Exceptional Value
Exceptional value is this car's best feature. Nothing comes close for the money. This car is FAST! The handling could be sharper, but this would compromise ride quality. Interior is top notch, both in materials and layout. Exterior styling is growing on me, still not real fond of the rear end. Fuel economy has been 23 Mpg in mostly city driving. Performance, comfort, reliability, safety, economy... what else could you want!
GREAT car!!
This is a really great car! Fun to drive and great on gas!!Plus the reliability of the Honda name.
A mixed bag at best.
After 8 years in the Dodge Stratus/Chrysler Cirrus genre, I bought my first Accord. Acceleration was great but the bumpy ride and wide turning are inferior to the previous Mopars. Headlamps are incredibly bright. Fit and finish, upholstery, the small trunk and outdated trunk design leave room for improvement. Ditto for the expensive keys and inability to use power ports unless the car is on. Powertrain warranty is the worst of any major manufacturer. Interior had foul smell. Dealer tried to upsell.
Can't beat a Honda!
I've had my '99 Accord for 3 years now and it's the first foreign car I've ever owned, and trust me, it's not going to be my last. I simply love this car. I have not spent a dollar on maintenance besides the regularly scheduled oil change. It's has been very reliable car and I truly enjoy it's comfort and roominess. It's my first four door, and even though I don't have kids, it has come in very handy. I would have never known it was a four cylinder unless my husband had pointed it out. It runs so smooth and just as powerful as my last V-6. I can't say enough about it. If you are looking into buying a Honda, you will not be disappointed!
good family car
Test drove both the V6 and 4. The 4 handeled better and had good power. Seems like it is going to be a great family car.
BEST OF THE BEST
I TEST DROVE MANY CARS INCLUDING THE CAMRY AND ALTIME BEFORE SETTLING ON THE ACCORD. THE QUALITY OF THE MATERIALS AND THE FIT AND FINISH REALLY SOLD ME ON THE CAR. PLUS, I THOUGHT I WAS DRIVING A 6 CYLINDER UNTIL THE SALESPERSON ADVISED ME IT WAS A 4. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST CAR I'VE EVER OWNED. HUGHES HONDA IN WARNER ROBINS GA WAS ALSO THE BEST DEALER.
Great value
I love the car wife was the one that suggested getting an accord because one of her coworkers had one, i found this one close to where i live and absolutely love the vehicle I have the 4 cylinder and it has plenty of power and great gas mileage i have been through 3 or 4 tanks and get 27 to 30 in the car.
2004 EX-L V6
This has been the best automobile I have ever owned. It has an abundance of power and still gets great gas mileage. The engine is bullet proof, and I will replace this one with another.
Been an OK car
I purchased this for a commuter car. I wanted reliable transportation and a fuel efficient vehicle. It has never left me on the side of the road, but has had some issues. I did all the Honda recommended maintenance and during my 60000 check up, it was determined that the transmission needed replacing. Not good, if anything this part should never fail. I had other mechanical issues after the new xmission, I'll call it mechanic induced faults. I wasn't happy with the service dept. responsiveness. The front rotors have been turned down 3 times due to warpage. My gas mileage average is 27mpg, not much better(+2) then my V6 Bonneville I traded in. Battery died after 4 yrs, I'm OK with this.
Fantastic CAR!!!
I absolutely love my new car. It has great gas mileage, looks great, fun to drive, etc. I would buy another Honda in a minute.
Wild Ride
Easy to modify for street racing. Given tools, money, and a little time you can transform this car into the car of your dreams.
A great car!
My Accord EX has been a really great car! Excellent handling, style and very reliable! The only negative is the rotten egg smell of the car's emissions. This smell is also evident on my mother's LX, as well. Compared to other car's at the same price point, the Accord can't be beat!
Try before you buy
Took delivery a week ago. Overall it is a good vehicle which is smooth, powerful, handles well and fairly quite. Honda could have gone a few steps further to make it into an outstanding vehicle by increasing comfort(seats)and safety features (Day time running lights, auto door locks. Make sure seat is comfortable, a 10 minutes test drive is not enough
best car out there
Trust once you drive and feel the HP of ths car you will fall in love with it. The price is cheap and it is dependible
25K for RATTLES
... and a lot of them. The car has excellent powerful, quiet and fuel efficient V6, decent and predictable handling and one of the best interior ergonomics and front sits I've ever seen. Unfortunately my car developed a lot of interior rattles coming from front and rear doors/windows and the steering wheel. It's not acceptable for 25K top of the line Honda. The window rattles were also mentioned in the Edmunds Sept 03 Accord Long-Term Test, but apparently Honda doesn't give a dam about it - I have the same exactly rattles in my 04 Accord.
honda is number 1
this is my 3rd honda.i just love these cars they are wonderful.i just traded my '99 in for the 2004,and i love it.
Pleased with Honda in Omaha
Exceptionally smooth, well put together vehicle. Performance is exceptionally quick and steady. The NAV system is well worth the extra charge
Acura by another name
I traded in my 2000 Acura 3.2 TL at the end of my lease and "downgraded" to a 2004 Honda Accord EX-V6 w/navi. WOW! Up until that point, the Acura was the best value for a near-luxury car I could find. But this Accord is bigger, faster, has more gizmos you actually USE, gets better mileage, and is about $100/mo less in a payment. The warranty is a year less, but with a Honda you won't need it anyway. If you are thinking about an Acura, check out the new Accord first!
Highly Overrated
This is my first time owning a Honda, so far I have owned three Toyotas. I wanted to try something different, based on Honda's reputation and reviews. The car though is just OK, not at all "the best family sedan", as it is touted. Even with the V-6 engine, the acceleration is subpar. Where are the 240 horses? Probably sleeping! The transmission gets confused often, especially when exiting sharp turns and on inclines. I guess the reviewers should spend more than one day with a car before declaring it the best. How about the short 3yrs/36000 miles warranty? If the car is so reliable (supposedly), how come Honda does not stand by it for a longer time?
Like no other
Bought the accord 2004 EX with 33,000 miles with light hail damage. Never had any problem so far. I love the handling of this car, very comfortable and good fuel economy for a mid-size sedan. upgraded from my old car 1998 accord.
Big Disappointment
This is a huge disappointment. The ride is very hard compared to my previous Hondas and the seat is very uncomfortable. The speedometer has an illuminated dial. It doesn't have fixed numbers, so if you adjust the light level for night driving and then turn on the lights during the day, the speedometer disappears. If you don't want to carry the huge keyless entry key, the only way to open the trunk is by first opening the drivers' side door and hitting the trunk release. Car speakers' buzz and rattle. Controls for air conditioning and radio are . Plus, it's ugly. Honda turned the engineers loose on this one to the detriment of the driver.
Most wonderful car I've ever had.
I got the car 3/03 and it is absolutely perfect. The dealer was great, I got no bad surprises. It is beautiful, peppy, comfortable, did I mention beautiful? And reliable? I love it so much -- and so does everyone who sees it or rides in it.
A smooth car with no worries...
You pay a premium to buy a Honda, but the extra $ will be paid back in spades in peace of mind, engineering excellence and retail value. This car is a dream to drive -- the standard 5-speed automatic is silky smooth. The interior controls are cleverly designed and well-lit. Thoughtful touches abound, from intelligently designed cupholders to the ability to put all the windows down at the same time at a touch of your key. The car is quite comfortable, to boot, but folks upgrading from an American car (I switched from a Taurus) will have to adjust to the more firm, road hugging ride.
I Love my Accord V-6
I love this V-6. It is my second..upgrade from 98 V-6 :The first model. This is a very smooth riding and quiet car. Has alot of power. Hardin Honda was great. Renaldo was my sales person. $400 under MSRP. I also had teflon coating. What an upgrade! the body just glows.
Excellent car, excellent price
I started looking for a midsize sedan. I was surprised that the high quality Accord was one of the cheapest one with reasonable amount of equipment. ABS brakes are standard. I add A/C. It is a shame it does not includes powers locks. It should in this category! Drive it and you love it! The feeling is as my previous Lexus, very smooth that only expensive cars give. Although some experts think it lose originality because of the too quiet interior, I think it is a pleasure for the daily commute.
More trims wanted
EXV6 should come in cloth seats as well. Couldn't care a bit for XM but want the alloys, sunroof, V6, power seats. Road, wind, etc noise sources eliminated. Tight built is nice. A bit disoriented in city traffic not hearing other cars! Handling could be better, but is OK for 98% driving cond's. Good job on gas mileage on a V6.
totally awesome car
Awesome car! The Accord is a very well built, solid car and it's a joy to drive. Its roomy, comfortable and FAST. It is so quiet that the car seems to float on air - you see is moving, but you can not hear it. Plenty of features and easy to use instrament stack. The Navi system is worth the extra money and is extremely useful. The XM radio is great addition. The only glitch is that the front slope on the hood seems to get chipped easily.
A very disappointed Longtime Honda Owner
I couldn't wait to buy this car. I have owned Honda for over twenty years. This car has been trouble right from the start! I have had so many problems that I can't list them here. My car is just over one year old and sounds so loud that I thought I had muffler problems. It rides like a ten year old car too! My dealer has tryed to do their best but can't do anything about the fact that this car is just not a well built car. I wish I kept my old honda. I have spent more time at the dealership with this "NEW" car than I have ever in the past. I can assure you that Honda is no longer built any better than any other car out there! Very disappointed.
Honda Accord EX/L 2004
Love the car couldn't be any happier. The car drives smooth and is super quiet. Comes with all the extras. Love Honda
Accord Rocks!
The EX, V6 pushes out 240 hp for the thrill of your life! Not bad for a Honda. From doing internet searches to 12 different dealers, was able to get car for $200 under invoice. Call Angelia at College Park Honda - great customer service. This is my third honda and the best one yet!
Honda at its best
I just purchased this car and I am very impressed. I have owned a few cars in my day (32) including this one and this is by far the most impressive for the money. I traded a 2001 Lincoln LS and there is no comparison. The Honda is built to last. The 4 cylinder motor is outstanding, spacious interior, nice ride, smooth transmission, and great gas mileage. If you are in the car buying market you must give this a test drive.
A dream to Own
This car is by far the best car in this Midsize market.
good car
It is a good investment.
Not a bad deal.
Overall, I'd say it's been a good car. I bought the EX fully loaded with everything but the navigation system, and I must say that I like all the features, although it's no Camry. But it also doesn't cost as much as the Camry. The ride is a bit firm, and it has a lot of blind spots. Overall it's a beautiful car, but when you're in it, it feels like a cheaper car that has been loaded with features. The Camry feels much more solid. And for some reason, I've been getting only 17 mpg! The dealership tells me it still needs to be broken in. I got an amazing deal on it though. 21,800 brand new. It actually could have sold it used for more.
Best Honda Yet
Exellent ride, probably due to the stiffer cariage. Eeverything on the dash is exactly where you want it. Our Son and Grandchildren live 300 miles away and we visit them as often as we can. This Honda is excellent on the Hiway and has more than enough power to pass a vehicle. As well the noise level in the car is extremly low. The comfort of the seats are probably one of the best reasons to purchase a new Honda.
The Best of the Best
First a word of advice... save up for the Honda Accord EX with Navigation. While it seems like a $1950 toy it just SEEMS that way. It is an AMAZING total computer...not just a route-finder like so many others. Now onto the vehicle as a whole. You will not find a vehicle in the 24-26k range (after haggling) that comes close to this car in any way. In fact I would put it up against any BMW 3 series and a substantial test drive will have you feeling the same.
On the road to Lemondom
We've owned an Integra, CRV, and Civic prior to buying the Accord and loved them all. Our new Accord has been back to the dealer at least 6 times for rattles, brakes, and skipping CDs. THe car still rattles, the brakes vibrate, the CD skips and the rear passenger door now can not be opened from the inside. We are in contact with Honda USA and the Washington State Attorney General's office to have the car declared a lemon. Honda USA has been slow (38 days) to respond to our concerns, and today asked for another chance to fix the problems they have been unsuccessful at fixing 6 times.
Honda is the Best
Honda is the number one import in my opinion, especially now that I have purchased the latest model Accord. I have now learned why they have been labeled the number one import vehicle.
Good car
Bought new in '04. Nice design, spacious interior, huge trunk capacity, nice look in and out. Decent pick up when merging onto highway. Good sound system, everything conveniently placed for the driver. Never had a problem with it!
New Honda owner
I very much enjoy the interior of the vehicle. Everything you need is close and accessible. It handles very well. I've noticed very little road noise and it is so quite it is hard to tell when it is running.
Awesome Accord
i decided to move up from my Civic which was also a great car to the Accord, i am very impressed with this vehicle, it is just an awesome car, it performs well on the highway and is very comfortable to drive and the features are great too.
This one's out of the park
Honda hits another home run with the Accord EXL 4Cyl. I have had a '95 Acura Integra GSR and an '00 Accord EXL V6. The '04 Accord combines the best features of each the previous two. The Engine has the quiet, smoothness and power of the GSR. The interior is more luxurious much more quiet than my old Accord. The 5sp Manual is perfection. Safety and comfort Improvements make this car vastly superior to Toyota, VWs or Nissan. All this for the same price as 95 Integra.
Cheap and unreliable batteries!!!
The interior of this car is nice and roomy. But, there are a few little things that do not work right such as the glove compartment and the CD storage lid (does not close). The exterior is a little boring. The BIG PROBLEM is the cheap 3 years battery made in Mexico. I expect a battery with 5 years lifetime. My battery broke down after 5 months and was replaced by a Honda replacement battery with a 5 years warranty. But after 2 months, the new battery starts to act up again. My two previous cars are Honda and I was quite happy with them. Now, I totally lost my confidence in the Honda name.
V-6 A good Choice!
This is my 3rd Honda and my first V-6. All were EX models. Most impressive with this car is the smoothness, quietness, and power of the drivetrain. Handling is crisp and the ride is more taut than my previous 99 almost to the point of being irritating. My old EX rode better. Overall I am very happy with this car.
Perfection
Had many Hondas---this one is by far the best in quality, styling, and value. I don't know Honda can improve on this one.
Bad Sales Service Norm Reeves
Car has paint defeat when purchase. Dealer said it was just dirty. Took in 2 times to dealer. one was for a day. The 2nd car was left for for a week. White spot on paint. Services center said it need to be repainted. Car less then 2week old. Alarm & tint was install elsewhere from dealer for about $300. Sale manager very rude. Will not refund the $300 but only the replaced with a new car. Was told to remove it ourself. Didn't accept dealer offer. Wrote to honda motors. Its been about 7 bussiness days & still waiting. Will not purchase another Honda again. We have 4 honda at home. BS. Beware Norm Reeves Honda!
Not for older adults
This is a ver hard car to see out of. I am very short waisted and I just can't see and have to be very carefull when driving. I find that GM cars are much eaiser to drive when you are older and short.
Important Info's for Honda buyers
Honda fans for many years. For the past several years (from 1999),i have noticed HOnda vehicles have serious tranmission problems.I am not here to give bad reputation of HOnda products, but it is true.My sister's 99 Accord 4 cyl. has had problem with trans. eversince i bought it for her birhtday.More importantly, my 02 Acura TL'S recently has transmission failure when i was ON THE HIGHWAY( THANKS GOD I AM STILL ALIVE. MORE INFO. PLEASE E- MAIL richbf2 hotmail.com.By the way, i TRADED MY ACURA TYPE S IN FOR A MAXIMA.
04 Accord
I have the car just over a month and put 3500 miles on it. Performance of the 4 cylinder is amazing. Any more power that you get from the 6 is a waste of gas, this car flies and on 70mph trip I got 35 mpg. It's not a sports car but its pretty sporty if you are looking for a family sedan.
Not a bad car
Have had the car year-and-a-half. Has 30K Miles and not a single problem. Gets great gas mileage (34 on interstate and 26 in town). However, the tires spin pretty easy, especially if it's wet out. Not sure if it's the Michelins or bad weight splits on the car. Also, the brakes grab really hard every now-and-then. When I turn on the A.C. will hear a "clunk" when the compressor kicks in. Also, the A.C. pulls hard on the engine. Have to wind the engine out more between shifts to keep it from getting herky-jerky. Also, trunk has no detent, so when you open it and the wind is blowing, it'll fall down on your head (ouch!) Also, when turn HVAC temp dial, hear a wierd groaning noise.
