Love my Accord hybrid
Excellent car, it is comfortable and fast with good handling. My overall mileage for the last 8000 miles is 30.7. Probably representing about 70% city driving. In local suburban driving I get from a low of 25 mpg if it is a shopping trip with lots of stops and starts, to 30 mpg in more typical point to point trips. On the highway the mileage at 70 mpg ranges from 34 to 43 depending on wind and other factors. My average highway is probably about 37.
made a mistake
I am really sorry to have even considered this car because from the very first day that this car was bought, it has been giving me problems (squeaking, brakes are bad, got recalled for trans and airbags). Looked at the toyota and no such recall on that car. Bought the camry and am very happy with that car.

Accords are the luxury cars of low price
I am totally satisfied with my 2 accords. The accords are the best price and you seem to have a luxury car. They have both power and good looks. We love the leather and the roominess of the cars. I feel Honda is selling the car too low for how well they handle and look. What else can I say except we love our Hondas
Great car and good value
I have owned many cars and just turned in my Nissan SER off of lease. I also own a Mini Cooper S. Planned on another Nissan but drove the Accord for comparison. The Honda's refinement, room, and economy won me over. Plenty of room for 4 large adults. Fuel mileage (More than one half highway) has never dipped below 30 mpg. The 160 horse 4 cyl with the 5 speed is very smooth and peppy enough for most situations. The leather interior is high quality and everything is well thought out. A large friend spent 2 hours in the back seat on a recent trip and commented that he is going to seriously consider this car to replace his old Camry. He is interested in a new TL but not at $10K more $.
As Expected
My 4th Honda and 1st Accord. Not having too much success w/ my previous purchases (especially the unreliable '01 Civic EX) I decided to give the Accord a try. Overall it's a very good car. After driving it 3k miles, I find the car to not excel in any one area, but neither are their any deficiencies. It's quiet, comfortable, safe, peppy, attractive, with great gas mileage for a 3,500 pound car. The brakes are mediocare at best (and far TOO sensitive...they grab abruptly at low speeds, at times so hard causing the seat belts to lock). Other than that I'm pleased with my purchase.
7th Honda and still going strong
A pure pleasure to drive. Great handling and brakes. Interior is much improved over 2002. Acceleration also much improved over 2002 and the entire drivetrain is silky smooth.
My First Honda
I like the car, but I have to agree with one other reviewer. The first thing i noticed was the vibration of the steering wheel and kind of loud engine. That kind of caught me off guard that the steering wheel vibrated - that should NOT happen. And my other immediate concern is the discomfort of the seat, mostly the lumbar area of the back - very concerning since i hope to have this car for many years. Other than that it drives just ok, not as quiet and as smooth as my test drive with its competitor. But overall its a nice car. I bought the car because i like it. I think it has attractive styling and was told that it is a work horse and i tend to keep my cars until they cant drive anymore.
My 2005 HAH @ 12,000 miles
My work commute is 40+ miles round trip in mixed urban/suburban driving and I get about 32 mpg. On a recent highway trip, with some rolling terrain, it was about 40 mpg. I bought the 2005 Accord Hybrid because it had the V6 "giddy-up" that's needed for the crazy traffic conditions in our area, combined with great eco-friendly fuel economy. Although he may disagree, I find it as fun to drive as my husband's BMWs...the 3 series, the 530i, or the 745i. I only wish that it had a power passenger seat, auto-tinting mirrors, and bluetooth technology.
the 2004 handa accord sedan ex/l
this vehicle handles superbly and its acceleration is fantastic even though i have a 4 cylinder engine accord. The interior is more spacious than the earlier model i had
Great Car
Was very impressed with the power for the 240hp engine and the ride is Honda. Gas mileage is good and after owning a 330 Beamer this car is alomost as good. FWD has some steering torque but nav system is great.
Accord V6 6spd vs BMW 328is
I used to have a 97 BMW 328is coupe. I loved the car, the new 2005 honda v6 6spd coupe is faster in a straight line not in turns though. For everyday driving it is comparable and a lot less money to buy and maintain.
What a car
Own an '02 Accord which is an outstanding car. Just bought and '05 for my wife and am very impressed on Honda's improvements to an outstanding '02 design. I'm a hard grader not believing something can get all "10's" but this car is outstanding. Bigger and quieter engine, better mileage, very comfortable interior, repositioning of gauges and displays which shows they are continually listening to customers driver comments. The XM radio is an outstanding feature. Can't say enough good things about this car. Looked at many competitiors vehicles as we wanted the best value for our money and a car we can continually rely on. This is it. Check out the '05, you'll be impressed.
Great car, jury still out though
I have owned Volvos all my life(37 yrs.) and I am extremely impressed with this cars' safety record; a large reason why it won out over the Camry and any American sedan. The 4cyl. is plenty peppy enough and the interior design is very ergonomically friendly. The 6 speaker stereo was a pleasant suprise. Overall this car drives beautifully in any environment with plenty of power especially when stepping out to pass at 65-80mphs. It is so quiet that I actually was doing 90 and didn't realize it until I looked down at the speedometer! Whoops. Jury still out at only 200 miles on the car.
Honda Accord
First Class vehicle. Fit and finish is excellent. Performance is outstanding considering this is a 3.0 liter vehicle and takes REGULAR Gas.
Good Replacement for PASSAT Owners
After looking and test driving the Accord competitors like Altima, SOnato and others. We liked the Accord compared to others in all aspects. Interior color, design, outside color and shape. Good cabin compact and fun drive. It has got some improvements like fog lights, optional shifter etc., to do comapring to PASSAT. But I hope it will be trouble free car than PASSAT. We liked the Graphite Pearl Color. Its has nice look into it.I will surely recommend to others..
Value, features, Car&Drivers '05 10BEST
Honda reliability & industry leading fit & finish, a hallmark for the 2005 Accord Sedans. Overall size is a little larger than my '93 Accord LX (@ 155k miles still going strong) which means more comfort w/outstanding European-like road manners! This Honda Accord 4 cyl. AT i-VTEC is PZEV (Partial Zero Emission vehicles) Rated/Certified, you get a car that doesn't contribute to the earth's pollution! After a week of ownership (bought May 6th for $22,961 OTD) & 160 miles, I can see why Car & Driver choose the 2005 Accord as the "Best Family Sedan"!!! Fun to drive, excellent road feel, confident handling, relatively quiet (moon roof closed), w/appealing, comfortable interior and EPA 24/34 MPG!
Great Car for the money!
This is my 3rd Honda Accord I previously had 1994 EXL and a 2001 EXL...I had to save money so I went with the 2005 LX 5 Speed, and had to have it ordered, as there are very few 5 speed LX. I would like to see interior color choices increased. I would like to see a silver car, with grey (leather) and grey interior offered. If honda does not offer that, they are going to loose a faithful Honda customer to Toyota, as you can custom select your leather choice! Honda has also stepped back from the 2001 to the 2005 in the interior of the car. I was not pleased with the hand rest on the 2005. Also on the EXL they do not have leather trim in the back! The preformance of the 2005 is GREAT!!!
Great Car
Wanted the sedan but they dont make the V6 with a manual in the sedan. So I bought A saphire blue Two door with black leather interior. The car is my 4th Honda and they only get better. This car still pulls from 65 mph in 6th gear! 17in wheels and nice.
10 days, 1,000 miles and lovin' it
Couldn't be happier with the Accord. I really liked driving a Durango for the past 7 years and the 3 Saturns we have owned have been fine. However, the Accord is the best. It is fun to drive, well built and gets good mileage.
A Honda family
I own a 2002 Honda Accord V-6. My wife had a 2002 BMW 225. We replaced the BMW with a Honda Accord Hybrid. So far we have had a very positive experience with the new hybrid. Our driving has been expressway/city street and we have averaged 32 plus miles per gallon. On the expressway we seem to get about 36 MPG. Love the car.
HONDA V6 W/NAV
GREAT CAR GOOD PICKUP EXCELENT BUY
Good Simple Car
My new 05 Accord Sedan excels at nothing, and is defficient at nothing. It is a simple, reliable, quite car. It gets good gas mileage, is VERY safe, has plenty of room, is fast enough. It is not sporting to drive, nore is it boring. It is a car. A ---> B
2005 red Accord V6 coupe
This is the first Honda I have owned or leased. I traded in a 2002 Corvette and I couldn't be happier. The V6 engine is very quick and by adding items such as rear spoiler, tinted windows, fog lights and 17" wheels, the Accord handles much like the 'vette for a lot less money.
Great Value
Bought this car back in Dec of 04. Best value for my money hands down. car is up to 100K miles and drives like its brand new. all systems (electric, sound sun-roof, & leather) work beautify and never had a problem. Passengers and friends don't believe that I have 100K miles or that the car is 4 years old. I highly recommend this vehicle!
Battery Died -Towed Twice in One Day
Only have 16,000 on this baby, owned under 3 yrs. and I was shocked when my battery died on a very hot day. My shop says it happens! He also said the breaks are fine, just noisy pads (after 10,000 noticed a slight squeal). Still like the car for what I paid under $18,000 everything included Cash. Nobody is perfect. Must last 10 yrs.
Great car for the money
I was shopping for a car w/navi in the $35,000 range-G35,TL,ES330.I really didn`t want to buy an Accord because you see so many of them on the road. The more I shopped the better the Accord looked. For over $10,000 less than I planned to spend I got a well engineered car thats comfortable and fun to drive. The interior is well done with nearly all audio and climate controls avilable on the steering wheel.
Crummy Paint
I am surprised to find out that the white Honda Accord that I purchased has only two coats of paint on it. It does not have the clear coat because it is white. A small pebble apparently hit the hood. Now it has to be painted. I have two places on the rear bumper that the paint scrapped off while the car was at the airport. A Honda dealer while I was on vacation told me about the paint. I have never had a car that has paint that just flakes off. What can I do? I bought this beast in Sept 2004. It is a 2005 model. I wish I had never even seen this car. It has a high pitch whine from the front. The first 100 mile trip I went on there was a constant flapping sound from toward the front.
So far...
...so good! Just got this 4 cylinder LX and love it! It's quiet and responsive. Haven't notice any of the rattles that some reviewers have indicated. Plenty of power at whisper volumes. Interior is well designed with everything within driver's reach. AC is ice cold. Mileage has been solid so far. No wonder this car is so popular!
Accord vs. Altima
I was prepared to replace my 2003 Altima with a 2005 model until I checked prices. The Altima starts with a low base price than you need to add options. When I was finished adding options, the Accord was about $1000 less than the Altima. With the higher resale of the Accord, the purchasing decision was a no-brainer.
Bob
Have had no problems. I had one recall on the driver side airbag which was replaced. It is my second Honda Accord. The first one (a '98) gave me no problems also.
best accord ever
nice car
Great car
I bought this car specifically for the interior. It is spectacular! Overall this is the best purchase I have ever made. A few quirky things to pay attention to before buying: 1. The navigation system is semi-complicated and cumbersome - It integrates the Audio controls and the A/C. 2. With the automatic transmission, there is a slight lag when you put the pedal to the floor and try to accelerate. 3. No 60/40 fold down rear seats. The back seats fold completely down, OR you can just fold the armrest down and put long things in from the trunk (works well for skis). 4. The sunroof controls are to the left of the steering wheel. Overall, I would highly recommend this car.
Best Midsize
This is my second Accord. First was a 2001 that had no problems (except a sqeaky brake pedal). This '05 has reduced wind noise, a smoother ride, and excellent safety ratings. My gas mileage has also improved. I get 28- 30 of mixed city/highway driving. Interior is excellent. I'm not crazy about the exterior styling, but it is growing on me. The added spoiler improves its looks.
nice car but ugly lights
I like the car, but not crazy about the color choices and the lights, specially the rear lights, they are long and look like a sad/angry face!
Great Car!!
This is my 4th Accord, and the best yet. Just got it on Friday....dark red with gray interior. The extra horses in the V6 compared to the prior model is really noticeable. Great interior features.
Good value for the money
This is my third Honda and they are still excellent cars. I test drove a Camry and found it comparable, but the cost of options that are standard on the Honda made the Camry too expensive. The back seat leg room is best of any car I looked at, and I think the trunk is very roomy.I love this car and feel very good about the price I paid. However, I am finding that bucket seats are not for the elderly or those with arthritis.
Own it, Love it
Owned a 2000 Accord and was so pleased with it that I purchased a 2004. I like the exterior design much better and the interior is much nicer as well. Nothing compares to the reliability of the Accord as well as the fit and finish. The car handles very well and the road visibility is superior to all others I test drove. I highly recommend this vehicle if you are looking for a sporty reliable vehicle that is roomy enough to double as the every day family car as well.
Best yet
I have owned quite a few cars and until now, with the exception of a VW beetle in the 70's (forgive me; it was the time) I had always bought American made, and always had issues before long. When my son was eighteen and bought his first car, he bought a four door, four cylinder Accord. While nice looking, reliable and easy on insurance esp with a teenager at the wheel, it didn't seem to have that extra kick. So last year when I needed to decide something about a vehicle, I saw an ad for the 2dr coupe and well, it is sitting in my garage now. Black with black leather and maxed out with the 6 cylinder engine, I haven't had so much fun driving ever. I LOVE THIS CAR. and so will you.
The V6 is built in the US, poor quality.
I've owned four accords so far, and they've always been great. My wife wanted an automatic, and the 4-cylinder was awfully gutless. Test drove the V6, and excitedly bought it. I've noticed many small quirks with the car since then - rattles, hard starting, squeaks, and an intermittent engine light flashing. All problems I've never experienced with an accord - let alone one that is 3 months old! Later I come to find out that the V6 cars are built in the USA. I may not have purchased the car had I known this. The 4cyl. cars are still produced in Japan, thankfully. If I had wanted a rattly, hard starting car with intermittent warnings, I could have saved around ten thousand and went with GM.
My 3rd Honda 2nd Accord
I love the performance of my Accord. The grey color is awesome. Seats are awesome. Excellent leg room as well.
Awsome Car!
Couldn't be happier. This car is a sports car and family car all in one. Lots of fun to drive and its very fast.
Accord Hybrid
Great car with great gas mileage. Who would expect anything less from Honda. The only drawback is the lack of a real spare tire; however, there is room for one if desired. I had a moon roof added to mine because they don't include one as standard equipment - I was told it's because of weight. I can't say that I've noticed a mileage difference because of it.
WOW!! What a wonderful car top drive
I traded in my 05 Nissan Armada for this car because of gas prices, MPG and we moved farther out from the city. We are getting 31.1 MPG now as compared to the 10 MPG in the Nissan Armada.
Just Love the V6
Although just had the car for 2 weeks, I am very impressed with the quality comforts and handling for the price. Just traded a 2003 Camry which I loved and although the Camry was more quiet and provided a smoother ride, the interior comforts, handling and extras of the Accord definately make up for it. I Definately recomend it.
Great Value For Ride, Price & Size
Paid $ 17988.00 including destination end of 05 yr. THANK YOU Edmunds for posting the $750.00 roll back to dealer! Gas mileage is kicking in now. Nice drive around town -handles 75mph highway with no problem. Brakes are rated good for disc/drum set/up as well as turns. Road noise does not bother me. All and all this car is almost a #10 for its class.
Accordingly
I've had my Accord for almost 5 months. I must say that I like the car a lot. It does everything well, but nothing extraordinary. It's peppy, has great looks (inside and out); is comfortable; reliable; great value; but a boring driving experience. It's a perfect car to get you to/from in style, knowing the end result will be a car with great resale value; low insurance costs; good safety record; and very good gas mileage. It's a buy.
3 Years 36K No Problems
Bought our 05 at the end of the model year to get a deal. We're completely happy with it, and have had absolutely no problems. We consistently got 30 mpg city/highway combo, then started getting around 35 mpg once we slowed down on the highway a little. This is a perfect commuter car. Plenty of response and power in traffic. Typical tight Honda feel. No squeaks or rattles ever. This is our 3rd Accord, none ever leaked a drop of oil. Only minor issues are that the seats are a bit firm for long distance driving, the stereo isn't that great, and rear door exit is tight -- have had people hit their heads on the way out.
Refined I4
The I4 engine is smooth and quiet and the automatic transmission shifts smoothly. The interior design is top notch. The cd player is surprisingly good. There is lots of interior storage. The cloth interior is one of the best ones I've ever seen. The wheels are very nice looking. The EPA gas mileage ratings are pretty low this car is capable of 38 MPG on the highway and upper 20s around town. For the price it's a really good value.
Honda needs to learn from the Europeans
I've had 4 Hondas over the years, and several European makes. I purchased this car this week, and in the first 400 miles I realize this was a mistake. While Honda manufactures wonderful engines and transmissions, and are generally user-friendly, the steering and suspension are COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENTS. The car drives like a rollerskate, fights changes in direction, rebounds off any inperfections in the road, cannot track around bends to save itself, and has a completely unacceptable amount of road noise resonating in the cabin. I drive 100 miles a day, and this car makes me tired with steering corrections and road noise. This car is pointed in directions - it doesn't "handle" at all.
No spare tire
I also was surprised to learn that this car does not come w/ a spare tire. I went to a used tire place and purchased a full size spare /used rim for $85. I am wondering if this heavy tire will affect my gas mileage. I plan on only using it for long distance trips. Also was disappointed that I had to purchase the compass/ auto diming rear view mirror...think it should have been standard on a $30K car! Love the satellite radio and the car drives really smooth. So far the mileage indicator has been 32 at the highest number, 28 lowest. Fun to drive, really quiet. Very comfortable.
