16 YEARS AND NOT DONE YET...
There is a hole in my heart parting with this car! (EX-L with the four.) 350,000 miles and lots left, except the advancing rust, broken cruise cable and A/C, plus the prospect of a new catalytic converter very soon makes it necessary to drive it to a charity. I have taken it EVERYWHERE. 48 states and all ten provinces in 16 years. It's been a wonderful place to spend a lot of time. I will miss it more than you know in my new CR-V.

Honda Accord 2005
I love this car have owned it for about 9 years and it's still going great. Good performance, drives really well and looks great. We have just brought the latest Honda Hrv SUV which my wife drives but I'm happy to drive the Accord.

great ride & reliability
I am the original owner of this 2005 Honda Accord EX-L 6 cylinder. Just hit 102,000 miles. Had work done recently (struts, tie rods all belts & plugs changed). Rides as if it just came out of the showroom. A great car!

2005 Accord LX V6
Best Car I have ever owned from 1971 to 2023. About 15 in my 73 years. Nothing else came close.
Hesitation when accelerating
This car is just okay. My Toyota Sienna had better & more features, but I no longer needed a van. The worst thing about this V6 Accord is the acceleration. When I press on the gas, I expect a car to go. But just when I need to accelerate to get into a tight spot on the freeway and I "punch it", it hesitates. That hesitation has caused many near misses.
Just a headache
This was my first import car, and I was not impressed at all. The reliability for the car is great, but small annoying things always go wrong. The driver seat started squeaking and making noises at 38000 miles and no dealership would help me unless I would buy a new $1200 seat. The interior makes bad noises over all the bumps and the I4 engine seems underpowered and noisy. The radio has static everywhere and the speakers are already blown out and I never turned the radio up past half way. The dealership also said this was normal. If you get a Honda, at least don't service one at a Honda dealership.
Feel like driving offroad
From experience, brakes with tranny and ABS on this car make something hard to control. For example, when I drive at 60 mph and need to slow down to 20 mph fast, I press brakes moderately and feel tranny first gear down and RPMs go up, then it suddently drop the RPMs and feel like stalling out for a fraction of a sec, becoming really shaky, while gas pedal feel solid and hard to move. Then I press the gas pedal slowly for 1 sec, the tranny switches the gear up very rough, and after I release it, gets even worse, creating a clattery vibration in the cockpit. It seems that tranny confused which way to shift, and keep on clattering back and forth until I go faster.
Far from excellent
What a let down for Honda's top model! The engine performance is excellent and fuel economy very good for a V6 but the rest of the package is less than outstanding. The leather interior is not very comfortable, seats slippery not soft, like the vinyl in dad's old Chrysler. Interior heats up quickly in the sun the AC can't cool it down fast enough. Windows squeak and rattle in the tracks and the dash & console are full of annoying squeaks (made worse in the cold). Thank God for the stereo to drown it all out but forget about talking to anyone. ABS chatters over the smallest bumps and road noise is prominent, even with the factory undercoat. Too many blind spots from big pillars.
Accord Coupe
I purchased this late in 05 when the 06 models came out. Overall, its a decent car. after 2 years of ownership, I have discovered many issues with the car. Squeaks, rust spots, loose panels, cheaply put together parts, crappy brakes, mysterious noises, rattles etc. the tires are the worst. tranny is a bit wacky. All together, the car is running. It has a fairly reliable powertrain. Other than that, the Honda Accord isn't what it's cracked up to be anymore.
Great Car Period
I bought used with 38,000 miles. Put on 08 Accord wheels and tires and K&N filter. 4 cyl/auto has power to spare and gets great MPG. I have read some of the reviews about power/mpg on the 4 cyl and wonder what car they are driving!!! I am 60 years old and have owned Vetts and GTO's etc etc. While not comparing the Accord with either of these types of vehicles, I will say that for a 4 cyl auto this car is remarkable! So, in my opinion, you can not go wrong with this car.
05 Accord EX
Purchased my 05 Accord Ex with 60k and it now has 105k. Routine Maint with the an O2 sensor at about 98k. Very comfortable, nice styling, heated seats are great, dual climate control and front, side and rear airbags. Only complaint is the road noise on the highway. Great tire wear, and the exterior looks perfect- even at 105k. 4 cyl is not sluggish and keeps up fine.
Awesome
This has serious power! I was expecting something little better than gutless. It's a hybrid, afterall. It did 124 mph and had plenty left before I felt I needed to slow it down. I got 26 mpg or so for the first 1000 miles. I'm now getting in the high 30s and even topped 40 mpg last week. It wasn't cheap - but Honda's have always held great value for me. I've owned 6 Honda's to date. Highly recommend the Hybrid.
could be better
i had a problem with driver seat. whenever i turn, the driver seat moves side ways. i went to the dealer to fix it. i am not happy with option. i spent extra money for fog light, wind spoiler and wide tire. those come options will come with if you buy hyundae car. next time i will buy hyundae instead of honda.
Decent car but not impressive
Bought the car on December, 2004. The ride was very comfortable. I like the design of the car for a great price. Gas mileage is ok, definitely cannot go up to 26 mi/gal city for a 5-speed manual as advertised. I've been getting 20 mi/gal in the city for my Accord. The engine is quiet, but the i am not sure if the squeeking noice comes from the dashboard or the windsheild. I am kinda bordered by the noice while I am driving. Handling is ok, but not as good as the previous version. The interior is very roomy. Feel good while I am sitting in it. Overall, the car is ok, but not impressive. But for this price, this is what I am getting I guess. Otherwise, why not go for a lexus.
Nav EX 4 Cyl Accord
Have gotten up to 42.7 miles per gallon when I was on a trip and not in a hurry. It handles well. Navigation System is outstanding. Leather holding up well to normal use. Wish they would reinstate U.S. availability of a matching telephone connection for hands free operation through the speakers and microphone that are in the car. Literature shows that this used to be available for Motorola and several other phone brands, but Honda of America has taken this feature away from the U.S. buyer. I understand it can still be had in Japan though. Otherwise, I love this car and will buy another for my wife, who also finds the ride and handling to be just what she likes.
Good car for the money
The engine performance is great; upgraded from a 1999 Honda Accord 4cyl LX; the Special Edition added features that made it a done deal. One annoyance though: I had to pull the glovebox light bulb out, because the light is on automatically with the headlights, so light was shining out of the cracks of the glovebox door at night... no switch to turn it off when the glovebox door is closed.. :(
Great Car - Much Better Mileage
This car, at 25 mpg city/34mpg highway, is underrated for fuel economy when the majority is highway driving. The cylinder management system, that shuts down 3 cyl. when cruising, is what really saves on fuel. We drive TX-MA-TX each year and have been averaging just short of 40mpg on those two trips and 33 mpg for total average. With 255 hp gas engine, it has plenty of pep.
Honda Accord
It's a nice car...
My Accord
Fun to drive! Its very responsive. The handling is superb. For a coupe, it has a nice trunk space. If you worry about being generic, this is not one of them.
Simple Elegance
Comfortable, elegant and stylish although younger crowd may want more flash. Easily handles highway driving and makes it enjoyable to drive 70 miles daily. Space is great, including trunk, audio controls on steering wheel are easy to use. Storage is convenient. All around a comfortable car at an excellent price for what is offered. I recommend the Accord. Luxury feeling without luxury cost.
30 mpg plus!
So far so good. I am getting 30 mpg plus, and the car is very fast. Very good pick up and handling. Looks great! It's hard to believe that it is a hybrid! It takes a little getting used to when the engine turns off when you have come to a complete stop, then turns on again when your foot comes off the brake.
Love My Honda!
Nice quiet ride. Loads of interior space. Great color choices. The V6 is exceptionally smooth. Great price for a great car.
2005 EX-L Accord Coupe
This is my second Honda. I wanted to have more fun driving so chose the EX- L with a 5 speed 4 cyl engine. The auto version was just too dull and slow. The gas mileage is amazing. Coming from a 2001 Accord coupe EX V6 I can see the improvements but I have some complaints too (see below). Over all I like the way the car feels and the handling is greatly improved. I shopped everything before deciding on this car. I'm tall and could not fit comfortably in most cars. Thanks to telescope steering and the power seat the Honda won.
What a great car
This is really a wonderful car. It performs exceptionally, low maintenance, sleek lines.. and a tremendous CD/stereo
Disappointing Gas Mileage
I traded in a Land Rover Discovery II for this car. I was hoping to get mid 30s gas mileage and have been extremely disappointed. I drive equal highway and city and hoped that I would hit the mid-range of the EPA estimate. I have only made more than 30 mpg on three tanks and I have tailored my driving to keep the "Econ" light illuminated as much as possible. I actually thought there was something wrong with the car and took it back to the dealership. I was told that additives in the gas lowered the mileage. I like the "get up and go" of this car but am truly diappointed with the gas mileage. The odometer and the computer differed in their mpg rating, by as much as 1.5mpg.
Paint chips too easily
Honda's look good but the paint chips very easily -- not good when parking in a city, where I live. But excellent to be in this car - nice interior, much more impressive than you would think with a Honda - very quiet, good AC, and nav and satellite make the ride fun.
Ownership after 2 Years
Best car I have owned. The interior design is excellent. No squeaks, rattles etc. Gas mileage has averaged in the 27-30MPG range in mixed driving. Zero problems. Just regular maintenance intervals thus far. Even as newer models of competition have hit the market I have no regrets.
There Are Better Cars Out There
I bought this car last year for my wife after she was in an accident in her Honda Civic. I knew she loves Honda's and Honda has a reputation of having safe, reliable, fuel efficient, and fun- to-drive vehicles. So, we purchased a fully-loaded v6 and regrettably, I wished I went with my first instinct and got something else. This car has been in the shop so far 4 times and now the check engine light comes on. I have not been impressed with the mpg either. Avg city/highway is 20 mpg. There are plenty of better vehicles out there so don't waste your money on this one. If you have low back problems, this car will hurt your back on long trips. Very uncomfortable.
jan'scar
This car is well maintained and serviced. The only exterior problem is there are a few scratches on the passenger side bumper and it will need a new headliner. This car has served me well for 15 years. I am only selling it because I am interested in buying a new car.
