Great Redesign
I see now Honda has gone to the DOHC engine something that Toyota has had for years and atleast for me was the stumbling point on the Honda for me..Toyota always won. But now its hard to beat for the money.. If Honda stays aggressive they will leave Toyota in the dust
Good Value, Not Much Fun To Drive
Overall, the Accord was a great value however it is just not that much fun to drive. The engine has enough HP to get up and going, yet lacks sport car quality. The reliability, roominess of the interior, and great financing rates prompted my decision to buy this car. The car produces a moderate amount of road noise too; It is not quiet. I looked at the Acura TL and will be trading in the Accord. The Acura still has great value and is the Accord's luxury sport version that appeals to those who want a car that is stylish and fun to drive. The Accord appealed to my practical side and the TL appealed to my senses as well. If you have a few extra bucks to spend it might be worth it.

Very Good, But Improvements Needed
I'm 6-1 and I have good leg room. This is the best car I've ever owned and my first Honda. The navigation system helped me get out of a confusing sea of unexpected detours during a massive traffic jam in an unfamiliar major city recently by letting me view a street map and suggesting alternative routes. Will definitely pay for a XM subscription when the three-month free trial ends. The sound system is great. Caution: Using a metalic rear-window tint may make the navigation system go screwy, but no problems with my after-market dark rear window tint . Annoying rattle inside, but haven't had a chance to take it back to the dealer.
I have the 2005 version
Had to replace my 2001 after an accident with a 2005. The Accord is top notch. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable Sedan. The body styling is nice, wind noise was very quiet, handling is sweet. I think it still lacks some small refinements that would make this a truly outstanding car. Mine is black with the tan interior. I should have gotten the navigation but didn't since I'm leasing it. The 4 cyl had far more kick than I expected with the bonus of higher gas mileage than the V6.
EX-trordinary
Great commuter. All controls readily at hand, and move with precision. Efficient use of space throughout cabin. Controls and displays top notch. No problems with build quality (squeaks, rattles-as posted elsewhere). Enjoy the refined engine and 5-speed manual transmission. Have peace of mind that comes with Honda's reputation. Wonderful job by Honda engineers in all facets of design.
Not what I thought either
When you're researching a car, it's easy just to go off of the reviews without actually asking yourself what you want. I research for months before buying this car, after a while I got HONDAITIS, a condition where you start to believe that HONDA's are holier than thou. I pictured myself happily driving it for 10 years. Once I owned it, I knew that it would be a boring 10 years. After a month I got tired of the bland grey interior. The transmission shifted great, but the engine was weak. Remember an I-VTEC Honda 4-cyl is still only a 4-cyl. I bought a 2000 Grand Am V-6 for a work car a few months after the Accord. My wife started driving it and made me drive the Honda, that says it all.
My 2003 Accord EXV6 is a Lemon
I am not happy with my EXV6 or DCH Paramus Honda. Water has leaked in from the front windshield which was replaced twice. Water also leaked into the trunk because a rear body seam wasn't sealed properly. The front passenger window mechanism also had to be replaced, due to loud noise. There was an interior squeaking sound that turned out to be improper welding of the panels under the car, it was rewelded.
Get One
I drive this car almost every day and can not find a reason to go back to the dealer. That in itself is worth a lot to me. The ride, comfort, features and quiet are so good I can't believe this car sold for only $23,500. I still look forward to getting in my Accord.
The best car yet
My accord and all accords are probaly the best cars out there. I have no regrets about my decision
First Time Honda Owner
Bought Accord new six months ago. I went to buy an Altima, but it wasn't comfortable as I am only 5 feet tall. I sat in Accord & it just fit. I had to settle for the EX 4cyl rather than 6 cyl w/leather to fit in my budget (due to higher Honda prices) but heard it was worth it for reputation of dependability and resale value. I agree. Gold color doesn't show Southern dirt and dust. Handles beautifully in the rain and sticks to the road unlike other cars I've owned including Lexus, Acura and Mitsubishi. It is family friendly, yet sporty. My 15-year old now wants one come her 16th birthday. If car continues like it's going and keeps impressing me, she'll get one. Highly recommended!
I Love my Accord
I love my Accord. It is fun to drive, quiet, and comfortable. I drive 60 miles a day on my commute to work and it is a dream. The standard stereo is great and I would recommend keeping the XM that you get for free for the first 3 months.
BEST!!
I had a 2001 and I loved it but traded in on a newer one. I LOVE this car! Nice handling on curves. It is a MUST BUY car.
Good car
Bought new in '04. Nice design, spacious interior, huge trunk capacity, nice look in and out. Decent pick up when merging onto highway. Good sound system, everything conveniently placed for the driver. Never had a problem with it!
I love this car !!!
I would recommend this sedan to anyonewho is looking for an excellent one. No regrets at all in buying this car. Very quite ride I am really impressed with this car. Even on snow and rain it rides like an SUV if you are careful. Maybe it's because of its michelin tires.
Elegant, Refined, Perfect
After reading many reviews of family sedans, I narrowed my choices to the Mazda 6, the Toyota Camry, and the Honda Accord. After test-driving all three cars, I chose the Accord. From the in-dash 6-disc CD changer to the remote-transmitter/key combination, this car has it all. The alloy wheels look great and the Eternal Blue Pearl color has an upscale feel. The interior is quiet and there are convenience features everywhere. While the Mazda 6 has a sporty drive feeling, it is not as smooth as the Accord with its Honda engine. Shifting is seamless and engine noise is minimal. You can't top this car in the family sedan segment.
Why pay more for an Acura?
I bought this car a little over 1 year ago and have already managed to put 27,000 miles on it. So far I have had exactly one problem that was covered under warranty. At about 10,000 miles the break rotors were warped rather badly, but the dealership resurfaced them and I have had no problems since. Gas mileage has ranged between 23 and 31 miles per gallon. Handling is much improved from the previous model (98-02), and the extra 40 horsepower makes a difference as well. The only reason I could think of for paying an extra $7 grand for an Acura TL is the styling and the 6-speed manual. The only thing this car needs is all wheel drive. Other than that, I would call it perfect.
Great Car
I had to buy the car after extensive research of the competitors in this class. I just could not find a comparable car for the same price when taking into account the total package of power, interior features, reliability and safety ratings, gas mileage, great engine and use of regular unleaded fuel. The 2004 Accord is an immense improvement over the 1994 Accord which I felt was a great car.
1st timer
I've had the Honda accord for 3 weeks now and I'm very impressed with the comfort, handling, quietness, and acceleration of the v-6. The interior is roomy and the wood accents are nice with the beige leather interior. Overall, still a great car for the price with excellent residual value and fun to drive.
Scout's Rating
I traded in my 1990 VW Jetta, looking for a sporty four door sedan that would be comfortable for 4 adults whether travelling to evening shows or bicycling events. I find the car extremely fun to drive. It has great exceleration and corners well. The seats are wonderfully comfortable and don't put pressure on the tail-bone.
Review
For the price I've paid for this vehicle it is very comfortable, very reliable, the gas mileage is excellent and it has a ton of standard features. I use it as a commuter car, I've already put 38,000 miles on it in 18 months and it is still working like a swiss clock. I've only had one minor problem with the air conditioning not operating at the driver side which was due to a leak. That was fixed under warranty.
Fast Fun, and never lost
I have had the car for a little over 7 months. The car handles real well and accelerates like a demon. I had a 1999 Chrysler 300m before this car, and for the most part am glad I changed. Even though the Accord is 13hp less then the 300m it acccelerates faser and is much more refined. The Navigation system is a must have, but hasn't always steered me the best way. It doesn't always have the up-to-date info, and I have the newest disk.
We Love Our Honda
Our car is a pleasure to drive--we feel like a million bucks in it. We traded in our 1987 Honda Accord with 250,000 miles on it for the 2005 Honda Accord V6. Our old car was great, but what an improvement in the 2005! It is the best car on the road. The only thing we are trying to rectify is a sound/vibration noise/feel under the accelerator pedal at times. The dealership is working on this for us. Otherwise we are happy campers, unless the dealer doesn't resolve this one problem. Time will tell. Thanks Honda Corp. for your fine automobile and keep up the good work and we will definately be another repeat buyer.
Much More Than I Paid For
Again Honda proves that it makes the most sensible mid-sized car. It is a great design with great quality execution. I have owned several Accords, and presently also own an 02 Accord. Though I was initially hesitant about the unconventional looks of this latest design,I am more than won over by the aerodynamics, safety, fuel economy, low emissions, interior room, and acceleration. The car was delivered with zero defects. With Honda you get much more than you pay for and as a bonus you also have great resale.
Accord ex w/L
powerful engine, quiet cabin, comfortable interior, special exterior, high reliabilty and quality, good speakers
Reliable and maybe dull?
A good car, but hardly innovative. I wish I had opted for a little more luxury for some more dollars...BMW, Audi?
Honda+5speed MT=Pure Driving Bliss
Well this is my second Honda vehicle in the last year. I just purchased a 2003 Honda Element a year ago to the date when I purchased our new Accord EX-L with the navigation (for the wife, yeah right!). I love everything about this car. The stick shift is unbelievable, smooth as butter. It drives and handles like a champ. The inside comfort is second to none. And the navigation is absolutely awesome. Display nearest restaurants is my favorite option. You can not beat the value for the price. I paid a little over invoice and I do not regret it one bit. All I can say is Honda delivers some of the finest vehicles in the business.
The car's great.
I never though I would purchase an other forgein made car. But my daughter asked me to come with her to look at the Honda's. I left with a new Honda Accord EX. It was the first time(in a long time) I really was exsited about a car.
Eh, it's ok.
Driverside room: Head is too close to the roof; the steering wheel has to be pointed toward face to allow leg room. The 4-Cylinder: On the highway - engine makes a lot of noice to get up to speed. The Voice Activation Navi-System disappointing. Has to be fairly quiet to hear voice commands. Highway noice disrupts it. The air conditioning turned on several times b/c of this (it's winter) If it's raining... Not totally voice activated; requires manual input. Don't like the Navi's newer display. It's harder to see. The silver molding around the windows - Yuk Gas milage: not as good as I thought it would be. Advertised 30-38 city/hwy.
Switched from a Used RL to a new Accord
Have had the car two weeks. I don't understand how Honda can make such an exceptional car for $23K. I also own an Odyssey so I am biased : )
What's Not To Like?
Very nice car--my second Accord in a row. Never thought Honda could improve on the 2001 Accod, but they did--more powerful engine, easier to read displays, near perfect fit and finish, good stereo and A/C controls, heated seats, XM satellite, good cabin storage. Very reliable, great fit and finish. Weird looking tail lights (the '06 looks better), front end needs more styling. Noisy cabin. Bland handling. Highly predictable handling/performance, needs a little more fun factor.
WOW!
Almost bought an Acura TSX (dealer could not get the car and wanted MSRP - no discount, Honda dealer discounts). Drove a 5 speed EX and was very impressed with the acceleration of the 4 cyl. and smoothness of the 5 sp. Wanted leather and nav so I had to order the car. It was well worth the wait! To quote my 24 y.o. son, "The car is awesome!" This is luxury without the price!
PERFECT CAR FOR SINGLE PARENTS
THIS IS THE PERFECT CAR FOR SINGLE PARENTS..IT IS GREAT ON GAS.
Excellent value
This is my second Accord V6. The car is very reliable and performs well. I would like to see improved gas mileage in city driving (currently low 20 miless/gal) and less interior noise when driving. The Honda tends to ride rough especially over bumps. The radio/CD player should have better speakers. All of this being said, I still recommend the car and enjoy driving it.
Best value in class
I traded in a 1999 BMW 3 Series for this car. My wife could not drive stick and needed more room for newborn, soon to arrive. Do not listen to peoples gripes about performance. While this car is certainly no BMW, it performes great for the value minded family owner who needs room, value and all of the other practical things. I have been well pleased with my purchase so far. I know that I will have trouble free transportation for 5 years and the car will not depreciate that quickly. Additionally, it is relatively fun to drive.
Accord still fun at 30,000 miles
I bought my Accord for a very reasonable 18,300 in April 2004. I test drove a similarly equipped Camry and Accord on the same day and the engine and brake performance as well as the handling were much better in the Honda. After 30,000 miles I am still amazed at the power of the 4- cylinder engine. The engine turns only 2000 rpm at 60 mph and cruises effortlessly at 3000 rpm at 90 mph. Even at high speeds it still feels very safe with one exception. The LX comes with front disc and rear drum brakes. From the start when braking at higher speeds I had a shimmy and mediocre stopping distances. The rear brakes needed resurfacing at 25K miles.
The quality of the car and the dealer
Problem in first 10300 miles: 1. SRS system. 2. Seat belt failure. 3. Multiplex computer unit failure. 4. Excessive Rattle. 5. Unknown cause of Engine light 6. Bad experience with the dealership. This is Honda's fault of choosing dealerships with such low standards.
i love my accord
i totaly love my accord for spacius interior,as well as trunk that can fit a (cow) in there.exelent on gas and very quick being a 5 spd man.transmision
Honda Accord LX review
Very well desinged car, that is quite economical. Unfortunately, the body is very poorly put together and the car has multiple noises that the dealership is currently working on. Fit and finish are also decidedly below expectations. It is as if the car has never gone through any quality control at the factory and I had a list of about 5 different items that had to be taken care off after the purchase of the vehicle...
Should have gotten the V6
I was disappointed in the pick-up from dead stop, the rev counter reached the red mark in first gear, the engine whines but the car wasn't moving. Guess I should have gotten the V6. Merging into highway traffic, however is a pleasure, as the car has no problem keeping up with other vehicles once it has the running start. The seats are very comfortable for long drives, all all controls are easily accessible.
65,000 miles road test
Build quality: My car had a shocking number of fit and finish problems, including very annoying noises from the driver's door that the dealership could not remedy properly(neither was Honda prepared to exchange the car as a lemon). They were very disappointing but didn't impair the functionality of the car. Driving experience: After 65k miles I continue to be impressed by the excellent engineering. Honda has spend a lot of time thinking about details, such as the lights. For long distance driving I find the suspension too hard. One can feel very ripple in the road, without any highway benefit, whereas for sporty driving the tires give out too early and the car has too much body lean
Excellent
I traded in my Prelude for the Accord, and actually liked the latter better. It's got a very comfortable leather interior (EX model), smooth changing of gears and acceleration. The satellite radio is a plus. I highly recommend this vehicle.
03 HONDA ACCORD
THIS IS MY SECOND HONDA ACCORD I HAVE PURCHASED IN 4 YEARS. I LOVE THE RELIABILITY IT OFFERS. IT TOOK A COUPLE OF MONTHS TO ADJUST FROM DRIVING THE SEDAN VS. THE COUPE BUT THE EASE OF GETTING A CHILD IN AND OUT OF HIS CARSEAT HAS PAID OFF.
It's a Honda!
I LOVE MY CAR AGAIN! "AGAIN" MEANING HONDA ACCORD, JUST A 2004. HAVE HAD MANY. ALL ARE ABOVE AND BEYOND. THE BEST. #1 CAR OUT THERE.
Good vehicle
I bought my 2004 EX 4 cyl., navi package brand new. I have been very happy with my purchase. I live in a walkable urban setting so I don't drive that much. I have 54K miles on the car. The only things I have done to it is have the oil/filter changed and fluids topped off (this is done for free every 7,000 miles by the dealer as part of the purchase) and the sunglass holder on the ceiling broke at around 50K miles so I had that replaced. The car didn't need to have any tweaks done when I bought it. There are still no squeaks or rattles. I have bought one new navi CD for it about 3 years ago so I will probably buy another CD next year.
It's all good!
Forget about the Camry. Forget about the "Psssssssst." This stylish Accord has sleek lines, curves, and a redefined rear-end. Top it off with the NAVI and XM and you're all set. The NAVI encompasses state-of-the-art technology in an easy-to-use format. The TL is nice, but do you really want to shell out the extra bucks? With almost 30MPG on a 240-HP V6, this car is fuel efficient, yet loaded with power.
Honda doesn't honor its warranties
Loud noise when on idle and when you are stopped on the drive shift (roaring noise, close to a diesel engine) and that since the first 500 miles. The front windshield has stress points, causing it to crack, they didn't honor it, were rude and arrogant. Early on the breaks were making noise, they were aware of the defect but refused to fix it under the warranty. Another break problem(I use original Honda break pads) every 10,000 miles screeching sounds starts and vibrating movements occurs when applying the breaks; the rotors gets wavy surface and needs resurfacing every time the break pads are changed and goes bad shortly after.
past , present , & future
i'm an Honda owner since 1979, on that time i bought an Honda Civic CVCC, I WAS 19 , and was great to drive , low mantinience , low gas consume and had a low price too $5300.00. was my great deal. After the Civic, 1984 accord coupe , 1986 red Prelude , 1991 ACCORD SEDAN , 1994 ACCORD SEDAN , 2004 ACCORD SEDAN. IS JUST A GREAT CAR.
NOT IMPRESSED
This car has been back to a dealership several times for problems in less than 8 months of purchase. The brakes went bad- had to cut the rotor and replace the pads. The catalistic converter had to be replaced. What appears to the struts are making a rattling noise when driving over ruff terain...and in regards to the silky smooth gear box...hmmm, not in this car.
Great car
This is the 2nd Accord we have owned. It's still the best car for the money on the road today. Love the gas milage on the 4 cyl. At 160 HP it;s got a lot of get up and go. The in side is really nice. The best thing of all is the XM radio. If you try it one time you will not be without it ----Just Great Plan to drive this car 150,000 miles
Worth the money
This is going to be bias since it is my 11th Honda. Why not when the reliability is so good and resale near 50% after five years. The NAV system is awesome, very user friendly. This is my wife's car and she insisted on a standard so had to wait a couple months. Traded in a V-6 Accord. She let me take it today while she drove the Oydessy. Amazed at the power of a 4 cylinder and how smooth it is. The Acura TL would have been nice, but couldn't justify the cost. Bought the car from Bruce in fleet at Honda Cars of Mesa. Call act to deal with, couldn't say enough about him except...fifth Honda I've bought from him.
