our FIRST new car!
We purchased our first new car in November, and we've been together 13 years with two children, lots of sports and running around. We researched many cars and in the end, we always went back to the Hondas...the deal we got on the DX was INCREDIBLE...we paid less than 13,000 with no trade in, brand new, off the lot for a 2005....it has already got almost 15,000 miles on it and we LOVE IT...roomy for the 4 of us, huge trunk....great ergonomics inside...looks great outside too...our gas mileage has been about what it stated, maybe a little under...but that is when my husband is driving :-) very dependable....no problems thus far and I know people with Honda Accords with 250,000 + miles...
Outstanding car!
Our 3rd Accord. Can't find a better value for the money. Reliable, economical, spacious, loads of fun to drive. The coupe is a better looking exterior design, but has too many blind spots because of the roof pillars, and of course, the back seat is useless. So, the sedan wins.
Hard to get rid of
Handing this off to college age daughter and after looking at the 08 accord and others I don't want to get rid of it. Its been everything I expected it to be. When guests get in they talk about how nice it is. My father raves about the color (red). It so fun to drive and can't imagine ever owned a 4 cyl now. But it's nothing to brag about from the outside. very plain.
Nice Car
went from truck to this car, ride is great, acceleration is super Most fun I've had driving in years. Front seat heater switches should be moved, always being put on accidently Thats my only complaint. Great car
3 Months with an Accord Hybrid
After owning a 2001 Honda Accord V6, the thrill of owning the first ever Accord Hybrid was highly anticipated. This vehicle has met and actually exceeded our expectations for quality and just pure fun to drive. It has far more pep than other Accord models, handles remarkably well, rides extremely well and is just a pleasure to drive.
Awesome!
i've had honda accords for the past 6 years, and i'll buy another when i'm in the market for a NEW car! My accord is a pleasure to drive, and i feel as proud of it today as I did when i bought my first one. No better car for the money!
First Accord Hybrid in Canada
Dealer says I bought the 1st of this model in Canada. My purchase was for ethical reasons - concern for the environment. It gets about 9 km per 100 litres for city driving and about 6.5 km per litre on highway: about 850 km per tank. Promo said potential is 1000 km per tank. Empty tank takes ~ 54 litres (tho specs indicate it is larger.) Dashboard indicators help me drive in a way that conserves fuel. But, when I need power, it is THERE - LOVE it! (When I do not drive in the "eco" zone, my gas mileage goes up, of course.) My primary critique is that this technology was put only into a luxury model. I do not normally purchase leather, seat warmers, 6-CD changer, etc.
Love That Honda
I LOVE my new Honda. It's so sporty and I feel safe with the weight of the car. All in all I think I made a good choice.
just driving is fun
The Honda Accord is a very easy car to drive. I am a older man and have a gut but the seat allows me to adjust for real comfort. The peppy response is great in traffic and makes you think it is a sports car. My fuel mileage is getting better now that I have 27k plus miles. The built in fuel calculator shows on the road mileage of 28 mpg regularly and when I drive a lot in the city it is usually around 24-25 mpg.
Not scared of suvs anymore
I had 3 honda civics in a row and i loved them. I decided to go a little bigger because i was too intimidated by the large suvs on the road and the awful way their drivers drove. Now that i'm in a bigger car, i'm a much happier camper. I'm also pleased with the ride, look and (hopefully) reliability (it's still pretty new) of the accord. It feels like a luxury car for me. I'm happy i stepped up a notch.
Rock-Solid
First-time Honda owner. Have had it about a month now and am very pleased. Absolutely no squeaks or rattles and no evidence whatsoever of poor quality. Everything is obviously well built. The 5- speed manual is fun to drive. Very comfortable seats (leather has lumbar support -- a big plus). Great gas mileage as well (averaging 30 MPG even with a lot of city driving).
What a feeling...usually.
My EX has been back to the dealership way too many times for hard starting and cold sputtering until warm-up. Honda says the hard start problem is a result of the emission system going through a "test cycle" periodically. I have a 2005 Lexus ES330 which hums along perfectly, without as much as a hiccup. Honda needs to eliminate this issue on their V6 engines.
Good bang for the buck
A very good ride. It gets good gas mileage with the 4 cylinder and automatic transmission. Very good leather seats. XM radio is great!
Very nimble safe to drive
Superior quality. It safe and fun to drive. I's alwasy a renewed experience every time I start her up
I Love My Car
I love my car, it has it all. V6, leather, heated seats. The navigation is the best, voice command. Plus 240 hp. I have absolutely no complaints except that it would be neat if the doors unlocked when you opened them while locked, but other than that I love my car.
My Hybrid is AWESOME!!
I love my Accord Hybrid!! It is fun to drive and the V6 makes it quick - not gutless in the least. The change between the gas and electric engines is indistinguishable. I love the fact that the dash shows when it is running via the gas engine and also when only the electric engine is on. The braking charges this remarkable car. The price is steep, but as more companies make these cars, the price will drop. All of my friends wish they had this car!!!
My first Honda.......very impressive
I was surprised at the price of the vehicle for all the features it has. I thought for a car like this, I was going to pay $30K. I've always heard about the quality of the car from my friends that own Hondas. I had to go out and buy one for myself to find out. I've owned it for two weeks and I simply love the car. Driving it is so much fun. It's smooth on the road and quiet. Gas mileage is better than I expected. The interior is roomier than I expected. Overall, this car has exceeded my expectations. It's no wonder there are so many of them out on the road. The resale value is better than most cars out on the market.
worth the wait
Just picked up my Accord yesterday and I am very happy with my choice. I had owned a Subaru WRX and was going to get another Subaru, but for the value, features, performance and reliability, you just can't beat the Accord. I got a great deal on an 05 with nav (it was the last one at this particular dealership) and it was a great snag. I'll miss the AWD of the Subaru but I'm glad I chose the V6 over the turbo 4.
Hondas
I just got my accord 7 months ago i haven't had any problems with it, it has almost 67 thousand miles on it. Love it
highly recommend
Dependable, Stylish, Sleek, Good on Gas, Love the bright instumental panel, Cool radio, Very peepy for a Automatic
sagging headliner
the headliner is held up with four little pices of velcro wich do not do the job, it sags down about a half inch wich is very annoying for taller drivers. also fuel ecconmy is only 20 mpg. I was a big honda fan till i bought this accord, my civic was a better choice,
awesome
Handles great with lots of power and nearly 40 miles to the gallon on the highway!
I LOVE my Honda
I've made three payments on this car and it's the first time in my life that I don't mind writing out a check! The UMF suprises me--sometimes it seems like my car just wants to get up and go (lots of power for a 4 cyl.). It's very stylish and it looks like I paid alot for this car but I didn't. I was blessed to pay $19,990 for this car + TTL. Very affordable. Unfortunately some dummy in a 1980 Toyota rear-ended me last month (ouch!) but my bumper did what it was supposed to do and my car is back to the war it looked-- beautiful! I recommend this car to anyone who enjoys driving a sedan.
Questionable Build Quality
Needed a new commuter car and decided to skip the Civic for the Accord Value Package. Great looks, great standard features, etc... Was very disappointed that the windshield glass had distortion in it and creates a 'wavey' effect as you drive. I also went to open the trunk for the first time and the lock fell out the back! The car also came with missing paint on the driver's door edge and a poorly done cover-up job of previous scraping. It's currently at the dealer for repair, but I'm not sure they'll fix the glass issue since it's not obvious when you're not moving. Hopefully this was an anomoly and the rest of the car is solid as historical Accords.
Excellent car
Bought it after testdriving several competitors, camry, nissan. So far enjoying it completely. Nice acceleration, comfort, fun to drive. My first Accord, but not the first Honda. Looks good inside and out, comfy leather, clean lines.Comes with everything included, which is nice.Even my teenage son is impressed!
safe car
Was hit in right front by driver passing light. Airbag (side and seat) deployed perfectly. No significant injury in hard hit. Happy to have the side airbags. Very user friendly and ergonomic controls, best I have ever had. Stiff ride, could be a bit lighter sprung for comfort, but may impede handling. Has a "big" feel, not a sporty small car feel. 5 speed is not smooth, and downshifts when braking are noticeable. Air comes on with a clunk when first put on. Brakes are feathery and needs a light touch, same with accelerator, but stops and goes well. Acceleration is very good with automatic, highway ride is smooth and sure footed.
2005 Honda Accord EX-L Duff's
The automobile Industry should follow in the foot steps of the Honda. They have it all together and the others should take notice and build a masterpiece like the Honda Motor Car Division has. In my own words the best most safe and solid car on the road today and that is not exaggerating at all. Driving this car everyday gives me a safe feeling that I know I am going to see my family at the end of my day. Thanks for building such a great Automobile Honda :p)
Six Trouble Free Years
We love our Accord, and feel that it is, without a doubt, the very best quality vehicle we have ever owned. We like it much better than a previous Camry, a Mazda 626 and a Ford.
You should get ONE !!!!
Im 20 yrs old and this is my first car .. and I'm glad it's my first.I have a 4dr honda accord EX. I love the driving experience it gets good gas mileage , and I have yet to have any problems with it. If I had the option to purchase another car I would probly stick with Honda and purchase the Pilot. I feel that Honda's are a safe and reliable car and I am a proud owner !
Love my new Accord EX V6
On New Year's Eve I purchased a new 2005 Accord EX V6 Sedan. I keep my cars a long time and wanted a car I knew I could count on to last 10 years or more. My first Honda was a new 77 Accord and I have owned several others down through the years with the last one being a new 91 Accord EX Sedan, and each of them was a great car. I selected the Accord because of the high performance V6 engine, the 5 speed automatic and its styling, which is much more attractive to me than the Camry. I have had it 3 months now and I really love it. I can recommend this car without reservation and if you like performance I guarantee you will like having the V6!
EX V-6 Auto
New purchase after looking at coupes and sedans from all the major players. This car really moves with the 240HP V- 6 and it's a great compromise with performance, size and cost. With Accord clearance, I paid over a grand less than TMV price for coupe in Boston area. Just wish I could have found a V 6 MT at that price. All in all, a great car for the money.
Love my Accord hybrid
Excellent car, it is comfortable and fast with good handling. My overall mileage for the last 8000 miles is 30.7. Probably representing about 70% city driving. In local suburban driving I get from a low of 25 mpg if it is a shopping trip with lots of stops and starts, to 30 mpg in more typical point to point trips. On the highway the mileage at 70 mpg ranges from 34 to 43 depending on wind and other factors. My average highway is probably about 37.
best car ever
My 2005 Honda Accord is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. The Honda Accord EX-V6 with leather is more than just a car. No words could explain the Accord. All I can say is drive one. I'm not a big fan of imports but i test drove just about everything before i purchased my Accord and i never ever even considered purchasing one but I was there so i said let me drive it... SOLD!
Notice
I have to talk about this car it is great! Not once did it fail in anyway. It did an outstanding performance driving from Ft. Hood Texas to Ft. Wainwright Alaska. I am a soldier. The drive was 4129 miles and this car handled extremely well.
Great Choice
We like the secure handling, comfortable highway ride and reserve power when needed. With full load of luggage and passengers, the car handles very well and provides excellant gas mileage. A/C, sound and convenience features are fine. Sloping hood seems to invite stone chips and one minor rattle in the passenger door are only problems so far.
does your dash rattle too?
I am/always have been a Honda die hard. This is my 7th honda purchase. No better car on the road. but I've had one consistent gripe with the defrost system, inadequate. In the dead of winter you have to turn the a/c to get the windows to clear. I had read a review on the 2004 coupe models where someone complained of a dash rattle....well guess what? I have got a dash rattle.. you pay 25 thousand dollars for a car and the dash rattles??? sonds like the window isn't in tight or something is lose in the dash...unacceptible
Excellent vehicle to own
I did extensive research on various vehicles and decided to buy a Honda LX V-6 four door sedan. I am impressed with its V-6 performance and gas mileage. I average about 28 MPG city/hwy driving. The instrumentation is top notch and user friendly. The 6 disk in dash CD player is very easy to use and the sound quality is excellent. This is my first Honda acquisition and I'm going to enjoy this car for many years to come.
I love it
After years of owing Hondas I strayed to American cars because of their lower price and promise of good performance. Boy what a dissapointment. Came back with a EX V6 6sp coupe with full aero ground affects kit. It's a much better looking car with the Aero kit. The car is responsive and fun to drive, it loves to go to red line with a smooth pur, never sounding strainend and yet it is frugle on gas when not driven hard. This is a car I will keep for a very long time. Best car I have ever owned.
Saves Gas
Honda has truly outdone themselves with this car. 255 total hp (240 V6 and 16 electric) provide a quiet yet substantial driving experience. This car has tremendous acceleration through the mid range to top end. From 50mph to 75mph with gas/electric combination in 4 seconds is impressive. Max fuel efficiency for me seems to be in the 62-64 mph range. At this speed on I-95 I can get just shy of 40mpg. Around town the mpg is just above 28.
Great Car!
This is our second Honda Accord sedan and fourth Honda. After test driving the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Mazda 6, Volkswagen Passat, and Honda Accord, we liked the Accord best. Smooth ride, fit and finish, smooth shifting transmission, and feature packed for a $25,000 car! We have had poor experiences with the big 3 American automakers in the past and didn't want to have a financial burden repeat again. We found the Honda to be the best value in the bunch. We opted for no navigation system (we know how to use a map), and were fortunate enough to get employee pricing on our Accord. This is a great car and we hope to have it for many years to come.
As Expected
My 4th Honda and 1st Accord. Not having too much success w/ my previous purchases (especially the unreliable '01 Civic EX) I decided to give the Accord a try. Overall it's a very good car. After driving it 3k miles, I find the car to not excel in any one area, but neither are their any deficiencies. It's quiet, comfortable, safe, peppy, attractive, with great gas mileage for a 3,500 pound car. The brakes are mediocare at best (and far TOO sensitive...they grab abruptly at low speeds, at times so hard causing the seat belts to lock). Other than that I'm pleased with my purchase.
7th Honda and still going strong
A pure pleasure to drive. Great handling and brakes. Interior is much improved over 2002. Acceleration also much improved over 2002 and the entire drivetrain is silky smooth.
My First Honda
I like the car, but I have to agree with one other reviewer. The first thing i noticed was the vibration of the steering wheel and kind of loud engine. That kind of caught me off guard that the steering wheel vibrated - that should NOT happen. And my other immediate concern is the discomfort of the seat, mostly the lumbar area of the back - very concerning since i hope to have this car for many years. Other than that it drives just ok, not as quiet and as smooth as my test drive with its competitor. But overall its a nice car. I bought the car because i like it. I think it has attractive styling and was told that it is a work horse and i tend to keep my cars until they cant drive anymore.
10 days, 1,000 miles and lovin' it
Couldn't be happier with the Accord. I really liked driving a Durango for the past 7 years and the 3 Saturns we have owned have been fine. However, the Accord is the best. It is fun to drive, well built and gets good mileage.
A Honda family
I own a 2002 Honda Accord V-6. My wife had a 2002 BMW 225. We replaced the BMW with a Honda Accord Hybrid. So far we have had a very positive experience with the new hybrid. Our driving has been expressway/city street and we have averaged 32 plus miles per gallon. On the expressway we seem to get about 36 MPG. Love the car.
Great car for the money
I was shopping for a car w/navi in the $35,000 range-G35,TL,ES330.I really didn`t want to buy an Accord because you see so many of them on the road. The more I shopped the better the Accord looked. For over $10,000 less than I planned to spend I got a well engineered car thats comfortable and fun to drive. The interior is well done with nearly all audio and climate controls avilable on the steering wheel.
Crummy Paint
I am surprised to find out that the white Honda Accord that I purchased has only two coats of paint on it. It does not have the clear coat because it is white. A small pebble apparently hit the hood. Now it has to be painted. I have two places on the rear bumper that the paint scrapped off while the car was at the airport. A Honda dealer while I was on vacation told me about the paint. I have never had a car that has paint that just flakes off. What can I do? I bought this beast in Sept 2004. It is a 2005 model. I wish I had never even seen this car. It has a high pitch whine from the front. The first 100 mile trip I went on there was a constant flapping sound from toward the front.
So far...
...so good! Just got this 4 cylinder LX and love it! It's quiet and responsive. Haven't notice any of the rattles that some reviewers have indicated. Plenty of power at whisper volumes. Interior is well designed with everything within driver's reach. AC is ice cold. Mileage has been solid so far. No wonder this car is so popular!
Own it, Love it
Owned a 2000 Accord and was so pleased with it that I purchased a 2004. I like the exterior design much better and the interior is much nicer as well. Nothing compares to the reliability of the Accord as well as the fit and finish. The car handles very well and the road visibility is superior to all others I test drove. I highly recommend this vehicle if you are looking for a sporty reliable vehicle that is roomy enough to double as the every day family car as well.
Best yet
I have owned quite a few cars and until now, with the exception of a VW beetle in the 70's (forgive me; it was the time) I had always bought American made, and always had issues before long. When my son was eighteen and bought his first car, he bought a four door, four cylinder Accord. While nice looking, reliable and easy on insurance esp with a teenager at the wheel, it didn't seem to have that extra kick. So last year when I needed to decide something about a vehicle, I saw an ad for the 2dr coupe and well, it is sitting in my garage now. Black with black leather and maxed out with the 6 cylinder engine, I haven't had so much fun driving ever. I LOVE THIS CAR. and so will you.
