2005 red Accord V6 coupe
This is the first Honda I have owned or leased. I traded in a 2002 Corvette and I couldn't be happier. The V6 engine is very quick and by adding items such as rear spoiler, tinted windows, fog lights and 17" wheels, the Accord handles much like the 'vette for a lot less money.
Battery Died -Towed Twice in One Day
Only have 16,000 on this baby, owned under 3 yrs. and I was shocked when my battery died on a very hot day. My shop says it happens! He also said the breaks are fine, just noisy pads (after 10,000 noticed a slight squeal). Still like the car for what I paid under $18,000 everything included Cash. Nobody is perfect. Must last 10 yrs.

Disappointed...
I have been averaging 18-19 mpg in the first 600 miles. I thought this car was 24/34, at least that's what was written on the sticker window. I am also disappointed with the tight steering wheel. I prefer a looser and easier steering at all times. I wonder if any of you folks are getting this as well.
Good, reliable transportation
I leased this 2 dr. EX and I am qute happy and pleased with the vehicle. I have just a couple of minor complaints, of no real importance but that could bear some design improvement. The windshield pillar on the driver's side I find is too wide or thick and inhibits visibility when making a left turn. Also, the drivers seat lacks sufficient adjustments (manual). Last but not least, the driver's seat belt does not retract correctly and I have to fish around to find it. The service man told me that the belt is up to manufacturer's specs. I have to retract it manually to get it into the correct position to enable me to fasten it. Other than these the Honda EX Coupe ia a good vehicle.
Buy One!
This is my first Honda. I haven't been excited about a new car purchase in nearly 20 years, but that has finally changed. Honda really makes a solid car. It handles very well, is quiet, and you get the overwhelming feeling that they really put a lot of effort into the engineering. Very "driver friendly."
Better than expected
With a daughter in college, we needed a practical, economical car. Choice came down to the Accord and Mazda 3 (a good car). Decided to spend the extra for the Accord -- good choice! The car is quiet, comfortable, and handles very well. Controls are logical and easy to use. The adjustible steering column makes finding an ideal driving position easy. Knew of Honda's quality, just did not expect this car to be as comfortable as our former 92 Lexus ES 300. Handles much better than the Camry.
4 cylinder i-vtec Accord (Leather)
After the first 500 miles I noticed a squeak in the dashboard. I'm now at 1500 miles and the noise has ceased for about 450 miles. The only other negative thing with the 4 cylinder is it's slightly (and I mean slightly) rough warming up in the morning. After it's warm though it's silky smooth. There was the Nissan Maximas 6 cylinders tradeoff for the 4 cylinder Accord.(We all know Gas Prices are outrageous). But so far I'm very pleased.
Great Value!!!
Great handling, 30 mpg highway, 25 in town. I love the ride and all the goodies included with the car. Dealer service has been great. For what I consider a compromise semi-economy car, this was a good buy. A very good all around sedan. It gives you a sporty feel in a family sedan. Very pleased with this purchase.
A Nice Car
The car an 2005 ex V6 with leather is a very comfortable car. The only the I would do if I bought another car with leather is treat the leather seats because they are rough and hard. My wife sat down with buttons on her pockets and scratched the leather. Once a week with armoral leather wipes does the job.
Another Great Accord
We purchased our Accord at the end of May. This is our third Accord. We traded an '04 Acura TL (a big disappointment) for the V6 EX. The Accord continues to be a great car. It is no wonder that it continues to win awards year after year. We have 5000 miles on it and have only had one issue with the glove box not being tight (rattle). The acceleration is almost as quick as the TL without the TL's torque. The car is much quiter and smoother than the TL. Unless your primary concerns is looks, "toys" and prestige you get a much better car for less money with the Accord
Best Buy for Your Money
Very comfortable to drive...easy to get speeding tickets! Missing many features common with American autos (automatic lights etc.) but I gladly trade them for the Honda quality. 10,000 miles beween oil changes is a plus also.
Not the best for a tall guy.
Over all a nice sporty car with good interior functions. Fair gas mileage. Fun to drive. Lots of storage for such a small car.
Buy this great car as used to save $
I bought this car as used car with only 4500 miles, this car has navigation system and xm radio. I paid $24,500 and spent another $200 to get the spare wheel and tool box of 2006 hybrid, yes of 2006, the special tire I bought at tire shop in much better price. Honda made a stupid mistake with 2005 hybrid on the spare wheel and corrected it on the 2006, however this is the most fun car I ever had, I know that milage is not even close to Toyota Prius but better than all my previous V6 cars, I am a tall guy 61, however the driver seat is very comfortable
What more do you want?
I just bought this car about a week ago, and I couldn't be more happy with it. Its been a pleasure to drive and feels like a luxury car. The V6 is sporty, but Im still able to get 30mpg on the freeway (driving the limit ;-)) I love the layout of the interior, much more so than the comperable Nissans, Toyotas, or Mazdas. The voice commands are also great, keeps my hands on the wheel. This is my first Honda and I am quite impressed, I was reading some of the reviews here that have rattles, mine is whisper quiet. Some of the reviews also say it needs better brakes, I think they are great. I got a good deal on the last sedan with navi on the lot, great value for the money; highly recomended.
Excellent car - superior crash performance
I owned the 2005 Accord EX-L 2.4L 4cyl for exactly two years. Then I took a direct hit in the driver's door from an SUV going 40-50+ mph - and walked away on a cane three days later! Not many sedan car owners can say that!! I have only 2 hairline fractures in my pelvis, which should heal in 6 to 12 weeks. I'm definitely buying another Accord. I also had this vehicle on three New England trips of 3,000 to 5,000 miles each. Very comfortable ride, easy handling. The leather and dual climate controls preempted those temp-related spousal fights so it's worth the extra $1,000 in price.
Good buy
This car is great. There isn't too much I would change about the car, well maybe more the style of Acura TL. This car is great for the money and now I know why I see more and more Hondas on the road. They are a great car no matter what model or trim level you buy. Only thing I didn't want leather seats
Great car
This a great car for every day needs. Good relibility and build quality.
Follow up review
I wrote a review earlier when I first bought it. Now it is 3 months since I owned it. The car gives me 29 mpg in city and 33.5 mpg in highway driving between 70 and 85 MPH. While the fuel efficiency is great, the more important is that the ride is great and the interiors are well done. The car is still very smooth and a joy to ride. I still love washing it and keeping it shiny sparkly.
Great Overall
A really great car overall. It could use about 25 more horsepower. Its very quick at 240hp, but it would be a beast at 265hp. Good thing we can add on after market intakes and exhusts. I definatly recommend geting the Honda Factory Performance Suspesion. The ride is so much tighter and the slight drop really makes the car look awesome. If you have the extra cash i'd get the Aero Packeage as well. As a whole the car is an Excellent choice.
Great car, mileage less than advertised
This car is LOADED - only thing missing is a sunroof. Only minor complaint is that the gas mileage should be better - I'm averaging 32ish, and thought I'd be closer to 35-37 mpg. I have 20K miles on it so far, and it seems to be getting a little better.
V6 6spd is lots of fun!
The V6 Accord 6 speed is the best Honda ever! The power from this car just keeps pulling you back into your seat. The car is wonderful to drive and has a beautiful fit and finish both inside and out. I lack the ability to articulate just how much I really love this car!
Great Ride
This is a great car with lots of power and decent fuel economy. Interior is very roomy and comfortable.
nice car but ugly lights
I like the car, but not crazy about the color choices and the lights, specially the rear lights, they are long and look like a sad/angry face!
Love this car, has a lot of power
I've had this car for 2 years now and put 60,000 miles on it commuting to work. I'm averaging 32-35mpg, at 75mph. yes, there are other hybrids which will give a lot better gas mileage, and I have test driven a lot of them, but they are gutless in power and do not handle well in turns. This car has the best of both worlds and the quality is better than the others also. The Toyota Prius may be the best out there for saving on gas, but the inside of that car is cheesy and they offer no leather. I'm glad I bought this Honda Accord hybrid. I will sacrifice some mileage for the power, comfort, and quality. Wish Honda would continue to make them. 2006 was the last year.
Pleased Hybrid Owner
Car is great. Over 70 MPH and mileage drops between 31-33 MPG, but other than that it's great.
I love my Honda
This is the first time I have ever owned a Honda. I have to say that I am very happy with my Accord. I love it! It has good fuel economy and a lot of power when you need it. The navigation system is excellent, voice command is excellent as well. I will never own another car with out voice command navigation. The Accord is very roomy, very comfortable, it is extremely quiet inside the car too. I noticed this over several other cars that I test drove.
Great Car!!
This is my 4th Accord, and the best yet. Just got it on Friday....dark red with gray interior. The extra horses in the V6 compared to the prior model is really noticeable. Great interior features.
2005 Accord
I traded a '04 Mustang for the '05 Accord. I think this 2.4 5-speed has as much power as the Mustang. It's easier for my family to get in and out of, especially my husband. So far, I've gotten 28 mpg compared to 21 mpg. I think this one is most certainly a keeper.
honda acord
road noise level to high. suspension does not absorb road variations. Noisey over small bumps and seams in the road. Can not even crack the windows open in the rain without getting water all over the door panel and yourself
Hybrid: not up to expectations
I have always loved Honda vehicles and at first glance this looked to be a great way to lower my fuel costs and payments. As time went by, I realized that I would have been much happier with a regular Accord. I am not getting the fuel mileage that the hybrid was supposed to have. I have also realized that the missing trunk space does become a factor when you are making a trip with several people. There is also a strange "lag" in the engine between 40 and 50 mph that I just cannot adjust to. The switching between hybrid and gas engines provides a very jerky feel when you are driving at those speeds.
Love It
I own one, and I love the car. A bit pricey for what you get. But it's worth it when she's clean, looks great and drives great.
Great v6
I retired my 1993 Accord with over 400,000 miles on it, (head gasket blown), and went with this v6. I travel 70% highway 70 mph ( I am not gunning it ever) and getting 27 mpg. A recent hwy trip 34 mpg at 70 mph. It gets better gas mileage than my 4cly 93! Go figure? Great power when needed. No problems yet, 66,000 miles on the car. Leather is very comfortable, radio 6-cd great!
Best car I've ever owned
The #1 rated family sedan by Car and Driver lives up to its reputation. I chose this over a toyota Corolla and Camry; fortunately for me I did. The standard safety features of 8 airbags and ABS helps drive insurance costs down while protecting you and your passengers. It averages 30+ mpg on the highway, even when going faster than 75. Performance is great, as it has more than enough power to get up and go when you need it. The styling of the 2005 is a step up from the 03-04 models (all red tail lights now) although I still prefer the coupe model (but insurance costs more). For a car under $20k this is the absolute best choice.
Sweet Ride
I have nothing but positive remarks on my purchase of a Honda Accord. Very comfortable, fun to drive, and I'm hooked on the XM radio. A great value for the amount of extra features.
Still a love affair
Yesterday was our 10 month anniversary of this love affair. At 15,000 km, its converted mileage is about 27 mpg in city commute of 15 km (9 miles) and 40 stoplights. Highway driving, using the Edmunds' suggestions in AOL review (no lead foot, auto speed control, etc) and keeping an eye on my "eco" zone signal, we get about 37.5 mpg. My earlier review should have reported we use about 9 litres (city) and 6.5 litres (highway) per 100 km driven. This American in Canada reversed km and litres in earlier report. Figures are from dash indicators for gas useage per tank. Real calculations show 700-800 km per 54 litres (32-36 mpg)in mixed driving. (Approximate only:litres do not quite = quarts)
My 3rd Honda 2nd Accord
I love the performance of my Accord. The grey color is awesome. Seats are awesome. Excellent leg room as well.
Cape
Awsome car, best mileage is keeping it on the highway. Average/ normal gas mileage around town. When you need power this is a rocketship! Lots of creature features on this baby too!
best car ever
My 2005 Honda Accord is by far the best vehicle I have ever owned. The Honda Accord EX-V6 with leather is more than just a car. No words could explain the Accord. All I can say is drive one. I'm not a big fan of imports but i test drove just about everything before i purchased my Accord and i never ever even considered purchasing one but I was there so i said let me drive it... SOLD!
Newbie
Was offered below MSRP price which brought it in range with the loaded Accord non-hybrid version. With tax break it will end up about the same as a regular Accord. Didn't want the nav package as I don't like dedicated PC like hardware in a car. It becomes obsolete too fast. It is very comfortable to drive for both city and highway Nice power when you want it. So far my gas mileage for the highway has been around 27 mpg highway. My lead foot is probably the issue. Because of the deal I got I can't complain. Gonna get a real spare though!
1st one to buy
I bought my car on 2/18/05 (who can top that)and got a great deal. The experiance have been great and since that time i have put 11k miles on it due the fact that i drive practiclely all day 6day a week. The best city was 25mpg and highway 39mpg. I love when I stop and it switches to electric... complete silence.. The speed is excellent, and i had to prove that to a few drivers who want to test me. luv it
Good show!
Enjoy driving on the highway. Has good response when needed, and handles well except with wind conditions.
Zippy Little Car
After driving SUVs for ten years, the Accord Hybrid is a blast to drive. Over 30,000 miles in one year, and the gas savings keep adding up... and Increasing with the continual rise in gas prices. At expressway speeds, I average 32mpg. Style, comfort, pep, and economy. What else could you want.
Inadequate provision for flats
The Honda Accord EX Hybrid has no spare tire. It has fluid and a pump for holding the tire for a limited period of time until it can be fixed. The replacement fluid at the dealers is $100 for about a quart. Apparently they do not plan to sell much of it. The best choice, it seems to me, is to buy a utility spare for about $140 and put it in an already small trunk. I don't know that I would have bought the car had I known this at the time. It is something I should have asked about, but I had no idea that a major manufacturer and dealership would have such inadequate means for dealing with flat tires and at such a high price. Blowouts require a tow.
Honda Accord 2005
I love this car have owned it for about 9 years and it's still going great. Good performance, drives really well and looks great. We have just brought the latest Honda Hrv SUV which my wife drives but I'm happy to drive the Accord.
I absolutely love my Accord!
If you like to travel, then this is the car for you. Since purchasing my Honda Accord I have been to Atlanta, GA, Savannah & Tybee Island, GA, Hilton Head Island, GA and Myrtle Beach, SC. This car is fun to drive and handles incredibly well. My mother fell and broke her right ankle, and left foot. Even with 2 casts on she was able to fit comfortably in the backseat as well as the front passenger side. Investing in this vehicle was the best decision I have ever made!!
Bye Acura!
I've always been a big fan of Acura tl's but since U.S. economy sucks lately, I had to downgrade (or so I thought). I bought an 05 Accord ex with everything, from tire pressure sensors, to heated seats, XM and navi. Features that I never had on my 2000 rl. Gas mileage is great, handing is awesome. Styling is just as good as Acuras. Speed is ok, but for the price? You just cant beat it! Oh did I mention 100k warranty? From burnt light bulb to blown engine, they cover it at no cost. Buy one!
It goes a Lonfg way
I travel to Phila on a regular basis. I've never had the pleasure of traveling to Phila on one tank of gas and having over a eighth of a tank left. It's a very quiet car. Sometimes I must check my tach. to verify that it's running. I love the XM radioin it. I never thought I would but it makes those long drives go faster. Speaking of faster, I've had it up to 120+MPH on more than one occasion. Nothing vibrated or fell off for over 30 seconds at that speed. Even a State troper pulled along side as I was decelerating from one of these high speed events,( I thought I had it), and mouthed a "wow- A hybrid?" along with a please slow down jesture. I did! He let me go . He must have been impressed
The best of 7 Hondas I've owned
As a proud owner of mnay Honda's, I have worked my way up from a CVCC to the Accord EX V6. The car handles suberb, great power, acceleration and fun to drive.
The Accord is a quality car!
I just bought a 2-door LX Accord Coupe (4-cyl.,automatic) and it is a great car! It seems to handle better than my Camry did and the ride is just as smooth. The car is reasonably quiet inside and unlike the Camry, I do not hear any annoying vibrations coming from the dash and other places. The Accord seems to be a well-built, reliable and fun car. Though it is a 4-cylinder, it has plenty of power when needed and still gets great mileage. I am hooked on this car.
Hi performance sleeper
The new body style in 2003 finally allowed me to own one. At 6'4" and 290 lbs i could never fit before. Now i can. I find this car to be a great long distance commuter. I do 90 miles per day and it's combination of performance, ride, and fuel economy never leave me wanting. It could use a little more rubber but other than that hard to complain. Highly recommend!
