past , present , & future
i'm an Honda owner since 1979, on that time i bought an Honda Civic CVCC, I WAS 19 , and was great to drive , low mantinience , low gas consume and had a low price too $5300.00. was my great deal. After the Civic, 1984 accord coupe , 1986 red Prelude , 1991 ACCORD SEDAN , 1994 ACCORD SEDAN , 2004 ACCORD SEDAN. IS JUST A GREAT CAR.
NOT IMPRESSED
This car has been back to a dealership several times for problems in less than 8 months of purchase. The brakes went bad- had to cut the rotor and replace the pads. The catalistic converter had to be replaced. What appears to the struts are making a rattling noise when driving over ruff terain...and in regards to the silky smooth gear box...hmmm, not in this car.

Honda is alright!
I like the car. It is fast and sturdy. I traded in a 1997 Infiniti Q45 to save on gas and it is saving me almost $100 per month. I bought it used and it still feels like new. It was Honda certified which gave me some piece of mind. I definitely recommend buying this car if you're thinking about it. I rented a Ford Explorer SUV and my accord car has more rear passenger room than that thing.
Near-Perfect Family Sedan
This is by far the best Family Sedan I have ever driven. It has a lot of power and gets pretty good gas mileage (it's advertised at 30 mpg, I have been getting about 28.5 at an average speed of about 80mph on the freeways). Opt for the top-of-the- line Ex-V6 and you will NOT be sorry!
Love the Accord
The Honda Accord has been an excellent choice for me. The quality is incredible. I can't imagine buying another American car after owning this one. The dealership has provided absolutely incredible service to me. They have gone out of their way to help with any issues I have had. Those issues have been: frozen door lock (from washing it with pressure wash I guess), most recently a problem with Navigation being erractic (they are currently working to resolve this one), possibly a DVD that may be working less than excellent. The only complaint I would have is the fact that the 4 cylinder engine is a bit light on the road and tends to ride a little bumpy & road noise is kind of loud.
Honda comes through again!
After having had three Lexus ES300's I decided to take a look at the new Accord V6. It was so smooth and comfortable I could not justify the extra $10K for another Lexus, particularly since I don't like the new body style of the Lexus.
A great choice
Traded a 2002 Acura RSX for this car. Considered the new TSX but for the same money got 40 more horsepower, smooth V6, roomier interior, cheaper insurance, and the Accord uses regular gas. Overall, very pleased. The fuel economy is outstanding considering the power provided. Recently averaged 29 MPG on a trip driving 70-80 mph. The car is very smooth and quiet. Night and day compared to the RSX. Not much to complain about, my suggested improvements are really nitpicking a nearly perfect car.
Great car
This is the 2nd Accord we have owned. It's still the best car for the money on the road today. Love the gas milage on the 4 cyl. At 160 HP it;s got a lot of get up and go. The in side is really nice. The best thing of all is the XM radio. If you try it one time you will not be without it ----Just Great Plan to drive this car 150,000 miles
Worth the money
This is going to be bias since it is my 11th Honda. Why not when the reliability is so good and resale near 50% after five years. The NAV system is awesome, very user friendly. This is my wife's car and she insisted on a standard so had to wait a couple months. Traded in a V-6 Accord. She let me take it today while she drove the Oydessy. Amazed at the power of a 4 cylinder and how smooth it is. The Acura TL would have been nice, but couldn't justify the cost. Bought the car from Bruce in fleet at Honda Cars of Mesa. Call act to deal with, couldn't say enough about him except...fifth Honda I've bought from him.
Accord experience is worth every penny.
Hi all, After months and month of research finally purchased my car -- This Accord EX w/leather 5m is beyond words. It has everything you could ask for, from leather which hugs you to a beautiful and well set out dash. Picked it up yesterday and so far I have no complaints. The ride is comfortable, build quality is excellent. The manual trans is smooth and so is the clutch. Got a great deal, paid 21,800 for a Graphite Pearl EX-L 4cyl 5M. I would recommend this car for all, just seems as though I've purchased a luxury sedan. Now if only the HID/Xenon was an option
Terrible Seats
We bought this car, our first and now our last new Honda, with great expectations, and we have been VERY dissapointed with both the car and with the Honda company. This car has the most uncomfortable seats of any vehicle we have ever owned. We cannot ride in it over an hour with severe back, butt and leg fatigue. It's actually painful. Honda is aware of this problem as the Honda district manager disclosed to me, but they aren't willing to do anything to remedy the situation for us. What good is a car if you cannot ride in it comfortably for an hour? My advice is to avoid Honda. If you want a quality car, get a Toyota or a Nissan or something else. Buy a Honda at your own peril!
best value in family sedans
Finally after two months of reviewing (like a fanatic) every family sedan on the market, I bought the EX 6 cylinder Accord. Great value compared to Camry, Taurus and Mazda 6. Major complaint is that the suspension is very rigid and you feel every bump on the road. exceptional interior and exterior design compared to the mid sized mid priced competition.
mixed feelings
The new Accord has better built quality than my previous tinny 2000 Accord. The door are solid and the interior is quiet. Problem is you can hear MORE rattles inside the cabin. I also don't like the slow downshifting of the autobox, which always gets to top gear/ OD ASAP even at very low speed. Engine feels more powerful with the air-con on. Suspension is a little stiff and again doesn't help the rattles. Interior fit not up to par, Honda!
This car is INSANE!
Bought the car from a freind of my brother at a Chicag dealership and just drove it back home to Boston. A 1,000-mile drive is a pretty good crash course in what a car is like. I considered them all, but this car is INSANE! The power of the 3.0L V6 is just beyond words. The design and attention to detail is a cut above whatever's #2 in this class. This car is an Acura in all but name. I got it in white with the tan interior. People ooh and ahh when they see it. She's a beauty.
So far, so good....
I only have 700 miles on this car and am a bit concerned about complaints on this board re build quality and rattles. I'll post an update after a few thousand miles. But so far, it's been great. Fit/finish seem perfect so far, *great* power for a 4, the tranny is plenty slick for me (but I wouldn't mind the short throw 6 speed.)
looks great
this is my first honda and i am impressed with the body style but the handling of the car tires and suspension needs improvement. sometimes it feels as if i am driving on a rocky road when the road is smooth.the sales associate was inadequate in showing the features of the car.i have had to bring the car in twice for minor repairs in 3 months.not happy with that.
disappointed
The overall built quality is better than the previous generations, and it is now more like its main competetor the Camry. The engine is more relaxed especially when the air-con is on. However, I find that the fitting of the interior parts is poor: my car is plaqued with squeaks and rattles. This problem is exaggerated by the quietl interior and firm suspension. The second point is the slow down-shifting of the auto box. It seems to move to the top gear (or overdrive?) as soon as possible. I wished I had test driven the Mazda 6 (or even a 3 with 2.3 l).
Give Me A Brake
Loved the car until they told me my driving habits attributed to the rear brake pads needing replacing after 15k. Additionally, front rotors turned due to pulsation. I've had several cars that I drive the same, so why are my habits or city driving an issue when it comes to replacing pads already. I think that's a product fault or defect. My odyssey or corolla didn't suffer from my bad driving.
first car wasn't as perfect as expected
I have heard many good things about honda. My sister and girlfirend have used ones which work fine but for some reason with my new honda that wasn't the same. A week didnt pass by when the trunk release broke. I got it fixed by honda. Also I started getting this rotten egg smell and took it back to honda. They told me the catalatic converter had to be changed and they changed that. As for the service that was another story. Each time i went to honda for a problem i had to wait 3 plus hours. When they serviced my car they put two oil stains on my trunk which couldn't come out easily. The honda dealership gave me wash.
Good Car
I owned 1993 Honda Accord LX. Due to natural disaster, my old car got flooded and I decide to get the new one. Basically 2004 Accord EX-V6 has lots of power that you can hunt down other cars like Camry V6, Mazda 6s or it can match with Nissan Altima V6 and even Audi A4 3.0. Very ergonomic and nice design. But there are some cheap plastic. Also I drive 75% local & 25% hwy and get only 17.5 miles / gallon. I am not a crazy driver but still have this kind of number on mileage. Slightly disappointed.
LOVE THIS CAR~
I bought the LX-V6 because I wanted the power of a V-6, but didn't want all of the extras that the EX-V6 has. I paid EXACTLY what Edmund's TMV suggests. I strongly recommend doing your internet research before buying a car!
Another winner
This is my 9th Honda and they just keep getting them faster, more comfortable, thriftier and overall nicer! What more can you ask for from a car or its manufacturer?
honda accord
best car ive ever driven.
The Almost Perfect Car
The Honda Accord has been on virtually everyone's recommended list for decades and this model has just upped the ante for what it takes to compete. For the price, IMHO nothing comes close. Comfort, safety, handling, performance, room, and reliability are all topnotch.
Love my Honda
Love it! The only thing I would change is the moonroof controls. The passager needs to have access also. The door locks. Passager again can't do much. The seat heater are to easy to hit by mistake, need thing you know you have a hot bottom and it 90 degrees out side. Love the back seat being able to lie down and use for larger cargo. Love the quite ride. Seems like a big car inside even tho it not. A dream to ride around and view the world around us. Nice big windows. Easy to see when backing up. Never thought we would buy a Honda but sure glad we did. It's jus right for us. It's a keeper!!
not sorry i bought it
after waiting 13 years to buy another car (with the expectation that i will have this car for quite a while, as well) i decided on the accord EX-L. i did a lot of researching and test drove a number of cars before settling on the accord. i am very happy with it. it handles really well and gas mileage is phenomenal, especially in my situation where i do a lot of short trips vs regular highway driving. there is a lot of interior storage, which my previous car was sadly missing, so i no longer have to store my sunglasses jammed between the seat and the console. i'm not second guessing my decision.
Best Car EVER!!!!!!!!!!
Bravo HONDA! This is my first time driving a non "USA" auto makers car. I will never be back. Hello GM, Ford etc wake up and smell the new car smell. Thier cars beat you hands down, in bang for the buck all the way around. I'd only bought new Fords before this and used GM's now it'll be Honda, Toyota, Lexus or Accura. Why drive crap when you can drive quality.
Exceptional Value
My wife and I have owned both domestic and Japanese cars. We finally settled down on Hondas (Accord and Odyssey) due to "early retirement" of other brands. In March, we were considering a replacement for an aging (1990) Accord and looking at primarily an entry level luxury car (G35, TL, RL, and the likes). We couldn't decide which one to buy until coming across 2004 Accord with EX-L trim. It has all the options we are looking for with a price about 10K less. The deal was made quickly with the help of Internet. After owning it for 2 months, we put 4k on it. The Accord delivers much more than we expected, and is expected to last for many years.
My first Honda Accord
This is my first Honda Accord. I've owned/leased Camry's and Altima's before and I'm really impressed! We purchased the EX sedan with side curtain airbags. The ergonomics work very well for us older baby boomers (even the larger radio/clock displays are a nice touch). The only fault I can find with this car is this - I'm kinda bottom heavy (ok, my wife says FAT) and the harder foam rubber "bolsters" puts too much pressure on my hips and make for an uncomfortable driving position. If it wasn't for that, its probably the best car of its type!!!
Awesome Sedan
My family just purchased a 2004 honda accord v-6 sedan. We love it. It rides very smooth and is always comfortable. We sprung for the extra option by spreading the wood across the dash. We chose this car over the BMW 3-Series and are glad we did. We love everything about it. Everything from the smooth ride to the XM satelitte radio to the armrest in the back seat. WE LOVE THIS CAR! My family previously had a 98' Accord and we like the 04' Accord better.
2004 Accord
What a pleasure to drive. All that reserve power gives the driver security knowing that there is always plenty of go remaining at the touch of the accelerator. Very comfortable, very stylish. We love it.
2004 Honda Accord EX V-6
As a family of mostly Toyota products including Lexus. This is our first Honda. We test drove many cars before deciding on the the Accord. We looked at the Toyota Corolla and Camry and Volkswagon Jetta, but liked the roomy interior and quietness of the Accord. Thsi car just felt right in all areas. We chose the V-6 over the 4cy - the extra power is worth the couple of miles per gallon overall. With slow break in - Our mileage is around 32mpg. The side air bags in the front & back are a must! Especially with children.
Best car I've ever had
After 10 yrs of Hondas, I went to Ford, Dodge, even Lexus and returned to the Accord. Lexus was luxury, but bang for your buck Accord is the best midsized sedan in America. Low maintenance cost, good fuel economy, excellent resale value, conservative yet classy looks without using your kids college money to buy it.
Excellent Car
I brought my Accord new and have not any problems with the car. My son used when he went away to college then my daughter. The two complaints I have with the car are: 1. The clear coat is coming off and Honda will not own up to the problem even dealerships acknowledge that there is a problem with the paint job from the factory. 2. The other problem is the brakes started to squeal after about 30000 miles on it. I have replaced brake pads and still will not go away.
Cant buy a better Sedan
If you like the fit when you sit...you'll love everything else. The engine and trans combo are second to none. Who needs a V6? I never liked 4cy Autos until Honda put this 5sp Auto with their new 2.4 iVTEC. This is the best all around Sedan you can buy, period. I've also been approching 40mpg on the interstate...enough said.
Two weeks old
I looked at the Altima, Passat and Accord. I'm really happy I went with the Accord. Very soft leather and interior feel is excellent.
Great car, except...
I fell in love with my 2004 Accord EXV6 after the test drive. This is my second Accord and better than my 1998 Accord. I have one gripe. In the second week after delivery, the transmission leaked and slipped. I had the car towed to the dealer and it was fixed. Since then, I have no problems and I am happy with my car!
My Dad picked a nice car
It's been 14 years since my dad bought a new car of his own and this Accord is the best he chose. Even tho I haven't drove his Accord. The ride is so smooth you don't know when you have braked. Its great for family trips. I love the console, from looking at the 03-04 Camry's console and style, the Accord's is the best. Hearing the engine roar and the feeling under your feel, Whoo sounds like the cars in my PS2 Game. The v-6 uses regular gas also!, I dream of the coupe version of this car.
I am sorry I bought this car
I have been very disappointed with this car. The back brakes went out at 25K miles, the battery went out after two years, the driver's side door lock has now broken and will cost a $200+ to repair. The pass-through space for the fold down seats is ridiculously small and ineffective. I can't afford to trade it in so I am stuck with it but not happy about it.
Very dependable and rides well!

Used Accord, excellent
I bought this car used, it's my first car. After researching A LOT I came to the conclusion that a Honda is probably the safest choice when it comes to buying a used car. I wanted a four door and something with a little power. I am extremely satisfied. Luckily who ever had it before me took excellent care of it because it's pretty much like new. I have yet to experience any serious problems with it.
New Accord LX w/V6
This car has much more interior room and trunk space than my 94 Accord, though the car isn't as sexy looking. The V-6 engine has more power than I can use and has provided the "midlife crisis" excitement I wanted without sacrificing 4 doors and seating for 5. The stereo with CD-changer is great. Driving comfort is unmatched. Reliability is - you know - Honda. The breaks are great but a little sticky in initial touch.
Best Car I have Driven
I am in sales and was in need of dependable and reliable vehicle that had navigation. I am die-hard Chevy fan and hard a time separating my feelings for another GM product. After several weeks of contemplating what car buy, I decided on the Accord. The Navigation system was far superior to Onstar and other competitors such as Nissan. I have owned this car one week and I am truly impressed with my purchase. I would recommend this car in a heartbeat. Just two weeks ago I was reading others testimonials and based on the positive feedback made the decision to buy the Accord and you should to.
First Honda and I'm happy
Being in sales I drive a lot of miles over the course of a year. I've had my 2004 EX-L for two weeks and love it so far. For the money the comfort is great. I'm getting about 30 miles combined highway and city miles which I thought would be around three or four miles higher, however; in all fairness I need to check it on a dedicated road trip to see if it improves.
Best car ever owned
Best car I have ever owned. As near perfect as can get. I like the body style better on this car better than the newer body styles. If we take a trip its in this car. I buy the best tires and batteries when I replace them. Easy access to the cabin air filter behind the glove box. Takes me 3 to 5 min to change out once a year.
My 2nd Honda
I bought an 04 civic lx in January, then upgraded to my accord, for just a little more a month... I love the looks of my car inside and out. I have two problems though, my radio has a lot of static. My overhead compartment falls down constantly... I am taking it to the shop this week for these two problems.
Low cost and Lovin' it.
I bought this car used in 2006. Since then, other than usual maintenance cost of tires, brakes, oil changes, etc. I spent about $85 to replace a gasket. After driving a Subaru and a Chevy where costs started within the first year of ownership, and became excessive quickly, I will never buy anything but Honda again. I love, love love this car.
What an Asset!
What an incredible vehicle! We were able to refinance this vehicle in 2007 and payoff some bills. It runs well and looks great still and still has good value!
