-efficient "pregnant rollerskate" and a car that passes everything but a gas station are over. The Accord Hybrid nicely packages performance with fuel economy. The exceptional marriage of the vaunted 3.0L V- TEC V6 engine with an electric motor is definitely the vehicle's mechanical strength. This is Honda's third-generation IMA project, and it shows far greater refinement than its predecessors. My primary concern rests with Accord's standard automatic transmission. It surely contributes to the vehicle's "smoothness," but my tranny can be finicky. It waits too long to shift at times and can create a pause-and-burst sensation between first and second gears.

The car has many positive features. Superb powertrain, very good build quality, excellent fuel economy, superb controls with great tactile feedback, equipped but not gaudy. The down side is the overly firm ride, steering that lacks precision and feedback. Its'kind of like driving on molasses. And the seats are hard to get comfy in. Slightly over-firm cushion and hard to get centered in the seat. It is a nice looking vehicle in darker colors, it helps hide the heft of the rear end. Interior is very fuctional but not flashy.

Updating previous review (see Greener with Style 4/05): City/Suburban driving 24.5 to 27.5 mpg and highway driving (55 to 65 mph in hilly Oregon) 33 to 34 mpg. Realistically we could have saved a lot more by buying a strong 4 cylinder Accord, but our reasons for buying the car were not driven by only the dollars spent. The car is a joy to drive. Again I would emphasize you need to test drive it fully warmed up in a variety of conditions. Some people may actually be annoyed by the engine shutdown on stops and cylinder shutdown/restart. Electronic steering feels like it 'hangs' sometimes. My wife drives a Civic Hybrid with about 44 mpg but lacks the comfort and power of the Accord (lucky me).

Just got the EX4dr and its great. Quiet, smooth and can get up & Go(for a 4cyl that is). Got for $21,700 out the the door, with the Spoiler w/brake light and a bed liner in the trunk. Can't beat that. The handling on this car is as good as it gets. If choosing between Camry, Accord, or Altima it really a no brainer. Just don't budge on your price at the Dealer. Knowing how good the car is and how bad some people want them they'll take advantage of you. they tried to sale it to me for 23,789 without taxes tag etc. I got it for 21k with tax tag etc included! Worth 21k but not 24,25k.

The Honda Accord is really as good as a car can get. The car looks good, good mecanic, easy to drive both in city driving and on highway. The Honda Accord 2005 is very much a good car to own. I'll recommand it. Normand Province de Québec Canada

The Accord Hybrid

I purchased my hybrid Accord without the navigation system in December, 2004 and already have over 8,500 miles on it. The car has been an absolute pleasure to own -- very reliable, quiet, comfortable and easy to drive, even in the Michigan winter. My mileage, driving mostly highway miles, has averaged 29.2 mpg but that is increasing as the weather warms (I'm sure due to the gas-saving features warming up sooner). For those concerned that the loss of trunk space (because of the battery) will be significant -- fear not -- this vehicle can still easily carry a week's worth of groceries or luggage.

The major downside for me was the realization that this is a "performance" car, not a fuel economy car. It gets 23 to 25 mpg in town and 32-34 on the hwy. Good performance, not the economy I assumed hybrids would get. I love the performance, the power of acceleration, the fact that at idle the engine shuts down. At 6 ft. 3 inches, I have plenty of head room. I love the car and am very happy with it.

Wohhhh WEhhh, found the best kah!!! I used to have a honda civic and a honda integra overseas. I love them both but I think I need a bigger kahh this time. Everytime i drive the car is like a feeling of satisfaction and peace of mind... everybody, you know what i mean, dont get me wrong, domestic cars are good but nahh, there just too many of them in the side of the freeway that needs towing......love everything about this car, inside has got a lot of leg space, outside is conservatively MACHO...and the best is that everybody looks at me ,opps sorry!!! at my car at the stop light.
