Honda comes through again!
After having had three Lexus ES300's I decided to take a look at the new Accord V6. It was so smooth and comfortable I could not justify the extra $10K for another Lexus, particularly since I don't like the new body style of the Lexus.
The Best Car I Have Ever Owned
Not only is the Honda Accord 4-dr V-6 with leather interior and Navigation system loaded with all the luxuries, it rides like a dream. Power, performance and looks - My new car is a triple threat and I will always look to the Accord when I need a new car.

A great choice
Traded a 2002 Acura RSX for this car. Considered the new TSX but for the same money got 40 more horsepower, smooth V6, roomier interior, cheaper insurance, and the Accord uses regular gas. Overall, very pleased. The fuel economy is outstanding considering the power provided. Recently averaged 29 MPG on a trip driving 70-80 mph. The car is very smooth and quiet. Night and day compared to the RSX. Not much to complain about, my suggested improvements are really nitpicking a nearly perfect car.
Honda did a great job on this car!
I have now owned the car for a week and have put almost 800 miles on it. The only problem I had is a slight vibration from one of the rear speakers when I play loud, bassy music, but imagine the dealership will cover that under warranty. This car is much sprotier and faster than I imagined it would be. Handles the corners like a much sportier car and can be driven for hours without any driver fatigue. You can see, hear and feel the excellent engineering that went into this car. i would recommend it to anybody.
Great Car
While no car is perfect for all this one is great for many. Just got this recently from my dad's estate in Az. Drove it to Maryland and have used it for a few months and now ready to sell. First off I will miss it. This car combines very good acceleration with great fuel economy for the size. It sits and transports four full sized adults and all their stuff comfortably. It rides on the stiff side but in return provides great control. If you want cushy and floaty buy a Buick or Camry. If you like apexes and sweeping on ramps this is for you. I have achieved mpg 20's in town and low 30's on the open road. Not at all bad for the level of comfort, performance, and reliability.
Awesome Accord!
This is my favorite car yet! We have owned a few Accords over the years, any this '04 is by far the best. It is sooo quiet, powerful, confident, efficient, and high-tech. I absolutely love the Navigation system and how intuitive it is with the steering wheel and voice commands. We got 30.1 actual MPG on our first 300 miles (2/3 highway). I plan to keep this car forever, which is a great feeling!
great car to own ,above the rest
i love the car and i think i made the right choice, but i wish it could of handled more like a family sport sedan ,especialy on turns, and pickup.for a 240hp engin it should have a quicker respons. i had a 2001 maxima se and it was the same hp but the response was a lot quicker, and it handled better on turns than the acccord, but no where close to the workmenship of the accord, inside and outside, and comfortabilityis unmatched by a car of it's class.
Best Car I Ever Owned!
I'm 59 and have owned a dozen cars in my life. The Honda Accord 4-dr sedan is my favorite of all. Previously I owned a 2-dr Accord for 12 years that never needed repairing. But this new design is fun to drive, luxurious, handsome and has great pickup and gas mileage. It makes me so happy to drive it.
This car is INSANE!
Bought the car from a freind of my brother at a Chicag dealership and just drove it back home to Boston. A 1,000-mile drive is a pretty good crash course in what a car is like. I considered them all, but this car is INSANE! The power of the 3.0L V6 is just beyond words. The design and attention to detail is a cut above whatever's #2 in this class. This car is an Acura in all but name. I got it in white with the tan interior. People ooh and ahh when they see it. She's a beauty.
TEST DRIVE A HONDA AND YOU'LL BE SOLD
I PURCHASED MY HONDA A YEAR AGO FROM THE HONDA DEALERSHIP IN SMITHTOWN. SUPRISINGLY THE HONDA NEVER REALLY CAUGHT MY EYE ON THE ROAD AND IT WAS MY EIGHTEEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHO RECOMMENDED I TAKE A LOOK AT THEM. I TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND WAS SOLD. I WAS PARTICULARLY IMPRESSED WITH THE WAY IT HOLDS THE ROAD - YOU SEEM TO JUST GLIDE THROUGH THE TURNS - EVEN IN THE WORST OF WEATHER. I'VE NEVER HAD ONE PROBLEM OR COMPLAINT IN THE YEAR I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR AND I WOULD DEFINATELY PURCHASE ANOTHER. IN FACT ALL OF MY CARS WILL BE HONDAS FROM NOW ON.
Another winner
This is my 9th Honda and they just keep getting them faster, more comfortable, thriftier and overall nicer! What more can you ask for from a car or its manufacturer?
best car
The 2004 Honda Accord EX(Silver) that my mom bought is great. the features are great and the body and build of the car is crazy. I have to say that the only thing that i didnt like was the back lights at first but i now i know why they put hem on, so that they can be different than other cars.
You Got to Love this one
There is not much to not love about this car. I really enjoy it and the looks I get when driving down the road. The kids fight over who is going to drive when the family goes somewhere together and they are always trying to get mom to let them borrow the car.
My first Honda Accord
This is my first Honda Accord. I've owned/leased Camry's and Altima's before and I'm really impressed! We purchased the EX sedan with side curtain airbags. The ergonomics work very well for us older baby boomers (even the larger radio/clock displays are a nice touch). The only fault I can find with this car is this - I'm kinda bottom heavy (ok, my wife says FAT) and the harder foam rubber "bolsters" puts too much pressure on my hips and make for an uncomfortable driving position. If it wasn't for that, its probably the best car of its type!!!
One Great Car
It is like driving a luxury vehicle for a moderate price. Not one problem since I drove the vehicle off the lot 8 months ago.
Fun Car
Impressive car, surprising 4 cylinder, feels like a small 6. comfortable, easy to drive, responsive handling, comfortable on small trips . ( haven't done any long trips yet.)Head light ilumination great. Steering wheel radio controls great! Back seat has enough leg rm( I'm 6 foot tall) I Love this car! so much fun to drive!
Satisfied
Green Pearl with beige interior. If you live in the upper Mid-West or receive a fair amount of snow, the Canadian version does have heated side mirrors but the US version does not. More comfortable seats and nicer interior than the Passat but is slightly less fun to drive than the Passat. Optional extended warranty can be used at any Honda dealership. An online dealer does sell the 7 year, 0 deductible extended warranty for less than $1,000.
Why buy an Acura ?
My friend drives a great Acura TL which I used to covet until I bought my much less expensive Accord. I'll match my Accord's comfort, performance, and driving fun against the 2003 TL any day and I'll take the money I saved when purchasing and the money saved using regular rather than premium gas and buy a wide screen TV for my family room.
2004 HONDA ACCORD
GREAT HANDLING, VERY PEPPY, A JOY TO DRIVE. I AM 6' 4" AND THERE IS PLENTY OF ROOM.
My 3rd Honda
1 civic 2 accords keep up the good work Honda
the best!
wonderful and very fun to drive. smooth riding, very nice audio system.Navigation is very helpful and not as complicated as one would think.
Studied Accord, Camry, Passat
I have studied all four cars for the last three months, drove, researched, service, asked others............ drove a second time....same day... the Accord comes out on top....the smoothness of driving from 0 to 70, you cannot tell, when it shifts. Very sound tight, as I drive 35,000 miles a year. The body comes together with very uniformity on the body lines. The servicing is far better than the others. I have bought six new vehicles previously from GM, Toyota, Nissan, this is far the best!
The best Honda Ever
This car is totally different with previous version (I owned a 2002 accord coupe). Mine has lots of power and feels like a German car. I enjoy driving it everywhere. I always bought Honda because of the market value but this time I think I made a good choice.
My Honest Opinion
I was going to buy a V6 Accord or a V6 Camry. It came down to the Accord for multiple reasons but primarily: More powerful engine, Better fuel consumption, More options standard, Renouned quality. I have put 400 miles on my new Accord and this is what I think: The V6 is amazingly quiet and deceptively powerful. It comes with 16 inch Michelin tires all thw way around. I was doing 80 MPH on route 295 on a rainy day and when I realized it had to slow down (I didn't want a ticket). I can't emphasize enough how impressed I am with the powertrain capability and smoothness.
My New Accord
I just got my 2004 Accord EX (Sedan w/ Leather) this past weekend & completely love this car. On top of the realiability & affordibility you've come to expect from Honda (I've driven Honda's for 10 years), Honda has done a great job making you feel like you're riding in a luxury car that should cost $10,000 more, easy. I love the sleekish exterior, but the interior is where I feel the Accord really shines. It's such a comfortable ride that gives you everything you need whether you have a family or whether you are single, like me, and just want the space & the ammenities of a family sedan.
Our First Honda
I think we'll stick with Honda from now on. During our warranty period, we never had to take it back in for anything. After 2 years and 50,000 miles, the only thing we've had to do was change the oil!! We are addicted to the GPS NAV system. We are also now sold on XM Radio - we couldn't drive without it! We don't use the voice commands because there are so many to learn and the system is slow to respond. I can either speak to turn down the volume and wait 10 seconds, or I can just reach for the knob. The only downside I can think of is that the 2nd AC charger in the center console doesn't work. SMOKER BEWARE - there is no lighter or ashtray!
Good to own another HONDA ACCORD
I have owned several Hondas, this 2004 V6 Accord is by far the best bilt of all of them.
Buy This Car!
We looked and test drove higher-end cars like the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C- Class, as well as the Altima, Maxima, and Camry. So why did we end up with an Accord? The PRICE/QUALITY ratio. For the money, we could not find a better deal considering: Interior styling/comfort (It feels like a European car!) Build quality (Honda need I say more?) Standard Features (Upscale heated power seats, moonroof...) Resale Value Safety (8 air bags!) Spaciousness At around $23k OTD, nothing out there can compare, esp with standard features that can rival that of a more upscale European car in terms of comfort and fit/finish. Leather interior is BEAUTIFUL.
GREAT FUN CAR
HAD THIS CAR FOR 2 WEEKS NOW AND LIKE IT MORE EVERY DAY. HANDLES BEAUTIFULLY, RIDE IS VERY SMOOTH AND CABIN IS VERY COMFORTABLE. THIS CAR HAS EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO GET FROM POINT A TO B IN STYLE AND COMFORT.WHITE WITH IVORY LEATHER REALLY TURNS HEADS.THIS HONDA GETS AN A+++++.
fine car
I just purchased my 2004 blcak ex-l. I am very impressed with this car. Our last accord was a new black ex-l in late 2000 which was traded in 1 year later for a 2002 honda odyssey. Amont the previously unavailable features of the older accords, the new tan leather interior in very luxurious, and the wood inserts are very tasteful. we are very happy with this beautiful car, and this is our 5th honda automobile in the last 6 years.
I Love My Car
This is the second New Honda Accord I've purchased. It is an excellent car!
Great car, definitely best in its class
We have owned this car for 3 months and love it. It looks and runs great. We considered several other cars: the Taurus, Malibu, Camry, and Maxima. The Taurus and Malibu were ugly and didn't have the features of the Accord. The Camry looked better than the Ford and the Chevy, but was still pretty plain. Plus, to get the features that the Honda had would have cost a a couple of grand more. The Maxima is a great looking and driving car. But it is significantly more money than the Accord, and the Accord only gives up about 20 HP to the Maxima and is almost as fun to drive. Overall, there is not a car that is a better value than the Honda Accord.
honda accord
it is the best car on the market-best car for your money. great gas mileage and really comfy-fits a lot of people.
Excellent Value
We bought the EX V6 w/NAV new in 2004. We've put 114,000 miles on it and so far have only changed the oil and replaced the tires! We have had no problems with the brakes or transmission. The V6 gives excellent power so we can safely pass uphill if needed. Handles great - takes tight corners without making a sound.
I love my Honda Accord
I had a Honda Civic for the past ten years and needed to upgrade to a larger car. I did not hesitate to buy the Accord; I did not even consider another car seriously. I have only had it a couple weeks but it is living up to, and surpassing, all my expectations.
Happy camper....
This is a great car and I am totally satisfied with my purchase. The combination of performance, space, economy, reliability, quality, resale and value is unbeatable.
An Excellant Vehicle
I have had my 2003 Honda Acoord Ex for 11months now and have had ample time to really know the satisfaction of having bought the best car on the market to meet my needs. For a family of four, the interior is roomy and comfortable. I am relaxed and at ease using the controls on the steering wheel as well as those on the dash. I feel the car is very reliable and quite safe as I do my daily driving from work to my children's school and home and to run errands. I was also amazed at the amount of trunk space in my car, there is more space than i imagined.
Great car!
Simply a great car. Bought for the wife. Lots of airbags. Good power to efficiency ratio. Low road noise.
The way I see it.
Very nice riding vehicle. Interior in the LX is a little sparse. It could have a few more asthetic items, but it is quite comfortable. The instruments are user friendly and laid out well. I am somewhat disappointed in the fuel economy. The car has adequate power in most driving situations. The transmission shifts very smoothly. I would like to be able to pull the selector from P right into Drive without having to end up in D3. This should be because in most driving situations D is where you want to be. If this car holds up as well as my 1989 Honda DX with almost 200,000 miles and still going strong I'll be happy.
Finally decided on the Honda!!
I spent the last few months reading Edmunds, CRs and other mags to help me decide which new car to go with. I test drove the Mazda 6, Accord, Altima (v6), Maxima, Highlander, and the Acura TSX. I really wanted the Mazda 6 - However, the "rust" issue scared me away. Came down to the Accord vs the Altima - basically I could get either one for the same monthly payment. I went with the Accord since it was more "practical". I just bought it 4 days ago and I'm very happy with my decission!! I love the inside fit and finish of the Accord. It actually looks and feels a lot like the TSX. But, you get a V6 and more room with the Accord!! I'm very happy with my decission.
Would do it all over again!
Thought you may be interested in a review from someone who has owned this car for 6 yrs. Just turned 204,000 miles. Only problem was the radio that was replaced by Honda. Replaced the alternator at 190,000 miles. Other than that, just normal maintenance. Lots of highway driving, getting 30 to 32 mpg. Brakes last far longer than any other car I've owned. Can't believe the car still runs so well. I keep asking my service man (independent) when the car might die and he keeps saying not anytime soon. The 4 cylinder doesn't have the initial burst that you would like, but the low cost of maintenence and the reliability more than make up for it. Would highly recommend this car.
New Honda owner
I very much enjoy the interior of the vehicle. Everything you need is close and accessible. It handles very well. I've noticed very little road noise and it is so quite it is hard to tell when it is running.
Honda Accord LX
Great car, the styling and ergonomics are good. I like the availability of a 5 speed manual trans. The day I bought the car I took it on a 700 mile road trip and got 37 miles per gallon. Not bad for a fullsize car. The car is quiet and handles great. Just what I'd expect from a Honda.
Cheap and unreliable batteries!!!
The interior of this car is nice and roomy. But, there are a few little things that do not work right such as the glove compartment and the CD storage lid (does not close). The exterior is a little boring. The BIG PROBLEM is the cheap 3 years battery made in Mexico. I expect a battery with 5 years lifetime. My battery broke down after 5 months and was replaced by a Honda replacement battery with a 5 years warranty. But after 2 months, the new battery starts to act up again. My two previous cars are Honda and I was quite happy with them. Now, I totally lost my confidence in the Honda name.
Perfection
Had many Hondas---this one is by far the best in quality, styling, and value. I don't know Honda can improve on this one.
Bad Sales Service Norm Reeves
Car has paint defeat when purchase. Dealer said it was just dirty. Took in 2 times to dealer. one was for a day. The 2nd car was left for for a week. White spot on paint. Services center said it need to be repainted. Car less then 2week old. Alarm & tint was install elsewhere from dealer for about $300. Sale manager very rude. Will not refund the $300 but only the replaced with a new car. Was told to remove it ourself. Didn't accept dealer offer. Wrote to honda motors. Its been about 7 bussiness days & still waiting. Will not purchase another Honda again. We have 4 honda at home. BS. Beware Norm Reeves Honda!
Not for older adults
This is a ver hard car to see out of. I am very short waisted and I just can't see and have to be very carefull when driving. I find that GM cars are much eaiser to drive when you are older and short.
Important Info's for Honda buyers
Honda fans for many years. For the past several years (from 1999),i have noticed HOnda vehicles have serious tranmission problems.I am not here to give bad reputation of HOnda products, but it is true.My sister's 99 Accord 4 cyl. has had problem with trans. eversince i bought it for her birhtday.More importantly, my 02 Acura TL'S recently has transmission failure when i was ON THE HIGHWAY( THANKS GOD I AM STILL ALIVE. MORE INFO. PLEASE E- MAIL richbf2 hotmail.com.By the way, i TRADED MY ACURA TYPE S IN FOR A MAXIMA.
04 Accord
I have the car just over a month and put 3500 miles on it. Performance of the 4 cylinder is amazing. Any more power that you get from the 6 is a waste of gas, this car flies and on 70mph trip I got 35 mpg. It's not a sports car but its pretty sporty if you are looking for a family sedan.
Not a bad car
Have had the car year-and-a-half. Has 30K Miles and not a single problem. Gets great gas mileage (34 on interstate and 26 in town). However, the tires spin pretty easy, especially if it's wet out. Not sure if it's the Michelins or bad weight splits on the car. Also, the brakes grab really hard every now-and-then. When I turn on the A.C. will hear a "clunk" when the compressor kicks in. Also, the A.C. pulls hard on the engine. Have to wind the engine out more between shifts to keep it from getting herky-jerky. Also, trunk has no detent, so when you open it and the wind is blowing, it'll fall down on your head (ouch!) Also, when turn HVAC temp dial, hear a wierd groaning noise.
